  • We unbox & measure the Panasonic LZ2000, the Japanese manufacturer's flagship OLED TV for 2022. Our review sample is the 65-inch Panasonic TX-65LZ2000B, but the LZ2000 series is also available in 55-inch (model number TX-55LZ2000B) & 77-inch (TX-77LZ2000B) screen sizes.
    This is merely a first-look video... we will publish a full review in a few weeks' time once we've calibrated and assessed our Panasonic LZ2000 test unit after running in the OLED television for 200 hours.
    The "Includes Paid Promotion" message in this video refers to the sponsorship by British AV retailer Richer Sounds. If you're interested in getting a new Panasonic LZ2000, please support this channel by considering buying from them:

      @@The_Primary_Axiom Lets not forget that TCL is slated to unveil and release their inkjet printed RGB OLED TV's next year. I'm curious how it'll compare to QD-OLED. RGB OLED has no need for the QD layer and as a result doesn't give off a glow because of the QD layers photonic excitement. However, it may not be able to get as consistently bright as a QD-OLED and because it used RGB pixels instead of blue pixels color converted with quantum dots, those pixels will wear out unevenly just like WRGB OLED, yet the lack of a white subpixel means colors won't be diluted at high brightness and there's no oddities when displaying text.

This one has slight panel uniformity issues with dark grey slides, but will see if it fades once the set has been run in. Panel variance seems to be a common problem with all OLED TV’s though as they all use LG display.
    Apart from this though, the TV is incredible. Incredibly accurate colours, great motion and BFI, bright, and mind-blowing shadow detail. Even with gamma 1.886 or 2.4 and ZERO Oled brightness in a pitch dark room, gamma just above black is so fine you can’t even tell where the pixels shut off.

Accordingly, will be grateful when you review this 65 in greater detail if you may be able to provide any basic comparitive performance information with the TX-55 and TX-42 (LZ1500B) models - e.g., HDR color performance, measured nit output, full screen consistency. Will also be curious your take on how well all of these latest Panasonic monitors work @60mhz refresh rate for purposes of professional editing and color grading (as compared to driving a far more costly professional grading display via SDI - e.g. FSI 2401, which lacks sufficiently high nit output for HDR work). Looking for outstanding SDR performance as 'hero monitor' and 'nearly good enough to produce graded work at the broadcast level' HDR performance. Thank you!

    Just for reference - for 60hz screen (frame time 16.6ms), input lag of 14ms and 4 ms will result in the same 1 frame delay. So Samsung 95b and this one will result in the same frames delay even, if there is larger input lag on the Panasonic. For 120hz though (frame time 8.3ms) it will be 2 frames delay on Panasonic and still 1 frame on Samsung, but honestly you wont spot it.

    • @GraveUypo
      @GraveUypo Рік тому

      if delay was like that with perfect sync on full frames, it wouldn't be measurable in tenths of a millisecond. just take the delay at face value. when the signal is sent, the tv takes 9ms to display it. think of it as the update being offset from the signal by that amount. it doesn't need to be in multiples of its frame refresh. you're not talking about inputs in a video game which would have to wait for the next full frame to take effect.

    • @anghDescartes
      @anghDescartes Рік тому

      @@GraveUypo When the TV receives the signal, it takes 'screen latency' value to have it ready to display, but then it will be displayed in next frame refresh cycle and it will be kept re-rendered unless a new frame be received from source. No idea where did you got 9ms there.
      Input lag measured byt the device used in above video is pure lag between hdmi port of the TV and displayed colors / boxes on the screen. So this is not related to any gaming input, but the TV video input, so my post is correct.
      That is as well a reason for the input lag being lower in certain modes as monitor display 60 frames viceo input using 120HZ screen refresh rate.
