- This also loosely applies to pickups and 2nd gen 4runners as well in the year range 86-95. Kind of a step by step for those that want to get started.

You uploaded this not long after I did my swap this would have helped a lot but oh well I did the best I could with what was available. 3.4 swapped SAS 2nd gen 👌
Dude, excellent job..thanks for the guidance. Im thinking of doing the same to my toyota tocoma '08 single cab. 👍🍻
Gorgeous old 1st Gen 4runner
This is going to be my winter project for my 87 4runner. I just got a different axle today.
Came out pretty sweet trial and air only way to go to built it the way you want
Thanks. I'm running it all the time om some nasty trails around here. Gotta post some videos
Great video man !
Greatly appreciate this!
Awesome vid thanks. Hoping to do the same swap soon
Nice work
Thanks
good job brah
Dude, thanks for posting this. For some reason there isn’t a lot of informative videos about old Toyota’s. Im am about to post a video of my 1994 SR5 Pickup because there is just so little info on them.
I agree completely. Not much specific info out there. They're so popular I'm surprised. Just wanted to help the community
Good vid but it's easy to pull diff and shafts. Then upper and lower control arm can come off together still attached to steering knuckle. Just need to pull locking hub to let shaft slip through
Alright brendon I started my swap today got the 63’s in and now it’s cutting time so as soon as get done how about you and I meet up where you find all them head swords.
I got confused with your explanation on how it rode with the stock rear leaf on the front, could you explain a little more what it was doing and when it’s was doing it? I’m planning on using my rear leafs on the front aswell.
What do I need to consider exactly if I want to do that?
Hey man do you have more information about the driveshaft material?
But if i wanted to shift the axle foward more, the rear hanger location wont work right? Or is there a better leaf that is longer and hangs cirrectly in the rear while pushing the axle foward?
You could do whatever you want. That hangar location is specifically for RUF. You can move it where you want but it will affect the width of your spring perches if you move the shackle location farther back. I would move the front hangar farther forward and keep the toy axle width
First gen 4runner was 1984 to 1989
Wasn't the 1985 4runner with the EFI and Solid front axle made for only a year? because I have that 1985 4runner SR5 5 speed on 35's with 5:29 gearing.
@@dundeeecroc nope it was made for several years WITH the solid front Burfield axle
@@AntonioClaudioMichael '84 was solid front axle but had a carb, 85 was the only year it was offered with a solid front axle and EFI.
Don't do leaf springs, do a 3 or 4 link.
Why? I'm planning on removing my IFS from my single cab '08 toyota tocoma..
@@thecrusherbugs2331 leaf setup doesn't have the same SAS travel/flex. And it's a really rough ride. Especially if you throw a heavier engine up front. 🔧 ⚙️
