    This video is the holy grail of how to properly cut/weld the rear tubes in the frame, you sir are a gentleman and a scholar, thank you. In the process of doing mine and this has been a huge help.

    This has been a great research tool for my coming Isuzu Rodeo SAS; I need to take some measurements but it seems rather plausible that the same sas kit you are using would work for me also. great tip with the metal conduit to align the shackle tubes!

    Great job there.... I love the Tubing idea to get those in line!!

    nice man! im no stranger to solid axle swapping these trucks. definitely the most in-depth video ive seen on how to do this. for mine, i bought the trail-gear jigs and just drilled them out. i didnt check for true-ness between them or anything haha! luckily, it didnt crab or anything, so they must have been close enough. im in the process of building a mazda b series up. using a toyota frame, toyota solid axle, and im stuffing a vw engine into it as well.
    cheers bud! i subscribed.

      @@austinniemela its definitely coming together. I took a roughly 4 year break from youtube, so im kicking it off again with the mazda build. Gunna start watching your videos to get caught up on your build haha. Ive been wanting to stuff a vw engine into a minitruck for years, and im finally doing it!
      Cheers bud!

    Did you weld on any frame reinforcement plates one the front of the frame rails? I'm getting ready to due my SAS and trying to decide how necessary or if a good idea to.

    I like this in depth video, relieves some of my anxiety about my SAS on my 93 4Runner. I was gonna do my engine swap first (1UZ-FE) just to get it running, but since my rig is completely gutted right now (doing an R150f swap as well), looks like this will move to the top of the list. Great job on the rig.

    Cracking video, unfortunately we can't get the front spring brace in the UK would you by any chance have the measurements so I could get one fabricated?

    This video just saved my ass. The trail gear instructions are confusing when it comes to those shackle tubes being 1/4" out

    Hey bud about to weld that front support in
    So you did end up flipping it backwards so the 1 1/8” is to the back? And flush with the frame?
    How’d it all turn out?

    What did you do for a front driveline. I just finished my 3" ifs eliminator kit. And the one quote I had for a custom driveline was 1400 bucks.

    So 1/2” out with bushing for the frame tube?

    • @austinniemela
      @austinniemela  4 роки тому +2

      it really depends on your tube location. Just measure to keep the centerline the same as your front hanger width!

  • @gdubsvdubs
    @gdubsvdubs 4 роки тому

    Good idea on the tube through the shackle tubes, I tried it and realized it doesn't work with the transmission installed. The next SAS im doing will not have a trans in it so ill try it out then.

    What I don’t understand is why not just weld a hanger bracket just under that location. Save time and get the same results. This is a ridiculous way to lift your truck. Not blaming you but the company. I would never go through all that just for a lift.

      @austinniemela  4 роки тому

      For real!! Just make sure you measure and measure again!! Also that measurement in the video is incorrect! I forgot to add the 1/4" on each side for the bushings, so add 1/2" to that width for the shackle tubes!!!!

      @MICKIN310 4 роки тому

      When I cut one hole I'm going to but a piece of plastic pipe to align up my second hole and ohh yes I'll be measuring everything 2 or 3 times maybe even 4 or 5 times not something you want to do half ass
