It is a tribute to Eugene Shoemaker the geologist and one of the founders of the field of planetary science. His urn is send to the moon. The brass foil wrapping of Shoemaker's memorial capsule is inscribed with that Shakespeare quotation.

@@MikeandGinger That Shakespeare quote was read by Tuomas Holopainen's wife. - The bittersweet story behind it: Shoemaker dreamed of becoming an astronaut and study the geology and the craters directly on the moon. He applied for training, but a medical condition prevented him from becoming an astronaut. Shoemaker said shortly before his death the biggest disappointment in his life was “not going to the moon and banging on it with my own hammer.” - But he helped train astronauts.
Also "He is the very first human inhabitant of Earth to be laid to rest on another celestial body." - And I heard, that his urn rests in a certain crater from where he could see the eternal earthrise because the Moon is facing Earth always with the same side. - The quote is inscribed on his urn.

The reason that he was send up there was that he was one of the astronauts to be trained for one of the moon mission however when it was discovered he had rare hereditary decease he was taken of the list. He stayed with Nasa and was person that developed planetary science. He said that the biggest disappoint in his live was that he never had the chance put his hammer on on the moon surface. However he is the only person ever to be "buried" on the surface of another celestial body.

In answer to your question, Marco and Floor are the usual ones singing, though Troy sometimes sings (as he does briefly here).
Here's a little background on the song, the lyrics, and text...
This song was a tribute to the life of Eugene Shoemaker. Shoemaker was a geologist and well-known as being "the father of planetary science". You may have heard of his name before as one of the discoverers of the Shoemaker-Levy comet that broke up and collided with Jupiter back in 1994. Anyway, Shoemaker worked for NASA for many years and was part of the Apollo program as an astronaut until his being diagnosed with Addison's disease, which grounded him. Later, he said that the greatest disappointment of his life was that he never got to go bang his hammer on the moon. He was killed in a car accident in 1997 while in Australia researching a meteor crater there. In 1999 a special urn carrying his ashes was attached to the Lunar Prospector probe which mapped the moon and then (intentionally) crashed into a crater near the lunar south pole (which by the way was named after Shoemaker already), making him the only person to be buried on another celestial body. The urn was engraved with the Shakespeare quote from Romeo and Juliet in the video.
The "Laudato Si" and "Ad Astra" bits at the end were Latin, meaning "Praise be" and "To the stars". But there's a little more to it than just that.
"Laudato Si" is a phrase taken from St. Francis of Assissi's famous song "The Canticle of the Sun", in which he praises the air, water, fire, sun, planets, animals, etc. as being our brothers and sisters. Death as well. And the most notable line regarding this song was:
"Laudato si, mi Signore, per sora Luna e le stelle:
in celu l'ài formate clarite et pretiose et belle."
    which means:
"Praised be You, my Lord, through Sister Moon and the stars,
in heaven you formed them clear and precious and beautiful."
The term "Ad astra" is used in a variety of places in ancient Latin writings as well as in some modern contexts. Beyond its literal meaning, it implies the accomplishment of something that is practically impossible or very difficult. The first known usage is from Virgil in The Aneid, where he wrote "sic itur ad astra" or "thus one journeys to the stars" with the idea that it is how one accomplishes the impossible, and "opta ardua pennis astra sequi" or "desire to pursue the high (or hard to reach) stars on wings" when Aeneas taunts Turnus in combat. Another origin is Seneca the Younger, who wrote "non est ad astra mollis e terris via" or "there is no easy way from the earth to the stars".
After the disaster of Apollo 1 in which three astronauts were killed in a flash fire that destroyed their capsule on the launching pad, a memorial was erected with the phrase "ad astra per aspera" which means "to the stars through hardships".
The Nightwish folks are not religious, but they wanted to convey a sense of religious reverence for Shoemaker and the people like him who help us gain a scientific understanding of the world. This same attitude can be seen in spades in the Nightwish song "The Greatest Show on Earth" as well. This reverence for the natural world and for scientific understanding can also be seen clearly in Nightwish's "The Greatest Show on Earth" which includes some commentary by Richard Dawkins.

Fun fact: the ending here with Floor doing that extremely different operatic singing (it is not soprano!) - this part they recorded several times in the studio before they were satisfied - or Toumas actually meant that it was perfect. Floor went home to her Farm, but didn't have tje inside feeling she wanted. She practiced, rehearsed - and finally recorded it her own home studio - send ot to Tuomas - and that's the result you her on this version. Phenomenal performance - and she has promised her fans to do it live!!!! It is soprano (that is her voice, after all), but she's not singing what people consider "opera" style. She's using a technique called passagio, which is combination of head and chest voice. Getting it right takes a lot of practice, and getting it perfect takes, well, Floor Jansen. I'm always amazed that such a fantastically well-trained vocalist is fronting for a metal band.

Thank you guys for your truly genuine reactions. Just a piece of advice while listening to all of the suggestions posted on here, please, please, please do a little background research on "Poet and the Pendulum" and "Greatest Show on Earth" before you listen. It would have been very helpful with "Shoemaker" as well. With Greatest Show on Earth you have to watch all the way until the end and not make the mistake that many reviewers do by ending the video before it is done. Make sure you watch straight through the credits until the video ends. Many make the error to end early and get a lot of thumbs done for that simple mistake. I suggest you save "Poet and the Pendulum" for one of your later reactions in your Nightwish journey and maybe the Nightwish fellowship will give you some background as to the meanings behind the very deep, dark and sad meaning of the lyrics. Yes, this is certainly a beautiful composition altogether.
In this album, they incorporate more of vocals from Troy to give him a little more exposure.
The song is about Eugene Shoemaker. He was a remarkable scientist and a wonderful husband. His ultimate dream was to go to the moon and would have done so. Unfortunately, he came down with a condition that kept him from going into space and so, because of his passion for science and the universe, after his death, his wife agreed in honoring her husband by donating 1 ounce of his ashes that were to be taken up and buried in the moon.

Greetings from Finland & sorry to be late (as always). This song was the only one on their latest album that Floor has told gave her a real challenge to get the operatic part just the way she wanted it to sound. She managed to nail it only after they added the choir to the audio track she was listening while singing that part of the song & she could do it in her more peaceful home studio. She is not just a perfectionist, but also hyper sensitive to her surroundings & other people, which probably helps her to convey all those emotions with her singing.
P.S. The Shakespeare quote is spoken by Tuomas' wife Johanna Kurkela, who is a well known vocalist here in Finland & most likely also in many other countries for her work with her husband & Troy Donockley (Nightwish's multi-instrumentalist) in the band AURI.

He's done backup before but this is the first time he's been so up-front and it's a really different sound. He co-discovered comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 which subsequently crashed into Jupiter. He died in a car-crash in Australia in 1997. Some of his ashes were subsequently taken to the Moon on the Lunar Prospector probe, making him the first human to be buried on another celestial body. The first male voice you hear is Troy Donockley. Multi instumentalist.
All about Eugene Shoemaker. Only human to have his ashes laid to rest on the moon. Very interesting back story. The lady reading the lines from Romeo and Juliette is Tuomas's wife, Johanna. The Romeo And Juliette quote was on a plaque on the urn that to Shoemaker to the moon.
Right on Mike with the Shoemaker Levy comet.

Kudos to Mike for his translation: quite accurate!
The last (gorgeous) verse is half Vulgar (aka medieval Italian) and half Latin.
*Laudato si'* (or laudato sii) are the first two words of the Canticle of the Creatures by St. Francis of Assisi and it means "Praised be you"
*Ad astra* is pure Latin meaning "to the stars / to the stars' height".
Combined together these phrases are a commendation to Shoemaker: Praised be you to the stars' height.
Great reaction! If you want to explore more from the latest Nightwish album (Human//Nature), I suggest to start with the first track "Music" and follow the tracklist order because, even though every track is beautiful per se, the whole album is intended as a musical journey! 🎶🛫🎵
Ps: LOTS of Kleenex if you react to "How's the Heart", especially the Planet Rock acoustic version!😢😢😢

Now that you know that this song is a tribute to Eugene Shoemaker you should watch it again and pick up the bits you will have overlooked
Eugene studied meteor strikes on the earth and the moon along with all things space hence the visual theme, His wife Carolyn joined him on his travels when the kids left the house and studied with him
The end I see it (the visuals) as the view point from his resting place as the earth/sun sets.
Unfortunately he died is a car crash on aback country track in Australia whilst researching with his wife, she survived
    Another great reaction

The instrument at the beginning, and heard repeatedly throughout the piece is the dulcimer, although I'm not sure if it is sampled (patches, in MIDI speak) and played from Tuomas' keyboard or an actual instrument, and if it is, who is playing it. It is the direct ancestor of the pianoforte (the strings being struck), as the psalterium is of the harpsichord (in which the strings are plucked).
Eugene Shoemaker was actually selected as the first civilian to travel to the moon, but his Addisons disease was diagnosed part-way through his astronaut training. He completed the training to avoid interfering with the training schedule of the cohort going through training with him.
His final resting place is near the lunar south pole at 88.1° South 44.9° East.on the floor of the crater which bears his name. Although it had been informally known as Mawson in some circles beforehand, the Internation Astronomical Union had never recognised it as such, and so the only official designation it has held will be Shoemaker.
Being so close to the south pole, he does get eternal earthrise. It is also in permanent shadow, so a permanent deep freeze in the extreme sense - below 100K (-173°C ≈ -280°F). It can be found here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoemaker_(lunar_crater)#/media/File:Lunar_south_pole_summer_annotated.jpg

The phrase" Eternal Earthrise": Shoemaker's ashes are located on what we see as the edge of the moon. Being the moon does not rotate more than once per orbit, the Earth is always in the same place in the lunar sky. Because of his ashes position, Shoemaker figuratively see the Earth in eternal rise.

This song is an Ode to Eugene Shoemaker, an American geologist and one of the founders of the field of planetary science. The only man who is buried on the moon. The Shakespeare quote is inscribed on the capsule that held his ashes that were deposited on the moon in a crater named after him. That last shot of the earth setting behind the horizon of the moon is from his gravesite on the moon. You were right "Praise be to the Stars". Tuomas is a science geek. Great job my friends. Extra Extra comment, for Ginger especially -- always trying to help with more Floor stuff, as a big fan myself. This just appeared on my radar: professional opera singer and vocal coach Elizabeth "The Charismatic Voice" Zharoff has yesterday (Oct. 6) uploaded her review of Floor singing an actual opera piece. You've probably run across the opera name in your comments section -- "O Mio Babbino Caro" "one of the most famous Puccini arias for lyric soprano in operatic repertoire". Elizabeth Zharoff is highly regarded, and received over 5,000 comments to her UA-cam review of "Ghost Love Score". For anyone who doubted Floors technical singing ability, Elizabeth gives an EXTREMELY TECHNICAL BREAKDOWN by a PROFESSIONAL OPERA SINGER of exactly what it is Floor is doing as she is singing this, that frankly, I can't begin to even understand what she is talking about, its so complicated. But for anyone who ever doubted Floor's ability, this would be a must-see video. You can find it at "ua-cam.com/video/hs4ziowgu9g/v-deo.html". Thanks, and have fun!

Tuomas's Nightwish songs are so profound it's a good idea to do some background research on some before listening, (not watch, just read). Digest a number of other Nighwish songs before you get to the Poet and the Pendulum (live at Wembley), but that one in particular it is very important to know the backstory, it IS Autobiographical. Also, try to find one with on screen lyrics, big help.
