Hi friends! Due to the new project, I'm now looking for a video editor!! Anyone interested? DM me ^^ www.shinagawa-japanese-cooking.com/contact Thank you so much for stopping by^^
Hi Miwa-San…I have to admit I didn’t eat very well after all my kids moved out. I found it difficult to cook for just myself. But your videos inspire me to take better care of myself step by step. I now make myself miso soup for breakfast as often as possible but on those days when I’m in a rush to go to work in the morning, I make sure to have miso soup at lunch or at dinner time. It’s hard to go from cooking meals for 4 people and now it’s just me. But I’m learning from you … arigato!! 😊🇨🇦
I feel the same. I always come here to Miwa- San's channel when my husband is away and now my children have left home. I like how I can cook in advance and have lots of lovely tasty healthy things in the fridge. It is also fun because my husband usually likes different food but on my own I can cook exactly what I want - lots of broccoli and tofu!
Thank you for sharing Janet-san! you are very caring to others ( I can tell through a bunch of conversations here^^) but for some reason it's so hard to take care of ourselves😂 I always forget self-care too. My mom is in the same situation as you, so she recently started to make a bento box just for herself. She needs some reason to stay on the truck. ganbatte!
Hi there I hope you are good I love this recipe so much not only this all of them you recipe are really amazing your words motivate me too try new things ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️ I really love your channel and you lots of love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇯🇵🇯🇵❤️❤️😊😊😊
Miwa-san, just a little smoothie tip: you could also add a bit of pineapple to brighten the taste. That way the taste of spinach will not be so strong. I personally like to add coconut water to my smoothie.
Miwa you frying the onigiri, has inspired me to try to make something! I had about half a cup of leftover rice, so I put some home-made chili oil in a hot pan, and put the ball of rice on it and then pushed it down so it formed a patty. I fried it on medium heat until the bottom was crunchy. Then I made a dent in the center of the rice (not all the way to the surface of the pan), big enough for an egg, which I then cracked into it. Then I sprinkled on some Katsuo Mirin Furikake on top, turned down the heat to medium-low, and covered the pan with a lid. I turned it down because I wanted to cook the egg white, but leave the yolk runny. When the egg white was only just cooked on the top, I took off the lid, turned the burner up to medium heat again (so the bottom was still crispy) for 1-2 minutes. Then I put it on a plate, drizzled sesame oil and soy sauce, and sprinkled some hot pepper flakes. It was surprisingly tasty! I'm sure you can do much better, but I really enjoyed it! It's like a version of "egg toad in the hole" but WAY better if I do say so myself! 🥳
Thank you for sharing the sweet story about your mom making you delicious breakfasts, and then walking you to the bus stop! She sounds like a wonderful mother! I I think it's a real tribute to her that you have carried on the tradition of healthy, yummy breakfasts for your boys!
You are a really nice parent, you care about there both physical and mental health, your cooking is also very healthy and satisfing, they are very lucky to have such good mother like you!!👏❤
Even when you feel lazy you come up with interesting recipes ! the Tiramisu with oats and soft tofu is an interesting twist on the classic version ! great vid !
@@MiwasJapaneseCooking 🤣🤣 i see ! Honestly its the same for me , a part form the oat and banana cookies that are so easy to make , i never bake cakes or make anything sweet !
Hello Miwa. I have been following you and watching your videos for a while now. I do try some recipes but I didn’t really take seriously the importance of gut health until recently. I started fermenting veggies at home and using miso in various dishes on a regular basis. This morning I made the commitment to make miso soup every morning for breakfast. I already notice changes. I have many stomach issues and lately they have gotten so much better. I want to thank you for inspiring your viewers and promoting delicious food that is good for you too. We all appreciate you! I even bought a special bowl for my soup. 😊.
your food looks so yummy but healthy. yes recently i tasted the slimy seaweed n liked it i like natto n the seaweed was in a vinegar sauce i had it both on rice it was really good i like that u showed us how to make grilled musubis im going go try that
I know exactly what you mean, it got so hot here the last thing I want is to do is to stand over a hot stove... These are wonderful quick ideas, I'm looking forward to trying out the tofu tiramisu!
Coming from the West and seeing a Japanese breakfast it's kind of strange because it looks like lunch. Everything here for breakfast looks like dessert cereal pastries Donuts. Or just eggs and bacon with some sort of bread. But it looks good but I don't think I'd have the time to make it unless I meal prepped it the night before which I might do
A very popular Tiramisu recipe for children we have in Germany is with apples. You can use apple juice or apple sauce instead of coffee, add some cinnamon and vanilla and it tastes amazing. I really enjoy all your shared recipes here, thank you so much!
So excited to try your oat Tofu tiramisu, it's such a clever idea! If only I was good at editing, I would love to join your team. Sadly I am terrible with anything to do with filming 😔
Miwa! These look amazing! In one of your videos you made a dish using, I think, three different types of mushrooms. I can't figure out which video that was. Maybe it was a meal prep one? Any chance you'd know which one it was?
Hi Miwa. If you make a juice with the frozen kiwi, your kids will love it. I would suggest 2 beets, 2 lemons, 2 cucumbers, 2 apples and an equal volume of the frozen kiwi. I promise you that your children will absolutely love it.
Simple shio yaki onigiri is best :) love it with miso stirfried nasu and piman. A good breakfast is these shio (yaki) onigiri with your fish dumpling soup and simple salad. I freeze the dumplings and put them frozen in the soup. ohhh roasted sweet potatoes and yogurt! got to try that! try matcha instead of coffee for the oats. or just plain. My daughter loves these kind of breakfasts. and you can make them for the whole school week so easy make it on Sunday and no stress during the week. And children can help :)
Hi Miwa, you mentioning tiramisu, and brought a smile at my face. I am italian and my husband is American born chinese. When we met in Milan he thought tiramisu was a Japanese word 🤣, You pronounced it right there is a accent on the u. “Tira” is from tirare=pull, “mi” is for me, su with accent on the u means up. BTW, I don’t like tiramisu and it mostly likely would be seen has a heresy for other Italians but I bet I’d like your version much better than the original. Mascarpone cheese is too fatty for me, doesn’t agree with my stomach. Like the silky tofu idea!
Huh? We have a non slimy seaweed offered at Sushi restaurants and big chain grocery stores that have a small sushi area. In Boston Massachusetts we have Japanese grocery stores. I will have to ask them about it since I love natto.
*YAY* leftover rice onigiri is kid approved! That's high praise indeed! I think I like the leftover rice onigiri because it's more dense and more satisfying to chew. I usually have it with a dip made of of soy sauce, white vinegar, gochugaru and toasted sesame seeds, or light and dark soy sauce, sesame oil, fermented chili paste, and lemon or lime juice. I used to add something sweet to that sauce, but I find that the dark soy sauce is a bit sweet so it wasn't really needed. I may try it with amazake though. :) If I have leftover fish, I either put a piece in the center, or flake the fish and mix it with the rice before forming it into the shape. Have you tried Korean street toast for breakfast on weekends? I have only made one kind so far, but it was fantastic! It's a version of Isaac Toast, with a kiwi sauce! It looks complicated the first time you make it, but it isn't really once you have done it one time. Plus you can make the sauce and portion out most of the other ingredients the night before. The sandwich bread you have there in Japan I think will work well. If you're interested in trying it, the one I made is from seonk young longest, called Isaac Korean Street Toast Recipe and Video. ( I don't want to share a link, in case UA-cam won't let me. :) ). When I make it I usually use ham of some kind like in the recipe, but I made it for a friend who can't have ham, and instead I added some good quality mustard to simulate the salt/savoury/umami of the ham. Apparently it really worked, she had me make it again for her and her daughter LOL.
Give me a couple of weeks to get you a couple of sweet recipes. I am getting over an infection. Also I have some vegan recipes. Also for the gluten free people. Make different soba. I have crohns which is tricky.
