Move the electrical outlet up to behind wall mounted TV. It's a very simple dIY and about $20 in materials since you can reuse the outlet and if you are careful, the junction box. Carefully cut out the drywall in the new location and use it as the drywall patch where the old outlet was. Pull the wire from the wall and if you need to extend it you can create the junction box at the old location and romex an extension up to the new location. Looks better and frees up the space.

Oh Ana you are so clever. On the weekend just gone ( beginning of June 2019) I watched the tv show about you and your husband building your cabin. Grace was only very young and you had only 1 other baby. I knew we were always behind with tv shows in Australia but did not realise how behind!! Keep sharing your work as it is always inspiring. Thank you.

Great job Anna. You had a crew on this job.
A shallow cabinet under the TV with doors could be a closet too and hide the cord. If the TV has a DVD player built in you can keep DVDs on a shelf above the doors. Or hide a small DVD player in the top of the “closet”. Would you consider a Yak tray under the coat hooks or perhaps coat hooks/tree in the hall with a Yak tray? Mud and wet coats above the carpet are constant cleanup issues. The walled off nook at the bottom of the stairs? Also a folding suitcase rack? If the desktop was hinged it could rotate up and suitcase a suitcase shelf could fold down. Otherwise dirty suit cases will be placed on the bed covering.
A tiny shelf/night stand for the closet side of the bed for watch, phone charging, water bottle, tissues?
    No chair?

Really smart to transform the closet on a desk area. Those who visit your amazing area I don't think they need to much place for clothes but more for adventure, photos, etc. Grace is growing faster I'm sure She has lots of ideas on her young mind. Nice to see you guys.

    • @AnaWhiteDIY

Thanks! It was tough decision- most of the people visiting our area are just overnight guests- there’s very few vacationers. The vacationers usually stay in Denali or have rvs that they drive the road system and camp in.
So we opted for this setup.

I travel for work and stayed in that location for 12 weeks at a time sometimes I would stay alittle longer and not having a real closet or dresser or some real place to put my clothes would suck.

Thumbs up video! The mirror made the room feel larger but for Fung shway, I think a mirror is not supposed to be across from a window? What about a light & electricity inside the closet for a laptop & charging a cell? The wood in your project costs more than buying a cheap bed, why not a thrift store bed, or Craigslist?! Also, you don't always need 2 end tables, but if you insist on 2 in that time room, then 1 square, & 1 small round, so it doesn't crowd entrance to the closet. Or you could've had a chair in that space next to the bed, which doubles as both an end table, & a desk chair. Not wild about the pic, partly cuz the Buffalo is so out of center. Also, you need another similar pic, to make it part of a grouping (still keeping it simple) with perhaps a deer, or something Alaska-ish to tie into the closet art... or even better, since you built & painted the frame, do an exact sized frame for a mirror to put next to the buffalo. Why not have a small bench at the entrance, & a place to hang your coat there? The light fixtures didn't need to be updated, why waste more $?! (if sounding like a hater, that's not my intention! You're awesome!).

In feng shui, it's a bad idea to place a mirror infront of the door, not windows. It is believed that mirrors project and multiply what they reflect so you need to make sure that it reflects beautiful things - her placement is actually perfect because it reflects the gorgeous outdoors.

Unless you put one of those folding suitcase stands that hotels have people will be using your desk as a suitcase holder and scuff it all up.
    Also need a bedside lamp.
I feel like the owner should have to sleep in the space before renting it and should do it again every 9 months to be sure everything works and is nice. Too many times you get to one and they have not thought about the basics that everyone needs.

Absolutely gorgeous honey and my mother is always wanted to visit Alaska the only place she says she has not been as an airforce wife my daddy passed away in 95 so it's just been me and my mom I would love to make this a wish-come-true for her please let me know how I can get ahold of you or your sister so I can possibly make arrangements for my mother's 75th birthday?! We lost my daughter who I named after my mother Priscilla she was diagnosed at age 11 with osteogenic sarcoma a form of bone cancer in her left humerus less than 5 years later that little girl the car lot in the United States but on April 7th the monster one but the Lord gained a beautiful beautiful angel with intelligence wanting to walk in his garden I will and I shall see her one day one Sweet day I will! 😭 My heart my life has never been the same since and never will losing my father then losing my daughter it just about killed me.
Then after hurricane I'm at the study to come through South Tampa Florida all is well at the house except some limbs on top so I climbed up there on the ladder like I always did cleaned it off I fell 11 feet onto concrete I broke everything from my head to my toes I had no nose no lips I had just started learning to walk I was showing my mom and her friends and my aunt in the hospital I shattered my right foot and leg just walking 😭💔😭 since then I have been working my tail end off the walk again without actually falling every 10 feet and it happens often it's a sad situation that's what happened my face has been repaired I look the same I guess. My mom has just been beside herself my aunt have a nice major stroke my uncle fighting cancer now we got the good news on him 5 years before he has to see the doctors again for his cancer we are blessed in many ways that my aunt still has not come out of this situation all we can do is pray believe me prayers to work 🙏 never underestimate a prayer never God bless peace be with you I love watching your channel thank you much love and respect you have a beautiful family you are blessed
