    I liked your video. I was thinking to buy a punch, but is expensive. That too I have to buy different sizes. You used a substitute, Allen wrench @ 1:14, 1:19, which I already have in many different sizes. Thanks for making a nice and clean video and sharing it. My old model Kenmore Elite stand mixer leaked in first 3 to 4 uses after buying aprox 7 yrs ago. It is not leaking any more, perhaps because the separated oil has already leaked out. After watching several UA-cam videos, I was thinking to replace the o-ring on the upper portion of the spindle inside the gear chamber. It appears that just by replacing the grease, oil leak may stop. I already clicked thumbs up button.

    Found the video very informative. My mixer makes a squealing sound when you turn it on. Sounds like a bearing not inplace properly or something rubbing. The original owner bought the mixer probably 13 - 14 years ago and when this happened he just didn't use it. Hopefully it would be repairable.

    Thank so much for making this video..it was very helpful.... I just found a Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixer at Goodwill for $35 and from what I can tell, it leaks oil and #2 speed is a bit slower than normal (other speeds are fine).... things that I'm sure/hoping can be fixed!

      I used KitchenAid grease that is a food safe grease. In case of incidental food contact, must not cause any physiological hazard or affect the food’s odor and taste in any way. You can buy it on Amazon. Kitchenaid 0011665W4176597 Genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Part for Kitchenaid & Whirlpool www.amazon.com/dp/B00OSC174E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apu_X1ICBbJ45GH4K

    • @SiLoQuieroLoHago
      @SiLoQuieroLoHago  5 років тому +1

      It may be stuck, so you will need to use a punch tool to force it out with the help of an small hammer to carefully hit the punch tool while some else hold the mixer for you. It may require to hit a little harder to get it out. You can see the process in the minute 1:10 on my video.

    My friend, I want to repair my kitchenaid myself, but the safety pin in the planetarium does not come out, I don't know if it has rust, but I'm spoiling it with the hammer and it doesn't come out, what do I do?
    I am from Venezuela and I have not got a good technician and decided to do it myself. My machine does not work the speeds and drips the oil and I want to do what you did in the video. remove the electronic feet and take them to a technician to check them and see what they have. I tried to balance them on the speed card but I don't get any improvement.

    • @SiLoQuieroLoHago
      @SiLoQuieroLoHago  5 років тому

      Es difícil sacar el safety pin porque esta metido a presión. Si le das golpes firmes pero suave utilizando un martillo puedes sacarlo. Mi esposo me sostenía la batidora mientras yo le daba golpes con el martillo como muestro en el minuto 1:10.

      @@SiLoQuieroLoHago Gracias amiga ya mi hermano lo saco costo mucho le dio de golpes, se maltrato un poco pero que creo asi lo volvere a colocar. Quiero repararla porque no consigo quien lo aga, vivo en Venezuela los talleres responsables de esa marca ya no existen, los respuestos los tienes que encargar. Una vez estaba batiendo y depronto bajo la velocidad y como que la fuerza, pense que eran las velocidades descontroladas y no! porque no la puedo volver a controlar por la tarjeta que esta atras con los tornillos. Dije que la voy a desarmar ver como estan los engranajes engrasarlos y mandar a probar las tarjetas electronicas que tiene.

      Try spraying a little WD40, and letting it soak. Keep applying the WD40, while it soaks.

      @Merman I changed the grease in mine. I don't think it was used very much in it's life. It may also be older as I did not see a nylon gear....they all appeared to be metal.

      Diane Cadeau Hi!! I made this video two years ago and I am currently using the mixer without any leak.

  • @Dorilana

    PLEASE HELP ME. I CAN'T GET THE PIN OUT TO REMOVE THE PLANETARY. I've used a punch and hammer, and then a bit from a screw driver, to better cover the overall size of the surface of the pin, and a hammer. I have even sprayed it with WD40 in hopes that some would leak between the pin and it's chamber. I wiggled the whole planetary in hopes of getting the WD40 in better. I've tried putting the mixer at every angle.... upright, upside down and on it's side. I've tried both sides of the pin. I've even had 2 other people try it ... but nothing is working! And the end of the pin, and area around the pin is taking a beating. 😢
    Edit: Extra information about my model. It is an Artisan and does not have screws under the silver name band thingy.

    • @xopenex1
      @xopenex1 3 роки тому

      Make sure the punch is not to big to slip through the hole where the pin is housed. If you have been trying just one side--try the other side of the pin. Don't hold back on the your effort or force to move the pin out. Good luck

    Oil?

    • @SiLoQuieroLoHago
      @SiLoQuieroLoHago  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, oil. When the grease inside the gearbox of a KitchenAid stand mixer separates, the liquid part of the grease can leak out of the mixer as an oil. The grease inside the mixer's gearbox can separate for several reasons; heat from overloading the mixer, not using the mixer often enough, and time are the most common reasons.
