- The Uzumaki clan were famous for their insanely powerful sealing jutsu, but they were equally feared for their various sealing jutsu. So much so that multiple nations teamed up to wipe out the Uzumaki clan in a surprise attack that left the survivors scattered throughout the Naruto world. However, outside of the information Kushina Uzumaki shared with Naruto, when Naruto trained to master the kyuubi chakra, we haven't learned much else about the clan.
In today's installment of the wasted potential series, we're going to look at the insane wasted potential of the Uzumaki clan, how they were misused, and how they could have been used better in the Naruto series, in particular after Naruto meets Kushina!

That was one of my biggest complaints with Naruto's character. The author gave Sasuke all the creativity and let Naruto spam Rasengan. He had wind nature the rarest of the chakra natures and only uses it for Rasenshurikan. Not to mention he had Uzamaki blood lines at least he could have had the chains and knowledge of dealing jutsu. Kishimoto really did a disservice to Naruto's fighting ability.
Not to mention Naruto never really learned any wind jutsu during Jiraiya's training. Or the Shadow clone thing was brought up by Kakashi, not Jiraiya. They didn't even have to make him op. Just give him a variety of Jutsu like a shinobi should, like Gale Palm, Great Breakthrough, or air bullet. Heck, you could even give Naruto a water chakra nature, especially when you realize that Whirlpool was near water. I wish Naruto learned sealing as well, especially since his sensei was a seal master. Naruto should have been so much stronger throughout the manga/anime.
Then he didnt even experiment with chakara forms like that one guy with the weird hand who shot that thin slash of wind. Why didnt he let naruto learn something like that.
@@jameshaley3611 Because Sasuke gets to be OP, apparently. Give all the Uchiha's overpowered abilities, but nothing for Naruto until from a clan perspective, even though he is an Uzumaki. By the way, what do you think of my above comment? I feel like those would have fixed the issues of early Shippuden with Naruto, while also keeping it realistic and not making Naruto too OP.

They are a part of the fking God tree where chakara came from and etc. They could have given naruto a variety of jutsu i absolutely agree he should have had many sealing jutsu. From a viewers perspective naruto was the only uzamaki i knew of until pain appeared i thought they were all dead. If sasuke can find scrolls and lore of uchiha inside multiple hideouts. Naruto should have ran across one at some point. Like how can i know what they were truly capable of if the only one left doesnt carry on or have learned there traditions or techniques.

Kushina especially when I saw her moveset made me despise the game. They wasted and trashed her character. And I don’t even want to mention the road to ninja movie. Misused completely.
Kurama has access to Mito and Kushina's memories. Naruto has all he needs to completely restore the Uzumaki clan. Even more so than Sasuke with the Uchiha.

There is the possibility that the favorite characters were Uchiha so that's where they poured their energy.

It would be so cool to see Naruto and Karin have a family moment and talk about their family. It’s like the writers don’t even realize they’re related and belong to one of the strongest clans of all time
Senju are also very underrated. They used to kick the Uchihas asses and they didn’t even have their own unique Kekkai Genkai. With the exception of Hashiramas Wood style but that was just his. Very powerful clan with little to no history.
Both clans did a lot of bloodshed to each other. Senju won because Hashirama was stronger than Madara. They wouldn't be "rival clans" if Senju "kicked Uchia's asses". Don't be reckless with words.
@@shamibanbanyamyan6376 Still, wish the Senju were more developed. They were equal to the Uchiha clan, who are OP as hell, what with the 113 different properties of the Sharingan. We don't even know why there are no people named Senju anymore - some fanfics and fan theories touch upon this, claiming that the Senju decided to fully integrate with the village and lose the clan name, and thus most of the citizens ARE descended from the clan, but it's just a theory.
I think I read once that since Senju means "thousand arms", they are the opposite of the Uchiha; instead of relying on the one Kekkei genkai, the strength of their clan comes from their versatility and variety of different talents among the clansmen. Which kind of makes sense, Hashirama had three or four brothers, but was the only one with the Wood Release (which was actually caused by him having Ashura's soul I guess?), while Tobirama was THE master of water ninjutsu, better than ninja from the Land of WATER.
And if Uzumaki's sealing techniques were so important, how did people of Konoha forget about Kushina Uzumaki so quickly after her death and didn't realise that there's a connection between her and Naruto? Kushina must have been an invaluable source of knowledge and irreplaceable as a seal mistress, aside from being the Jinchuuriki.

I’m hoping they’ll give us more on the Uzumaki backstory in Boruto and maybe even if it’s filler arc, show Boruto and Sasuke traveling/training and finding some more of the forgotten relics of the clan.

I also feel like Karin's abilities in the anime that she got from Orochimaru's experiments should of never been a product of experimentation. That level of sensory ability should of been an Uzumaki clan ability. It would've also been adding another explanation behind why the Uzumaki were so powerful.High level sensory abilities, special chakra,the adamantine chains and massive sealing knowledge would of been a good start of an explanation of why so many nations wanted to destroy them.

@@sakuchan7512 Yes,people could make a whole list of characters that were wasted potential in that anime. Even Sakura is on that list due to her talent in genjutsu was never explored and the fact that she didn't have enough backstory or character development as Kakashi and Sasuke did.

Naruto should've learned sealing techniques since it was his mother's clan speciality. Nagato is a very good example of an Uzumaki using his full potential.... I mean look at his chakra levels... They are beyond Naruto and Hashirama levels.... He was on a league of himself in terms of Chakra and Vitality.... And if there are even a few of him like in Uzushiogakure then I can see why 3 village will join hands to kill them all....

I wish they expanded upon the Hyuga Clan and the Byakugan and how it was supposed to be superior to the sharingan bc during the 5 kage summit, they reference it again. Also, the Uzumaki Clan, Aburame Clan, and the Sarutobi Clan

I believe the reason why Minato studied the Uzumaki sealing techniques was to improve upon the Flying Thunder jutsu. The Uzumaki clan had a huge influence on the Fourth Hokage. Even his Rasengan was inspired by the Biju Bomb.

Oielvert How the hell does Minato's knowledge of Uzumaki sealing Jutsu help him with the Flying Thunder God technique? He only mastered the sealing Jutsu as a contingency for if Kushina failed to keep Kyuubi at bay.

Right I believe that the Hyuga clan could become a story plot forma the hole manga, for example, that after the war, they could started an own clan civil war between the Principal anda secondary branches and for that eventualidades we Can maker Neji survive the war to put him in this conflict.
Nope. The hyuga clan had their time to shine during the chunin exams and the fourth war. The byagukan was also essential to missions where naruto and his team required neji or hinata. The uzumaki clan was wasted more because they were nothing more than a plot device used to explain how powerful naruto was and an afterthought kishimoto couldn't bother developing. They were irrelevant and wasted because of the powercreep and sharingan but at least they weren't tossed aside as a plot device in a badly written bloated arc

I'd like to see a Uzumaki Clan arc trying to seal Karma from taking over Boruto. While Sarada does Mangekyo Research on Fugaku Uchiha giving us information on what his MS does. I'd like to see more flash backs from Karin. And I'd think it would be cool to see how the Kaguya, Hagoromo, Juugo, Kurama, and Kinkaku clans are related to Senju and Uzumaki Clan. Honestly I feel the series has more potential than people think but never fully reached it. When we had things like Pain, Orochimaru, Madara, we always had a Kaguya or an unnecessary Filler Arc or lackluster character development.

I feel that since the assistants at pierriott waited til the last arc of the series to show a Canon filler arc , why they couldn't do something similar like that from the start 🤔 the Otsutsuki clan arc was the first an ONLY time had an arc with completely different Characters , while exploring that clan , had all of Shippuden episodes outside of the Canon material did that ? Then not ONLY Shippuden would've been worth watching with or without contents from the manga , but it'll have ZERO fillers as a whole .

Talking about potential.. freakin’ huge potential. Let’s hope Masashi Kishimoto saves the story regarding the Uzumaki Clan and somehow we get a spinoff about it in the future series. Maybe on Boruto. Perhaps we get to know more about it in Boruto just like how we got to learned about the Uchihas in Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. But let’s just hope it goes that way. I really miss Nagato btw 😢

Love this video, especially for the amount of truth spoken. There really should have been an arc in Shippuden where Naruto learns about them, looks into his clan and their abilities (this could happen either before or after the Hidan and Kakazu Arc but definitely after Sasuke "defeats" Orochimaru). Maybe while that's happening Kabuto could be following Naruto (because of his own obsession of him) and find out about the existence of the Shinigami mask and clear up the plot hole of Orochimaru knowing about it and not going after it earlier by having him learn of it through Kabuto when he retakes his chakra from him. Also rewatching this video reminded me of what if idea I had: Kushina saves herself from Kumo's kidnapping attempt and thus never falls for Minato, meets Nagato before Yahiko's death, fall for each other, start a secret romance during the third war, and secretly have Naruto. Think you could make a video about it?

When it comes to clans, the biggest bullshit is that the Senju got extinct.
What? 1 Senju and his sons were all there was of the Senju? And they were in war against the Uchiha? AND only one of those sons got a granddaughter? Are we really supposed to believe that? Give me a break..
I believe that the senju mixed with other non important or very small clans and shinobi that arent part of any clans the average hidden leaf shinobi possibly had a little senju DNA.
Enter Valhala Extremely likely. Especially when Konoha was founded, the Senju would have had more clans to possibly mix with. The only thing is though is that considering Hashirama knew Tsunade and she was roughly 50 in Naruto, that means it's likely the clan went extinct within 80 years TOPS. I'm not sure if that's that possible. That would imply the majority died out or many of the offspring were female and took the name of their significant other. Honestly it's most likely that the Senju weren't intended to be as broken as they were and so when they were shown to be extremely powerful, it was too late.

We deserve more on the hyuga clan cuz they teased us so many times. I do want to learn more about the uzumaki clan obviously, but there are others that also have been set up.
Id love to get more about hyuga, then uzumaki, and then sarutobi clan. Id like to get a little more about the the ino-shika-cho clans and how they came to be so close.
Really, i want anything with clans that have hiden abilities, dojutsu, kekei gengi, etc

Because they were never planned to be in the story. They were made up on the spot to give Naruto more plot relevance. If they were planned, you would think a villager or even a retired shinobi veteran would come up to Naruto and thank him for the services of his clan, but that never happened. Add to the fact the Uzumaki clan was kept from Naruto's knowledge for an ungodly amount of time it makes the decision to turn Naruto's family name into a full-blown clan all the more baffling.

imo, i would have loved to see Naruto travel to the Uzumaki homeland and learn of his fallen clan, and dive into the sealing arts that made them, his dad and mentor infamous as he grows. Hell even find a way to restore the clan as well (looking at the filler ladies who came to love Naruto, not just Hinata).

I want to see bavkstory for the hyga and uzamaki definately. I really like the uchiha clan but from day 1 of naruto they established in my mind the top clans in konoha. The Uzamaki obviously because of naruto, the Hyuga one of my favorite underated clans and thr uchiha. We only seen the uchiha history and slecial techniques and training proccess. Not to mention they mainly showed the influential leaders or characters from the Uchiha. I wish i could get the same from the Hyuga and uzamaki.

Nagato is an uzumaki, so he can learn toad sage mode perfectly like naruto. If Healthy 100% nagato + sage mode + both rinnegan, it would be overpowered
And he was abke to use both rinnegans w/o hashi cells while it obito had hashi cells and was only able to use only 1 rinnegan. Nagato could also be 10 tails jin!!!!!!

When the other Nations came after the uzumaki, did they get wiped with the uzumaki or did I survive i , senju clan help them or was just spectators , the land of yeti was destroyed

What if naruto uzumaki learned that they were other uzumaki members out there. It would been a different story if naguto, Karin, uzumaki knew that naruto is a relative and what thay should dun was naguto should whent good and help naruto with the uzumaki training and same goes with Karin uzumaki. What if naruto convinced them to turn good and help restore the uzumaki clan with naruto then it would be naruto,naguto,Karin uzumaki all family members. It would be madria vs naruto,naguto,Karin uzumaki with copy ninja, mighty guy, killer bee. It would be one good fight. This is just my thought on the subject. This one is focused on naruto shippin.
Thats a good idea but one problem, neither nagato or karin knew they were uzumaki or had a clan so idk about that uzumaki training, Naruto didn't know there was a clan till he met his mom and even then he wouldn't have thought there were anymore survivors, so unless orochimaru randomly blurts out karin's uzumaki heritage infront Naruto then neither one would know, its a bit to late for nagato cause the only ones who knew he was an uzumaki was madara and obito

Also the uchiha clan is overrated. Sure they had the sharingan, but the uzumakis were feared. They even had their own village , which needed several nations to kill most of them of. The uchiha were defeated by two of its own clan members.

The Uzumaki clan were basically a small village so not only were they strong they were plentiful, after their compound was destroyed alot of them spread throughout the ninja world.
nope, sorry. Whoever told you that was lying to you. The uzumaki clan was a thriving village with a large military force and considered powerful allies. It was explained in the series. What part of "powerful" clan do you not get?
If Naruto got the Rinnegan, he would practical be BEAST as he is now but waaaaaayyyy different.
I think some of the Uzumaki are in the Kara, since they are that powerful they can be with however they want and the hatred of them being pushed around may force them to join.
I would love to see Boruto incorporate the sealing chains a focus his fighting style on binding and the Hyuga clan fighting style becoming more of a support style/technical fighter to Sarada's Sharigan hand to hand style and Mitsuki's long range, plz don't make him spam Rasengans like his father

What should have happened was, Naruto should have learned at least some sealing from Jiraiya. Jiraiya, who was a sealing master and could have taught Naruto some tricks that would be useful and would have went a long way toward making him look more competent in early Shippuden. Perhaps if Naruto studied sealing back then he would have had a potential workaround for the seal Sasori used to delay them long enough for the extraction of the one tails to complete. Could have been game changing.
Uzumakin chain can be an amazing weapon, but the potential of using it is destroyed.
Strange how no one figured out that naruto was the 4th son, the only member with that clans name that had hair and a face like the 4th, that and the nine tail fox. Not bad writing just it's the same writing that made naruto not use the billions of shadow clones to do hokage work instead of just sending them to see his family. The lord third handled it better without shadow clones.
Rinnegan should’ve been a Uzumaki Kekkai Genkai & I will continue to stand by that. Kishi was just in love with the Sharingan smh.

Remember when we all thought the byakugan was stronger than the shaaringan? Then kishimoto decided to give the shaaringan the ability to control space and time, literally control tail beasts, summon some fucking 50 foot giant armour that can fight the 9 tails, summon a flame that doesn't extinguish and fucking see into someone's mind (which in my opinion would've been an ability more suited for the byakugan since it can already see inside people) instead of just leaving the shaaringan it as a jutsu copying mechanism. Smh

Give them and the few clan members that isn’t confirmed (to my knowledge) that we seen in “Naruto: The last movie” a clan area or hall & have them train intensely like how they already do & have more of them, making them a special clan. They don’t all have to be blood related just people who happen to can’t use Ninjutsu or Ginjutsu.
Or even simply techniques like the body flicker technique and have it mastered or taken to the next level like how Shisui did.
I wish when Boruto and Sasuke went back in time we got to see Jiraiya trying to teach Naruto some sealing jutsu but Naruto can’t but Boruto could. We know Minato shared some information of atleast the reaper death seal with the 3rd Hokage but he was closer to Jiraiya so he probably also shared it with Jiraiya, and why would he only share the sealing jutsu that KILLS the user? I believe the 3rd and Jiraiya both had access to some of the sealing jutsu. This would also be a nice way to have Boruto seem like more of a Uzumaki

@@oblivion2674 Naruto got control of his chakra control. We see him use fuinjustu (sealing jutsu) in shippuden. Naruto is an Uzumaki even more so than his son. Sealing justu was thier speciality and they where feared because. Why would Naruto not be good at something his clan is known for espeically when Uzumaki are known to have massive chakra

@@oblivion2674 He used the Tetagram Seal to unseal Kurama and to reseal him again then fully released him complete by his own choice. Minato and Jiraiya had this seal planned to be given to Naruto.
He also can use fuinjustu on weapons too as shown in the Gaara rescue arc he unsealed shruken from a scroll like Tenten
so i was climbing on a closet and one of the woods broke off, then i had this idea what if the uzumaki cland have this kind of pad that could make performing the ealing easier with less chakra and ranged

I think i that the Uzumaki clan should have had more of a story. There was so much lacking but I guess these are more ways to make Naruto OP.
