Don't know why everybody is hating. He didn't want to kill the new ninja swordsmen. Yes, Sasuke and Naruto are very powerful but that is because they are from powerful clans, they have the chakra of Hagoromo and they are Indra and Ashura reincarnates. But Chojuro is a good kage. Writing did him bad. He is the best at assassination and he is the best sword wielder in the whole of Boruto. It takes skill to be a member of the swordsmen and wield his legendary sword.

Man mastered the second hardest sword of the mist. He is probably the strongest mist swordsmen of mist ever he can store chakra in his sword witch can fire out chakra blast. He has crazy water style that’s so strong he could probably impress Tobirama senju himself.
Good enough for Jounin, not enough for Kage. On the other hand, besides Mei, we don't really know any other Kage level from that village, due to the lack of emphasis on the other villages.

@Hi im Killua Well, that defines what Kage level means. If we look at all the Kages throughout narutoverse history, pretty much anyone that we know something about is clearly stronger than Chojuro. There is only one exception here, and that it Kurotsuchi(whom I don't consider Kage level either). You either drop the bar for what Kage level means, in order to include these 2, or you just accept that they are not at that level. There is just no screen time for other shinobi from the Mist and Stone village, so they didn't have anyone to put as Kages. If we look at the Cloud village, we have Darui who has at least some stuff going on for him: he was blessed by the third Raikage with that black tattoo and he defeated Kinkaku and Ginkaku in the war, which is quite some feat.
@Hi im Killua If in order to be Kage level it's enough to be named a Kage not because you are sooo strong, but because everyone else in the village is sooo weak (and Mei probably got bored), then ok. Chojuro is Kage level :). If Chojuro and Kurotsuchi are the strongest in their respective villages, than it just shows how weak these villages have become.
Yes and Chojuro handpicked Kagura to be his succesor. Kagura is not remarkable either. The hidden mist don't have many good characters

In my opinion, I believe people keep saying he's weak is due to the fact that we are so used to seeing powerful characters possessing unique and interesting abilites while this guy just relies on his sword
I personally like his abilities though, very humble and down to earth, it may seem ordinary and boring, but skill wise he is very powerful
1. Guys Momoshiki is stronger than Kaguya, give the kage a break for Naruto and Sasuke being the only ones who could put up a fight

I think characters like Chojuro and this edition of the 5 kage come off as weak because they don’t seem intimidating or threatening at all. Even Gaara seems like he took a step back. But I think that has more to do with the writing rather than the characters actually being weak
I donno Gaara seemed a lot stronger at the start of Shippuden. He had that massive had chasing around Diedera and he brought enough sand to cover most of the village in seconds, Feats that rivaled Pain is scale but he seemed helpless against Madara. I mean Madara was the strongest until Naruto and Sasuke got their power boosts but it seemed like he should have been competing better with Naruto and Sasuke in terms of power and defense.

Having the sword doesn’t make you a swordsmen of the mist It’s a title given. Kisame is regarded as a former member as was zabuza they were rogue ninja when encountered in the story. He is the only swordsmen in the entire story that is actually a seven ninja swordmen when we meet him in shippuuden.
It got passed down to him when mangetsu died he was the only swordsman in his generation

Also without the Jougan (potentially one of the most rare and powerful dojutsu in existence), I guarantee you that Boruto would not have caught Momoshiki off guard. Boruto could definitely mop Shikadai in a one on one. Shikadai didn't even beat him. He was disqualified for cheating because he was lazy. Finally, it is pretty evident that you'll become kage level when you're the fucking MAIN CHARACTER.

I would love to see a fully assembled seven ninja swordsmen. I think he is a worthy Kage but he should have another nature chakra I would say a Kekkei Genkai but he has intense sword skills to make up for it.
Chojuro... the shame of the Mist. We need to go back to the bloody Mist era where Kirigakure produced legendary Shinobi like Kisame, Mei, Yagura, Zabuza, the rest of the 7 swordsmen and so on.

Being Kage doesnt always mean powerful. The title is the strogest in the village yes but there are Kage that are strong but more on the political side of things. The facts you listed here about Chojuro are amazing. Makes people think over how strong Zabuza truly was also and since Zabuza said Haku was stronger than him.... how strong haku really is....
What did that guy just say ??? When Tsunade became Kage there were arguably a few who were more skilled and “powerful” than her. Her brute strength and regeneration gives her an advantage yes. Also there were more skilled shinobis than Kakashi.

Yes he is, sasuke has a special sword and amps it with lightning release. Chōjuro used a regular broken sword to fight off 3 other mist swords... sasuke is stronger but chojuro relies entirely on swordplay where as sasuke relies on his sharingan to enhance his Taijutsu and ninjutsu on top of having an unbreakable sword he can amp with lightning.

At best he’s an elite jonin but not kage. But in a time of peace none of naruto’s generation from any village outside of Naruto, Sasuke, Gaara and maybe Sakura are kage level.
Temari, kankarou, Suigetsu, Omoi, Lee, Shikamaru and Sai are kage lvl
Rock Lee? No if that’s the case Guy is Kage level. Kankuro lost to Shino a jonin teacher, shikamaru thinking wise maybe but physically no. Suigetsu isn’t better than Chojuro so definitely not. Temari maybe but her wind scythe jutsu won’t protect the sand or the leaf from future opponents who are showing to at least kage level in threat.

I think that Naruto and sasuke are like cheatcodes, something that cannot be naturally achieved. Characters like this are the part of Naruto that was meant to be the main lesson of the story, busting ass over natural talent. It's a shame that characters like this are only seen fighting crazy shit and getting 1 shotted (momoshiki)
