8:00 Ah yes, the Hour of Twilight. When Argus appeared in the sky, signalling the time for the Old Gods to rise by sending their weapon, Deathwing, while the Burning Legion invaded.... wait what?
Sorry for the delay on this one, 9.1 popped in between. But here it is, part 2 of the story of Alexstrasza! Hope you enjoy and have an amazing week everyone
Thanks for giving this insightful look at my favourite WoW Dragon, Nobbel! Since Ysera's soul went to Ardenweald, and even "nasty ones" like Hakkar went there too, I wonder if that's where Deathwing, or rather, Netharion, ended up, slumbering away in a Wildseed somewhere, finally free of the Old Gods and their corruption. I hope so. Now *that* would be one heck of a reunion for Ysera!
As cool as that would be, I think Ysera is a unique case since Elune came out of nowhere and saved her soul. I don't think any other dragons go to Ardenweald, not from what we've seen at least.
@@mokarokas-1727 I think Ysera probably would have gone there either way because she is bound to the Emerald Dream and very much like a nature spirit. But the others I don't think would just automatically go there, seems more likely they would be judged differently.
I think if he is anywhere it's Revendreth. Or there might be a realm that is specific for Dragons, and Ysera being in Ardenweald is only because of Elune's intervention. We have to remember that the zones we see in Shadowlands are just a handful of the ones that exist. The Shadowlands has a near infinite number of afterlives, so the idea that there is one for Dragons isn't too crazy. Considering he was corrupted by the Void and driven insane, I don't think he would go to the Maw but maybe.
Oh, Blizzard actually went back on "Dragon's can no longer reproduce" ? That's good. That was a pretty BS thing to shove in, which didn't make much sense anyway.
Good job nobleman! For keeping us up with the lore and still waiting on the Arthas redemption quest ☝️! Uther gonna save him hopefully with a great reunion cutscene!
@@scr3aming3agle83 I mean yes, but also no. It was typical "two guys fall for the same girl" situation. The girl is gunna choose, and somebody is gunna lose.
I find the recent story development for Dragons to be extremely inconsistent and even annoying from Cata onward. Ingame and in most of outside sources we see how much Alexstrasza loved Korialstrasz yet in a single quest he gets the second spot for Y'sera. Now don't get me wrong, I always got the feeling that the Aspects shared a bond equal to no other and that for Alexstrasza and Y'sera this was even bigger, but if this is the case then where the heck was every1 when Y'sera died? Why none of the aspects joined to mourn her loss? Especilaly Alex should have been moved in a magnitude similar to when he lost her consort but (as far as I know) we got nothing about that.
One of, if not my favorite, characters in wow. I hope Shadowlands isnt the last time we see her ..even if she cant return to Azeroth itself for some time.
Last I checked they didn't Azuregos when we meet him basically said the children he had were his last.... which gives the implication that the had no way to reproduce anymore
I've always wondered if we will see Deathwing in the Shadowlands at some point, he's a dragon like Ysera and is the aspect of death. He's gotta be chilling in the maw with Garry
@@charmingtrainer Yes, but the Black Dragonflight is heavily void corrupted. They most likely went to the Void, just as Demons go to the Twisting Nether.

Alexstraza have gone through so much pain and sufferd so much so that if she can get back one person then im happy about that. And im also happy that Alextraza knows Ysera is "alive" in the shadowlands. She's still dead but she havent bin dealt permadeth so she's still "alive" in the shadowlands. I like dragons and wyverns and it was a dick move to sterelize them and basicly kill them all of just like that. But is that actually official that they revesed them being sterile?
They’re still sterile. My guess is that’s why Wrathion is looking for the Dragon Isles, might be a way to reverse the sterility there. For those that don’t know there is a quest you can get from island exhibitions that has you go to Blackrock mountain and you turn it in to a Blacktalon Agent. He tells you Wrathion is looking for the Dragon isles.
@@Helman114 - It was stated that when the Aspects lost most of their power after fighting Deathwing during the Cataclysm, all dragons also lost the ability to reproduce. But this doesn't seem to be entirely true in the end.
Korialstrasz is likely in G'Hanir, since thats where all winged creatures go upon death. It was destroyed during the War of the Ancients but Aviana restored it after the Cataclysm. Personally I thought a questline in G'Hanir would have been a perfect way to add flying to the Shadowlands. But instead we are just going to be given the ability to fly. Kind of lame in comparison.
lol, this is the fundamental problem with Shadowlands... It takes EVERYTHING we know about the afterlife, all different aspects of it, especially those bound to Azeroth in whatever way, and chucks it out the window. And instead of trying to explain or bridge the lore gaps, the writers will just ignore it and leave everything too complicated unexplained.
@@cameronmcewen9666 how can you make a false speculation?! It’s like a theory, it’s not true or false until its proven true or not. You have said multiple times Elune isn’t the Winter Queens sister yet here we are and you’ve been proven wrong. So get off whatever bs high horse you’re on.
The Wild Gods apparently go back through the Emerald Dream, which she watches over. While she probably can’t go back fully, she could probably contact Alex. Kind of expecting she will take the Winter Queen’s place though at some point.

I just had a flash watching this about the lore. Now one of the things I have a hard with is the weird lack of variety. I thought about it at the beginning when he talks about basically the Wrath plot. Do you notice how many treats there are to Azeroth, but also to each other plans? You have Maligos who is just mad and he's like fuck mortals I don't want a War of The Ancien happening. You have Ulduar and Yogg trying his best to break free or at least fuck with Arthas plans in some ways and maybe even Malygos to some extend. You have obviously Arthas that was doing things for him/the jailer. So many lore things melting into one fighting many threats at the same thing but also having unsuspected allies and smaller threats using the chaos. Idk I like how the lore was. So random and out of the box. It's like they use to make things and then wrap the lore around it.
I genuinely don't trust Alexstrasza or any red dragon for that matter, there's too many things she does that is morally questionable and keeps a lot of secrets that imho wouldn't have had much of a negative impact should the context of said situation be explained. 7:02 did her voice change? I remember her sounding older.
The Red Dragons are probably some of the few non assholes in WoW. At best they are arrogant. But unlike the entire Alliance, she doesn’t actually hold much of a grudge despite everything that the Old Horde did to her.
Most of it had to happen or otherwise greater threats wouldn't be exposed such as Yogg-Saron or even the Jailer. The existence of Nozdormu and the Bronze Dragonflight is a huge Deus Ex machina and it's a shame that Blizzard dropped the ball completely because of WoD and decided that only Chromie is worth the effort.
