Thanks a lot, happy to hear you like my videos and they may be helpful👍 thank you for your support, I'll bet you find the missing video on my channel👍 greetings to the other side of the world😅
It is. For me oils are easier to blend and build up in layers, acrylics are a bit more tricky here. But they are faster, so I prefer them for 1/35 figures.
Happy to hear it is helpfull 😊 my English, thank you very much, I am feeling more comfortable after a few videos now, but it's still hard😁 so happy to hear it's not that bad😊

Awesome work! I really like your style of painting. I'm transitioning from oils to acrylics for figures, and have learned quite a bit from your videos. Thanks!
Very good watching and learning experience. Nice pace of narration and good music, and excellent videoing. You are a brave man painting the eyes last… hope to see more 1/35 figures from you. Maybe you could try some Tamiya, Master Box or Miniart figures which lack the definition of resin and are more challenging to see how your technique works, which I am confident it does… ah, just saw your Dragon German paratroopers 😊
Thank you very much, happy to hear you like the figures and video🙏 painting the eyes last is helpfull to get a better feeling for the viewing direction of the figure, and with oil paints there can't go wrong much. They are easily to remove. Happy you found the German paratroopers video. I will start with a diorama soon with several figures from kits like Miniart, MB and Tamiya, so this will be way more challenging again😅
what a diorama love the overall layout and quality. Personally your painted figures look better than those from "nightshift" channel. btw, your voice reminds me of Boris Becker 😄
Thank you very much, really happy to hear😊 I would never feel like my figures look better than nightshifts, maybe too because of the usual self criticism. And I am not sure how to feel about the Boris Becker comparison🤣🤣
Thank you very much for posting this. I've watched this video many times and I feel ready to change some of the techniques I'd previously attempted but which left me still looking for something better. Your relaxed presentation coupled with your expertise has really inspired me, so thank you very much. May I ask if you deliberately choose a mix of paint brands for a specific purpose or is it simply the convenience of colours you have to hand?
Thanks a lot for your kind words, really happy to hear and gives motivation to continue 😊🙏 happy to hear that you learned a few things from my video. I usually prefer Tamiya paints for airbrushing and Vallejo Model Colour for brush painting. But if I don't have for example a matching Tamiya colour for airbrush I use anything I have and so on.
Thank you, fantastic tutorial. I am going back to painting 1/35 figures after 20 years and this is super helpful. Why you do not use enamel liner to outline the fine recesses?
Incredible work. I have the same figures and I'm going to try some of the techniques you describe. I'm eager to try using paint retarder to better blend acrylics, as you do so well.
Great work! Do you have a list of the paints you used? I know you showed most of them on the bottom of the screen but was wondering if you had them posted some where... thanks!
thank you very much for a detailed tutorial, and an amazing piece of craft. one quick question - what is the spray can you use from time to time on the figures like after putting them on the diorama?
Nice job on the figures. They look great. I would spend more time on the landscaping by airbrushing the groundwork, dirt, and vegetation to get more subtle variations and muted coloring to not have the colors so bright that they overtake the figures on the display. More light and shadow coloring would be helpful here. Also, by doing this, you can tie the figures into the landscape better to make the display feel more cohesive.
Thank you🙏😊 to the vignette, I made exactly these steps to get the colours that vivid, I like it and I think I brings some nice and fresh colours. The figures getting overtaken is to me part of the thing as they are as soldiers not supposed to stand out but to melt into the surrounding. I made a video to the vignette too where you can see the steps I made. But thank you for your thoughts🙏👍

Hi, got another question for you if you don't mind. What size brushes and brand are you using in the video? Many thanks in advance. P.S. The more I watch your videos the more I learn to appreciate your skill, I hope I can get results like yours one day ! Oh one more thing, do you varnish between acrylic to oil paints and steel it al, in at the end ?
Hi. I mostly use the Winsor & Newton Series 7 00 I show in the eye painting sequence. This is my favourite brush and I paint most of the figure with it. And I don't use varnish at any time. Just let the layer you apply before dry enough and you can work with the oil/acrylic paint over that. Only thing I would do is a matt varnish as a finish as the oils remain glossy for example. But that is rare. Good luck again👍
First of all I must say that your work is inspiring and I am following it step by step. I have one question: When it comes to outlining, do you use only retarder to dilute the paint? Or do you also use water or flow improver? And also, how much retarder, what ratio? Thank you in advance for your help.
Thanks a lot for your kind words, happy you like my work. For outlining I use only retarder, so the paint keeps workable longer and I can make corrections if needed. Of course you can use water or flow improver, but then the time to react ist shorter. Thinning ratio I would guess retarder 3 parts, paint 1. But that is often done by feeling and no law.
Thanks

Oh one more thing, do you varnish between acrylic to oil paints and steel it al, in at the end ?
Hi. I mostly use the Winsor & Newton Series 7 00 I show in the eye painting sequence. This is my favourite brush and I paint most of the figure with it. And I don't use varnish at any time. Just let the layer you apply before dry enough and you can work with the oil/acrylic paint over that. Only thing I would do is a matt varnish as a finish as the oils remain glossy for example. But that is rare.
Good luck again👍
Hi again, after you glued the heads on, what was the spray can you used and why ?
Thank you
Hi, this is activator spray. It let's super glue dry immediately, so you don't have to hold the pieces in position for long. Very useful 👌
