for anyone lookin at this in the future i actually figured out the cause of the stutters- Rain world hates being stored on external storage. I moved it to my main and it hasn't had issues since!
4:37 in that one you are supposed to use gourmands meal mechanic to get more points from the food, bit murder works as well. And in most of the other gourmand ones there is usually a way to craft with the resources given so that you don't need rng.
I don't know if people have realize this, but Survivor challenge 2 is a reference to Pac Man. 4 ghosts, 4 lizards, with one lizard being different from the others just like in Pac Man, and you have to collect balls to win
For the parry challenge its easier to just pin every spear into the wall so the scavengers can only hit you with rocks since parrying those count, there are 3 rocks at the very bottom of the room.
10:19 The water here is chimney canopy subregion sewer water of which is very difficult to swim in including for Eel Lizards which makes them sitting ducks. 11:45 It's very easy to cheese this challenge as though the Fire-bugs don't die in the void fluid they can't really swim in it making them easy prey once you throw them all in there and yeet the two void fluid bombs at them.
4:56 for this one you can spit up a mushroom ~10% chance and craft it with a rock to make a spore puff, much faster than trying to spit up a spore puff or spear/body slam the red centipede
@@Elkcrown I did it too, but the game doesn't actually count traditional parries as a way to complete the challenge. I actually didn't know that artificer could even parry originally when i attempted the challenge.
18:04 I heard stage 2 there and pretty much just did a double take and I agree on having more of those, as long as they're not long as fuck. my issue with the challenge is just when you get to stage 4, chances are you can do the first 3 consistently. and so it just becomes a 2 minute auto scroller to get to stage 4. where you die in 15 seconds because rng just decided fuck you.
i know this is a weird place to mention a terraria mod but i played the fargos souls mod and its eternity mode difficulty and the final boss the mutant (who has kind of similar attacks to sos at some parts and also forces you into a confined space) has two phases, but once youve died to phase 1 10 times summoning the boss will automatically put it in phase 2 which is an awesome qol change because phase 1 is basically free and just 2 minutes of waiting for the boss’ health to get low enough something similar could have made the sos fight infinitely more fun for me and id argue everyone if there was a checkpoint after phase 3. it wouldnt really change the difficulty of the fight but just make it a lot less tedious, which i feel like is the main reason a lot of people havent beaten challenge 70 rather than the actual difficulty maybe c70 would be too easy if you could skip to the actual fight but imo monotony isnt extra challenge, its bad game design. anyone with two brain cells would rather remember your boss fight as memorable and satisfying to master than a cookie clicker sequel having to go through an easy phase to get to a hard one is one of if not my biggest pet peeve with boss design so i am a little passionate about hating it. sorry if this came off as strongly worded as a result
i can say with confidence that mods DO EFFECT CHALLENGES. Rotund world made challenge 2 hell, or maybe its just a skill issue from me but either way it makes challenge 2 much harder than normal when you take longer and longer to get through pipes halfway through the challenge especially when you're too lazy to restart the game once when you want to do challenge mode, and once more when you want to stop because you want to keep rotund world.
12:40 My guess is that the game engine cannot keep up because of how dense the spawns are and it has to process too many enemies that aggro both on the player and each-other. I had stutters/slowdown too, but at first I thought it's because I'm going off on integrated graphics for now.
Im presuming its a larger issue with my game interacting with my system weirdly as I also get huge stutters whenever the AI of something is unable to path in regular gameplay. I should run the challenge and check the logs and see if its the same consolespam honestly
Idk, I never got issues on any challenges except 2 that were really severe: caustic vats (the spearmaster get an amount of points one with acid and all the green enemies) and target practice (the spearmaster popcorn cuttlefishfly one)
7:13 i actually didnt even know that arti's parries counted for this and thought only traditional parries counted cus the few times i tried it that way, the shit jus didnt count KEK (imo its the worst challenge)

I love how everything about your Challenge 24 description just equates to “forgot gourmand can craft stuff”
4:37 in that one you are supposed to use gourmands meal mechanic to get more points from the food, bit murder works as well. And in most of the other gourmand ones there is usually a way to craft with the resources given so that you don't need rng.
Unfortunate evidence that i am simply not a smart man...

10:30 the 'water' here is actaully mud, an effect you can see in a subregion called the gutter.
I completely misunderstood the parry one myself and managed to parry the traditional way 5 times and i was so mad because it wasn't working.
Champion for trying to parry traditionally,,,
@@Elkcrown I did it too, but the game doesn't actually count traditional parries as a way to complete the challenge.

Good luck beating challenge 70! (took me 8hrs to beat.)
