Shout out to Orbit & Tibro For protecting the Garden 👍🏾
The suspense is killing me , I so badly wanted to go in the garden and check on her plants. I hope all is well, Becky ❤
@@colleenbellscanadiangarden9180 same I hope everything survived
@@Utriedit215 me too ❤️
Consider planting flowers that attract pollinators, like marigold, in the empty spaces of the cinder blocks. Plus, they repel pests.
I cannot wait until you post your freezer bread recipes. I rarely make bread because so much goes to waste. Being able to pull what we need out of the freezer will be awesome. Thank you for all you do
You can still put them in the freezer after they are cooked too.
You can also slice the cooked bread before freezing. Then you only take out the slices that will be eaten😊
Did you ever get the recipes?
I was wondering the same thing. @@jrcgjhughes
I love your hat! When I make French bread, I put the loaf on a pre heated pizza stone and spritz the raw dough with salted water for a very nice crispy crust, turns out perfect each time
We encountered a snake at least 4ft. long this morning while working in my garden. My dog Honey saw it first and chased it off. I gave her bacon and eggs for breakfast as A big thank you.
Oh wow!
My evil mother in law had a German Shephard Star and a pom Binky both just destroyed snakes. Buffy got bit twice couldnt do antivenom.
@@tammyjones8102 I don't know what kind of snake it is and did not want her to be bitten. I called her back. I kept the hoe with me afterwards until I came inside. I was a bit nervous after seeing that.
Last year we had a garden snake in the house a friend caught it, but it bit him. A couple of days later I found that snake in the garage. I put a paper bag in front of him and he went in no problem. I released him in the woods. Haven’t seen him since
@@paulineparker3662 I would have vacated the premises had I seen that thing inside. U r a brave one!
Wow! Just sat and picked up my phone to check my messages while telling my husband “I’m in the mood to make bread tonight. Here’s Becky making bread, thanks for confirming it’s about time I get baking.
I LOVE YOUR GARDENING VIDEO'S BUT HAVE REALLY MISSED YOUR COOKING VIDEO'S.... LOVE ALL THAT YOU DO.
Thanks for your videos Becky! I would love a video on how you manage it all: baby Acre, the garden, youtube, work, etc.!
❤❤
I'm loving your new hat! YOU LOOK ADORABLE! The Stylish Farmer
Your dogs and Josh are awesome for protecting your garden. Also, that hat looks to be the perfect hat for you. You look lovely in it as well!!
Wow I just discovered your channel and I an obsessed. Your energy and your consciousness of no waste impresses me. Thank you for sharing.
Hat is so darn cute. Bread looks fantastic
Becky, the original garden with cinder blocks…. Consider filling the center holes of each block with soil and plant flowers for extra beauty! My sister did that and it looked awesome.
Great vlog, as always. You’re an inspiration in the kitchen like none other.
Love the new hat especially as it has room for a top knot 🙂. Thank you for taking the time to test these bread/roll recipes for us 😘
This is a lot of hard work.
Thank you for doing all this testing.
This helps out a lot of people that can’t do things like this.
I bet your house smells amazing!
You are appreciated!
Have a good one!
Girl there is never a time I don’t want my house to smell like bacon! It’s an amazing smell!
I agree I love smelling bacon cooking and the way the house smells afterwards❤❤❤❤
Thank you becky for all you do. Seriously you have brought so much joyment to my life. Not only M watching you but I've gotten my own garden love back. My son thinks i'm a nut
So… this is my first EVER comment on UA-cam. Just made French boules and lemon scones from the Bread Bible by Beth Hensberger. It is my go-to for anything bread-related. I so enjoy your videos even though you make me feel guilty that I’m not 30-ish anymore! Better late than never!
Spent the morning making homemade vanilla in antique jars . Made home canned strawberry jam and blueberry jams. All for Christmas gifts. Started a new batch of apple scrap vinegar. Now it’s a hot cup of tea and Becky time!
Hello, wel done, sound perfect. 😊
I bought a hat like that a few years ago to pack in my suitcases. I love it. Congrats on getting the breads figured out. That is awesome that you made so many different versions.
Tagging on to say I have a similar hat too for gardening and I love it! If the brim hits your shoulders too much you can kind of flip/ mould the brim on mine. Something Becky could try if hers continues to bug her!
Who wants bread and butter right now!
Your buns and bread look amazing .you did such a great job
You are precious! I love love to watch your enthusiasm and energy as you tackle your projects.
Hi Becky! Just an idea for you for your other garden with the grass. Definitely use the weed wacker around your edges try and go all the way down to the dirt, then use a push mower put it on mulch setting and use a bagger. Have a wheel barrel or something handy to dump your bagger out. I did this for years and it works great. Less work less often, and most importantly you don't spread grass and weed seeds all thru your garden. The shorter you keep it the better so that bad bugs don't breed in the tall grass and then attack your berries. I love your hat! I've been wearing a similar hat for 20 years and it really works! Another great video!
You should dry all the extra oregano and add it to your chickens feed. It’ll help their immune system 🤠
And placing the extra in the corners of their coop help keep the mosquitos and flies away.
Great idea
Just take up the trimmings and put into the run. Also get some deep bedding before the rains come in, wood chips, saw dust, spent hay. You have the perfect set up for a chick compost system.
This has been a fun process to watch. I do have to say that I am glad you are doing this for us because I would not have the patience to do it. Thank you for all your hard work. I am an empty nester so being able to freeze for later use is wonderful.
With the battery powered tools, Becky buy 2 or more backups. That way you can change it out and always have one or more fully charged. It helps keep continual work flow.
That's what we do as well
Hi Becky! Good to see you, as it always is. I'm actually testing one of YOUR recipes in the slow cooker right now! If it works out alright, I'll let you know what tweaks I made to it to make it work in the crock pot.
Fun video! Love the testing of bread and seeing the garlic beds too! Oh how I wish oregano grew like that at my house! 😊
The hat is adorable!
Oh Mylanta! Now I’m so hungry for fresh rolls!! Lol I started making my own homemade bread and rolls when I was 18 yrs old, and had moved out into my own place. The only problem was that I still wanted to eat like I did at home, so with lots of phone calls home, lots of advice, & my Betty Crocker Cookbook, I taught myself. I used to make the biggest messes ever too! I’d make homemade chicken and dumplings on a weeknight, just because I needed the comfort food. Haha It did serve me well learning to cook at such a young age, & my family definitely benefited over the years..lol Now my own daughters are calling to ask how to make their fav comfort foods.:) Great job, Becky!! 👍🥖🌷
Becky, have you considered using the hollows in the cinder blocks in the old garden as additional growing space? I’ve seen people use them to edge their garden beds, and then fill them up and grow strawberries, herbs, etc…
If you end up with a bunch of French bread again at some point another way to use them is to slice them but leave the bottom crust intact (sort of hasselback style?) and then slather garlic butter between the slices. I wrap it in foil and freeze. Then I can just put the wrapped garlic bread on a cookie sheet and pop in the oven when I need some garlic bread. I do this with individual rolls as well for when I I just need garlic bread for 1.
No that is a good idea. Thanks
Becky, just curious . Where is baby acre when you are filming all day and Josh is working?
I'd say she probably gets a babysitter when she is working. That is what most people do. Maybe grandma comes over the possibilities are endless.
Sounds great
I can think of nothing which can equal the scent of freshly baked bread. Thank you for the video!
The bread all looks amazing! If you ever have bread that needs to be used up, look up a few Strata recipes. Its similar to a quiche, but you pour your egg mixture over cubes of bread and bake it. Super delicious!
Or bread pudding mmmm blueberry
This us my first year attempting a garden! Honestly its all because you inspired me thank you so much for all the content 🙏❤
All the bread and rolls look great I have been trying myself for freezable rolls with no luck, I love your french bread recipe and will love to be able to freeze that also. I will be anxious for the recipes once you get your final result. Becky thank you for all you do in the kitchen and the garden, I have learn alot and it is so very much appreciated.
I think the smile on your face in this thumbnail is…
Thank you for the follow up video. I’m interested in this process and the final outcomes. Personally, I don’t have the confidence to do things like this. I truly appreciate the fact that you do, Becky.
The hat looks really good on you. My mouth is watering looking at the bread!
love the hat😊
❤❤❤ oh yeah bread Becky time! Love your hair in a high bun like this!
The hat is sooo adorable ❤
Great hat choice for garden work! Allows the heat to escape from head. I use them for my beach trips also.
Your attention to detail on your testing is impressive Becky. Can’t wait to try your winner! Thanks for all you share with us!
Every oven is not the same, depending on elevation. Your bread may turn out great, but another person may have a different turnout. I love your content!
French bead is a certain recipe, same as Italian, and also gets its name by its size. Italian IA wide French is more slender and I love both recipes. One is soft one is crusty. She's also doing adaptations. Meaning diff recipes. 😊 to each their own. Good thing she's eating it eh. I love it. Gonna do soem buns too. Good job girl. Love your vids
You can try freeze drying cooked ground meat. I've done that with taco meat and it's not bad and my picky 7 year old eats it without complaint! Just add a bit of boiling water! I haven't tried it with sausage yet though.
🥰 Becky Queen Multitasker + Boundless Energy! 💗
That has is so so sweet with that bow. I love it and you will get used to it ❤ much needed with the amount of time you spend in the south facing garden.
And this bread testing has me so ready for the final result 🎉😊 ty Becky and family ❤
I always put a trivet or potholder under my casserole dishes when they are straight out of the oven - I've had two shatter. Hot out of the oven placed on a cool counter 😢😢 I think it's the same premise as with canning jars.
Love❤ that you are doing this test that we can all benefit from. Just starting to bake bread and love your channel. Can't wait for finished recipe. Hugs from Nashville Tn
Just got my new KitchenAid stand mixer. I expect to make a lot more bread. I was using a bread machine to need my dough. I have serious arthritis and carpal tunnel. But these recipe testings really helped me eliminate the guesswork. Thanks for all your helpful information. You are a goddess.
I enjoyed kitchen time and the little gardening 👍💕
King Arthur website recommends baking first then freezing; activated yeast dies in the freezer over time. If necessary to freeze raw dough, increase yeast and only freeze for 2-3 weeks.
Love your hat! Your garden is growing so good! I can just imagine how your kitchen smells...Love & Blessings from Fla.
Remember, those dandelions are worth harvesting and dried. Roots, foliage and flowers are all valuable medicinal herbs, not to mention their nutritional value right when you need it most. It is really worth delving into this🙂 Anything from tinctures, jellies and even mead!
You are so right. I have bottles of flowers- roots leaves, mushrooms you name it, all vacumn sealed. I make salves, ointments and recently shampoo which is amazing. Doing deodorant next. My back to the basics started back in 2011 when 2012 was gonna be bad 😄 I researched so much and made a GO TO book. Everything you want in one place. No looking for where you wrote it down at, ya know right where to go 👍. I’m homestead Instead, was ready to do my channel and lost everything in the house fire , so I’m back to baby steps but love every minute of the basic simple life.
Love that Hat! and so enjoyed watching your product/recipe testing ❤
Becky your bread looks beautiful!!! Love your hat with the bow!! Looks good on you!!
Love your recipe for one hour dinner rolls! I added some sourdough starter too, and it worked great!
I Made the one hour dinner rolls and they were absolutely amazing. Thank you Becky.
Yummy looking breads! 😋😋
Loved the hat, looked great on you! 🥰
Hi Becky!! Your new hat made me laugh right out loud bc my daughter and I saw the same hat at Wal-Mart and were going to send it to you! I'm so glad our instincts were right and that you've got it covered now! LoL 😂 So proud of your boys and Josh for protecting your gardens. You've got an amazing family. Btw... Your breads made me really hungry. Thanks for all you do!❤
The egg wash is all that I do, and I have been making homemade bread for 30 years! I love your testing and will be taking notes! Thank you Becky for sharing.
It does soften the crust so if you want a crispy crust, hold the egg wash. Although it is beautiful!
Love the sun bonnet!
Holy smokes Becky. I just made the French bread recipe off scratch pantry. It is so good and so easy. Thanks a bunch for the recipe. Definitely a keeper.
Becky, after watching you use the electric pressure canner, I ordered one. It should be here next week, can't wait to use it.
Love the hat
Awesome progress & I hope your gardens weren’t ravaged by the deer! They work fast here at nibbling! Blessings to all 🤗💜🇨🇦
Love your video's . I know you don't want to show your baby online but you never talk about him either , how is he doing ??
Hi Becky, i often make Moroccan batbot filled with beef, chicken or tuna.. instead of baking the filled bread in the oven. We bake it in the pan. I think you really would enjoy bread that is baked in a pan (a pan with a thick bottem, like the iron skilled (if i typed it right?) There is a lot of Moroccan bread that is baked in the pan. It is called tasnift.
It is always such a pleasure to get a new visit with you!
Looks so yummy! Can’t wait to get the recipe! Thanks 😊
Whenever you get yourself a coffee it's such a great reminder to me that I'm due for another cup too lol....pause makes coffee resume.
Dogs are so amazing!! We have had a dog or two our entire marriage of 45 years. We only have 1 now and she barks at everything! LOL. I LOVE BREAD!! All of that looked soooo good!!
Interesting process of testing recipes. You should consider, that the duration that the dough is frozen influences the result as well as the duration the oven is been heated before baking. I don’t think you will receive the same result with different starting positions with bread dough. As much as I like the idea of being prepared for convenience purposes, Not everything is worth the effort.
But carry on testing, It’s a lot of fun watching you 🎉
Becky, your hat is adorable! I do love the opening on top for your hair. The bow is cute. Now that I have grown my hair out, like many people have due to covid 😂😂 I could use a hat like that. My son-in-law has the most beautiful naturally curly hair and I am jealous! Happy cooking and baking everyone, Debbie Lavigne ❤
I have that hat too! I like the hole for my ponytail or messy bun. I did need another one that has a train to block the sun from my neck and upper back. Like you, I usually wear my long hair up and was getting sunburned on my neck when gardening.
Bread baking class today! How much fun to learn by watching. Thank you.
Another great video!! I look forward to getting your final bread recipe- thanks for doing all the testing and tweaking for us.
I love the hat! Super cute and functional.
When making “stuffed breads” I let the bread rise again after stuffing and then bake off. :)
Cute hat Becky! Thank you for doing all of these videos. I really enjoy them!
Your chickens would have loved taking care of that garden for you. lol
That hat is adoreable. You look fabulous in it. The bow is the perfect touch to the back. Yes protection from sun damage is so important. I’ve been trying my hand at making sourdough starter and Amish bread starter this week. Can’t wait to see your best recipes
So I can use the starters with them. 😊
How’s Baby A and Josh doing?
I think if you freeze already pre-rolled dough for the pockets they’ll be easier thaw and use.
I have that same hat for when I work in my garden! I like that it's velcro, so it is adjustable! I never used an egg wash on my French bread, I always smear butter on top as soon as it comes from the oven. I'll have to try the egg wash 😊 thanks for sharing!
Interesting testing process. You could use your baked bread for more freezer meals. French bread pizza, breakfast sandwiches, French toast, etc.
Eggplant parmigiana hero’s or hoagies with the French bread!
I love the French bread recipe, we especially love the garlic knots!
I love homemade bread, so they all looked amazing to me, but I see what you are saying about the perfect one springing back completely after pressing on it. Now we just need some homemade butter to go on a slice. Yummy! Mouth watering......
i have cinder block edging like you do and i filled the holes up with growing medium and have planted herbs and low growing flowers for the pollinators and with the different herbs thay act as a pest deterent for what i have planted in the garden beds
Hi Becky. I’m feeling inspired to make / bake bread. It will be the first time for me I bet your kitchen smells Devine there’s nothing like the smell of bread baking. It’s 11.20 pm here in England I should be asleep but all I can think about is bread. And thank you for your knowledge and guidance. 😊
Thanks for sharing 💜🙏🏼
I get so excited to see one of your new videos. YOu are one of my top 3 favorite must-watch UA-camrs!!
Can’t wait to try your bread winner! Thank you for all you share with us! I love your channel! 🥰
Your house must smell amazing with the breads!
I have all Ryobi yard tools because they are so light and don’t hurt my back. Multiple batteries are a must though. All of mine are interchangeable to include my other tools.
...and the suspense grows...bread saga 2023 😁. That chicken pocket looked so good! I think I involuntarily opened my mouth a little when you showed us the inside. Sort of like you were feeding us 😂!
love this. It is so much fun to watch and guess which is going to be the winner. Can't wait to see the final recipes.
Your hat is adorable , also easy to put on and take off....
Have you thought about making black garlic, it's so smooth and decadent. It's almost like eating a rich chocolate, the one I get from the store is a single head blub and it is the polar brand. So delicious 😊
There are other factors that influence baking products like quality of the ingredients, temperature, humidity... It's a science:)))
36:18 Becky posing in her new garden hat. I replayed the pose several times. So adorable. I wish it was the thumbnail for this video. I have the same style hat I love it for walking my dogs but no chin strap. Which is unfortunate bc a gust of wind hits me and this hat is gonzo.
Binge-watching your amazing videos. Thank you! 🌻🦋 God bless you and yours sweet friend!💞
