I guessed each bar probably represented 2 inches . Now i know for certain . Thanks for also adding the extra details about coil size and ground conditions .

Thank you for your informative videos. Another very useful tip for the depth gauge is when you seem to get an erratic signal. If the depth indicator remains constant then it is probably junk however if the depth alters with the different numbers it may indicate multiple targets. Cheers John

Thanks John - good tip too! I’ll definitely keep that in mind and test it out!

Another cracking and helpful video and the double bounce explained, cheers. Still getting use to may 800 but keep defaulting to my old Whites DFX simply because I know it well and it finds the deep silver I want it to find while on grass or pasture. But watching your videos gets me out TRYING and LEARNING with the NOX 800 instead. Your earlier video about cherry picking the shallow modern coinage certainly worked. Got £7 in new pound coins and 4 older, generally slightly deeper (no longer spendable) pound coins in around 1 hour on an area of grass where the local dog walkers go. That tip on gauging the depth of targets I was unsure of like squashed cans (can slaw) certainly saved me a lot of pointless digging to. If I'd had longer to search I've no doubt I'd have found more coins. Keep these videos coming Steve. Nice to know you guys in Australia get rained off too lol.

Fantastic! Happy to hear you’re finding the videos useful, and digging up some nice finds. It certainly takes some time to learn the Equinox 800, but once you do, it’s a very powerful machine! Having said that, there are some exciting new machines out now that give us a whole new learning curve! Happy hunting!

We were digging in playground sound and got to around 18 inches deep and stopped. I’m going back with a shovel. But for real the target depth at 18 in is deep. For just scanning the local park and playground etc…

Sounds like large iron, or maybe one of the metal base plates for the play equipment?

My Sovereign will find a coin down a foot at the beach in wet sand. The 800 is real good for finding a key that was just dropped on the surface.

I bought the 800 and it will air test a quarter at 4 in. if I move the quarter fast. About the same as the $19 Radio shack detectors I bought for my kids years ago. I'm kind of disappointed. What a waste of money

Your experiences with the 800 might be a setup issue, as I’ve found coins well over a foot deep many, many times. Check your recovery speed, as increased depth will come if you reduce it to 3-4, and do not swing too quickly.
