    INTJ here. It's not that I don't care, it's that I didn't realize that others cared so much. I wouldn't treat people horribly, but I don't know what they consider horrible. Half of the things I consider horrible are things other people find acceptable, and vice versa. If you try to even ask about them sometimes, they may just think you're horrible for not knowing and agreeing already. It may even just be a miscommunication, but F often has no patience for what doesn't fit the mold the right way. There's a lot of things that are ok, but if you're so much as perceived to have stepped on one that's not considered ok, whether you actually did or not, and you'll be stricken down like a dog. Now, sometimes that's warranted, but sometimes it's not. Personally, ever since I was a child, I put my own emotions aside to find the truth, and I made the reasonable assumption that other people are similar to me, but boy was I wrong. To me, my own emotions are like a mechanical function of my body. It really doesn't even have much to do with me. It's just a process that's built in. I didn't realize that pretty much everyone else sees it as a part of who they are. To me it's like breathing. It really doesn't have much to do with me as a person. It's also always been obvious to me that I can change how I feel about something if I just decide to entertain a different set of patterns or thoughts about it. For example, I'm a Christian, so let's say a fellow Christian dies. Is it happy that they're going to Heaven, or sad that we're going to miss them for a while? I could either cry or cheer, depending on how I consider it. So, emotions are a function, and they don't define me at my core, and despite what others may think, emotions don't define them either, even if there's a heavy emphasis on them in their lives. They're a part of your human functioning.
    I've learned a lot about it over the past few years, but only because I finally found out what Fe even is. It wasn't like it was something I understood but just ignored. It was a total alien concept to me until well into adulthood. Growing up, it just felt totally random what people would take offense to. There's a hundred different ways to say the same thing, but people will generally take offense to some of them more than others, and that wasn't obvious to me, because what I respond to is the meaning, and not the package that it was delivered in. So, I didn't even know where it was coming from, and it's not like they were going to explain it in a way that I was going to understand it. And, to explain one particular way it would play out sometimes, because they think it's an attack, even though it's not, they attack back. In essence, from my perspective, I'd have a chill conversation with someone, and occasionally get attacked by the person I'm talking to at random. In reality, I care a lot, and I'm pretty much always trying to be good to people, so that would actually hurt. Due to the random-seeming nature of it, I couldn't even correct my behaviors for a better outcome, and it would cause a general anxiety about dealing with people. I've gotten a lot better at understanding F now, but there's still a bit of worry that I'll just get randomly ganged up on by people who think they're all in the right and won't spare any consideration for my feelings. I think F types need to understand how horrible F can be to non-F types. F is just going to tell F that F is lovely all day long, while stomping down what it sees as enemies, and T is directly opposite to F, so it's almost magically distasteful to F, no matter how innocuous it is.

      Yeah to an INTJ those humanoids can just be the WORST wheel of furtune / minefield rude emotion/hivemind avatars 🤣 Honestly I never had the tools to understand them (instead ranking them on the smart/real/consistent scales) until I decided to dive deeper into MBTI and now in my 40s everything changed.

      That's because there is things commonly and collectively seen as horrible and disrespectful according to an average level of sensibility and emotional intelligence you can still learn through experience by observing how people emotionally react to things. You can start to see a pattern. Then there is oversensitive people and undersensitive people according to this average level, leading to snowflakes and psychopaths for the most extremes.

    Lmao I'm a dead 50% split between INTJ and ISTJ. There is some truth here: When people tend to go purely off of feeling without assessing the overall situation (thus substituting reality with their own - probably flawed - perception), that's ... when I start losing patience faster than normal.

    To continue, consider his example of an Infp or an Intp (my type) having Se as their blindspot function. When a type leads with an introverted decision-making function, either Fi or Ti, the easiest thing to focus on is decisions about their inner world. If their natural way of processing outside information is abstract from Ne, that means a double strike against Se, because it is both extroverted and concrete/sensory in nature.

    Don't worry, my ENFP brain is very capable of overthinking myself to death, and I don't feel like I lack depth (maybe I do, who knows?), but I rather struggle with following a thorough and consistent procedure to do anything. I often don't really care about what the facts are precisely, as long as I get what they mean/how they are interconnected. I have trouble with purely dissecting the logic of a single concept in my mind. I need to be exploring constantly when it comes to ideas, or to confront it to the real world and to other people (rather Te than Ti). On the other hand, I can process deep emotions within myself, or focus really deeply on the thought of a person, a movie, or anything really, as long as it has to do with morals, emotions and values. I can spend hours, even days alone in my thoughts figuring out how and why I like something, but my head starts steaming when I try to solve a puzzle. Basically. haha

    I have had an interest in MBTI and other interpretations of Jung's cognitive functions for pretty much two decades now. While what is mentioned here is not new information for me, I do find this content creator's style to be amusing and unique. Anyway, I have asked myself, why is it that the cognitive function with opposite attitude of our type's tertiary/third function be the so called blindspot/polar function? I decided the answer lies in the activity of what is the dominant/first function of our type.

    Oh yeah that's most likely true for me as an INFJ because; I just hate when people go completely off in a totally heartless practical and logical view of things and forget any form of respect for human beings, forget to check if others are okay and crush people on their path. For a logical view that is most likely nonsensical to pursue in the end if nobody can be happy out of it. That's definitely when I'll get up and will genuinly get angry.

    • @godKiller.369
      @godKiller.369 25 днів тому +1

      That is very interesting because as an INTJ I also want long term happiness and functionallity, but I get really angry when the hivemind is crushing people and ideas.
      (Tho I share your view on unrestricted Te too and am careful not to go there myself)

    • @kyurei4478
      @kyurei4478 25 днів тому +1

      I see. But the community mindset is usually just acknowledging the fact that some ideas can't apply to most and you can't keep people alongside you if they can't fit in cause it undermines the whole group's potential so it can't be beneficial for most.
      Of course I understand what you're saying though and I'm also careful not coming to such extreme.
      Although, wanting people's long term happiness and functionality means listening to what will actually make people's long term happiness according to them by asking them and listening to what they really desire.

    • @enlightenedglass7879

      Actually if you think you have low Si and Te (these functions are focused on order), I don't think you're an INTP. INTP has a mathematical, systematic thinking and it's like solving puzzles. It's not that INTP WANTS chaos- if you try to solve a Rubik's cube chaotically, you won't solve it because there are much more wrong ways how you can try to solve it then the right ways. Ne is chaos- but INTP STARTS with chaos. Ne is like having for example 1000 pieces puzzle on the table- it's chaos of having a quantity of fragments of information. INTP connects those pieces together. INTP takes all the parts- even the smallest (Si) details to create the whole- for example you have numbers 1 to 1000 randomly placed on the table and you line them up from 1 to 1000. INTP doesn't have Te but INTP has something similar to Te. Te is like a quantity of boxes so Te devides: this information belongs to this box, this information belongs to this box... Te+Si is very systematic, INTP has Ne (chaos) between Ti+Si which is also very systematic- it's 1 box/system. INTP puts all the Ne pieces of info into his 1 giant Ti framework.

    I don't know if this is a blindspot issue, but the Te blindspot example mentioned here reminds me of my INFJ colleague who keeps and carries around all kinds of stuff for "just in case" situations - like for example keeping at least one extra pair of pants, socks and shoes in her office drawer just in case one day she would accidentally get caught in the rain (even though she always brings umbrellas everywhere and it's usually not that big of an issue where we live) 😅
    Compared to my own perspective (ENFJ), even though both me and her are likely to check the weather forecast in the morning, I would only carry an umbrella if it seems more likely to rain that day, and if I happen to accidentally get drenched in the rain, my day won't be ruined (which I suspect would throw my colleague's entire day off off orbit 🤔)

    • @kyurei4478
      @kyurei4478 25 днів тому

      As an INFJ, I can tell it wouldn't necessarely be the end of the world for your INFJ colleague but since INFJs we're more prone to anticipate things and negative consequences, we just think why not trying to prevent it if we can? So we'll take the extra measures so when the problem will arise, we won't have anything to do because we already anticipated everything and are prepared for everything. If you can be prepared, why not be after all? That's more just a Ni thing rather than a problem with Te. INxJs don't like the unexpected.

    I'm officially an ENFP, but this blindspot description doesn't appear to match me. I have deep thoughts all the time. I used to tell people my thoughts, but people said, "Ow, this is hurting my brain. Stop overthinking!" So I stopped telling them my thoughts. Except my dad (an ESTP), who I can have deep conversations with.
    I also strive to form a consistent moral framework. I'm still working on it. I've got the foundation (love God and love others as myself), but the rest I'm still working on uncovering.
    However, I'm 51% ENFP and 49% ENFJ (my cognitive stack starts with Ne then Fe). And while I don't have a cult, I am certainly working to start a business-- a private school based on the Sudbury model-- and have a history of forgetting to take care of myself.
