@@SusanDaIntrepid Oh man, I don´t mind feelers, but can they please just put their ego aside and accept logic? Cognitive dissonance is such an important concept. You can totally align your feelings and thoughts based on logical facts and concepts.
Self growth is great, but outsourcing things other people are better at and focusing on your own strengths is more efficient than trying to do all the things yourself when you suck at them ;)
In addition to, or perhaps in relation to, broadening one's own range of competency, I believe it's important to understand the eight functions as a way to gain a better understanding and appreciation of people whose preferences are different from one's own. It could help us to understand others and explain ourselves to them in a way that could help mitigate conflicts and find ways to work with and relate to one another in more constructive and mutually beneficial ways.
I am strongly aware of my Fi. It is the one function I am sure I use a lot. Lol. My mom uses Fe, and she has taught me how to uses Fe, but I always revert back to Fi.
ENFP - Love my Ne, rhymes with knee, sometimes creates knee jerk reactions. Allows the simultaneous probing of multiple stimuli in the external environment. Means I can be focused on you but also have my attention split off focusing on something else. Don't take offense, I'm still focused on you.
Ohhh this is the video I've been waiting for, dude the entire time I was just chatting in premiere-chat area lol Thank you :D I plan to make some timestamps of the functions a bit later
Si is just a precise internal scope. Si can be related to the five senses, active self awareness, or internal identification of a specific thing but what that thing is is not determined by Si. identifying and organizing things in reality (external world) is SeFe-Ti or SeTe-Fi, not Si.
So many descriptions are vague, but this video was great. INTJ matches me best without a doubt, based off of these function descriptions. I've occasionally questioned other IxTx types (not that this really matters at all). I think this whole typing community is full of stereotypes that cause a lot of confusion.
This was an excellent way to explain the 8 cognitive functions. And it's interesting how a team with different personalities can really cover each other's weaknesses with their strengths. As a E/INTJ, I appreciate healthy Fe users. I believe my Mom is one, and she is a counselor, so I think I learned some Fe from her. I think that's been helpful going from being socially awkward as a child to the guy at work that gets along with everyone. I'm not everyone's best friend, I don't necessarily hang out with them, but I'm able to work with them. I'm not sure I could do that so easily as a kid.
Very cool video I am not going to post allmy stats here but love the video INTJ come in all flavors just like everyone else. Good to see people being educated on this topic.
I hope one day we get to chat through your snugg platform, and I know this comment is quite post dated, but how you just spoke about Fe hit in some kind of way. Very grateful for you sharing your thoughts.
I actually liked you when you said " Si users would say x+y=z but as an Ni user x+y can be equal to a different thing if we change the perspective " As an INTJ , I have a lot of trouble with Si users .... they are so small minded when it comes to different possibilities.
I still struggle to understand the concept of "subjective logic". logic itself implies that it should be objective. but let's say I won't go further into that, and my question would be this: Does a Ti user try to justify their possibly irrational position by saying "my personal opinion is this, therefore the logical thing for me to do/think is that", as opposed to a Te user who would say something like "I know that this will be irrational, I have no objective justification, but I feel the urge/need to do this or that"? but then again, any need or feeling can also be rationally explained, and if a Te user is going through the process of understanding ones own core feelings or subconscious motives, does he use Te or some sort of "artificial" Ti? would this imply that Te can be even more self-aware, hypothetically?
Very true for Ni. I hold a patent for software that connected a few different pre-existing systems. Each system was already 'out there' doing its primary function but no one had thought to leverage (abuse) one of the system's function for a wholly different purpose that could feed other systems to work better. System made $100M for the company that I worked for and owns the patent; I got a $2,000 bonus (and bragging rights)
It becomes more and more clear to me that my type is probably the INFJ with Ni, Fe, Ti and Se. Maybe ISFJ, but that’s Ne and I don’t see that fit very well for me. Thank you so much for this very informative video!
I am seriously going to hire an Si dominant personality to help with my filing, form creation, etc. I hope they won’t mind taking a personality assessment during their interview. lol
Thanks for this sis, I'm an INTP but I thought I also might be an INFP because Fi and Ti are so similar to each other So after I watched the video I'm now certain that I'm a Ti user :)
Let's suppose that the key to having a good and productive relationship with yourself and others is through being open, seeing yourself and others anew, looking for what you haven't seen before in yourself and others. And I think that is the key. We like when others are open to us, interested, curious. We hate to be categorized or defined. The question then is, does Meyer-Briggs promote openness or kill it? It seems clear to me that Meyers-Briggs is fundamentally definitions and categories and extremely general ones. Once you define yourself, or others, you're no longer open. It doesn't matter what cognitive process you used to create the definition.
@8:40 might sound confusing but if you've ever played devils advocate for the sake of gaining even greater understanding, you'll get it :P I just had a chat with my buddy who thought I was pro a negative aspect of humanity, but it ended well where I finally explained that my opposing take was almost sarcastic or exploratory rather than taking a hard stance in a debate sort of way, I was able to make him understand that it was an exploration.
Okay so, this is unrelated to this video, but how does an ENFP-INTJ relationship naturally like to initiate itself? like what goes into that first spark of chemistry and ultimately how does it evolve from friendship to something serious? Maybe share your story with via your comment, refer me to a link? or maybe make a video on the topic? I just want your best answer. Although this is personally driven inquiry, I think this could offer great insight not only to the other ENFPs who visit this channel but even other INTJs who may be able to relate to your answers like they usually do. Thanks for your speedy answers too, I really appreciate that interactive aspect of your channel. You're the only UA-camr I know of so far that is this mega on top of getting back to the fans.. keep doing what you're doing! : )
I think enfp has the ability to effortlessly move and "loosen" the intj and also provide a certain feeling of protection and safety (psychologically, perhaps even emotionally)
@@ThePitchblue Hey, thanks for the comment! So me being an enfp, i agree with that statement completely. we do tend to loosen people up in general, and we love when that happens. Seing people go from hardly talking to cutting up with each other truly fulfills and satisfies me. Like you said, It is certainly effortless and somewhat second nature to move around our social environment in a way that keep things exciting, alive, and energetic.
@@BoldTakes energetic, yes. if I were to look at it in terms of energy, I would say that your type has more kinetic energy, while introverted types have more potential energy. when these two collide, they fit quite well and the bottled up energy of (in this case) intjs gets released and starts to flow and spread outside of their stiff boundaries. I am basically repeating myself, but that's fine I hope.
10:22 Ah... I'm old-school. I can do small sales pitches things to people in my supermarket simply from overhearing a buzzword or if they tell me what they want. That said: I prefer to be in food retail rather than sales where transactions happen quickly, and you can instantly close a sale. Sometimes they would tell you exactly what they want and you just give them the items, so long as we have stock available.
So that was Ni I was simulating! So me and my friend (IXTJ) were playing this puzzle game called Color Zen (it's free on switch btw), when we were stuck I thought about the win condition and I started walking back from taking peices of the situation and working out a solution. It was very mentally taxing though. I'm an ISFJ (or at least I'm pretty sure I am) so it's pretty far down. It's unnatural to me, but it's pretty useful. Do you have any videos about simulating functions or if not, can you make one? How much can I improve my ability to simulate a function? Is it even worth it?
I find this all very interesting. You keep mentioning "stacks". Have you done a video explaining stacks? If not, can you please do one in the future? In the meantime, I will subscribe and check out your blog. Thanks.
This whole methodology is so autistically monolithic for no reason. For example: why does the 4th have to be the "opposite" and not an "8th"? Or why does the 3rd have to be the opposite of the 2nd for no reason?
Your videos are longer now (I like the new modality 😎😋). On another note, I think we could be on a similar struggle with Fe (I hate people), but if *Fe*ing will help me conquer the world, then so be it. Also, can I please have Ne in my stack? I mean... It's pretty fantastic any way you look at it, I can never make myself think of multiple concepts at once for too long, I tend to go back to the same one at the end of the day 💔💔
Yes the Fe struggle is real! My videos are longer when I need them to be in order to explain things. Some shorter ones will still be integrated :) And yes Ne is so cool! Way cooler than my crazy Ni lol
@@hannahmathilda7101 But it is still cooler, because your brain can manage that internal chaos, whereas I'll get too exhausted very quickly and will want to go back to the "known territory" to recharge my batteries and I'll never want to know what else is out there anymore once I get the one concept that works for me haha (btw, I'm assuming I have Ni but I don't really know though it could be likely 😒)
Valerie Tuckler But I never get anything done :( Let’s both agree that although there are wonderful features in Ni and Ne, there are also terrible struggles and consequences when one relies solely in it.
I also believe we should work on our weaker parts to become better, so question why do you think INTJ's want constant growth, change and optimization? Is it because of the top functions Ni Te.
Question: as INTJs, why do we kind of like using our Se function (challenging ourselves by listening and being present without mentally wandering), but we tend NOT to like using our Fi function so much (when Fi is 3rd in our stack and Se is 4th)?
I think the main difference between N and S could be this... When you say "x+y=z in this instance, and that's this instance but if you look at it another way it could equal r or q so what way are you looking at it?" I (se dom) would respond "x+y=z, and I'm looking at it that way because I'm trying to figure out w. If I need to use a different equation to get w I will but that's what I've got right now"
Brett Delatte OG man I mention it in some earlier videos. A few years ago I encountered an issue with myself - the inability to respond in a situation that required Fe. I thought I was distraught by this lack of ability in my own self I went seeking to solve the problem. This is where I ended up!
Lol I never thought of savior Se as being cooler than inferior. My pastor is ESFP and he is not that cool. Sure, everyone likes him and says he's cool but overpowering Se is not cool where it counts. How can you be cool when you've jumped off a cliff just for fun? You're just dead at that point. I'd rather have a living cool person to hang with.
Also I've been going into my INTJ lately just to try it out. It's really good at winning Yahtzee and Miles Borne to the point that I feel bad for my fellow players. I tell my self "I'm getting four sixes, If it's not four sixes then it's zero on yahtzee this turn." "But I might get yahtzee later I like yahtzee yahtzee is cool wah wah wah" says my Ego. "I'm getting four sixes. Four sixes will win the game. Yahtzee is not a high probability." I don't exactly enjoy playing that way but my good performance helps keep my ego from being bruised. It did piss off my INTP dad to no ends, he's used to being the more practical player. He thinks the typing system is dumb but I wonder if he would if he knew I used it to whoop his but.
All I learnt from this video was I use all of these functions depending on which one is required... I also don't see how Te can't just replace what most of the other functions can do. I.E I can just find patterns in people and behaviors, whats trendy and whats not with Te, I don't need Fe to do this. Same with Te being able to replace Sensory functions, if you work out what works, thats essentially what Se and Si is also trying to achieve? Also Ni seems like it can also be replaced with Te as figuring out what works is the main objective of Ni.
I think your video would be awesome with some visuals, even if its just the title of what you are talking about. Just a suggestion :) this was very informative, thank you. -INTP

@@SusanDaIntrepid Oh man, I don´t mind feelers, but can they please just put their ego aside and accept logic?
Cognitive dissonance is such an important concept. You can totally align your feelings and thoughts based on logical facts and concepts.
@@SusanDaIntrepid Wars are caused Te users, not hippies.
Very informative video. Thank you for the succinct explanations of what these different functions are.
Glad you find it useful!
So helpful, your examples were great!!
In short...chaos
Haha I get it!
@@hannahmathilda7101 Chaos that makes sense if you're us!
@@mattblom3990 🙋🏾♀️ENFP here. I love me a bit of chaos. Keeps the day interesting.😎😉
Ohhh this is the video I've been waiting for, dude the entire time I was just chatting in premiere-chat area lol
Thank you :D
I plan to make some timestamps of the functions a bit later
Joseph yay!!
You don't know how much I relate to you and how much we have in common, LiJo.
Btw, I always love how you explain informations in great details. 👏
Sly Owl 🦉 glad you find it beneficial and relatable!
Great Video. This video is going to be my guide for a long time
My Fi uses the language of Fe because I project my own feelings onto everyone else instead of actually collecting information about how they feel 🙃
i relate!
Thank you so much for making this video Lindsay! Would you kindly make a video on day about reasoning between Ti and Fi users?
Lijo Lijo Lijo!!! Virsaviya came to visit and I’m like amazed haha type twins haha. But, I’m here to relock these things down.
Very smart. Thanks.
Binged all day on your videos. They're very helpful. Best out there, imo.
Thanks so much Ray
I love this channel!! it's so painfuly relatable, with all of its abstracts and pleasant depths!!
Very cool video I am not going to post allmy stats here but love the video INTJ come in all flavors just like everyone else. Good to see people being educated on this topic.
Yes we do! We are pretty cool once you get under the surface :)
I hope one day we get to chat through your snugg platform, and I know this comment is quite post dated, but how you just spoke about Fe hit in some kind of way. Very grateful for you sharing your thoughts.
Happy to do so anytime it’s convenient or the time is right for you :)
This was so helpful and clarifying! Thank-you :)
Outstanding job at explaining. subscribed (y)
Poetry & MBTI are languages I do not speak. I cannot comprehend either, ever. Thank goodness I’m an INTP and I have many other things to do…
Lindsay, you are beautiful within and without
Well shoot thanks so much.
I actually liked you when you said " Si users would say x+y=z but as an Ni user x+y can be equal to a different thing if we change the perspective "
As an INTJ , I have a lot of trouble with Si users .... they are so small minded when it comes to different possibilities.
X+y =z
X can be any number
Y can be any number
Z can be any number
Huh? What am i even talking about
8:30 And it is usually right around that point that I get asked to leave :)
Yess! Love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks Sofia!
Great explanation, also I love your hair! :D
Thank you!
that was really enlightning! thank you so much
Very true for Ni.
That’s amazing! I want to know more about your software!
It becomes more and more clear to me that my type is probably the INFJ with Ni, Fe, Ti and Se. Maybe ISFJ, but that’s Ne and I don’t see that fit very well for me. Thank you so much for this very informative video!
Thank you my lovely friend, I love t Learning read I never forget we can do the things together good luck.😁😉
Adams Teguera yes!
I am seriously going to hire an Si dominant personality to help with my filing, form creation, etc. I hope they won’t mind taking a personality assessment during their interview. lol
Thanks for this sis, I'm an INTP but I thought I also might be an INFP because Fi and Ti are so similar to each other
So after I watched the video I'm now certain that I'm a Ti user :)
it's amazing how I was typing my coworker (shift menager in mcd) as isfj and you talking about Si actually mentioned fast food xD
Just found your channel. This is a great video. You've got a new subscriber
Very well explained...awesome
Let's suppose that the key to having a good and productive relationship with yourself and others is through being open, seeing yourself and others anew, looking for what you haven't seen before in yourself and others.
And I think that is the key. We like when others are open to us, interested, curious. We hate to be categorized or defined.
The question then is, does Meyer-Briggs promote openness or kill it?
It seems clear to me that Meyers-Briggs is fundamentally definitions and categories and extremely general ones.
Once you define yourself, or others, you're no longer open. It doesn't matter what cognitive process you used to create the definition.
I agree, the stereotypes also don't help. I know some people who try to live up to them, I don't know why but they do and it's not healthy
@@applicableapple3991 what stereotypes
Immediately skipped to Fe and was not disappointed. You're a gem.
Awesome video!
New on this channel and finally I have the means to understand your language :D
.... smart gal
Super interesting and informative video
@@BoldTakes whoops, your comment disappeared?
@@ThePitchblue yeah, i thought it was too weird
I have one on “how to Te better”
I find this all very interesting. You keep mentioning "stacks". Have you done a video explaining stacks? If not, can you please do one in the future? In the meantime, I will subscribe and check out your blog. Thanks.
Yes! Like 2 videos prior to this one :)
This whole methodology is so autistically monolithic for no reason. For example: why does the 4th have to be the "opposite" and not an "8th"? Or why does the 3rd have to be the opposite of the 2nd for no reason?
Excellent . This could be useful to type people too . If they refuse to type themselves and then tell me their results lol .🤔
Haha yes it should be helpful in that area!
Omg this helps alot
Your videos are longer now (I like the new modality 😎😋). On another note, I think we could be on a similar struggle with Fe (I hate people), but if *Fe*ing will help me conquer the world, then so be it. Also, can I please have Ne in my stack? I mean... It's pretty fantastic any way you look at it, I can never make myself think of multiple concepts at once for too long, I tend to go back to the same one at the end of the day 💔💔
Yes the Fe struggle is real!
My videos are longer when I need them to be in order to explain things. Some shorter ones will still be integrated :)
And yes Ne is so cool! Way cooler than my crazy Ni lol
@@InternetLiJo I like the long format lol
Valerie Tuckler
I wish I had Ni for some time. Ne is being numb and happy inside the chaotic swirl of everything around you 😂
@@hannahmathilda7101 But it is still cooler, because your brain can manage that internal chaos, whereas I'll get too exhausted very quickly and will want to go back to the "known territory" to recharge my batteries and I'll never want to know what else is out there anymore once I get the one concept that works for me haha (btw, I'm assuming I have Ni but I don't really know though it could be likely 😒)
Valerie Tuckler
But I never get anything done :(
Let’s both agree that although there are wonderful features in Ni and Ne, there are also terrible struggles and consequences when one relies solely in it.
I also believe we should work on our weaker parts to become better, so question why do you think INTJ's want constant growth, change and optimization? Is it because of the top functions Ni Te.
Because the ability to leverage strong skills in the most important areas gives us the advantage to complete anything we set our mind to.
@@InternetLiJo we can be anything but we didnt want any... O god, what a fair of destiny we have..
Question: as INTJs, why do we kind of like using our Se function (challenging ourselves by listening and being present without mentally wandering), but we tend NOT to like using our Fi function so much (when Fi is 3rd in our stack and Se is 4th)?
Ohhh now i understand SE better lol kinda wish i didn't though it sounds scary.
Lmao 😂 it’s SO REAL
All of the functions are great but I'm fine with the ones I have.
Same! We can only be who we are.
Should have a link for the referenced video somewhere.
Turns out my dominant functions is Ne, my inferior function is Si
I think the main difference between N and S could be this...
When you say
"x+y=z in this instance, and that's this instance but if you look at it another way it could equal r or q so what way are you looking at it?"
I (se dom) would respond
"x+y=z, and I'm looking at it that way because I'm trying to figure out w. If I need to use a different equation to get w I will but that's what I've got right now"
Bravooooooo👈💯😁
Great content as always LiJo. What got you interested with MBTI?
-INTP
Thanks! I agree. It' just takes more time, so I'm trying to acquire some of that.
0:17 the Hashtag lol
Hehehe 😉
What’s the difference between Te and Ni
And what’s the difference between Ti and Te
Almost similar :$
Si, is my weakest function I swear to God, I am such a mess cant keep my shit toguether, adulting becomes very hard when you are like this. I need to improve it.
Thank God my Savior is Ne and I am able to be spontanious.
what about proceiving functions
