The inconsistency of the time managing mechanics isn't a bad thing. When you said it was a pacing issue that just blew my mind. Part of pacing is switching between calm and intense moments so you don't get bored after playing calm moments for a long time, and don't get tired after playing intense moments for a long time. Pikmin 2 does this perfectly with the intensity of the surface and inherent calmness of the caves. Even the music in both areas reflects this well.
Pikmin 2 is one of the rare games where I could just read flavor text about enemies and treasures for an hour and still be entertained. The world has a sense of charm that I don't think Nintendo has ever managed to reproduce.
Pikmin 2 is my favorite, though some of the sub levels are hella whack. Between the levels with like 5 dirigibugs, dropping bombs and volatile dweevils, mazes with endless death abysses riddled with things that could buck your pikmin off the map, and I think like 6 enemies that could literally kill all your pikmin in an instant. I'm glad some things didn't carry over to pikmin 3
Just for clarification on the music Dazz was talking about, I made a list. 3:52 Citadel of Spiders (I recognized it through the trumpet) 4:08 Burnt Burrow (forgot about this one) 4:19 Hot House (never heard of it) 4:25 Subterranean Complex (I recognized through the echos and mechanical theme)
Heya dazz, just wanted to say. you're the only person on this site to provide the kind of Pikmin content that i've always wanted. Have a good one, and enjoy summer!
Pikmin 2 is my favourite pikmin game and is totally in my top five games. The music is beautiful, it truly gets you involved in the action, the colors are vibrant and shiny, the gameplay it's just flawless, the caves are fillers, but they work pretty well, and it's addicting to explore floor after floor searching for treasures. And it's awesome to use the purple pikmins. I don't want to review the game, not here, but if you haven't played pikmin 2 yet, you really should, it's an amazing experience.
Pikmin 2 is the best Pikmin game for sure. I think you were a bit too harsh on the music, because music doesn't have to be memorable to be good. Especially for the caves, the purpose of the music was to blend into the background. You barely notice it when you play because it blends into the whole level's atmosphere so well, and the slight instrument changes help this effect even more. And when it comes to the music for the overworld levels and the bosses, the music is gosh darn perfect! I respect your opinion, but I personally would give the music an 8 or 9 out of 10.
Also, I agree with you that electricity may have been slightly too harsh, but you have to admit it's better than in Pikmin 3, where it literally can't kill your Pikmin but only stuns them, thus making Yellow Pikmin necessary only for puzzle solving.
@@lamegamertime oh no I have an opinion with reasoning but I didnt want to waste explaining why AHHH ATTACK ME. Just because I didnt give reasoning doesnt mean I cant reply stupi. Its an opinion and I could share it the way I want to moron and it seems like you dont respect my opinion which makes you sick. I think the music should be higher, because very few games have a 100% recognisable soundtrack, there's always those one or two songs that make you go, "where was this played again?". Yes, a lot of the soundtrack is forgettable, but the stuff that is memorable is some of the best game music I can think of. So maybe, 8/10 instead of 6 for me. And with the day night cycle, I think it makes sense that you're not having to worry about the time of day, the monsters underground aren't going to care about where the sun is. Maybe changing the time you emerge and jumping forward a day could have improved it. The whole electricity instakill thing also makes sense, the other hazards take time to damage your body to such an extent that you die, but electricity can just kill outright, so I'd give it a 8/10 rather than a 4.
some categories should have more weight than others and instead of thinking of visuals in a graphical stamdpoint think of it more artistically--graphics don't make a game but the art and style that it goes for are what make it stand out. Art isnt about being the most realistic, it's about conveying a feeling. pikmin 3 may look really good due to the specs of the system but it doesn't compare to the dark mysterious artistic style of pikmin 2 imo.
The moment the video started, I thought my alarm had gone on, lol. Anyway, Pikmin 2 is my most fave Pikmin game. I want Pikmin 4 to bring back the Piklopedia in it's full glory plus add more to it, same thing with the caves system and purple Pikmin returning( not nerfed mind you nor being restricted to multiplayer only). Pikmin 2 has the best of everything in the series: music, gameplay, environments and even story. I would spend hours just listening to the Piklopedia music while reading the logs.
Before watching I'm already saying yes, because I'm biased and it's my favorite game. But let's see. Edit: I don't disagree with basically anything, except on just my own opinion that I sometimes like unexpected, unbalanced and surprising situations. And I also like the more subtle approach of some of the cave music. Other than that I agree with everything.
My biggest problem with Pikmin 2 is the lack of time limit pressure compared to Pikmin 3, and especially the first Pikmin. Now this is *incredibly* subjective, as people may love the fact that Pikmin 2 basically ditched the time limit altogether; as time limits can stress players out. I personally miss it because it added that constant pressure to already demanding games. Not to say Pikmin 2 had no pressure, I just think Pikmin 3 had it the best where it didn't limit how long you played the actual game, but just made sure you were efficient in a day to make more progress, and move on to the next day. Pikmin has a lot of interesting creatures that really make you feel small and helpless, that you could (eventually) overcome. The time limit seems like another enemy of sorts; what makes it a particularly dastardly foe is the fact that unlike the regular creatures, you can't control nor kill it the time limit. It just will always add pressure to really do your best. And as Dazz said, it makes the pacing skewed. Once again, it's opinionated, and some players may hate time limits. So I can totally understand if players want to be more relaxed. It's not like this is a HUGE thing against Pikmin 2; just a flaw I don't care for. But nevertheless, Pikmin 2, and all of the other Pikmin games for that matter, are wonderful experiences.
Travlers of the Stars i think the addition of extra enemies after a certain amount of days was to add that time limit pressure (so yeah they are punishing you for taking long, just like the first game did) but it really isnt effective at all. i think the devs realized that coming off of pikmin 1, people are going to expect it to be the same game and tried to add some kind of time pressure but failed in creating the same feeling. Also pacing in a pikmin game doesn't make since to me since there is no story to advance as you're given the one goal from the beginning and how you achieve it is up to you. I think one complaint could be that the day cycle can be interrupted completely by really long caves but you could always just do them near sundown. with the added caves the whole day limit could have been removed but it remains to keep the constant sense of productivity within each day and keep the sense of accomplishment. this game tried something new with its approach and instead of just making a bigger pikmin 1 (because we all know pikmin 1 is way too short) they shifted the focus on a more open and exploration based game. the caves added soo much to this game to make it give it so much more of a rounded experience and it just wouldn't have worked with any overarching time limit. also pikmin 3's time limit disappears after a couple days when you collect more fruit than you'll ever need. sorry for the long ramble comment, it's late and i love talking pikmin
I've always been pro Pikmin 2 when it comes to this. Both sides have good points but I've always felt that Pikmin 2 is the best balanced of the trilogy. Pikmin 2 always gives you the resources to approach things in a different manner. The combo of above ground sections and caves rarely left me with a "Waste Day" (Which is something that Pikmin 1 & 3 falll into sometimes imo) All 3 are excellent games but I think Pikmin 2 has the most to come back to.
Some Guy i agree. the best thing that pikmin 2 offers is its variety in gameplay. It's like a zelda with a day system. Zelda is great for the the combination of overworld exploration and awesome dungeon crawling--pikmin 2 is the same way.
Personally, the only time I found the time limits to hinder me was my first playthrough when I was in my early teens at the latest where I failed to meet both their 30 limits. Taking a break after my first playthroughs of each game, when I came back, I easily beat the first game in 20 days and can now do it in 14 or less, though my copy of Pikmin 2 stopped working so my first playthrough is my only playthrough sadly, or at least my only full playthrough. Now, what's with the long anecdote here? Basically, I don't feel much of any pressure at all from the time limit and I doubt most adults would. Alongside that, for the younger audience that wouldn't be able to finish the first game, they will at least be able to play through the second game and if they aren't able to meet the 30-day goal, then they have something they can strive for when they replay the game. I also loved that the game didn't just end once you meet your goal. I would have loved to have the extra stuff that you have to do in the second game after you pay off the debt in the first game.
If you really want a challenge, set a day limit for yourself. I could get every treasure in 10 days when I really pressed myself (and used the reset button in caves >~>;).
I love Pikmin 3 but really wish it continued the trend of innovation and extras that Pikmin 2 started. The cutscenes, world building, and things like Piklopedia really made it so much more special.
I think we've all pretty much been here since the start, well be here till the end. Good luck to Dazz and may his channel and skill prosper till the end of time.
Great review! I really like thus concept for a review, it gives you the opportunity to talk about things in way greater detail than just "This is good, this is bad, X/10." I also like how you weren't blinded by your love for this game and stayed critical towards it. Keep it up!
The gatling groink shoots 3 projectiles. 2 are non-lethal, only knocking pikmin over. 1 is lethal. If I remember correctly, the middle spawning one is the lethal one.
I think it's okay to have some forgettable music. Music isn't always meant to get stuck in your head and be memorable. Sometimes music is just there to give you a certain feeling. There would be some that argue if the music takes you out of the game then it's actually bad music, even if it takes you out of the game because it's so good.
...just sayin', the way Gatling groinks work is if the pikmin are in the center of the blast they're dead, but if they just get hit by the shockwave around it, they're fine.
He brings back up the random generation of caves in the replayability section while showing one of the cave sublevels that is almost exactly the same every time.
I'd have to heavily disagree with Dazz on Music, Mechanics, and Controls, but aside from those three categories, I think this review is fair and pretty accurate. I did a review of Pikmin 2 myself, and gave it a 94.5/100 (Gamecube version) myself. Though I did have a few additional categories for my own review as well, and looking at it again I'm noticing very similar scores for some of your categories.
Out of all 3, Pikmin 2 was the longest from what I experienced but it offered many weird situations that were actually fun to play out. I think it would be cool if they returned the caves in a future game, and even make a mode where you go down a cave as far as you can before you either lose all of your Pikmin or your life. Not sure what the reward would be. Bragging rights?
i completely disagree with the Time mechanic making the game worse, as you said, i understand how a dissonance between the two COULD potentially be annoying, but the way the game handles it is so good that it negates any problems it could have had. While you're on the surface you have to manage your time, daylight matters, Creatures still come out at night in full force and it's dangerous and that makes sense. It also makes it so that you have to pick, choose, and manage your time so that you can accomplish a goal in that day, such as reaching a certain cave, or fully unlocking paths to the whole map, or maybe beating an overworld boss or getting an overworld treasure. But then you go underground, time doesn't matter here, the creatures aren't nocturnal, day and night don't exist down here for all intents and purposes. So you're free to plan and go about at your own pace. It not only makes sense in the lore but completely creates a parallel to what the overworld is like. Honestly the two mechanics don't clash, they mesh. Maybe it's just personal preference, but i feel as though your assessment is wrong, and what you perceive as a weakness is actually a strength.
I agree that Pikmin 2 isn't perfect, but it is by far the best game in the series. The difficulty can be frustrating but it's very rewarding. And the music is super good. Much better than just a 6/10. Yeah it isn't memorable in many cases, but it at least does fit the atmosphere of where you are. Many tracks are extremely fun to listen to while working.
The gattling groink actually has consistancy, it has to directly hit your pikmin or a creature to kill/damage it. At least from my game that was the case.
3:52 That might be a sound test, like Mono/Stereo/Surround. Why do I think this? Because it sounds very similar to the sound test found in the sound settings for Super Mario Sunshine. Edit: No its not, nevermind.
also i know i'm late so these won't get read but i feel like things getting harder as days go on is more of a one hundred percent completion thing. They wanted to make it so that going to each area to get more treasure isn't the same romp every single time, some things change. Not to mention it's incredibly realistic, i know not many people like to use realism in their reviews but if you think of this world as a real living breathing ecosystem it makes sense for creatures to move, for more to appear and for some to disappear, for things to change. It FITS and i like it. I don't think it was meant to harass struggling players, as honestly most struggling players are still going to get by fairly decently and probably get what they need to complete the game normally by these days. I feel it was done to appeal to those that play longer on purpose, that want more from the game, that like a sense of realism in its environments.
Ive always had ALOT of grievances with this game with its mechanics and such and i always seem to be the only one with this opinion, so its a breath of fresh air that you have the same opinion
I like to think the music fits the perspective of the protagonist. Not just for the switch of the protagonists but also just in general. The caves music are so lacking due to olimar not knowing much about the underground of this planet. The submerged castle is creepy because of the atmosphere, only having blue pikmin with lots of other hazards sand in other sub levels, the water wraith. When you switch to Louie or the president, the music does not switch the notes are just off. Due to not knowing anything as much as olimar. That creepy tone that plays when you’re near an enemy in the caves due to not knowing what to expect. The boss battle music even fits, it’s no longer impending doom like the first game it’s a full on battle. And of course from the first game, the drums in a battle or instrument change at the end of the day. Something pikmin 3 doesn’t really do, matching the perspectives.
Personally I'd like to play a game that was like the caves from this game, but with no overworld. A squad tactical real-time roguelike where you pick out 100 troops to bring into the procedurally generated dungeons and need to take care to keep them from dying off. It'd need better balance between unit and hazard types, of course.
Daniel Alexandru Patac I'll be glad to inform you on some good news then, because Dazz said he'll be streaming Hey! Pikmin when it releases. So I imagine he'll review it.
I feel like the caves took a step backwards from the original Pikmin by making it more focused on exploring caves- making it more of a roguelike dungeon crawler than a strategy game. The way the dungeons are generated doesn't feel like it encourages creative play in the caves either; It would be interesting if caves allowed for natural ways to take long ways around dangerous enemies to attack from behind, but the game never does this. Caves also rely increasingly on placing larger amounts of more difficult enemies in caves, so as opposed to thinking of new strategic ways to overcome groups of enemies, players are better off running through a floor and punching all the enemies to death, or just relying on the purple pikmin. The base presentation and improvements Pikmin 2 features over the first game- such as better pathfinding and the Piklopedia- do make it better than the first game, but the way caves take up most playtime make Pikmin 2 feel more tiring in some ways than its predecessor.
It is my favorite pikmin game while also the best in my opinion, you have unlimited time to play the game, its huge (how dare anyone says 'that's what she said'), you get punished for playing to long, and the final boss gives you the feeling that it is a final boss
I like the original because of the sense that time is always running out. Pikmin 3 tried to do this, but the only way to really run out of time is to do it on purpose. Pikmin 2 however was going for a different feel, and i get that, but i still like the first one the best.
Pikmin 2 is good, but, I feel as though its the most flawed, but the best in the series. My opinion Pikmin 2 > Pikmin 1 > Pikmin 3 I feel like Pikmin 3 is linier in design, I just don't explore the levels as much, and most of the world feels limited, and I really hate how the pikmin follow in a line, instead of a circle like the previous two games. The gameplay is really good, but the removal of the c-stick feels really strange, as the "charge" does exactly the same purpose as the c-stick did, well, other than locking onto an enemy. I feel like it's a good game, but not a strong game in the Pikmin series of games, if that makes sense.
My answer is yes. It's just so interesting and enjoyable even though the only have very littles types than the other games (Not The Original Pikmin Though). I really also enjoy the gameplay and content involved in this game with their unbelievable bosses and optional ones. So that's concludes my answer is yes. :)
This game is very divided between people, some like it the least, some like it the most Also the gatling groink only kills if it's a direct hit on pikmin
Pikmin surviving the Gatling groink is actually quite simple. The hitbox that kills is only on the dead center of the blasts, where as anywhere else, it just knocks them down. Speaking of the groink. I have no issue with the Groink being the toughest enemy in the wistful wild because of when the player has access to that area. Plus, depending on how the player moves, they may be able to ambush that crazy fish. As for the additional utility of the 3 other types, I feel it's balanced out a bit by their limited nature. Though purples still break combat a bit too much. As for music, I feel you highlighted the worst examples. If you can remember the Submerged Castle, than I'm sure your remember the Bulblax Kingdom. And the themes associated with the grassy area like snagret hole, the wooden houses like Glutten's Kitchen, or the odd dripping ambience of tile places like shower room
Slow down dude! A lot of the times you kept rambling on at the speed of sound and the random audio blips didn't help that. Good review though, lots of depth to it
I mean I really like Pikmin 2, but I really like all of them. My biggest problem with the game is that it's a dungeon crawler with 80% of the game being in caves, you almost never get to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the overworld. Also there isn't much pressure to get treasure, in fact, there isn't any pressure since you have unlimited days (which I don't mind that much but there's no incentive to keep playing after you beat the game), Other than those things, I think the game improved and was ambitious with the content. My only problems with Pikmin 3 is that it doesn't have the challenging enemies of Pikmin 2 (like gattling groin) and it makes the game easier. And there aren't enough open areas in Pikmin 3, it feels like small spaces connected by roads.
I feel like you didn't mention one of the biggest problems in the game. TRAPS. Bomb rocks falling from the sky being the big offender. This is extremely player unfriendly, as on a first playthrough this is not only frustrating, but can easily turn a player off as they feel like the game isn't giving them any hope of countering what the game is doing to them. And as you mentioned, the caves are completely random, and that means so are the traps. So not even multiple playthroughs are useless.
dusknoir64 Riki disagrees with this, most traps, especially bomb rock traps, are very generous in giving players plenty of time to react and escape from the danger. Boulder traps are difficult to avoid but still very avoidsble from. Riki think there are 2 specific examples of traps being bullshit, and those are Withering Blowhog traps in the Submerged Castle, and the Spotty Bulbear trap in the Hole of Heroes. Both of these are extremely dangerous enemies which literally fall out of the sky and can instantly deflower or kill a Pikmin
That would be true. If not for the fact that these traps can, and do get placed near enemies. And while this can help in killing the enemies sometimes. There's also the problem of the bumbling snitchbug, which can take away that control very easily. And this of course is without even mentioning enemies knocking Pikmin around, or even when the bomb rock gets up and starts chasing you down because it's a bomb dweevil. Even the strategy of running ahead with just a captain won't work for all of them, as some traps are actually programmed to only trigger when Pikmin are with you. And I didn't even mention the falling rocks before. Those might even be more bull. They are often placed in places where movement is limited, such as the areas made of nothing but long pathways. And I still say the whole idea of the traps isn't player friendly because like Dazz said in the review, there's no consistency to what will and what will not trigger these traps. Some work only when there's Pikmin, some work without, sometimes a large enemy will have a trap near them, sometimes they won't. There's no tell beforehand, and it would even moving around in dungeons frustrating even if you somehow knew the game inside and out well enough to know just how these traps are spawned and how they're placed every time, due to constantly having to stop, back up, and then go after the bomb, or falling rocks, or whatever else, is done.
dusknoir64 Damn, you wrote an essay. While Riki definetly see your point, most of the time (played this game as an 11 year old) Riki never have a problem with most traps, even near snitchbugs of either type. However Riki forget to mention 1 more bullshit type of trap, traps that only activate when pikmin are carrying something back to base or digging something up, worst in Bulblax Kingdom and Cavern of Chaos. These traps, especially when they are bomb rock/dweevil traps, make you need to baby pikmin back to base, and restrict multitasking. But Riki never once have issues with traps around enemies, but Riki can see how people have issues with traps around enemies, especially difficult enemies to deal with like Bulbears and Blowhogs (Withering and Puffy specifically).
Sorry about how long that was. I tend to go on a while when the subject is video game design. But you actually reminded me about those ones that only work with Pikmin carrying things back. I actually completely forgot those. Those are probably the ones that go against any sort of logic the most. Because I can't think of any sensible reason why the developers put that in a game where they want you to multitask. You aren't supposed to babysit your Pikmin 24/7 and suddenly they want you to keep a close eye on them just in case a rock who gained a perverse sense of sentience decides to fuck you? That just seems like a dick move more than anything. However the enemy I recall falling bomb rocks being the biggest problem around was the Gatling Groinks, because if I am remembering this correctly, their attacks can actually trigger bomb rocks. Not to mention with them regenerating after death and the previously mentioned traps, you can just get bombed while you expect your Pikmin to take care of that death goldfish.
Honestly, traps are some of what makes Pikmin 2's caves feel so unique and threatening compared the above ground areas, and as an avid Pikmin fan (as if my name wasn't a dead giveaway already), I personally found those tense moments of uncertainty to be one the list of the games' biggest strengths. The randomness of them and the fact that you can't simply plan for them adds excitement and chaos to the game, which is exactly what a Pikmin game should have. Looks cute and peaceful at a glance, but then all hell breaks loose. I love it. The contradictory nature of that is what makes Pikmin 2 so amazing in my opinion. Pikmin 3 by comparison has little to none of that. Whether you're a veteran or a novice at Pikmin, the hazards and traps will always shake you to your core and reward you for playing cautiously, but punish you for being careless.
I can’t believe the Purple Pikmin are so over powered. I never used them (besides when they’re needed) Personally, I found the difficulty spikes to be well done. I played through the caves out of order (completing Awakening Wood, then Valley of repose, then Perplexing Pool) not always doing the caves in the correct order (the Citadel of Spiders was the last one I completed in that level) so that all might have effected it (that and not using Purple Pikmin) I feel that it doesn’t have that much replay-ability (it’s still my favorite game though) once you know how to deal with enemies and what they do (the Man at Legs and Water Wraith being the best examples) it’s not nearly as fun. To me, the biggest reason the game is so fun is because of the shock of it all! I’ll never forget my first experience with the Man at Legs! The one time I actually used Purple Pikmin they all got shot down... one by one... poor little guys...
I have an idea for dazz on his gaming channel. A replay of Pikmin 2 either: On the Wii or on the gamecube ( again ) with the twist of not losing a single Pikmin.
Pikmin 3 easily has worst pacing thanks to its linear story progression
Can we all take a minute to appreciate how much Dazz has grown? Well done Dazz, well done...
Pikmin 2 is the best pikmin game in my opinion
Agreed, Pikmin 2 is what I hope the next main series game is like.
but bombrocks...
lego motion I'm not a huge fan of the sub level cave thingies though, but I might have to agree non the less.

Just for clarification on the music Dazz was talking about, I made a list.
3:52 Citadel of Spiders (I recognized it through the trumpet)
4:08 Burnt Burrow (forgot about this one)
4:19 Hot House (never heard of it)
4:25 Subterranean Complex (I recognized through the echos and mechanical theme)
I 5hought the first one was the shower room

Pikmin 2 isnt the best pikmin game for sure
I mean honestly, no matter how good the music was you couldn't pick out what area theme it went with, because it was interchangeable.

Perhaps in your next review, story should be a category to score on. Keep up the good work!
Facts, facts, facts, and finally facts.

I really loved the difficulty spikes in the world as it kept me playing well after I beat the game.
Is pikmin 2 the best pikmin game?
Me before even clicking on the video: yes, yes it is.
That's a really high quality thumbnail, Dazz
I'm a huge pikmin 2 fan and this made me start my 9th playthrough of the game
My fave will always be the first Pikmin, just for all the memories, but Pikmin 2 is so solid. Solid review! Keep up the good work =O

My mind, which has been playing pikmin ever since I was 5: CITADEL OF SPIDERS
As a pikmin fan and music fan i give the music a 10. Its music is amazing. It can be amazing but not remembered.
nat pain especially the forest of hope music. It's amazing
The game kinda does have some memorable music outside the caves, though. It's just the caves mix and match the stuff.
Actually, Bulbmin aren't immune to explosions!
Yes I know this video is years old
I LOVE this channel my favourite
I think it's okay to have some forgettable music. Music isn't always meant to get stuck in your head and be memorable. Sometimes music is just there to give you a certain feeling. There would be some that argue if the music takes you out of the game then it's actually bad music, even if it takes you out of the game because it's so good.
I remember the pre-pikimin 3 hype, aw youth.
I love the entire Pikmin series, but Pikmin 2 is definitely my favorite Pikmin game, even though I've only played Pikmin 3.
...just sayin', the way Gatling groinks work is if the pikmin are in the center of the blast they're dead, but if they just get hit by the shockwave around it, they're fine.
4:09 - WOLLYWOGS.
He brings back up the random generation of caves in the replayability section while showing one of the cave sublevels that is almost exactly the same every time.
I think story should be a category because the story is always the first thing i look for when i'm thinking about buying a game
Dazz review... Reviewing a game?! My god!
Also I can't be the only one who's gotten white Pikmin in the submerged castle right?
Mew2King's Marth that was either a glitch or a hack
4:31 For some reason I distinctly remember this music track.
19:49 Umm, there are 2 Unspeakable Wonders... (they're both on the bottom row (above the Japanese/PAL exclusives))
But the question is...
Will Character D be in Pikmin 4? (This is a joke. A joke for this channel.)
GoldenHawk X No. they are building up hype for pikmin 5.
W8 the blue pikmin are eaten first?? do monsters target them mostly?
1:23 “no one would shooed to look at a ugly mess of a game for 20 hours”
DWARF FORTRESS
Pikmin 2 is my favorite pikmin game
Because it has alot of bosses, the white pikmin is my favorite pikmin, no day limit, no need for food
4:15 I swear that's from a cave in 2nd area, Awakening Wood I believe is the name of the area?
Pikifan4 IndigoCobra57 Hole of Beasts level 3 and Citadel of Spiders level 2
Without this game in my childhood I would not be a gamer
The gattling groink actually has consistancy, it has to directly hit your pikmin or a creature to kill/damage it. At least from my game that was the case.
came here and watch this after pbandjeffs pikmin 2 part 1. Glad to see a lot of pikmin 2 today, you know comparative to how much there usually is.
They're all perfect :)
Holy shit We meet again
Where did we meet before?
Jacend Haedox's Splatoon video

5:53 is when I'm like I gotta get the hell outta here.
0:56 and this is the moment i decided to check if you do reviews more often, daz a nice scoring system
2:26
How did I instantly recognize that render... I even know what the render's page is.
pikmin 2 is the perfect game for me, its everything i want and i was a woos at it when i first played
White Pikmin I think I like pikmin 3 more.
Ive always had ALOT of grievances with this game with its mechanics and such and i always seem to be the only one with this opinion, so its a breath of fresh air that you have the same opinion
14:46 when that thing appeared I littleraly crapped my pants (figuratively)
There's always that one pikmin that sticks to you after you disband.
i honestly believe the pikmin types work well, even if yellows are more important, and purples are okay
Hey can you play hey!pikmin for 3ds when it comes out? I really want to know your opininon aout this spin off.
Daniel Alexandru Patac I'll be glad to inform you on some good news then, because Dazz said he'll be streaming Hey! Pikmin when it releases. So I imagine
he'll review it.
Your great Dazz
The Titan dwevil!
My favorite pikmin game is pikmin 1
i really thought you wouldn't give the rating a 6/10 sure, it isn't memorable but you praised it so much for its immersion, it caught me off guard.
Whoa it's been FIVE years?!? I remember watching your E3 2012 Pikmin 3 analysis video
My opinion
Pikmin 2 > Pikmin 1 > Pikmin 3
I feel like Pikmin 3 is linier in design, I just don't explore the levels as much, and most of the world feels limited, and I really hate how the pikmin follow in a line, instead of a circle like the previous two games. The gameplay is really good, but the removal of the c-stick feels really strange, as the "charge" does exactly the same purpose as the c-stick did, well, other than locking onto an enemy. I feel like it's a good game, but not a strong game in the Pikmin series of games, if that makes sense.
I don’t like how the story is less serious and less mysterious.
The Raging long legs isn't actually random. It moves faster the more damage you deal in each phase
4:02
I think im wrong but it sounds like Gluttons Kitchen or the bug level thing
My answer is yes. It's just so interesting and enjoyable even though the only have very littles types than the other games (Not The Original Pikmin Though). I really also enjoy the gameplay and content involved in this game with their unbelievable bosses and optional ones. So that's concludes my answer is yes. :)
MMMMG SOMETHING TELLS ME I WILL ENJOY THIS
This game is very divided between people, some like it the least, some like it the most
Also the gatling groink only kills if it's a direct hit on pikmin
the gatling goink only kills if it gets a direct hit on a pikmin, but only knocks them back if affected by blast damge. I think
Pikmin 3 is a better game but pikmin 2 is a better experience.
There is some great cave music though in my opinion. Bulblax kingdom, submerged castle, and shower room being some.
Great thumbnail!
Well this means I've been watching for 5 years
hey i recently picked up pikmin 2 on the nintendo e shop but have been trying to get it for a long time i even found your channel because of pikmin
wrecker lawson Nice, have fun with it
I feel like you didn't mention one of the biggest problems in the game.
I remember the Music a lot actually. It's great.
I can’t believe the Purple Pikmin are so over powered. I never used them (besides when they’re needed)
Personally, I found the difficulty spikes to be well done. I played through the caves out of order (completing Awakening Wood, then Valley of repose, then Perplexing Pool) not always doing the caves in the correct order (the Citadel of Spiders was the last one I completed in that level) so that all might have effected it (that and not using Purple Pikmin)
I feel that it doesn’t have that much replay-ability (it’s still my favorite game though) once you know how to deal with enemies and what they do (the Man at Legs and Water Wraith being the best examples) it’s not nearly as fun. To me, the biggest reason the game is so fun is because of the shock of it all! I’ll never forget my first experience with the Man at Legs! The one time I actually used Purple Pikmin they all got shot down... one by one... poor little guys...
I have been waiting for this since the pikmin 3 one...
I believe the music for the caves is also randomly generated, which is interesting to say the least.
Does anyone watch the video because its seems most people just are here to be first at least I'm still watching
Does it count as telling if I don't say what I'm telling?
god pikmin 2 is so damn full of content. obviously i agree.
Short answer yes!
I have an idea for dazz on his gaming channel. A replay of Pikmin 2 either:
On the Wii or on the gamecube ( again ) with the twist of not losing a single Pikmin.
