    You know what I would like? Verticality! Either by actually climbing or jumping, I'm tired of seeing the whole map on the same level, what if you could actually climb a tree by throwing the captains to different branches, it would give more purpose to the Yellow and Winged Pikmin. Also, I've had this idea since your first video but it would be awesome if you could explore at night to get more work done but at the trade of more creatures.

      Also to add to ideas, I've wanted the caves to be more visualized, like not just entering a cave, but a plastic play castle, or relating to the beach idea, going inside a sand castle with lots of sand and water related enemies.

      +Golden-Leaf What I was thinking about the working at night, The pikmin are scared and don't want to go to the surface at night and the captains(whoever they are) decide to go down anyway, they go down and find an onion, it sprouts a Single pikmin, with no leaf and it's cyan, as it grows it turns into a mushlet and then a mushroom.

      +DJDonkeys maybe at night you find shroommin (pikmin 1) and they are the only pikmin you can have out at night.

    A desert for sure. We haven't seen any real desert in the series yet (the one in tropical wilds is more like a beach). And an icy/snowy area with ACTUAL ice hazards would be cool. For whatever reason there aren't any ice hazards, and even the water in snowy areas is never frozen...
    I also think they should have another cave area... but this time actually feeling like a cave. The forest naval was basically just another layout of the regular area but darker and with more underground-themed enemies. The caves in Pikmin 2 don't count because they're procedurally generated and very unnatural feeling, and the ones in Pikmin 3 are a good start but only scratching the surface of what could be done.
    I want a cave biome area that is dark. Like really dark. Pitch black and if you stay in dark places too long you get ambushed by deadly hit-and-run enemies. The only way to avoid them is natural glowing mushrooms and Black Pikmin (black colored Pikmin with bioluminescent mushrooms instead of flowers, like a good guy version of the Puffmin). You would need to use the Black Pikmin to keep your Pikmin safe when they're transporting things back to the ships, otherwise they would get snatched.
    (They could also do this sort of thing for a nighttime level as well).

    Idea! A proper Jungle. One with large tree stumps and overgrown vines and a boss that is a big BIG plant like planterra in terraria. In the jungle you could find all sorts of enemies but what I do hope for Pikmin 4 is that they introduce large animals. Think about it. you turn a corner and BOOM a massive (to olimar) a tiger or some sort of newly evolved mammal that is huge that you could ether fight or use as a transportation system.

      Also, speaking of big enemies, the Quaggled Mireclops was great, but wouldn't it be cool if they made a huge boss that was like it's own area? You would walk around and explore. Maybe even it would take multiple days to find the fight place. Its head or something.

      +The Ice Mummy Games running on the beast(s) could b good or bad since they could transport u 2 places otherwise unreachable. but the beast would shake and toss around. plus fighting it head on is almost suicide. you'd have to use the whole of the jungle area to trap it, explode it, electrify it, drown it, burn it... similar to the emperor bulblax in the original game. u have 2 use the surrounding to get a chance 2 hit the animal

    I would like a ride pool level. The water rises or falls throughout the day and you can only get certain parts at certain times. You could even sync it with the day count: even days go from high to low, odd days go from low to high.

    An Entire Room with the last human being alive in it. The Kid could ask you a favor and repair his plug and afterwards, HE thanks you and then he put down some blocks for a way into the ARENA, his bed. This is where you fight against him when he shrinks down to fight you.

    That opening joke killed me! I would love to see a mountain themes area! It would go like this:
    Instead of being built horizontally, it would be built vertically, much like a cave in Pikmin 2, except that instead of going deeper and deeper, you go higher and higher until you fight some Bad ass flying enemy!

    You know what I wanted for Pikmin three but didn't even get a glimpse of? Puffstool. I want Puffstool to return, but not as just an annoying enemy, more of a "plot point." You see, the Puffstool corrupt the minds of Pikmin and make them do their bidding as long as they are under the spore's influence, so why not have an outbreak of Puffstools? Pikmin are almost at the top of the food chain at this point and the Puffstool have all realized it.
    Anyways, my point is, I want a zombie apocalypse-esque part of the game where the Puffstool brainwash hundreds of Pikmin at once. After you finally deal with the problem, the story continues.

      As soon as I clicked off the video I had another bright (though probably not original) idea. The parasitic Pikmin who stole the bodies of bulborbs should appear. Think, when these Pikmin knock out an enemy, they could take over the body and use it to help fight. The bigger the enemy, the more parasite Pikmin it would require to take control of it, a small bulborb would need one or two, and mamuta sized enemies would need seven or eight. Although once the parasites take control of an enemies body, you can never get those Pikmin back, and they stay there until the day ends and they are left behind or they are defeated by another enemy. Walls of text are awesome.

    You know what would be a great idea for a Pikmin level that hasn't been explored yet? In every Pikmin game to ever come out what is the one thing that has remained consistent? We leave the planet at night.
    The story explanation for this is wildlife encounters double in capacity and become much more aggressive at night then they do during the day so I feel like a great idea for a level is say one of the Captains gets left behind and you're left with no other option but to brave the surface at night
    I think it would be interesting.

    I hope in the next game we can have much more interactions/personality/realism with the creatures below example: fights between 2 creatures, predators hunting for prey and the wildlife actually moving around areas.

    I would like a large open desert with quicksand and Armored cannon beetle larva To protect the fruits and this is were you would find the Blue Pikmin. Because of irony

      Midkup I suppose... but what use would they be? usually when a new pikmin is found, there are lots of hazards and challenges related to that pikmin. But in a desert, what could the blues do?

    How bout a mountain? Or instead of just a desert, visit post-human Egypt with pyramids? I like the construction site idea. A strip mine? With tunnels holding great monsters to battle and great rewards? An old CASTLE? I'd love that, with the MC's getting interested in the giant armor, and speaking of big humanoid figures, how bout a statue? Where the level is almost all vertical. Or maybe even the MOON. I'm full with ideas, but I want one thing Above all else, area connectivity or scouting, you land in a level you've already found and spread out and find a new area where you can land. That way you get the feeling of exploring a whole new world....with fantastic new points of view. Like say on a mountain area you can see the lake you just came from, or an oasis visible from the pyramids you go out and look for. Plus we could have the captains start out in different locations, so we can see all over the world instead of just one wide area. Like say Alph in America, Brittany in-continued

      Brittany in Britain/Scandinavia Charlie in Russia, the President in North Africa, south Europe, Louie in South America, New characters for Australia, Asia, etc. Of course this would have to be with all the continental shifts, but these countries should be fairly the same as houses, factories, etc. are still fine.

      +Jay Smith I think that any structures they implement should be in ruins, so that it still fits in with the game. Like a statue would be subtle enough so that you would only be able to make it out a little bit.

    -Inside of an abandoned house
    -Beach
    -Construction site
    -Snowy mountain
    -Giant tree
    -Archaeological dig site
    -Desert
    -Swamp

    Area ideas: (These areas are based on the 5 main elements - Fire - Air - Water - Wood - Metal)
    Area 1: Forgotten Forest (Wood)
    Area 2: Ominous Oasis (Water)
    Area 3: Eire Factory (Metal)
    Area 4: Turbulence Tower / Cloud Climb (Air)
    Area 5: Mount Magma (Fire)
    New Pikmin Type ideas:
    Cyan Pikmin: Immune to icy areas, and can be in water for some time, but not for long. (These are a good alternative if you have no blues or winged pikmin, but these pikmin can and will drown if you aren't in and out fast.)
    Orange Pikmin: Immune to quick sand, and can brake glass and crystals, but it takes a lot longer. (These are useful if you need to brake something and are out of Rock pikmin, but they do much better in the mud and sand.)
    Green Pikmin: Immune to every hazard that isn't alive, but dose next to no damage to enemies, and can only speed up an items return to base (Not add lift to the item (13 Red Pikmin can take something back in the same time as 10 Reds and 1 Green, but it will only count as 10)). (As awesome as not falling to any element might be, it comes with the cost of not being able to help in battle or taking things back to base. They are best used in taking down elemental gates or traps.)

      +The Green Dragon 53 I like the cyan idea, but the power is somewhat useless. I propose another power, The ability to create ice when placed on top of water. Say... there was a large pool of water and a wall on the opposite side with no ramp up. What do you do? Throw a bunch of these guys on top of water and create a safe pathway to walk across! Voila!

    I have an idea of new areas. So back in your Pikmin 3 Weather speculation video, you talked a bit about how different types of Pikmin would be able to traverse certain areas, like purples and rocks not being able to traverse ice. Well what if we gave the Pikmin new abilities?
    Specifically, giving them abilities related to their immunities.
    So let's say this: You have a lake frozen over. You want to traverse it, but only some can come due to the new abilities. Like the blues would be frozen due to them being water based or reds melting the ice due to them being fire based. Or maybe this: Not just blues can traverse water, but winged can to. But what about the others? The yellows might do more damage under water due to the electricity in their body, but it would harm other Pikmin as well as the captains. And maybe the rocks could traverse in water, but only for a limited time else they face erosion. The reds couldn't because it would put out the fire.
    So how do you think this would work out?

      +Trey, the Gaming Shyguy Just because they are immune to a hazard/element doesn't mean they are made out of it. Not to mention that some of these abilities, while possible, wouldn't make much sense from a game-play/development perspective. For example: Yellows electrocuting water is a good idea and I like it, but they would drown in the process and, like you said, kill off or stun other Pikmin. I think it would make for a good high risk-reward type thing, which would be cool. But Pikmin is a very user-friendly game and adding in unneeded abilities can make managing things more clustered than they already are and make the game a lot harder than it needs to be. I'm like 95% certain that any experienced Pikmin players like me could _EASILY_ manage 5+ Pikmin types and all of their abilities just fine. But, as I said, from a developer standpoint, it makes the game harder and more difficult for the casual player, who may or may not have played previous Pikmin games.

    dazz, when it comes to your idea of having a construction site for a pikmin 4 area, here's a cool idea for an ability that pink pikmin have when you're there: if a pikmin were to fall off one of the high ledges, one of the pink pikmin would get out of your squad, they'll fly down to the pikmin that fell, grab them, and then haul them back up to the captain that had the two pikmin in his/hers squad.

    Maybe a garden. With a bunch of flower pots, plant based enemies, and fruit buried underground. Maybe after a certain day a big flower opens up, with a venus fly trap inside. Obviously, we'll have a few Burrowing Snagrets lying around. Give us an indoor level too.

    I think Pikmin 4 might have an industrial theme. I would love to see run-down buildings, concrete, factories, etc. Also bring back underground caves!

    A cool thing that could be added is (Like many people have said including you) is to be able to explore in the night. Maybe its only an optional thing where you don't HAVE to go at night but you would be able to get things done twice as fast! Also the typical enemies that you face in the area could be beefed up in a sense so they are a little harder to fight (since you are technically getting a free day)

      It takes place far after the extinction of the human race. Structures like that would probably be buried beneath the Earth and the fruit probably would have rotted.

    I love the idea of isolation. The floors with the rusty metal construction site looking things in the Pikmin 2 holes always made me feel very alone. I would love that feeling in another area.

    My idea for a level or two (Or worlds)
    A large marsh area, bigger than the one for the Quaggled Mireclops. Your main transportation would be either lily pads or some solidified mud along the ground. Watery Blowhogs would be the main enemies around there; and the big boss of the area would be... One of those water walking bugs! You would have to use winged or blue Pikmin while it's on the water (Which takes up half of the arena) And use, saayy, rocks or reds to beat it down while it's on lands. Perhaps it could have a large bubble on it's back with a treasure inside, and when you beat it up enough and the boss is defeated; the bubble bursts and the boss scurries away, while you are left to take the treasure. The water bug's children could be the second common enemy, but mostly in water.
    I'll post more tomorrow, it's 4:12 AM right now...

    Areas I would like:
    Another area completely underground, like the forest navel.
    Some giant vehicle, like in the pikmin short film with that bulldozer.
    Really love that lava idea!
    A snow level that makes things feel creepy (I really fell in love with the first game when everything seemed all creepy to me when I was 10)
    Really love that inside a house, or on a street idea!
    Areas that are more spread out, like the pikmin 1 areas, and not so linear like in Pikmin 3.

    6:43 I like that idea. It would be awesome if it was like Uncharted 3, being very barren and uneventful. Maybe a few mirages here and there. The boss might be a snake hiding underground somewhere to cool off. Maybe a barren village. It's pure speculation at this point.

    I'de love to see a destroyed human environment, perhaps a farm or a hunting shack in the middle of the woods. So you can scale furniture all the way onto a desk to get to a pen or something. Or maybe a place that's mostly on a mountain and there's huge (or small for us) cliffs everywhere, making a winged Pikmin envorment. Also, I know it will never happen, but fighting a human adult would be fun for a boss.

    One idea I will have not seen (Though it is a longshot of one) would be weather effects for certain areas. Not just rain, but maybe snow effects, possible mudslides from heavy rains, heck, it would help spice the idea up a bit more.

    I think the cave system of Pikmin 2 should be brought back. It was interesting and difficult to have to proceed through many different levels without being able to refill your pikmin, and made it to where you didn't have to travel for several minutes to reach unexplored territory.

    I din't have any ideas for new Pikmin areas, but I do have an idea for a new type of pikmin: Thorn Pikmin or Green Pikmin. This type of pikmin would be green, have a couple of thorns on its stem, and be immune to a new type of obstacle: thorns (and/or spikes). Other pikmin would get stuck on thorns and spikes and, if not whistled in time, would die. Thorn pikmin would be able to break bramble gates, attack spiked enemies, and collect berries from thorny bushes. They would deal more damage than other pikmin types and would, on being eaten, deal a slight bit of damage. They would also probably have their own onion, though maybe not since they would be fairly powerful. Also, I think the purple and white pikmin should return to story mode.

    Pikmin ladders would be good for levels that ascend and descend. Talking about a post-human environment, maybe when electricity is turned back on you get sucked into virtual reality on a computer. That would spawn a heap of new modes and gameplay options. The storyline could be for the purpose of colonization although this makes me think that the pikmin are slaves. But they enjoy working for people so its okay. So base building and defense modes? A horde system with waves? Tunneling pikmin? On the world map maybe with each area you have a base and they get attacked randomly. The aim of the campaign is to build a biosphere in the shape of a dome impervious to anything of the outside. The attacks come from the mushroom pikmin from the first game and maybe some bugs get caught under the mushrooms influence. There were also the bug pikmin in the 2nd game that could also be utilized in the game. Just pile up all the ideas and mix them together in a large variety of environments with different challenges and game modes. Maybe after the virtual reality is overcome you can it for training simulations. You would also have to provide food for the colonists in the dome until it becomes sustainable with maybe outside farming domes as well as looking for parts, equipment and resources to upgrade the dome. Underground levels would be awesome as well. Just a lot of ideas coming in no particular order.

    From pikmin 4 I would like to see more sprays.first I would like I sweet spray that can mind control 1 enemy at a time then you can switch to it like its a caption then you can use it as a way to get to certain places or get treasure.next you could have a sour spray that would give you the option to convert some pikmin into others,maybe you would get a pikmin for a short time as a form of tutorial then a cutscene happens where the pikmin dies then you use the spray to get them back to repopulate that kind of color.finally there could be a stinky spray to make you invisible to enemy's so you could James Bond your way though enemy to find a onion surrounded by bulbears so you must use the spray to get enough pikmin to activate a way to get out because you've been deprecated from the other onions so your on you own for how ever long it takes you to repopulate the color.
    Anyway those were my ideas,what ideas do you have???

      I defintally hope and think so. I just hope in Pikmin 4 they make the caves make more sense if they are in it. I mean some made sense like the ice caves and maze ones, but, rusty metal floating? toy blocks on a wood floor? toy blocks and buckets on GRASS? UNDERGROUND? And showers? It made no sense unless there is like house buried underground

    Gotta remember the settings are usually places where plants live and could thrive, with the exception of the DLCs which aren't really cannon with the game. With volcanoes or oceans only one type of pikmin could survive there and we've seen how not fun it is being stuck with just one type of pikmin. The ideas could work, like a tropical island with an active volcano that leaks out as scenery, or a underground dungeon that goes deep in an abandoned mineshaft thats getting filled with lava. And instead of a factory it can be an old construction site, like the short movies that you run around on seesaws and such. But not much of this really works if we go by time since Pikmin 3 took place while Pangea Ultima was forming (250 million years in the future) which means most human structures would be gone so bugger it.

      +Viking the Shambling Well, you couldn't pluck pikmin in the Formidable Oak, and even though the onion was there and stuff, I still don't think a plant could grow and turn into a pikmin in a dead tree stump. So maybe you just wouldn't be able to pluck pikmin in a volcano area. Maybe there would be a camp or something at the bottom with dirt so you could pluck pikmin. I don't know, but a volcano sounds awesome. I hadn't thought about it until now.

    I think we should do an Area that is LITERALLY just a giant cave. It will be called “Crystal Caverns” And will have lots of Cool additions to it. Lots of crystals. So we need rock pikmin. A cool thing I’ve always thought of is winged pikmin carrying Other types.
    So it can be all dark like the Forest Navel, But the winged pikmin can carry yellows up to an electric wire connect on the ceiling. It should be like 50 pikmin to connect, And once done you summon the boss, The King Puffstool. Like the Puffstool in 1, Its bigger and better, has maker health, And maybe it can spin to shake spores everywhere. Hopefully we can have a really cool area like this

    From some of the ideas you've said, I think I can expand on those. Areas tailored to each pikmin's abilities, where the player has to go through with a certain type of pikmin in order to clear the way for the other types. You've already mentioned a submerged area requiring the blue pikmin to find and remove plugs, and the unpowered factory that requires yellow pikmin to complete the circuits and reactivate it. The construction area you mentioned as requiring winged pikmin would be so that only very small groups of non-winged pikmin could traverse safely, and the winged pikmin have to place walkways for the other types to access it. A lava area would require red pikmin to divert the lava streams, and the Scorch Guard upgrade would be necessary for the captains to be able to lead them. An area based around purple pikmin would be like a nest full of bulborbs or something, and the player can't attack them without taking heavy casualties unless they throw purple pikmin (they'd have to be un-nerfed, though, and get their stunning property back). A crystal cavern dominated by enemies that can crush or impale would be perfect for rock pikmin. The white pikmin's area could be somewhere where there's a lot of toxic chemicals, and many of the things required to progress are buried underground. And, of course, there would be areas that each require one of the new types of pikmin. Each type of pikmin would be discovered near or just before the start of exploration of their unique area.As a final thing, part of one previous commentor's suggestion was that the snow in the area could melt (producing a flood of sorts) and come back later. This could be extended to all areas, meaning that they change over the course of a single day (some routes get blocked off, others open up, etc.), adding another dimension to time management.Sorry for the very long post!

      Sorry! Just had another idea. What if the areas had such a large geographic separation that once you've spent a day at one area, not all others are available to be explored the next day, unless you go to one specific region. This region would be great for growing pikmin, and act as a "hub" of sorts, in that the day after you visit it, you could explore any unlocked area in the game.
      Connected to this idea of "range", the range can be increased by ending the day early to give the captains more time to get to another area. This way, they can reach an area by sunrise that they couldn't if they waited until the end of the day to leave the current area.
      It would probably get too complicated if the effects of time zones were introduced.
      On a final note unrelated to areas, I'd like to see the Piklopedia return, with both Olimar's and Louie's notes or some equivalent.

    Here are two ideas for area's I would like to see. First, an abandoned city. We all know that pikmin takes place on earth after humans so let's make it official. Second, an area that is one gigantic tree. I know we kind of got that with the formidable oak, but I was thinking more like a sequoia.

    What about a city? Like a broken down one with run down buildings and crashed cars? Most enemies would be disguised like skitter leaves and the occasional bulbear wandering through. And some buildings would act as caves but instead of going down you would go up, and there would be a “new” type of bread bug scavenging for food and would be hostile, openly attacking your pikmin if you get to close to them or their nest.
    Pretty neat idea huh?

    How about different areas with different zones. For example the "Fort of destiny" Can be a simple house and the zones are the kitchen, living room and bathroom. The kitchen can utilize all pikmin as most hazard can be stove gas leaks, overflowing sink, and maybe having to trick a boss into going inside the microwave and using yellows to power it up. The bathroom can be locked and blue exclusive, because it has a small coat of water on the floor. It can revolve around solving pipe puzzles to flood the bathroom and bust down the door allowing other pikmin to enter and do their thing. The living room can be a pretty generic living room. A good introduction. Mostly carry and clean to make way.

    Either an abandoned theme park or some sort of deep mine? Pikmin could be transferred via minecarts and you could kepp traversing deeper until your reach the core, where some volcanic beast lay usurping the cores' power. Also there's a perfect oppurtunity for a new pikmin type - Brown Pikmin! Perhaps they could be some sort of underground mine dwelling pikmin? Maybe even a giant air fortress up in the sky, where a new pikmin type is light enough to travel across the clouds. However strong winds could provide a deadly hazard making a floating wonderland easily transform into a hellish mass of chaotic weather. Finally, an *overgrown factory*. GENIOUS. Technologically advanced pikmin! Half plant, half robot! They could also be green and could maybe have spines, a tail or some use with vines and/or technology. Anyway, without trailers or any further information it's all speculation at this point, so I leave you with my ideas :D

    Sequence of stages and Pikmin discovery in Pikmin 4: Woods(Red) Underground(Puffmin) Garden(Yellow) Jungle(Parasite) Beach(Blue) *Ocean Mountain(Rock and winged Candypop buds) Volcano.*After exploring the beach and finding blues, you walk into the water, which would technically be a new area, but easily accessible directly from the onion.*

    a mansion would be FUN!! dont have a lot of other ideas... an abandoned arcade, a shipwreck, an old airplane.... I'd love to explore at night. I think the garden idea shouldn't go anywhere, and every game has had a sort of tropical/watery area and also some gloom... I think a mountain would be interesting. Overall, I would say the environments havent changed that much and i dont mind it!

    The next Pikmin game could be a mix of mechanics from other games. For example, you must collect food/treasure/ parts in order to go back home to settle a debt to Hocate for not paying back food. The lack of money would lead to a lack of food, and Hocate decided to help you by sending Olimar and Louie in your trip. Maybe one of the areas is a house, and you have to collect treasure in it. Like amiibo (for product placement). The parts would be something along the lines of a 3DS or Wii U Gamepad , thus expanding the ship's radar. The food could be tomatos or other everyday food. The boss would be a big house plant that contains the 3DS, and there would be another boss in the same area that is a cat-like creature, and when you defending it, it would spit out the Gamepad and a pineapple.

      You must also find the Koppai/Hocacate crew scattered throughout the areas. Pikmin ideas would be a Teal Glow in the dark Pikmin that is used to explore during the night and can help you in caves. There would be black Pikmin that can turn into bombs. Grey Pikmin could home onto enemies, and can carry you to hard to reach places.

    I don't know what it is about the Forest Navel, but the map to me is just really nice. It's so different from any other map in pikmin (imo). It was interesting to start at the top of the map where little vegetation was growing and to dive deeper to where fire geysers, bottomless pits, and where mushrooms grew! It just might be me though lol "^_^

    6:47 Where is that? I know it is the Tropical Wilds, but I don't remember an area with a giant ocean and islands in the distance from the game. Is that an area out of bounds or something?
    Anyway, Pikmin 4 area ideas. I love areas that are creepy and mysterious like The Forest Naval and Formidable Oak, and I think an area that takes place in the woods where the trees are dead and leafless would be cool. The area would have a dark lighting and the area could be covered in a fog. The trees would all be dead and some would have collapsed forming bridges for the player to cross. The area would be home to some of the creepier enemies in the game and the boss of the area (that is if they keep the formula of Pikmin 1 and 3) I imagine could pursue the player throughout the level if you accidentally awaken it.
    Another "creepy" area idea I have is a water level, but not like The Distant Spring and Perplexing Pool. Instead I imagine the surface area where you can use all the Pikmin types would look more like the surface of Jolly Roger Bay from Mario 64 where it has a blue tint to it and has sand surrounded by cliffs. You will able to bring Blue Pikmin down to the bottom of the ocean. In this area, just like in real life, the bottom of the ocean is filled with odd and unique creatures. Some will light up your way with their translucent bodies and others will be extremely dangerous.
