- UPDATE 4/3/24--Kingfisher Inn To Stay Closed All Summer For Repairs, and Maybe Longer!
It's Spring 2024! Time for a Garden City Beach Update! Unfortunately, Kingfisher Inn, which is right next to the Garden City Pier, suddenly closed 3/28/24 and evacuated its guest because of possible structural issues. Not good news.
So, is Garden City Beach ready for summer? Are the rumors true that $46 million is going to be invested in its downtown? How's the beach looking? Is Conch Cafe open yet? How about the pier? Watch to find out!

Just standing at the stove cooking pancakes. Watching your vid. Always enjoy your vid on a Saturday morning for me. That parking was super quiet when you first got there.
Nothing better than pancakes on a Saturday morning! Thanks for sharing your Saturday morning with us! I did not see you do your usual Thursday vid? Will look again! Thanks HW

Thank you for watching!!
The garden City Pier also used to be the biggest one on the Grand strand until Hugo Came
Didn't know that! Hopefully these piers will survive future storms. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment!
อากาศดีมากขอให้เป็นวันที่ดี แล้วพบกันใหม่ 💯
Thank you so much! Glad that you joined us on this adventure. See you around soon
Jad a timeshare at the Kingfisher for 25 uears, haven't been since 2002. Miss that place, bit it was run down even back then😞😞
For what I've heard, they still have not come up with a plan on what to do. Repair or tear down....its up in the air. Thanks for your input!
Sounds like a big upgrade happening? The Inn structural issue caused by the build of the pier? Or somehow connected to the delay of the pier? Hmmm...something fishy happening in those waters. Lovely area all the same and a financial injection and effort will crick it up a notch on the place to be I'd say. Thanks for the update. Enjoy the sunshine. Greetings from New Zealand. 😎🙋♀🇳🇿🥝
Hi Anita! The building in the video is actually next to a pier that's one town over from the town that has the concrete Pier, so not related. It seems ever since we had that condo collapse in Florida a few years ago, buildings are going under closer inspection and they found that in this building the building seems to be slipping off of its foundation, increasing its risk for collapse. Hey, thanks for watching. Hope you're having a great day and that you have a great upcoming week. See you around!
@@TravelwithNJSteveandSue oeps my mistake. 😂😂😂 thanks for explaining. 👌
@@IamaDutch-Kiwi Hey, now if you ever come to our East Coast here you have two piers to visit LOL 😂
This is probably not true but i was told by a local that the fish from Myrtle Beach swim to Garden City to make their bowel movements which is why the ph in t he water is high in fungi etc? Also what is the plan for the 42 million?
Never heard that one! As far as the renovation of Garden City Beach, it's been pushed off to 2025 and the money is going to be used to improve the streets, sidewalks, vegetation, and the flooding issue. We will do a follow up story when it gets started next year! Thanks for watching and for asking a question. Oh, and if you are wondering about the Kingfisher Inn, it is still closed, and the owners are trying to decide to either repair it or tear it down.
