The MarshWalk, located in the heart of the historic fishing village of Murrells Inlet, is a half-mile, wooden boardwalk along a natural saltwater estuary. The MarshWalk proudly boasts the most spectacular waterfront dining along the Grand Strand, surrounded by nature’s most beautiful scenery. Restaurants on the MarshWalk, many of which offer live music nightly, include Bovine’s, The Claw House, Creek Ratz, Dead Dog Saloon, Drunken Jack’s, Wahoo’s Fish House, and Wicked Tuna.
Murrells Inlet offers a wide variety of water sport activities including fishing excursions, boat cruises, parasailing, jet skiing, scuba diving, banana boat rides, and more. Also in the Murrells Inlet area is the world-famous Brookgreen Gardens, a 9,100-acre sculpture garden and zoo that has welcomed visitors since 1932, and Huntington Beach State Park, a coastal preserve that features a pristine, rarely crowded beach; Atalaya Castle, pictured here; and some of the best birding in all of South Carolina. More than 300 species of birds have been logged at the park.

    • Nights of a Thousand C...
Just south of Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, 2021-2022 Nights of a Thousand Candles is an amazing event and a remarkable Christmas Light Show! The staff of Brookgreen lights thousands of candles by hand each evening. The candles float on water, hang in the air, dot the massive fields in glass orbs, hurricane lamps and mason jars. The warm, flickering light is amplified by over a million LED lights all over the amazing gardens.
The lights are not the only draw at Nights of a Thousand Candles. Nightly musical entertainment drifts out from under big white tents. Seafood is on hand for dinner. Indoor displays of whimsical Christmas decorations and toys of the past charm visitors. Walk the garden pathways with a warm cup of cider, cocoa, or wine. Hear the sounds of holiday music, carolers singing, and celebrate the season with family and friends!

Congrats on putting together a great video. Well done. I visit there often. Seaford is fresh off the boats, entertainment is great. Brookgreen Gardens is beyond beautiful especially in the spring. Also, great golf courses in the area.

my family has been here since the 1800s and also have ancestors who were in the the Horry Rough and Readys of the CSA. my family owns an acre and a half and across the street there’s a road lined with all of our family members on about 7 acres after my great grandfather distributed the land to all of his kids and it’s still being passed down on wachesaw. we love our hometown but we have to keep it a hidden gem. i find the tourists rude and it’s hard adjusting to the change in energy in my hometown. if you saw how the inlet looked and how great the atmosphere was when i was growing up or in the 80s, you would be surprised. us locals are always called friendly people. i have a large case full of family pictures in the 40s+ all on the inlet. and another fact, brook green gardens was and still is the largest the slave plantation in history. the history of the grand strand is out of this world.

They loved the beach and it was nice that the locals support dogs on the beach. That is getting harder and harder to find in some areas.
