SC Beach Towns You Can Actually Afford To Live In
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 січ 2023
- In today's video, we break down 5 of the absolute best and cheapest beach towns in the state of South Carolina. Some of the most affordable beach areas in SC may come as a surprise. We also will cover some of the best options for retirees in the United States. We will break down things like quality of life, art, culture, entertainment, food, and drink. I took the approach of analyzing each city to consider the median listing price, the median sold price, the value, why people like the town, what makes it popular, and what you can actually buy for the money. The real focus is on small and quaint, but still within close proximity to an attractive city. These are the best beach towns in South Carolina to live in. Pick one of these 5 beach communities and you will find they are more affordable than Florida. If you are= retiring and moving to the beach, out of these beach towns...which one do you pick??

I agree. Just because there is an influx coming to s. Carolina the state is taking advantage of higher pricing. It's called gouging our meager pocketbooks and catering only to the first class people.
Once again, great video. As a Yankee from southern New Hampshire we love visiting South Carolina for vacations. In fact, the last week of April of next year my wife and I have rented a house on Pawley's Island for two weeks. We plan on driving down with our two dogs for some fun in the sun. In the early 1970's I was stationed at Ft Bragg in North Carolina and use to drive my Datsun 360ZX up to Myrtle Beach and play with my GF; man I wished I bought some real estate back then, but making $300 a month on Army pay, I could't cut it. But we are going back to South Carolina soon!!
Love love love Surfside Beach. It's an unspoiled gem and very family friendly!

I’ve lived in Myrtle beach since the mid eighty’s. We live about two blocks from the beach. It’s nice but over the years it’s not the taxes but the home owners insurance. When we first built our home owners insurance was affordable. Now it’s runs like 5000 dollars a year. With high deductibles. It’s nice but the insurance companies have ruined it. I understand about hurricanes but we never had any damage in all the storms that have hit Myrtle beach. We did have trees blow over sometimes. But most of our damage is debris that blows around.
Thanks for sharing your story so others know what it's like to live in Myrtle Beach. You are fortunate to be so close to the beach. Most residents of Myrtle live 10 minutes to the beach and the insurance costs are very reasonable. But I guess that the price you pay to live in paradise! Thanks for watching!
Home owners insurance costs are wreaking havoc on the real affordability . it's depressing, the insurance companies are gouging and dictating what we have to do, which means we don't have choices, the insurance companies are gouging and in command.

People moving in from "out of the area" should consider small towns just above and below MB proper. (If you want to live at the beach.) To the north, there is North Myrtle Beach and Cherry Grove (a part of NMB) and also Little River where I reside. We live there just 4 miles from the beach and we love it. Cherry Grove and NMB have parking and great beaches. Also consider the shore towns of North Carolina which are just minutes away and have great beach towns as well (Calabash, Ocean Isle Beach, and Sunset Beach). To the south, consider Surfside Beach (where we almost bought a house), Garden City, and Murrell's Inlet.
Route 31 connects all of these towns within a 30 minute drive, so you have many choices. But, get here fast because the population is growing with retirees, so MB is not like a shore town in New Jersey! There is no real "off-season"! Good luck, y'all!
Yes i stay cherry grove even in mai its quiet in winter its private beach i was ocean front there its beautiful peaceful ❤❤❤

That is true, But Myrtle Beach SC has THE least expensive and Cheapest Place To Live ON THE BEACH in The U.S. ua-cam.com/video/8freuRL7sOo/v-deo.html You can still buy a condo on the beach for under $100K. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Hello. Can you please do a video on places for Snow Birds to stay? Between January and April. Some places that are furnished.
I used to live in NC and SC. Myself I just look for homes 20 miles inland or (1/2 hour drive to shore). That way, I don't have a long drive to the beaches. Every weekend I was at the beaches. I don't have to live on the beach, just near the beaches. Much cheaper more inland you go. NC I live in Jacksonville and in SC I live in Port Royal. Something to think about. Much further from the hurricanes as well.
What is it like in the MB SC area like to live there in the winter months only as an alternative to being a snowbird in FL?
very informative
Glad you think so! I truly appreciate your comments. Thanks for watching.
Love Surfside Beach!
Would it be any different affordable to buy land and build? Are HOAs required everywhere?
Nice video, I lived in Myrtle from 93 to 97. What's the prices of apartments in Surfside compared to Myrtle? Thx
Thanks for the informative video. From what I have noticed over the last couple years, realty has gotten much more expensive for the size and quality of what you get. I’m not sure how an average home price from 300-500k (depending on area) is 6% below national average though?
Glad you enjoyed this helpful video! Yes you are correct that real estate everywhere in the nation has increased in price over the past few years. The national average price for a home is $385,800. We still have many price points lower than the national average throughout the county of course, the closer you are to the beach the more expensive things are, so its all about location, The reason our are is now ranked so his is the cost of living is lower, the price of a good home is more affordable and SC is know as the 6th least expensive state for property taxes. If you would like for us to send you some properties to take a look at feel free to give our office a call at 843-839-9870 Talks soon!
I agree. For 6% lower in housing costs, the prices mentioned her are quite high. I could buy an estate for what's they are charging for homes here. I'm kinda dubious as to these s. Carolina house prices. And condos are quite small in size for those prices.🤔🤔
@@JerryPinkas ....and this is the reason why no one is buying or moving right now. Most can't afford these prices. The wealthy at the top of the heap have no idea how most Americans live or what they can actually afford, apparently.

If I were to move to an area like this versus western part of state I can be waterfront on a lake $500k ( same house 375k 2 years ago ) . I would want to be on water or water view at 700k in a nice 3 bed house . No idea what condo fees are there but in Florida there crazy. Think will wait till market corrects or look elsewhere
Your right Florida condo fees are super high, especially with all the new Florida insurance mandates. The good news in our area of South Carolina, we still have affordable condos, homes and association fees compared to other parts of the country. There is a reason why US news and world Report just ranked Myrtle Beach South Carolina the #1 fastest growing metro are in the nation 2022-2023.
