  • This video shows some products you can pick up from your big box store or online to treat mosquitos and other insects in the lawn. Click the link below for bifenthrin or the complete insect killer.
Mosquitos love a thick lush lawn, especially when it is watered or getting lots of rain. Don't let mosquitos or other insects get in the way of enjoying the outdoors, especially not your lawn!
The hose end complete insect killer is a great product and very simple to use.
The bifen I/t requires some more work with the measuring and mixing, but will provide that quick knockdown if you need to kill mosquitos fast.

Another option is the Bioadvanced Complete Insect Control granular. $12 for a 10# bag; 10K sq ft for surface bugs, 5K sq ft for soil bugs including white grubs. 3 month coverage they claim. I just put it down today, and within hours we got 3 inches of rain. YES!

I use started with suspend sc. a few years back and the added Biden IT and spray about two weeks apart only every two months. No ants, bees, well just about everything. Use a surfactant as well (I do just for good measure as I have it on hand for my tenacity). Have not have a tick on my dogs in 4 years. Tip. Wear PPP and LONG SLEEVS. Twist nozzle up to hit bottom of leaves on bushes in darker areas.

Do you see any effect on fireflies? If you had fireflies before, do you notice fewer (or none) since spraying/treatment? I have a mosquito problem (mostly aedes albopictus aka Asian tiger mosquito). I've tried some traps with minimal success and I'm considering Bifen I/T or Mosquito Barrier. One of my favorite things about summer is a warm June night, watching the magic of fireflies lighting up my back yard. If either spray I'm considering would eliminate or significantly reduce or repel fireflies, I would prefer to apply a mosquito repellent to my clothing.

Hey, I bought bifen i/t and cutter.... I have a deck in backyard... do you recommend spraying deck down too for mosquito control or only grass areas and bushes/ shrubs? Also do you recommend mixing cutter with the bifen in my chemical sprayer or only use bifen alone in the sprayer at its recommended dose?
    Thankyou

Hi, I sprayed my yard and house all over with bifen.... I sprayed the patio light right outside my door..... so far so good with mosquitos and keeping bugs out, but tonight, 6 days after spraying (no rain for 48 hours after I sprayed) when I was out at night with patio light on, the flies were BAD right at the light... swarming the light.... I sprayed the light and surrounding part of the house by the light... this was the 1st time since I sprayed that I went outside with patio light on..... will the flies that kept hitting the light eventually die off from the residual of the bifen it (7.9%) or is bifen just not effective for flies that are attracted to the light?

Bifen XTS is approx.. 4 times stronger than the I T thereby requiring less product more bang for the buck, I have been using it for several years now, spraying my yard for fire ants with boom sprayer once in the spring and again mid summer. I recently had an in ground irragation system installed, the installer stated to me this was his first experience installing an in ground system this time of year whereby he didnt see any grub worms anywhere in my yard, now can I credit the xts for this and is this a good thing, but it simply works on any bug it comes in contact with lights out hands down best product I've ever used for total insect control....

I just noticed I have a spider issue in my backyard (we may also have a drainage issue as there are wet spots here and there). I just sprayed my entire back yard using an attachment hooked up to a hose with Bifen XTS. How often should I spray using Bifen XTS and will this kill any spiders in the ground?

    • @bluegrasscrazy7307
      @bluegrasscrazy7307 3 роки тому +1

@@DRTOLLZ Adam I have noticed that the Bifen Xts will control insects that are in the ground. The depth I'm not completely sure but fire ant mounds a fairly deep and they control them. I sprayed my yard this past spring but we have had a considerable amount of rain this year and I've noticed the fire ants are returning, under normal conditions XTS normally controls insects for 3 to 4 months again based on rainfall. I've seen years where I only had to apply once in the spring march or April and at times I would have to reapply again in July, its based on amount of rainfall in your area, just so you know Bifen comes in a granular form as well and u can get it from Domyown.com I tried it this year with good results also. Hope this helps....

And you mentioned spraying when they’re active (mosquitos). I’ve also heard it’s good to spray when they’re hiding mid-day under leaves and in bushes? Which is better? Most effective?
Just seems if you’re spraying when they’re active and flying around, you wouldn’t kill them under leaves and in bushes, since they’re not there then? Thoughts?

Gotta love how this guy uses no PPE. No spray boots, no mask, highly toxic to bees bifenthrin is too. Safer to use cedar oil if your going to be reckless with no ppe. Most people in the lawn Care industry don't seem to give a damn about protecting themselves or the environment as long as they just get those pesky bugs and weeds out of their hair. Such first world problems I guess.

It looks artificial so perfect it is...and you have a LOT of grass. I wonder how much of chemicals are introduced in the atmosphere and how toxic can it be along the way to you, family, and pets... I wonder why are you all so crazy about lawns... humans cannot eat it and neither animals with so many chemicals, some man don't even spend quality time with their families as much as they do with the grass. so WHY????? Why don't you plant low high trees for shade, or fruit trees, beautiful bushes and flowers...

I spend plenty of time with my family. I do have good looking bushes and flowers. I have no room for fruit trees or shade trees. Hard to enjoy family time outside with mosquitos and ticks

What a waste of time, anyone can read a label and figure this out. Besides who wants to learn how you poisoned your property?
