There are few things affordable about new cars. Much less one with a heritage like the mustang. For that price of the ecoboost, you could have a really nice v8 in a used car. The ecoboost will hold almost no value in years to come.
Talks about the touchscreen being responsive then if you watch it didn't even start moving til his finger stopped moving. This video has made appreciate independent channels so much more.
Can’t speak to this specifically but I have heard of UI designers intentionally making inputs react this way in vehicles due to the nature of their use. Don’t want a hyper sensitive screen that can behave in ways you may not want it to. Sometimes better to wait until it knows what the user wants for sure before initiating the change.
Don’t know if the tuners will be able to jailbreak the Mustang. Everything I’ve heard to date says they haven’t figured it out yet. On the plus side, my 2018 ecoboost is tunable. Even with just a COBB stage 1+ kit, strut tower brace, and custom 2.5” exhaust it has a few more ponies and torque than stock. Definitely fun on a canyon road.
If I bought a new Ecoboost Mustang, and Ford reminded every time I drove my car that I couldn't afford the one I really wanted by showing me a GT on my infotainment screen, I'm not so sure I would be happy with my purchase. Just saying. They should have done it custom, with model and color purchased. Outstanding review, but I think I like the S550 design better. Performance pkg GT or preferably Mach 1.
When I watch these videos about people breaking down the good and bad of vehicles I never hear mention of how good the air conditioner works or how good the stereo system is or how comfortable the seats are how does it look interior wise on the floor in the back how big is a glove compartment in the compartments on the side and the middle console things like this that some of us would like to know maybe someone will listen to my whining and maybe give us a little more information. Thank you in advance.
In all objective ways the new mustang is always the best mustang . They are like all cars getting increasingly expensive but improve over time even if some " feel " is lost . I would like to see a shootout with a cherry fox body vs a base eco boost to see how far cars have come . Then move up to a 4.6 car and so on . I would even like to see a test against a 90s 00s Z28 or SS Ls1 car . The 4cyl base stang has the same tq as an LS1 car and down on HP a bit but with the 10spd auto probably holds its own in some ways if not most or all. I would still prefer a cherry 98SS MT car but i would admit the ecoboost would be a better car stock vs stock in some metrics most noteably smoothness and NVH . Its kinda nutty to get the performance upgrades on the eco boost but it would probably go through cones better and backroads etc. And if anybody is honest a 1LE 4cyl camaro with a much lamer engine then current eco boost is gonna be more fun on back roads being pushed then most anything and why Randy Probst has one for street driving despite being a great pro driver who can afford better ( pretty sure GM hooked him up but it makes sense if you actually want to push a car on public back roads, you dont get the big powered cars if your that good of a driver , you kinda need something good but not to fast and heavy, or a porsche that is just too good to have actual fun with ).
It was nice to see all the press guys driving the Stangs up on the Crest that day. One of the benefits of living a mile off of ACH is seeing press drives.

As a s550 owner this is not worth the buy. A optioned gt, just get the dark horse. At the dark horse price, we are nearing c8 , m2, etc. A loaded dark horse is almost 80k. Way too much for a mustang.
I own a 2008 C6 Corvette Z51 w/6speed manual I bought new on August 30 2008 for $44,000,00 plus tax and tags, I love it. There has not been another vehicle I could not best yet. Though if I were to purchase another new car it would be the 2023/24 Mustang GT w/the performance pkg and the special exhaust pkg. Always wanted a Mustang convertible (well I did own a 1964 Chevy II convertible in 1972).. I would be torn between the choice of the manual 6speed and a automatic though. Blame that choice my age.I also owned a 1970 Chevy C-20 Pickup 350 cid w/heavy duty on the floor 4 speed tranny (in 1971) that could beat, at the time, my friend's 1966 Corvette Sting Ray convertible. But my favorite car was a 1970 Cadillac Deville Convertible that was the best performing vehicle I had driven at the time.And, IMO, a beautiful car as well. Anyways, the next new car. if I buy one will be 2023/24 Mustang GT Convertible. just saying *I also owned a 1963 Chevy Corvair Covertible, a 1964 Dodge Dart, a 1978 Olds Cutlass, a 1964 Chevy C-10 Pickup Trick, a 1966 Chevy C-10 Panel Truck, a 1997 Ford Econoline 1 ton Van amd a 2004 Ford 1 ton econoline Van w/dieswl motor, a 2011 Chevy Avalanche ...
Good review but the rear haunches are from the 67,68 fastback Mustang. The Camaro stole that from the 67,68 fastback Mustang it was the first to have those lines.

S550 will live as the last true mustang. The interior lost all of its lines in had for years. Nobody in a sport car wants all that crap. Just want to drive it.
I’ll wait for the refresh in 2025 or 2026 hopefully the ipad screens will be deleted and the screen displays will be integrated in the dashboard itself. I actually think the S550 pp1 dash was perfect. They could of just integrated displays into the S550 dash.
I'll be keeping my '23. I don't like the new interior or the fragile looking screens. Plus the GT still has that awful MT82 transmission and that awful shifter that will 100% lock you out of gear when driving it hard. Nope, no thanks.

The Mustang is NOT a Musclecar - Those are GTO's Chevelles, Chargers, Galaxys - Mid to Full Size cars, room for 5 or more 6 with a bench seat in front. The Last Musclecar is the Dodge Charger. The Mustang is a Pony Car. It's a sporty car, 2+2 with a big engine.
I'll bet it's not the last gas powered muscle car. The lithium future is sparkles and dreams -- literally no one can talk through the logistics of making it actually happen within the next 2 decades, particularly in terms of battery production at scale or power grid preparedness
I love looking at the shots of the engines; It's like being in a museum for the extinct. So many moving parts, so many visits to the dealership for maintenance and repair. So many trips to the gas station. One day we will look at the ICE as; "what were we thinking."
@@tesla_models The 1969 Boss 429 is my favorite Mustang off all time. Clean and mean BUT… The New Edge 03/04 Cobra is great looking. Instant classic The S197 11-14 GT500 is exceptional looking, great proportions and timeless. This one is clean and mean like the ‘69 Boss 9 (with the stripe delete). Future classic The 16-20 GT350 is great looking, IMO. Will never looked dated or cheesy. Good proportions. The 2020 GT500 looks tough. Very aggressive and attractive proportions. A little busy in details but will also age well in spite of it.
Audi headlights, boxy front end, dash screens do not look integrated into the dash...i prefer the last body style, cleaner lines, sleeker look...corvette has the cockpit nailed...
Clearly a better car than previous models. Just wish Ford took 5 more minutes to make it look different than the previous generation. Drift brake is a nice touch but most drives will either never use or only use once. Ecoboost is a good option, but needs functional hood vents, remember 2015 problems? Dash board is good but it should have been integrated into the dash, not just an Ipad jammed behind the steering wheel. I am sure 15-23 received as much dislike. I like my 2020, its drawback is the cheap infotainment. This car has too many gimmicks, but perhaps that is what you need to entice the current generation. Also get rid of the shark fin please.
Oh man where do i start, lets see its over priced i bought a mustang back in 2017 for 33-34k msrp thats a 30% increase on 5 years lol am sure that in this day in age the typical Middle classer which is who buys these did not get a 30% raise! Black wheels never look better than flat or polished metal. Hopefully Ford offer alternative wheels other than black gloss painted wheels that look small and low rent

UGLIEST dashboard ever made. Tablets glued to the dashboard, and called it next generation? Electronic A/C buttons? Just wait until you need to adjust A/C temperature while driving, and damm screen has little bit of moisture in it that will not allow it to detect your finger touch... I’m Sorry but if FORD wanted to come up to the 21st Century they would have put Battery Hybrid Motor using one of their NEWER 3 CYL engines and a CVT Tranny to help Improve the MPGs to begin with. Yes the old original supras were tough and great. These bmw engineered have killed Toyotas reliability record too

Thoughtful changes on dash? I think it was how cheap can we go put up 2 screens without any thought to design.

Everything is good apart from the dashboard. Dashboard is too large . Will prefer a bit smaller and curved dash. Rectangular big dashboard ❤😮

The elongated screen on the dash ruins its appearance, especially where it is supposed to be a sports car. Half of it would have been fine.
The wheels on the performance package mustang are 19x8.5 compared to the outgoing models 19x9… why would Ford put narrower wheels?

The Ford website clearly shows 19 x 9 on the Ecoboost Performance Package and 19 x 9 Front + 19 x 9.5 Rear on the GT Performance Package.

The interior quality was also cheapened in some areas. That Mustang button is an example

The 16-20 GT350 is great looking, IMO. Will never looked dated or cheesy. Good proportions.
The 2020 GT500 looks tough. Very aggressive and attractive proportions.
A little busy in details but will also age well in spite of it.

Audi headlights, boxy front end, dash screens do not look integrated into the dash...i prefer the last body style, cleaner lines, sleeker look...corvette has the cockpit nailed...

Clearly a better car than previous models. Just wish Ford took 5 more minutes to make it look different than the previous generation. Drift brake is a nice touch but most drives will either never use or only use once. Ecoboost is a good option, but needs functional hood vents, remember 2015 problems? Dash board is good but it should have been integrated into the dash, not just an Ipad jammed behind the steering wheel. I am sure 15-23 received as much dislike. I like my 2020, its drawback is the cheap infotainment.
This car has too many gimmicks, but perhaps that is what you need to entice the current generation.
Also get rid of the shark fin please.

With a mod and tune this bad boy will continue to lay waste to the street racing scene like the S550 ten speed has been doing. I'm going to get an S650 in 2025 unless I spring for an S550 GT500.
If I'm getting a Mustang it'll definitely be a 5.0, not the eco-boost.
Black wheels never look better than flat or polished metal. Hopefully Ford offer alternative wheels other than black gloss painted wheels that look small and low rent

I just don't like this 2024 version, i don't like the design of the front end and i don't like this huge screen "sitting" on the dashboard. Ford's marketing department destroyed a good product.

UGLIEST dashboard ever made. Tablets glued to the dashboard, and called it next generation? Electronic A/C buttons? Just wait until you need to adjust A/C temperature while driving, and damm screen has little bit of moisture in it that will not allow it to detect your finger touch...

I’m Sorry but if FORD wanted to come up to the 21st Century they would have put Battery Hybrid Motor using one of their NEWER 3 CYL engines and a CVT Tranny to help Improve the MPGs to begin with. In the Digital Cluster they could have added a Talking Mustang Horse like MY LITTLE PONY telling jokes poking fun at the drivers. I mean Hello FORD. 😅
