For some people, hating on Mustangs is a whole damn lifestyle. There are more Mustang haters than almost every other car, save one (looking at you, Corvette haters lol). Personally, as someone that graduated high school in 1992, Mustangs will always have a place in my heart. I don't know who the first person was that mated some OG Flowmaster 40 series to a 5 liter, but everyone owes that person a giant THANK YOU! Outside of some exotics, it is possibly the greatest sounding exhaust note of all time lol. Easily recognizable from literally a mile away! Awesome review Sarah!

Graduated in '94. I bought a '65 Mustang with a blown 170 cu inch straight six. I dropped an '80s 302 small block into it, and had some pipes bent for 2-chamber Flowmasters. Didn't go very fast with the stock 3-speed transmission and one-wheel-peel rear diff. But it sounded amazing rolling into high school.

    • @saganworshipper6062
      @saganworshipper6062 Рік тому +10

@@Lurker-dk8jk There was literally no better sounding car than a 5.0 in 1992. I'm not even a Mustang fanboy. I've only owned 1. But credit where it is due. I loved that era and I bought a mint low mile 1991 Thunderbird Supercoupe, fully loaded with a rare 5 speed in the year 1999 for like $5k. I actually wanted one of those just to be different from the Mustang guys but when they were new they weren't cheap and I couldn't afford it. I still miss that car even though it was just a 3.8L V6 but it had an Eaton M90 supercharger from the factory and with a few tweaks it gave you 350 torque which was more than a stock Mustang. But it NEVER sounded anything like a Foxbody and too heavy so it was slower than the Mustang too lol.

I don't hate the Corvette, but I'm disappointed that you can't get a manual transmission anymore. Also, I would have preferred it remain front-engine.

Now, given all the technology we have in our lives, it just seems worthless and w/o value. The interior looks strange with the gargantuan screens. Loved the review. Can’t wait to see the new 2024 Mustang in person. I may have to trade in my 2022 Camaro. And I agree, the back end does look like that of the Camaro

I test drove a Dark Horse prior to getting my G82 M4C(though that was an huge ordeal in and of itself)and I was throughly impressed with the new Mustang. Quite a difference from a decade ago when I last test drove one. Ford has made huge improvements across the board especially the interior. It/they sound better than my M4 but it was not quite as quick. I will say I would be happy to own one if not for my BMW. Great review btw.

I have an S550 and I couldn't be happier. However, I totally understand the appeal of picking up one of the S650's. I would wait a few years so they can iron the tech out, though. Every time there's new tech, we don't find out the glitches until it's out for a while. Otherwise, I agree. G7 carries the Mustang banner very well. Finally, I love that this car seems to represent the middle finger to the EV's out there.

So for those trying to enjoy the last hurrah of the ICE and stick-shifts, would you suggest the Mustang's aural V8 thrills or the sportscar joys of a new 86?
Not a hypothetical, as I'll actually be making this choice shortly. :)

It actually uses more robust parts than a standard 8.8
Its literally called the "Super 8.8"
It has 34 spline axles and AFAIK the ring gear has more robust mounting to the carrier (but its still 8.8 inch diameter).
This is probably one of the strongest IRS diffs u can buy
And EVERY S550 stang had a limited slip diff, regular ones have a Ford Perfomance clutch type diff while the performance pack has a
    Torsen.
FWIW I like the shift feel of the MT82

I was going to say this. The stock diff is only a 2 pinion and dirt cheap from Ford.

"Horses are jacked!" OK! 😂😂 I dig this review. It's a fair and honest assessment of the car, and the humor and entertainment stands right there with Joe Raiti on his channel, and Bill of Curious Cars.

The Dodge Challenger is still the only American muscle car that still looks like a muscle car. The Mustang, Charger, Camaro and even the Corvette all look like sports cars now. This Mustang looks a little more muscle than the previous, but it's not quite there yet.
