    I'm living proof that Cody during his Dual Survival show days and the knowledge he shared saves life. I live in Maine and got turned around/lost in the woods in early winter. Used many tactics and survival skills learned from that show to stay alive for the 6days I was lost. thank/love you Cody you really do help people survive!

    I am rather new to learning the Primitive ways but I most definitely willing to forget all of this technology I don't have much to do with it now as is I love live off the land feel and so interested in learning more I would gladly be willing to take this on for a lifetime's worth of time and pass this knowledge on to my children because you never know when you may need it and the love of the skills that you get in the feel you get from living off the land and using the resources given to you by Mother Earth is a feeling that nothing can't compare to just wanted to say great job all of you and keep up the good work.

    I have the utmost respect for you gentlemen! I fully agree with your views on the topic of knowledge and giving the acknowledgement of the people who taught you. I have been living simply based on the Foxfire books. I received my first one while I was in the scouts and continued to get the entire set since then I have been studying and practicing the teachings of an enormous amount of information on every subject of living without power equipment. I since have built up a complete tool set and have done most of the projects Roy Underhill taught on the PBS series. The main thing I've taken from learning how to live like our ancestors did is that a common person who takes the time to learn can achieve some amazing results and simultaneously have food, furniture, create from raw materials the tools to help make jobs easier and the peace of mind that comes along with knowing how to live..not survive..but live with the land. I'm now in my mid fifties and just recently have noticed the resurgence of younger people who are interested in learning old skills. Weather it be foraging for wild edibles or growing crops for canning to homesteading. The fact that it's becoming more popular is refreshing. Thanks for sharing your skills and experience with the people who have the interest to learn skills that would otherwise be lost to time.

      If you go to Rabbitstick and pay attention about a third of the people there have been on one or many TV shows from Alone, to Dual Survival, to the one I was on, Bushcraft Build-off on Discovery. • @TJackSurvival
      @TJackSurvival  6 років тому

      So not Switzerland but I know who you can talk to in Germany and England and Finland. Look upTaro movies on UA-cam and find Taro in Germany, look up Ray Mears in England, and look up Thetopicala in Finland. You do have Bushmoot, and that moves around but I think this year it's in Finland. Also in England at Exeter is a traditional group that professionally does hide tanning, that you can look into. I sure they exist in Switzerland but I don't know of any of them personally.

    • @pascalmarti4403

      Thank you very much. Finnland and England are a little too far away for me. But i managed to find someone who teaches survival knowledge not that far from here. Found him via his youtube channel survival-kurse. and he even organizes a gathering where i hope to find some contacts. I also hope for my uncertainties concerning our local laws to be adressed - survival related activities are very restricted by law in switzerland. Doesn't help that we have 24 different sets of (cantonal) laws either. Thats the downside of a country thats far too crowded and has far to less wilderness if any.....

      Cody is in for the biggest survival show of his life - dealing with shark lawyers and scum bags in the TV show media. I am a major whistle-blower (tied to banking screw jobs) in NYC and was targeted because I believed in the truth too - I've realized sometimes the very wealthy do not like that - I wish Cody could find a new show and let it be a reality situation where he can speak freely - knowing what I know about scum - most likely he had some kind of contract with Discover and it may have included non-disclosure and other restrictions, which, of course, are not in place during the proceedings - if you speak to Cody, or he reads this, I wanted him to know we miss him and he should do more You Tubes and do NOT let them ruin him - he made that show and if he ever wants to reach media here in NYC - he can reach out - As a NJ-NY, I miss the desert myself - I had 2 special times in Arizona and I would value so much going back out there - peace in the New Year 2017!

    TO point codys right, its easier to do back yard vids, but a lot of my videos are in the feild and my practice is every year, on survival trips, to gain true knowledge, i'm humble and can always learn more. but a lot of peoples are that way, my vids are not all the time, but that is because where i go tend to not want to carry camera gear that far, but at the same time working on getting a more portable kit to film with

      TJack Survival not the whole video. I love cody and followed him from the beginning. Way before tv. I just hate he is sour still so openly. Its ok to be upset i get it he was shit on. To each their own. I will wade through the negative to find the knowledge i seek. Always extremely leary of self described "experts" Dr. Hood taught me that along time ago so i understand where they are coming from.

    • @TJackSurvival

      I agree and understand. It would benefit us all if he got over it and got back on TV, or video somehow. But his free agency is just that, his. In the meantime, I'll be filming the people that taught him and learned alongside him and anyone else that I can find that I can vet to be quality so that the information spreads and teaching/learning never stops.

    I wholeheartedly agree with Cody about the backyard bushcrafters and suburbia survivalists. I get asked all of the time about this guy and that guy. What do I think about their skills, blah, blah, blah . . . . I've seen quite a few that have a huge following; which is sad, because the "fans" of those types of "experts" are being led down the primrose path.The majority of internet survival guru experts are pitchmen, peddling their wares much like Billy Mayes and Anthony Sullivan's infomercials, they're selling the latest, greatest, whiz-bang survival must-have, gear, knives, etc., all for a few $$& and self-promoted pseudo-notoriety.Theses types of "experts" don't have the first clue what it truly takes to be self-reliant or to live completely remote or a hunter-gatherer lifestyle, because once they turn off the video camera, they simply walk 20 feet to their comfy suburbia homes 🏡, grab the Doritos and a soda, plop down in their favorite La-z-boy recliner and watch the latest episode of the current reality fad TV survival show on their 50" flat screen.The primitive/self-reliant/hunter-gatherer life that people love, live and teach, were/are people like Larry Dean Olsen, Steve Watts, Mors Kochanski, Dave Wescott, Matt Graham, and myself, have been living this way for many years, and do so because it's our passion. We have a fire in our souls that cannot be traded for "endorsement deals" or free products to "review."Personally, I share my knowledge in the hopes that what I have spent a lifetime accruing in experiences and knowledge will benefit a next generation and ignite a passion to explore all of the realms that Mother Nature has to offer.

      These skills and those who teach them are invaluable to us all. And learning to do them correctly is Paramount in the chance that you really need to do them.
