Super Toss the turtle still has cry as a selectable character but it still works fine since the goal of the game is to horribly maim your selected character and keep it going as long as possible.

It had some development in the 90s but was abandoned to work on the other more promising movies. The idea of being the last one left was then made into WALL·E’s backstory, with him being the last waste load lifter operating because humans forgot to turn him off.

Update: Cry was also a cameo in "The UA-camr Party Massacre" fangame starring Jacksepticeye. But unlike Legend of the Brofist, Cry has no role there at all, just a oneshot appearance so it's slightly better.

also this game is such heavy nostalgia for me, i was there when all this was happening, i put Pewds' Amnesia custom map playlist on and watched for hours, watched animatics with all these guys and just

I played this game a ton when I was younger because Jack and Mark brought so much comfort to me, I didn’t even watch Pewds 😭 i remember it being super fun though

Man the references right in the intro of the game. The "Contain, Contain." is a Daleks reference from Doctor Who. They are similarly barrel shaped and would say" Exterminate. Exterminate." in the same way. The "All your fans are belong to us." comes from a meme based on a poorly translated phrase from the opening cutscene of the Japanese video game Zero Wing.
the devs could take an easy dub by changing Cry's avatar name to Dream's, and I wouldn't care if it caused chaos.

The amount of nostalgia that slapped me in the face after the mention of RushJet1 was so intense bro oh my god.
I memorized nearly every robot master theme from every classic game, but even I can admit the OST of Legend of the Brofist is pretty damn good

That companion characters system is basically what Donkey Kong country had as well. Although you could also play as them and have unique abilities tied to them in later entries.
Honestly a lot of mechanics in this game seem like pretty nice callbacks or inspirations from classic platformer series, which certainly isn't a bad thing. But yeah seems the devs played a lot of those games growing up if their game design is anything to go by.

As one of the two Mega Man fans that watch your content, this game's OST definitely gives most of classic Mega Man a run for its money in terms of music, this shit is good as hell
The main reason marzias here is because a: shes his significant other, and b: the second level needed a second character for co-op (which, btw makes pug mode much easier.... Imagine that, a game that came out in the last decade where the hardest difficulty is designed for co-op)
Since you brought up the enemy bouncing mechanics so often, im surprised you never brought up shovel knight, another platformer where thats a major mechanic.

This video is so nostalgic for me. I used to be a big pewdiepie fan (until the event happened… you know what I’m talking about) and I watched his content religiously. I’m almost embarrassed that I understand almost all of the references in this game and remember them so well. I played this game an unspeakable amount of times when it came out so every level is a nostalgic bullet to my head. So many things and memes I had completely forgotten about

I genuinely did not expect you to cover and make a video about legend of the brofist out of anything else, and honestly, I'm glad you did. Happy in fact. Legend of the brofist is a legitimately great game with unique concepts and a huge step of the right direction for the developers. Tuber Sim as well is a good step in my opinion as that game as well (aside from its flaws) is a great game if you give it time and learn from the community in it. And about future updates, Outerminds is working on two other games. One is a platformer like legend of the brofist called "Turbo Kid" which is based of a movie with the same name, and another game (which is more of a side development thing) called "And Scene!" which is like tuber sim with extra steps. Both of those games are pretty much the spiritual successors of the previous games I mentioned and I believe they would be a blast to play

Watching and Listening someone who has little to no idea about 2015 pewdiepie lore or the forest explain shannon with the delivery of shannon being a drunk and the photo of her being dead on a beach made me laugh so much, being reminded of stuff like this that I forgot about will never cease to make me happy. Amazing video, the amount of in-depth you went on a 2D youtuber platformer is very impressive!
Whenever I revisit this game, I almost always play Tree Tops, on Bro Mode, with one of the winged characters. This is because after jumping on the first enemy, it’s possible to beat most, if not all of the level without ever hitting the ground under the circumstances I listed above (bro mode with wings).

I know the Duck is already a playable character but they should’ve replaced Cry with the Duck, they already did that with the other characters if your playing as them, and it would’ve been a clever way to remove a character without destroying the story (plus according to you the Duck isn’t a good character so just give him Cry’s moveset)

I still have Legend of the Brofist on my phone and I beat the game on both normal and hard. It’s nowhere near an all-time favorite but it’s a fantastic gem of a gem

I bet that there were supposed to be more airplane levels before each Nostalgia Clouds level, and when they decided to cut the plane levels, they weren't sure where to put the cloud levels. So they made them side content.

there’s a chance that a lot of the dlc music and music in general is obtainable in Pewdiepie’s tuber simulator. It’s been a while since i’ve played though so i don’t exactly remember. But there’s at least incredibly similar music
1:39:27 Not just that either even for a TLDR. He fucked over his friends (The guys in Late Night with Cry and Russ) by trying to get on with their girlfriends amongst other things. Reaaally puts into perspective what kind of person they are.
The detail of enemies exploding into gorey pieces in this game is actually kind of a neat homage to the Happy Wheels Let's Play scene that was really big back in 2012, and something that all of these featured UA-camrs have played before.

Probably alone on this but i do wish they remade this game. They could take out Cry and the jokes between him and Pewds, and maybe add a new friend he has. Or not. Though, i hear Pewds and Mark arent really friends anymore. I think Mark said they just drifted apart.

I think its funny that whenever unyeah shows us a snippet of the ingame music he seemingly shows us the most boeing part, and then when he goes back to talking and the music fades out, a better part of the music plays

I actually remember getting this game as soon as it came out for my iPad. I have fond memories of it and even still have it on my old iPad despite not touching that thing in years. I even managed to download it my phone, though its currently offloaded to save space for other things. Still, often times I wonder if I should redownload it back for a nostalgic good time...disregarding the green hoodied elephant in the room.
Also strangely enough, when I checked the App Store, as of the time I’m writing this comment, the game is still on the App Store.
I have only two ideas that I could see it getting ported with an update to solve the elephant issue. One is that reskin Elephant into the pugs chicken fight style and use stock pug noises to redo lines. The companions could be reskinned to be mini pewdiepie & (I forget her name) then the enemies could turn to lil pugs.
Or as an exploding cow with cow noises. Compaintions could be milk cartons or somthing anything else.
I've been watching Pewdiepie, jacksepitceye, Markiplier and cinnamontoastken since early 2014. Seeing references from a decade ago in this video and remembering every single piece of lore behind them (I.e., Stefano, Jennifer, tiny box Tim, etc) genuinely brought back feelings and nostalgia that brought a tear to my eye, they were so overwhelming (in a good way). Thank you so much for making a video on this absolute gem that made majority of my tweens to early teenagehood ❤
