WHY I FEED RAW MEATY BONES👇
    🦴 Essential nutrients
    🦴 Scrubs teeth clean
    🦴 Enrichment & exercise
    Raw meaty bone examples:
    🦴 Chicken feet
    🦴 Chicken neck
    🦴 Duck neck
    🦴 Chicken wing
*Always raw, never cooked or smoked
✨These are highly digestible because they’re raw & mostly soft bone & cartilage ✨
    🦠WHAT ABOUT SALMONELLA?
It’s not a worry for my dogs because👇
    ✅ I buy responsibly sourced human grade🦴
✅ Find at local pet shop or farmer’s market
✅ Dog’s stomach acid is ~1-2, which makes it an unfavorable environment for bacteria like Salmonella & E. coli (ie dogs are designed to digest 🦠)
    ✅ I wash my hands & surfaces
    WHAT ABOUT CHOKING?! 👇
👉 I feed the dog in front of me, & I teach my dogs to chew
👉 I start with easy bones, like raw chicken feet. I hold it until my dog learns to chew (not gulp)
    👉 I always supervise
    🚨 REMEMBER 🚨
Every dog is different, & EVERY chew, bone or toy can be dangerous
🧦 Dogs get blockages from socks daily
🌳 Dogs choke trying to eat sticks
🪨 Dogs chip teeth trying to chew rocks
These are what work for my dogs & I! You are your dog’s best advocate- so tell me, do you feed raw meaty bones, too?!
If I was just starting out, I’d start VERY slow and would safely hold the raw bone if I could to teach my dog to chew instead of gulp. I’d only allow my dog to chew for ~5 mins then take away, to let their GI system get used to the richness! I don’t share this to tell you what to do, rather, share an important food I give my dogs daily for you to research!

Do recommend against feeding dogs larger bones like chicken legs? Or is it based on the dog and circumstance? Ex: the dog has been taught to chew not swallow and is supervised when eating.

@@rosalina2773 because they need the raw bones in their diet, and bones aren't safe for them to eat when they are cooked. Not only that, but dogs have been eating raw meat for tens of thousands of years (maybe longer) so that's what their digestive system will get the most nutrients from. They are not supposed to eat cooked meat as a staple in their diet.

Never met a dog that didn't like raw . You do realise there are additives that attract the dog by smell in these cremated sawdust and chemical balls . Dogs taste buds are nothing like a humans . Don't give the dog a choice , put raw down if the dog doesn't eat it in 20 minutes pick it up and don't put it back till the next day . That's how it's done. Raw feeding has been overcomplicated because greed has set in , everyone wants to make huge profits . I even feed mine roadkill if its fresh but kibble , over my dead body . I work out of a van most of the year so freezer isn't an option and it's not easy but my dogs come first and I know other dog handlers that are in the same boat . There's no excuse for not feeding raw from the dogs point of view.

Love it! Note tho that kibble fed dogs do NOT have the same gut biome or Ph. . . So should be transitioned over time OR given digestive supplements and prebiotic to develop the "highly acidic" environment. Just so folks know bc you will reach kibble feeders....hopefully they convert!

Having a chihuahua as a pet has been an incredible journey, especially when it comes to his diet. The initial encounter with raw food was quite amusing. My little 14 year old fur baby gave me a puzzled look, as if questioning the strange meal I presented him with, but as I patiently transitioned him from kibble to raw food over a month, his enthusiasm skyrocketed! Now, he eagerly devours raw food, particularly relishing the raw chicken neck with bone. Witnessing his newfound excitement for dog food is truly heartwarming.

Even though it's very beneficial, some dogs just don't chew bone properly. I came across another channel in which the owner feeds their dog raw but grinds it up. The reason was because a piece of bone was lodged in the intestines and as a result he needed surgery. They've since grind the meat and never had the issue. And as someone with lots of bills an emergency vet visit is the last thing I want to worry about.

    • @rosalina2773
      @rosalina2773 Рік тому +2

Yeah it’s not worth the risk to me. My dog broke a tooth on a bone once which then needed to be removed. I trained my pets to let me brush their teeth regularly. I’ll feed some foods with ground bone but never whole bone. Just because something is natural doesn’t necessarily mean it’s always the best thing. I mean wild animal’s life expectations are often so much lower than their captive lifespan, and this isn’t just due to being prey or illnesses. It also comes down to receiving precise nutrition in captivity.

Beef or lamb is fine. You can even feed them cooked bones as long as it isn’t bird bones (chicken). Birds and mammals have completely different bone structures making bird bones sharp and dry when cooked. People often forget that dogs, apart from breeds meant to just sit on their owner’s laps (like shitzu or Maltese), aren’t that distant to wolves.

I have always thought it was the best thing for her but have recently been seeing articles about 'don't do it' because of bacteria, some weird neurological disease that can come from it, and also skin allergies caused by raw chicken... I'm sooooo confused. My dog seems to love them but I have noticed that she is sometimes licking her paws, and scratchy so I don't know if I'm doing her harm.. This video follows my beliefs so I hope it's right :)

yeah, I read some articles about that as well, that it causes paralysis in dogs because of a bacteria in raw chicken, a few of them died, though most of them recovered, I believe it was an Australian research. I'm afraid to give them raw chicken because of that but at the same time I want them to have bone on their diets 😩😣 I'm thinking about sealing the meat with the bone inside and then grind it, hoping to reduce the bacterial load, if that makes sense. I can't think of another solution.

Generally, dogs should not eat raw chicken as part of their regular diets. The bacteria from the uncooked meat-salmonella, campylobacter-can poison dogs, and any bones in the chicken can hurt their digestive systems.

Hearts are muscle meats. Liver and other secreting organs are essential. With the liver, you don't have to feed it daily. A couple of times a week should be OK. Eggs are excellent. Green tripe is even better. BJ'S raw pet food has course and finely ground green tripe. I have found they like the course ground tripe better. It does stink but they not only love it but it's so nutrient dense, so good for them

Grinder or blender. For large amounts, a grinder would be useful. For grinding wings or other bones that aren't dense then a good quality blender would do. As for the grinder, make sure it's a 22 or if they have a 32 or even a 42. Weston has grinders and the higher the number, the faster and more it can grind. I have a 22 and I needed a 32 or even higher. Hobart has grinders but they have the heavy duty grinders that can grind anything but they are so expensive and you have to have the room for one.
