This man is a heaven sent. I was having a hard time with my 2 month old husky and within 2 days of watching his videos, it’s like I have a brand new puppy. Thank you!
This is such a relief to read. My springerdale (patterdale x springer spaniel) is biting hard. When we walk past her or when we are playing, worse with my kids and partner as I am the one who trains her so I'm worried she doesn't respect them but she is only 8 weeks old. Definitely going to try this. I need a collar first though. Only had her a few days x
@@rebeccawilliams2410 A spray bottle might also do the trick, but Will's idea of the quick "chhht" with a little jolt on the pup is a similar tactic. Both have worked tremendously in my opinion. It seems to be about timing (getting it right at the site of biting/nipping) and being firm and consistent. My puppy got it real quick that this behavior wasn't acceptable.
This is my confirmation. I just prayed because I’m having so much trouble with my new rescue. When my husband goes to work I become my dogs favorite chew toy I feel like and it keeps getting worse and ruining our bond bc there’s no break from it. I prayed and this video popped up and I just feel like it’s really gonna work. Tried so many different videos
I agree I'm training our 12 week pup but when I work my family isn't as stern with their commands and training is basically done at a minimum lol so when I get back the pup forgets or doesn't obey them and listens to me only so it's a huge issue rn trying to train her and she's a siberian husky which already tells u she's stubborn to begin with 😆
@@naiselisor590 I have the same issue it's not good is it. We need to train the humans first lol My 6 month husky left marks on my 11 yr old because she doesn't do as iv said she's soo playful with him and just lays on the floor laughing at him when he gets a bit too giddy and mouthy with her. She's not his friend now lol
@@louisemorrow8014 yea not working out so well here either my 5 hr old laughs and runs away and my 14 yr old just says ouch and better yet walks away. I gta find a new method and maybe get her with other dogs cause she's just not getting it to not bite. She bites soft then hard so gta find something else or another way to get her to stop. She won't even go for her toys either.
@@naiselisor590 yeah that's what he does soft then hard. He listens to me but if playing with toys he's so giddy and is not gentle. I make him calm, sit and wait. It works sometimes lol maybe they will grow out of it 🤷♀️😂
Been battling with my sheprador for the last 11 days, and I was about to give up. UA-cam recommended this video today - I immediately applied the technique and was floored by how easy and effective it was. THANK YOU for sharing this!
Within moments, my 7-month-0ld border collie/pit mix understood the hissing sound and slight touch to startle him into paying attention followed by redirecting the biting and giving him a chewy rope and finally reinforcing that same behavior by rewarding him with treats. The steps lowered anxiety for both of us, Thank you. I'll continue watching.
The active method was completely harmless to my pup and she took the correction near immediately! Thank you so much! We had tried redirection with a toy and that wasn’t working at all. Two or three corrections and she stopped the mouthy and started giving kisses (which is totally new for her!)
WOW! My 8 week old Pomsky puppy only ever wanted to bite me and not her toys - Saying NO! loudly whilst tapping her nose only encouraged her. I never thought this video would work although after a couple of minutes of using this technique, she has never bitten me since and only her toys! It's a miracle! Thank you! 😁
Will I can’t thank you enough for all of your vids. As a first time dog owner they’ve been invaluable. I love how you really understand the psychology and communicate that so clearly and succinctly
You might have a dog like mine who does react to the correction negatively or your sees it as a game because your timing isn't right. This worked for me: I had a fenced puppyproof area in the house. I would come to her and play, she would become overexcited and when she bit me, I did a vocal correction and left the fenced area... 3 minutes later I would try again. Whenever she bites on clothes, i correct and than redirect to a toy and praise heavily. Within 3 days we removed puppybiting for 99%.
Question. Did she get worse and then get better? I tried in my puppies crate she bit me then if correct. When she wasn’t biting my hand in front of her I gave her many treats. But outside of the crate she reacts like I’m attacking her. Wont even acknowledge her toys because she’s out for blood. I’m questioning myself bc I don’t want to make her fearful or aggressive
Wow dude! I cannot thank you enough! this worked literally in seconds! Our 5-month-old miniature poodle was impossible to touch without having a nip on our fingers. We tried your method and it worked right away! No more bites! Cheers mate!
We've had our sweet golden Sheepadoodle for a few weeks...making progress on the potty training...she slept through the night in the crate for the first time last night with no fussing and no accidents (she and I got 6.5 hours of uninterrupted sleep!! Hallelujah!)...eager to get this biting improved! Glad to see this video pop up.
it's actually crazy how fast this worked and I only needed the sound, really. It's only day 2 and if my puppy accidentally nips me (I mean, she's only 3 months I can't even blame her) she KNOWS she messed up without me even having to say or do anything. THANK YOU SO MUCH !!
I'm an first time owner of Caucasian shepherd. By following your directions my Puppy really change his behaviour. Your advices are clear and easy to understand. Thank you for being here for us.
The active correction worked on my 9 week old puppy before I finished watching the video! Glad to have found something that works that doesn't hurt him.
Going to start this on our german shepherd we just got from the shelter. 1 year shelter return previous owner said he was too much. Thank you for showing everything with a dog not a puppy and not just treat oriented.
I've watched a few videos of other trainers and none of the techniques worked. But this is just wow🤯 my lab puppy is so calm and respectful towards me. Thank you🙌
This was just so helpful to see in real time! I have been so frustrated with my delightful but bitey 5 month Staffy pup. I have put this into practice today and can already see a difference. Thank you from Hawkes Bay, New Zealand
Perfect timing, Will. My 12-month Lab-Shepherd (who has suddenly has become very bold, cocky, over-confident, and inclined to challenge my directions) has also started grabbing at my trouser cuffs. When I tell her to sit she "talks back" at me and tries to grab my hands. I have been re-directing with "sit, stay" etc. But I see by your video it's better to re-direct with a toy.
My boxer mix is like that. He is grabbing anything he can, and he wants to play tug of war...he pulls back as strongly as he can. If we walk away he runs after us grabbing legs or feet. If we offer a toy, mostly he ignores it, as it's not that much fun. Probably my timing was never right with the correction. I want to play with him, as I feel that's when he is happiest. Now I just feel I try to avoid any kind of playing, as he will get so overexcited and demanding in the play that it always ends up in biting. I'm sure we did a lot of mistakes in the first week and he believes now that this is the whole game. That's how he gets us to interact for sure at 12 o clock at night.
@theMole I'm in the same boat.. I try the redirect and she ignores the toys and goes after my hands and feet still. So I try the sit command and give her treats (her regular food) and then she goes after where the food is. And it's non stop sit command til I'm tired cuz she won't play with the toys anymore 🤦🏻♀️
Brandon mcmillan is the most gentle, thorough and effective dog i've ever encountered. My friend and i love the dog show and never miss it. So many times we've shed a tear of happiness just seeing a dog's life changed forever when proper training is applied and they go on to live their lives the way they should. I have brandon's book ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxK8-VQWpYThx4IC6MiIvb6VS1ebTzzdxq in two formats. Not only the paperback version but also the kindle version to refer to when i don't have the paperback along with me. I have used his methods with my cavalier kc spaniel and turned a non-disciplined furbaby into a companion who has traveled thousands of miles with us across the country. He is a near perfect dog thanks to brandon's methods. I don't get one cent of kickback for recommending brandon but i do it because i love dogs. They deserve to be given a chance. Brandon's mission in life - to rescue dogs and place them in a forever, happy home - is very dear to my heart. I recommend his methods to anyone who has a dog - young or old. I've seen him take even old dogs and teach them. Brandon was an animal trainer before his current mission. His parents were animal trainers. His methods are the best i've ever found. Your furbaby will thank you for spending the money on this book. Don't hesitate - it is worth every cent.
Got two Labs I am watching foe my brother. One is over a year the other is just under. She is still in puppy mode. However my brother has had hip replacement surgery and a slew of problems So while he goes on vacation I watch his dogs because they love me however little miss has a jumping problem and a biting problem. As a rising vet assistant and someone who hopes to open a rescue. You're a hero for the small things you teach. I'm humble to learn dog tactics and redirects. Such a great system in officially testing this tomorrow. Admittedly they have a huge anxiety issue and poop and pee in the house. I'll be making a line up play list rescue training list to help teach me better ways to help them be a better dog and to help my brother so he can have two gorgeous and loving dogs I know they can be. Thank you for your vids
Great video. Unlike other channels who try and bolster their teachings with jargon yours are accessible, easily understood and pragmatic. Thanks for making them and please keep doing so.
I adopted a rescued heeler mix a few weeks ago. She's around 18-22 months old and she's a lovely dog other than the jumping and puppy biting. This demonstration is so helpful. I am going to do this with her. She's a smart dog so I'm sure she'll get the message. I've been enjoying your videos and they've been a great help so far!
How did it go with your heeler mix? We just adopted a heeler mix that's about 3 months old but she only thought this was play. I used both the passive and active corrections very sternly, but she still thought this was play. Curious if yours learned from it? I really like this method, I just don't know what's going wrong.
Thanks so much Will - this was amazing. We were at our wits end with the hand biting/jumping/nipping/herding behavior. No amount of high pitched yelping/walking away /correction sprays/bitter sprays on hands etc. worked. Active correction worked quickly and perfectly. To be honest it played out exactly like the video. Once again, thanks for this video & the instructions mate. I'm going to check out the others as well.
I have my canine lady for 3 weeks now... and she started to bite me, jump over me and I've started to be very anxious about her behaviour. Your video has helped me immediately. I am so grateful! Greeting from Poland - Seweryn and lady Luna :)
Worked with my 10 week old puppy instantly. This is my first video of yours and I will be watching them all from now on. Thank you very much for your help
Oh thank you so much!! It took 3 imes for my 4 month Rottweiler boxer mix to understand( I had to grab her collar) but it's so nice not to have her wicked sharp teeth blooding my arm finger cheek or ripping out my hair!!! So so glad I found your video. Thank you again for sharing!
Wow, this really works, I’ve tried unsuccessfully other ways of stopping my 6 mth old Labrador from biting. It took minutes to successfully use this method. Obviously I shall keep rewarding her good behaviour. Thank you.
Best advice on nipping I've found on the internet, and I've been searching! Great context and explanation of what's going on, this quick correction does the trick, and my 12-week puppy responded instantly. Now he is slowly forgetting this behavior.
Oh my, just done this with our 15week bitey cockapoo. Lots of praise when he was being good. Different dog! We're going to keep doing it, but I feel positive that he understands this!💞
Honestly, thanks for the reminder that I don't want to go through this again. I just finally accepted that I can't afford to have the breed of dog that I want and was feeling bad about it. Remembering how much I hate puppy biting and hyper disrespectful behavior like the dog in the video makes me feel better. Call it sour grapes. But if I can't have the dog anyway, I might as well remember how horrible puppyhood sometimes is.
Hey! I love that you like to volunteer with dogs. I have a terrier named Rocket who is my best friend. What are your thoughts on kill shelters for dogs?
Great advice on real straight forward training. It’s only been about two hours but it’s like having a different dog. The passive method just didn’t seem to have much affect on him but the active method stopped the biting in its tracks after only two corrections. I’m hopeful in it continuing to change his behavior and make playing with him more enjoyable.
Yes I tried the passive method that I saw in another video which was helping but it's harder to me because timing is important and grabbing a collar takes me too much time
I dont normally comment on youtube videos but i just had to on this one. We just got a cockapoo and he was extremely bitey and nothing seemed to stop him except him having to have a time out. Came across this video used the active correction on our puppy and it really has worked wonders!! Couldnt believe it!! Thank you so much!! You're awesome!
Thank you so much, Will 🙏🏻 River is 9 1/2 weeks and I’ve only had to do your biting correction drill once (active correction) and received instantaneous and enduring results. She’s not tried to mouth me or my son since and has become very respectful of personal space ❤ I know that this is going to remain ongoing especially as teething progresses but the transformation has been astounding
Glad to hear such positive results, I've just got a new 9wk old pup and she has needles not teeth! I've been yelping to let her know it hurts, but this video is my next test.
You make it look so easy!! We just adopted this exact pooch (behaviorally speaking). She’s adorable but loves to nibble and bite at everyone. Thank you for the instruction. I will use it!! And oh the hammer…I must purchase this. 🧐
Thank you so much. My puppy is already improving . Springador with a lot of energy . She thinks my chihuahuas are pups, they are not, and do not appreciate her standing on them, behaviour changed in seconds. Gun dog training going perfectly for husband, but I'm at home all day with her so was struggling a bit. Now now my behaviour is clear x
So nice to see real, helpful, truthful comments. I have just recently rehomed a gsd same age. Just found this guys channel from recommendation list after watching American Cannine Educator Tom Davis. I wish you and your gsd well on your journey together 👍Peace
Seems more for younger dogs that are over excited to me but awesome advice. 30 year dog trainer here. We teach Kisses for redirection and praise them, well also using a YELP! sound to startle. Whole puppy nipping stems from lack of bite inhabitation. The puppy knowing not to bite or power of bite. Singleton pups/small litters or even taking the puppy away from the littler to early all attribute to puppy nipping. Great tips man love your vids!
You make it look so easy! Have been coping your technique on heel training. Thank you so much, it is going well except he gets so excited when going out for walks he is jumping and biting for the lead. He likes to carry it in his mouth but plays tug of war with me. Have changed to chain lead but he still does it. Walking back he will walk to heel really well.
I’ve been trying to get my puppy to stop biting for the last few days and nothing worked. I watched so many videos and it was all in vain. I was about to give up and then UA-cam recommended me this video. Its a life saver. I’m having a puppy for the first time and this active method works like magic. It’s a brand new puppy 🥺🥰😍Thank you so much!🙏🏻

I'm sorry but this is BY far the best video I have watched so far on preventing puppy biting. I'm picking my german shepherd puppy up on Monday and I'm a bit worried about his training and your videos are definitely the most straightforward

This was so helpful in an incredibly short amount of time! Thank you so much. Only been a few days off doing this consistently and our rescue is no longer mouthing/biting! Will continue, this method really works!
We have just got a Golden Retriever puppy, she is nearly 10 weeks. She is poor sighted so hand commands are useless. She is bitey when over stimulated or tired. I practiced the Passive correction while watching your video and it worked by the 2nd time. Awesome stuff. Thank you.

Thank you for actually doing a video on puppy biting with a bigger dog. My dog is 8 months and 23kg, all of the videos I've seen so far are baby puppies that are tiny. I'll see how these techniques go.
Great video! My girls really want a golden retriever puppy. I’ve been researching the breed a ton. I am afraid of the puppy biting stage because I have a lot of health issues and I don’t want to get injured. This video is super helpful and giving me some confidence that I’d be able to handle a pup with good training.
I hope you decide to get a golden, they will be your best friend if you train them correctly!!! Such a lovely breed. This worked incredibly well on my puppy, I hope it will for yours too x

You're absolutely great I did the training with my 3-month-old Staffy. And honestly it worked thank you so much may I ask what is the best treat for training your pup please get back to me thank you so much
I hissed at my cat when she chomped into my hand. She’s 8 but she’s been doing the puppy nipping all this time. Took only one hiss to make her stop, exactly as she was biting, she looked up, she was contrite, and now I can see her look at me to bit me, but she doesn’t. Such a relief. I don’t know why they respond with biting but I think it’s over now. Thank you.
I wish this worked with mine. Not sure what else to do. He continues to bite and when I grab the collar he spins his head around like the exorcist and still gets you.
Great advice for puppies. I always did similar stuff. I can attest to it being very effective with varying intensity. Like you said, timing is everything. You have to correct immediately. The worst thing is to correct too late and then the dog will get nervous and confused, not knowing what is being corrected. You are the best. A lot of dogs will be better because of you. The thing I don't know how to fix is when the dog is older and was never fixed as a puppy and the biting is much too painful and can be dangerous with certain dogs. Do you have a video for adults that are much more aggressive, not attacking, but very hard to control.
WOW!!!!!! This is amazing! I stopped my Komondor puppy from nibbling in seconds, just like in the video. The best part is they still love me (yes I have two of them) and have better behaviour. Thank you so much.
I love this. Only thing I've done differently is to not correct at the leas sign of mouthing, only when they use their mouth any other way than super gently. I like it better because they learn exactly what hurts and how to be gentle with their mouths at all time. For dogs with big wide and strong mouths it seems safer in the long run. It's ok to use your mouth on occasion when that's all you got instead of hands but never with pressure or nipping. Although this is a big puppy, better to start early. With tiny puppies yelping when mouth gets anything but gentle usually suffices as both correction and surprize. Puppies teach each other that way too. Love your channel.

@@alegatorale1 How is it going for you? My 9 week golden doesn’t listen to either of these, i don’t know if maybe my timing is off or i’m not stern enough. He looks quite aggressive when he does bite, a different level to the dog in the video!

@@ltandkholbrook9555 so the sound and the touch for my puppy made her worse somehow, lmao. so I got creative and now she responds well to the snap of my fingers if she’s biting but not acting crazy and a small clap of my hands if she’s in her devil witching hour mood and out of her mind and/or overtired. She’s so young so maybe the touch and sound from the video just wasn’t working for her, who knows.
I’m very thankful to find your channel and I’m hoping to get some answers about about our 22 month old female rottie. We rescued her 6 months ago and I’ve been working on training her but the one thing I cannot change is her bitting. It’s not puppy mouthing but it’s a quick reaction when hands go near her when we’re playing or correcting. She has bit all of us including our 7 year old boy. This dog is smart and sweet and I’m at a loss on how to stop this behavior.
I got pitbull/bandog puppy 2 weeks ago and he can be quite the biter. He's 10 weeks old and I've let him get away with it until now as potty training and bonding with the little guy was my priority. But now it's time to address the biting. Thanks for the video, I really love your content.
i tried this on my puppy too soon i think, now i'm trying to be firm but soft immediately....i was too tired in the beginning, she's 12 weeks now, she gets sassy when corrected, i'm really working to praise her when she's calm and settled, and also when her choice is to not bite, hoping i haven't messed her up...i'm really worn out
If the puppy is 12 weeks, do not give up. Anywhere between the ages of 3 months to 5 months, puppies can be a handful. Honestly, at any age, they can be a handful. Just don't give up.
Yeah, don't give up ! It is exhausting, I regretted my decision to adopt my dog many times and cried a lot I'm not gonna lie. But things do get better - it will not take you 10 seconds as shown in this video however - I started breathing again around its 5th month when I saw that all the work was coming together. My dog do not like "physical" correction even minor like grabbing him by the collar would make him sassy ^^ positive reinforcement, not giving him attention when being bad, putting him in another room when this didn't work, make him learn new things helped us bond with him and stopped the undesired behaviours. Also: not hesitate to ask help from professionals close to your area and outside of UA-cam. (Gosh that was a long comment but I wish someone told me that 5 months ago).
Thank you Will. I do not know how our rescue was treated before we got her but grabbing her collar only makes her want to bite that hand more. She is very defiant about the collar grabbing - so we cannot do that. The rest we will try. She is only 1-1/2 years old - very smart for what she wants.
Wow just tried and she calmed down instantly. Nothing I tried before worked. I have two young dogs and they get so rough when they play. I’ve been trying to tone it down before they get too aggressive. Ty
Great advise as usual. Love to watch your training methods. I would really like to see a training method for a particular dog breed which is slightly different from other dog breeds. The Basenji is considered as very hard to train and can be one of the most destructive when it comes to chewing and biting. In several surveys the basenji is listed as the second to last when it comes to obedience/training. Therefore I really think that you should dedicate a training method when it comes to this unique and different dog breed.
Look at his body language when he corrects for the first time. Massive difference than when in play and dogs/puppies recognize this. The sound and tap amplify this posture! Love it!

I didn’t need this video as my 7 month old lab is pretty good now, but I watched out of curiosity. I wish I had found this channel sooner, as these tips would definitely have helped us teach him more efficiently! Great work 👏
Will, thank you for this video! We have a 2 month old puppy at home - and he was biting us all the time. Your technique works like a charm! The problem has been solved!
Great video as always. I've a question though. When I do the active and/or passive correction to my 4 month old, it ramps him up more. How can I effectively deal with that? Is this just a defiant teenager thing that I just have to fight through with consistency? Or have you any other suggestions? Thanks for your time.
My 3 month old dogs it too I just ignore it and don’t react and I say calm (their name) a few times in a light voice holding them and then once they are calm I say good boy and then eventually they won’t be as defiant
My 12 week old pups biting has gotten out of control! I've tried the grab and he attacks my hand! Tried to do barrel rolls! And just does not settle. He even starts to snarl more. Makes me feel like it's making him more aggressive!
Been trying this but if we put our hands anywhere near our dog (to touch or collar) she is then biting the hand. She even anticipates the hand coming and seems to think it's a part of the game. We switched to a foot touch, same issue. Any suggestions?
I’m having the same issue with my 8 month old puppy. Not sure if I’m not being stern enough or this method just doesn’t work for him, did you get your dog to stop doing that? If so how?
I started this technique with my 8 week old female pup a few days ago, it worked amazingly well for a few days. She now sees the correction as a challenge and will come at us biting even harder. Anyway to stop this? She will bypass toys to go for your arms or anywhere on your body she can get her teeth into!
Hey! I love that you like to volunteer with dogs. I have a terrier named Rocket who is my best friend. What are your thoughts on kill shelters for dogs?
My dog just gets more excited when I correct him like this. Both active and passive. He bites MORE. I am being calm and assertive, but not yelling, I am not yanking him or pushing him, I am using good timing. I am not sure what is wrong.
This is exactly what's happening with my puppy. I tried both the active and passive techniques but she thinks both our play, even when I'm very stern. Curious if anyone has advice?
@@vidhoard I will say that I tried another "training session" with my pup using this technique yesterday, and even though it seemed like it didn't worked because she was still nipping and getting excited, today she's MUCH better about biting. It hasn't gone away entirely, but she's actually starting to respond when I do the correction. Maybe our dogs just don't respond as quickly, but it seems like she'll get there if I keep doing it. I'll post an update if it's successful!
We just rescued a cute little boy and I am sure he is going to be a big boy once he is fully grown, however he does exactly what this video demonstrates with my my grandsons. Great advice and will be using this to train our little 3 month old. Thanks Will.

YES! We love hearing our videos are helping ❤

@@willathertoncaninetraining I just bought a boarder collie, Thank you for this it is a great video.
*mix/mutt. Not a breed.
I tried this and also grab them and say ouched found the bop on the nose stop it permanently
I just tried it and it works 😂 thank youuuu thank you 🙏
Our 8 week old siberian husky responds agressivley and growls and snaps when we correct him.
@@fischecx5020 same with our little puppy. she gets more hyper 😭😭
I think my timing is off so I will have to try this. I think he thinks, I bite then sit then get treat.
I've just done this with my dog and I can't believe how quick he picked up on it. Thank you very much this has helped a lot
He's such a great teacher mentioning how thr touch to the dogs side should be. He clearly loves dogs 😆
it's actually crazy how fast this worked and I only needed the sound, really. It's only day 2 and if my puppy accidentally nips me (I mean, she's only 3 months I can't even blame her) she KNOWS she messed up without me even having to say or do anything. THANK YOU SO MUCH !!
My puppy started digging as I was watching this video. I tried this technique while watching and it worked right away!
I got a new puppy a week ago and this is super helpful, thank you! 🐶
How is your pup now? I am having a hard time getting mine to settle down as he only gets more bitey when I hold him
Love how clearly you describe and explain the process, then carry it out so we can see it. Great teaching techniques.
omg it really works. I am sure I must be consistent but it immediately got his attention and he stopped. thank you
Perfect timing, Will.
Yes, you’re describing my 11 week old Golden. It’s maddening.
"Turn ups" not cuffs.
Your dog does not "suddenly become" like that, its called puberty lol
However my brother has had hip replacement surgery and a slew of problems
So while he goes on vacation I watch his dogs because they love me however little miss has a jumping problem and a biting problem.
I have been recommending this to everyone. Works an absolute treat. Will, you are a diamond!
Works like a charm. We have a 13week old GSD that’s very mouthy! This worked in less then a day! Cheers!
With our dog I tried everything, when I say everything I mean EVERYTHING, this is the only method that has helped up till now.
I know it's only early days but so far, massive transformation in literally 30mins. So glad I found this video.
Same
Yes I tried the passive method that I saw in another video which was helping but it's harder to me because timing is important and grabbing a collar takes me too much time
How's your dog now?
Nice
I applied this technique to my 6 month old Cane Corso and whoa! it worked!! You have another sub sir and thank you!!!
Thanks for this, the training is clear and easy to follow, it worked in a day with my 15 week old GSD
Impulse control training would help when this.
I’ve been trying to get my puppy to stop biting for the last few days and nothing worked. I watched so many videos and it was all in vain. I was about to give up and then UA-cam recommended me this video. Its a life saver. I’m having a puppy for the first time and this active method works like magic.

Holy moly!!! Literally mins into doing this with my 9week old pup and it's been the best 24 hours! Thank you!
So good to hear Renee!

Mine gets angry😩
Might help to just disengage in playing all together the moment they bite. Just get up with a firm No and turn away from em and leave
AND I GOT A GOD DAMN YORKIE!!! 🤣🤣🤣 IT JUMPS TOO!!! MY KNEES HURT!!! ESCALATION UP!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Wow, This worked like a charm, I found that the active method works better than the passive method. Both methods work just depends on the dog.

Looking forward to giving this a go with my 2 10 week old pups and watching more of your videos for other training advice
It is amazing how quickly this technique works. Only took me an hour. Thank you for your help.
Excellent tip Will! This will be added to my 3 1/2 month old pitbull shar pei's training. Thanks and, shout out from Boston :)
Thank you Will. I do not know how our rescue was treated before we got her but grabbing her collar only makes her want to bite that hand more. She is very defiant about the collar grabbing - so we cannot do that. The rest we will try. She is only 1-1/2 years old - very smart for what she wants.
Brilliant advice and teaching, thank you so much ☺️
Wow just tried and she calmed down instantly.
Basenji my future dream dog so yes be interesting
Look at his body language when he corrects for the first time. Massive difference than when in play and dogs/puppies recognize this. The sound and tap amplify this posture! Love it!
Hey! I love that you like to volunteer with dogs. I have a terrier named Rocket who is my best friend. What are your thoughts on kill shelters for dogs?
Same, I have a basset puppy and no matter what I try he seems to get more agitated.
Ditto here with my Great Pyr.
My 3 month old dogs it too I just ignore it and don’t react and I say calm (their name) a few times in a light voice holding them and then once they are calm I say good boy and then eventually they won’t be as defiant
They are just scared and confused because they think we are mad or upset at them so they will react
My 12 week old pups biting has gotten out of control! I've tried the grab and he attacks my hand! Tried to do barrel rolls! And just does not settle. He even starts to snarl more. Makes me feel like it's making him more aggressive!
Thank you for explaining things properly unlike Cesar Millan ever will
Been trying this but if we put our hands anywhere near our dog (to touch or collar) she is then biting the hand.
If so how?
UA-cam has a zillion videos about dog training and correct. Yours tops them all by miles!
When I hold the collar the my puppy just tried to bite more.
Mine too
Then correct it..... over and over again.
@@mindthehomedesign right?? No one seems to have this issue except us I guess!
@@mindthehomedesign good to know! I will have to keep this in mind! Do let me know if it works!
I got a Boerboel puppy today and the active correction didn’t work - I did the same thing but with a flat hand - worked like a charm
We just rescued a cute little boy and I am sure he is going to be a big boy once he is fully grown, however he does exactly what this video demonstrates with my my grandsons. Great advice and will be using this to train our little 3 month old. Thanks Will.
