Gilly, please don’t let the naysayers dull your shine. So many of us really love and appreciate all that you do. Btw, the vases and paintings were stunning!
Aren't people horrible jealously is a curse I feel sorry for these kind of people. You and I know how lovely Gilly worrk is an all the time and money she puts into it blow them. Jonina
I put canvas under rack. Put glass on top of rack. Pour over glass, paint goes through rack onto canvas. Pick up rack with glass on it and move away from canvas. Don’t have to touch the wet glass at all. You have canvas with paint to play with.
Saw another artist put vase over a paper cup, then after the paint was poured just picked up by the paper cup and moved the whole thing off without incident.
Gilly, I love tribal art! Your results are awesome and so very classy too. Calling this tribal art is only a compliment to its name. Hope to see lots more. Please show us Bendy, Benson, and Rosy sometimes. Rosy was so little last time we saw her. IMO, they've been an enjoyable part of your delightful channel.
I think they're beautiful and dont worry about those negative comments about your choice of words. I have American Indian blood and I'm not offended. Love the idea of canvas under your painting jars. You can also put down a plastic sheet, let the paint run on and then dry. People call these paint skins then use them to make jewelry pendants. Cut up to fit the size of you bezel...just another idea to save paint. Love you pours. Keep it up.
I love your tribal work.. you may call your art anything that makes YOU happy.. screw the negative comments... life's short, so say and do what makes you you!!
I've done a few vases for Christmas. They turned out well.Gilly I have learned alot from your videos. The colors you chose are beautiful. Wow pouring them on top of canveses or boards saves paint 🎨. Gives you another gift to go with .
Oh! Gilly! Sod the negative arseholes! Some people are just nasty by nature! You're a beautiful & highly talented person! I appreciate the time you give to share your creations, the education & inspiration! You carry on being wonderful YOU!
Absolutely stunning!!! Remember there are always the crabby people who always are negative. You are a wonderful teacher, and extremely talented! Carry on love! YOU ROCK!!!
Oh my gosh these are so beautiful! A few years ago (pre covid) I was home visiting my family in the US and a few of the ladies in the family went to a paint and sip (you bring a bottle of wine and spend the evening painting). We did a couple of canvas pours and I fell in love with it. I have not tried doing it since getting back to Scotland and you have inspired me to give it a go. I am lucky to travel all over the world, even to Australia. When you poured onto the first of the 2 glasses, with the turquoise and gold, at the start it reminded me of a friendly moray wrasse I met in the Great Barrier Reef. The final result you ended up with was stunning! Like you I would put plants in them, succulents or cacti would both work well and look stunning. I wonder, when I did the paint and sip, the instructor used the heater to make “cells”. Would that work on glass, do you think or is that really only for canvas? I really loved the look. I have just subscribed after watching this first video…I have enjoyed watching you work. It is 4am here, Hubby is asleep, so watched with closed captions on but will watch again tomorrow with the sound on and start ordering some supplies. I have not been one to paint, I do not have an artistic bone in my body. I make jewellery, knit, crochet, quilt, embroider, tat, etc which are all great skills and creative, but not artistic like painting and drawing, but the paint pours give me inspiration that maybe I can create with paint to make something beautiful, unusual and unique for our new home. Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring! And as for those folks telling you, not to do this or that…well, I usually give them the two finger salute that the Aussies and Brits use that Americans often mistake for a peace sign😉 You do you, be who you are and those who have an issue with it can go whistle elsewhere. Be happy,m stay safe and carry on creating your beautiful work! Best Wishes and deep gratitude from Scotland 💙
From 'wowsers trousers' to 'hex keks' -- completely spellbinding! Gorgeous outcome - there's a planetary feel to the three together. Thank you once again, Gilly.
You know what who cares what these people say in these comments, this is the artwork that you are sharing with us, shame on anyone that says anything negative about your beautiful artwork. Art is subjective, I think you do a lovely job. However, I would not have known what to do after I took off the glass. I know how to take the glass off, I just wouldn't have known what to do with the residue left on top of the glass. That's my only question. I thank you for sharing your artwork, you are very creative and brave to put your work out for others to critique some are just mean
Sometimes criticism is good, it helps us learn and improve. As a beginner I appreciate the most basic of instructions which may be irrelevant and unimportant to say, but not everyone who views are experts. I do enjoy your videos.
How lovely! I can't wait to give your technique a try! I've seen several artists put freezer paper or silicone mats underneath to catch the paint. Then they are able to save the paint skins and apply them to other create other items such as jewelry.
If you only want skins, you can also collect that paint on wax /parchment paper, works for resin too. Lovely vases, so pretty! The very first video I watched of a paint pour ever, was you pouring over a glass vase. Beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful definitely going to try this , the colours are amazing .Please don’t let people put you down , you do great work . Love watching you 😊🇬🇧❤️
Those are lovely! You could use a piece of clear vinyl plastic underneath the pour and let the dripping dry on that. Then pull off the dried paint and make a collage out of the dried pieces either on a canvas or maybe a wooden bracelet.
THANK YOU GILLY! I have some color shift paints and some really expensive metallics. Im so stingy with my use of expensive paints & unfortunately the standard pours I've used them for haven't turned out. That's a BAD feeling as I'm sure you all can relate to. THIS however might be the ticket for those paints. I'm gonna try it anyway. We'll see.....thanks again Gilly! 😁 Yvette in NC USA
Loved loved loved watching you…. I wouldn’t worry so much about the paint waste critics. Can’t please them all. Beautiful work & love your little British sayings. Thank you.
Love the vases! Also really like your comment about critics - it’s so much easier to criticize than do. You know how to create beautiful art. Those “know it alls” probably couldn’t paint a dot. No one forces them to watch your incredibly helpful videos, if they don’t approve, they should make their own. Thank you, I appreciate your helpful videos!
I enjoyed it very much Gilly. Ignore the negative people. There are plenty of other artists on UA-cam to watch if they don’t want to watch what you are doing. I like watching versatility. Its more interesting. Thank you for continuing on.
The canvases when you took the cups off looks like 70s pop band haircuts. Looked so cool 😎 The barking made me jump had earpods in lol 😆 The cups look amazing Gilly 👍🏻😍😀💖XXXX
Blimey, somebody was having a go this evening, never mind, I thought the goblets were great also the two canvases too a lovely colour combination and I look forward to seeing the gold fish bowl and the tall pasta jar when you do them xxxxx
Always get the no all but do nothings telling us how to do things 😬😬🤷♀️🤷♀️ can you imagine what they must be like to live with, a nightmare I’m thinking 🤔 Thank you so Barbara 🥰
I just got to watch this. I've been under the weather for the past 2 weeks. I just wanted to tell you I love your vases! I will have to try this. I love everything you do! Thanks for sharing ❤
You can glue beads and feathers on a piece of twine or whatever and tie that around the top of the vase for the authentic native American vibe you are looking for. BEAUTIFUL WORK!
Gilly, love your glass ware🤩 The colours you used turned out gorgeous ❤ Extra large glass bowl is so stunning, your colours and the way you poured out beautifully. Love your ideas, the smaller ones would be marvellous with the gravel & dirt and a lovely cactus 💖💕🌺🌸🌼☘️☘️
Beautiful!!! I’ve used spray paint cans wrapped with Saran Wrap as a base when pouring over vases. It leaves more room at the bottom to grab onto for moving :)
Gilly, please don’t let the naysayers dull your shine. So many of us really love and appreciate all that you do. Btw, the vases and paintings were stunning!
I agree 💯

Gilly, I love tribal art! Your results are awesome and so very classy too. Calling this tribal art is only a compliment to its name. Hope to see lots more.
