Today I used the mont marte pre made paints to pour over my vase and bling it up as shown in my video, hopefully you enjoy 😉
Acrylic pouring: Fluid art
My pouring medium used for my usual work is a pre mix of 70% “Mont marte clear craft glue and 30% warm water, if in the USA Elmer’s glue all works well (most pva glues can be made up with same ratios to make a pouring medium), I add my pouring medium to my paint slowly until I achieve the consistency of pouring cream, approximately 50/50 more pm if needed, not all paint brands go well with this pouring medium, so just test out.
paint brands mostly used are the Mont marte studio acrylics, dimensions, or pouring paints, Boom Gel stain.
I Certainly explore different brands and mediums, it’s all part of the learning process.
When iv mixed my paints I add 2-4 drops maximum of Helmar silicone, also Australian made, I stir in well.
I always like to mix up my paints and add silicone the day before I’m going to paint, and cover with a damp cloth, as I have found I have much better results.

You should try using a canvas under your vase so your utilizing all the paint and you can get some cool patterns

I agree, the pours are beautiful but I cringe about all the extra paint that drains off.

I loved the base right after it was painted. The jewels and glitter cheapen it to my eye.

I really like the way that the colours on the vase differed on each side. That way you can decide to show a different side of the vase depending on where you want to put it. You probably couldn't replicate that again no matter how much you tried but i really like that. Well done. Can't wait to see what more you have in store for us. Take care and stay well. Shirley. X

This was a very fun video to watch! The vase looks spectacular! Blinging it up was a great idea! I hope the people you give gift to at Christmas don't watch your videos!! My hubby built me a vase holder to paint my vases. A wood square base, drilled a hole in the center and glued in a large dowel long enough so the vase does not rest on the base when painting it! You gave me good ideas today! Take care!!

Extremely pretty
Oh Gilly, this is good. I have so many glass vases around my house in cupboards. Now I know exactly what to do with them. Christmas presents! Perfect. I'm really lucky that a local shop which started life as a $2 shop sort of changed over the years and now sells cheaper art and craft supplies instead. They have the full range of Mont Marte in there plus so much more. I'm going to give their premixed range a go now on some vases. Nothing is safe in my house right now either!
