@@kevinveracruz9357 not correct ... Hendrix strings were traditional, low e toward the head, high e string toward the feet. Albert King did play reversed, however.
Left handed instruments weren’t as easy to find in Hawai’i as it may be today. A lot of the left handed musicians had to adapt and learn to play upside down like this. Kinda funny though because if you hand them a standard left handed instrument, they won’t know how to play it haha. Jack Ofoia (the one in the video) is an extremely talented musician. He plays guitar, ukulele, and bass this way and VERY well.

In 2017, I happen to watch this exact video on my way home from Hawaii on Hawaiian airlines. Bored with the movies, I decided to listen to Hawaiian music. This is so beautiful and excellent sound. I am totally hooked with this song. I downloaded the guitar codes and almost every day, I listened to it and practice the guitar. Unfortunately, no one tells us the meanings of the lyrics word by word. ...Five years have passed. I just got back from Hawaii to attend my daughter's wedding ceremony! During the lunch time there were Hawaiian guitalists singing.. Sunddenly I heard they were singging in Hawaii language. So, I quickly searched Le ho'oheno lyrics,,,then I asked the guys if I could sing with them for the attraction. I enjoyed so much for this opportunity. I need to brush up my voice and guitar...

That dudes left handed playing it upside down. Most poor kids that wanted to play music but left handed had to play it like that.
You should look up songs by Kahau'anu Lake Trio. He was left handed as well, and played his 'ukulele upside down, but tuned the same way as a regular 'uke, thereby the strumming and sounds were different but so pleasing.

I am a token haole in a Hawaiian band for the last 10 years. This is this song that that affected me the most over the years, makes me cry, not sure why. So beautiful.
Did anyone see the guy playing the black guitar? Notice the orientation of the strings and can play like a bolero tune close to the 12th fret? Wow-that's skill because its against the convention. But the music is soothing.

I don't have a clue what this song is saying, but I must admit I am touched by these guys. I've never heard someone sing at different levels of notes (if that even means something).
Can somebody please help me? a few years ago I heard a song on the radio, it was so beautiful but no one I ask seen to have heard it. I don't know the title, but I remember part of the lyrics of that song. it was: Maui smells so good in my dreams, I hear her haunting call......thats all I remember.
