I was stationed in Hawaii and one of my best friends was a local guy, who invited me to family events and they made me feel at home while being so far from mine. My dad told them that if they played Hawaiian music they would become popular among the locals...the rest is history. They did become famous years later. I will never forget that. That memory is stuck in my mind forever.
