Death Metal band develops a slightly distinctive sound...
Death Metal fans: new subgenre invented!
If you listen to death metal they are quite distinctive.
@@vinny-zebu I do. Morbid Angel sounds quite different from Obituary, but there's no reason to call one "fast demonic death metal" and the other "hellhammerish groove death metal"
@@dr.juerdotitsgo5119 I divide metal into 2 big subgenres first: What i like and what i don't like. Then there's two more: "Fast" and "Not that fast", and then two final ones. "Uplifting/energetic" and "sad." The end.
way too true
@@ProbablyNotAChicken Me in 3:Death,thrash and death-thrash!
Aw those good old In-Flames days.. Colony, Clayman, Reroute to remain.. Price- and timeless
Yes Moonshield is like coming home.
@@BigMuff75 Perfectly said.
Listen to Moonshield, Jester's Dance or Lord Hypnos then listen to one of their latest songs...the fall from grace vibe is real.
Lunar strain is still my goto.
Reroute to remain
Banger certified
Good evening and thanks for joining me for some Death Metal ! My facebook account got hacked, so someone else is posting great videos , thats NOT me !
Hacked would be a good title for a death metal song (sorry for the joke 🙈)
ROCK n Roll Baby🎉😂
WHERE IS SPLATTER DEATH METAL?!
@@srj_br Gore too...
Hack the world 😂
Not so sure I would consider Florida, Sweden, or Satanic Death Metal different subgenres. They're scenes, or movements for sure. But I don't know enough to be completely certain.
Great video, regardless
That and Suffocation being slam would be a few of my nitpicks but overall a solid video showcasing the different sounds of the genre.
Florida was just its own Death Metal scene back in the day. Swedish Death had the same thing going that I'd say just adds a more melodic approach on top. Satanic is the flavor text :P
idk the florida/usa death metal bands did have a different sound than the european death metal bands
I would agree, but I wasn't looking at the screen when Dismember came up, and I instantly knew what scene it was - and I've never listened to Dismember before. The bands in that scene have a very distinct sound that really separates them from other death metal scenes (the buzzsaw sound), that you could conceivably class them as their own genre.
Okay, so after a little consideration, I've decided to agree with the statement that Swedish Death Metal is distinct enough to make it its own subgenre, different from Florida/Old School/American, whatever. This, however, makes me think of a question: if a band from outside of Sweden starts playing in the same style as Entombed, Dismember, would they be Swedish Death, or would it be more accurate to call them Swedish-inspired?
5:55 Legendary riff 🤘😎🤘
He didn't just pick any slam riff, picked THE slam riff
Pantera is calling
@@mali_pleonazmicpantera lame
@@mali_pleonazmic Pantera ain't death metal son 🧠🪚👹🩸🤘🏻💀🫴🏻🍲😋
@@mali_pleonazmicpretty sure if there's a Pantera riff sounding like this somewhere, they borrowed it from Suffocation. Not a secret that Anselmo was a big Suffo fan.
I appreciate the hundreds/thousands of hours you spend learning all the sickest riffs. You're awesome man.
So happy to see Fear Factory on this one. “Soul of a New Machine” is such a brutal album, so many crushers on there, so unique and ahead of its time 🤘🤘
Shame that they didn't go with that direction!
@@Djare915If fear factory continued with the industrial death metal/grindcore sound they would be one of my favorite bands, so sad that it only lasted 1 album before they went the groove/nu direction
It’s nice to see Old School Death Metal guys showing love for Mitch Lucker era Suicide Silence.
Death Metal elitists constantly shit on them despite their first two albums fitting right in with bands like Suffocation & Cattle decapitation all the while doing their own thing on both of those albums.
💨💩
Too bad it was played on a 6 string in this vid, I feel like the whole point of that opening track is that it’s tuned low on a 7 string, that’s why the riff is simple
Facts suicide silence can get brutal as hell, I think it’s mostly the cultural divide that throws ppl off, like crowdkilling and ear guages n breakdowns and warped tour. I love all that shit but I think it’s what puts ppl off about deathcore, even though it can actually be rly similar to other slamming and brutal death bands
I've been recently listening to them a little more and deathcore is pretty cool actually, even if it is not my favorite genre. SS is certainly a great band and they can be heavy as hell.
They have some decent tracks, but they frustrate the hell out of me with those breakdowns, I want a song to be fast and brutal throughout.
I didnt even know there were 20. But now it makes sense
Jajaj mandó fruta con algunos, un capo
there is 200
Lord of The Riffs: Return of The King \m/
I was just thinking, "Why doesn't TheSuffocater appear on my feed lately?" But here you are, releasing another great video, thanks dude!
Protector is such an amazing band. A shedding of skin is a killer album.
Yep. A shame that they were on a small or lazy label instead of Nuclear Blast, Noise or Century Media.
I invented something I like to call "freeform industrial death metal" and play it in my spare room/studio, mainly because I hate my neighbors. Cacophonous noise with speakers at 11 on a 10-string bass tuned low enough to feel more than hear at times. Dogs half a mile away start whining when I tune up.
Dude you're everything people hate about metalheads lol. Wow you're so cool for hating people and animals, badass bro
@@Iceman-1919 Wow, you're so cool being too stupid to take a joke, even though you are one. Go whine elsewhere, poor little stooge of a human
@@Iceman-1919That's a bit of contrivance you're extracting there, mate. Don't be bitter. Maybe *you* are "everything people hate about metalheads" 😶
Heavy metal is the musical genre that should have the most subgenres, and death is no exception. You are an excellent musician and exponent
Indeed, metal and electronic music are both full of subgenres
Heavy metal is not a genre. It's an umbrella term for many different genres of music. Death metal, power metal and djent are more different from each other than rock is from blues and pop.
Septic flesh riff was amazing man!
Ahhh , the Jester race ! , such a great album ! 😎🤟
Deathcore was the gateway genre for me with bands like Suicide Silence and Job For A Cowboy who eventually got me into OSDM bands like Death and Autopsy as well as genres like Tech Death and Prog Death. Skinless got me into Brutal Death and Arsis, Dark Tranquility and Dethklok into Melo Death. Then there's Exhumed for Goregind/Deathgrind. Man what a journey these past 15 years have been with this insane extreme genre of music.
Man you would have loved the 80s of Bay Area Cali death metal
Perfect selections as always. Nice to see "Fleshless" be the Dismember pick, that's such a great album.
Yep. Their best one if you ask me.
Old school is my preference
Same
Terrific! Always enjoy watching you play. Actually, these songs bring back alot of good memories for me. Your playing and replication of various metal tones are flawless! Thanks, Suffocater.😺
Perfect video. Hearing you play Disharmonic Orchestra made my morning.
love it, classics of course and you never fail to introduce me to new bands. thank you Thesuffocater !!!!! keep on shredding on
Pushed like 7 sec into the video. They are ALWAYS top tier. This did not disappoint. 🖤🤟
...even just halfway😂
I'm a simple man as well. I hear Death, I click like. Simple as.
Amazing stuff. Always cool to have some new greatest riffs.
The In Flames part hit hard, it's like eating your grandma's crumble cake after a very long time of cake absence
Couple other ones, Dissonant DM (such as gorguts, artificial brain, ulcerate), Caverndeath (incantation, disma, cavurn), and as some would call “ultra” brutal death metal (brodequin, enmity, mindly rotten)
Cool video
Great video as always. Feels good to have your own subgenre, love from sweden.
Great songs here. Special mention for Protector, very cool to include them. Great job man, you can play ANYTHING!
Wow Feared!! One of my favorite bands. Great video 🤘
Great video. Nile, Belphegor, Morbid Angel, and Necrophagist all on one list. Brilliant. 🤘🏻
niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. love watching your vids, i think all of us enjoy waiting to find out which tracks you chose XD. Nile was aces!
What a great band Morbus Chron was, bro. It's a good idea to have included it in your video.
Cheers!
Top-notch playing and song selection. As always \m/
Thanks for the video, very entertaining! Morbid Angel 🤟🎸
Wie immer geil. Schöne Klassiker dabei. Großartig 🤘
I love these videos! Plus there are always a couple of bands I had never heard of! So thanks!
Only heard of half of the bands listed. I have a swell evening ahead of me. Thanks for the effort in puttn these videos together. 🤘
Furor Incarnatus on there prooves that you're a man of culture ^^
Those vids are not only really entertaining, they're also great to show to someone who has no clue where the differences are, great job as always!
_(I'll never get the aux access back)_
As usual a very tasty selection and great performance.
Amazing job bro, thanks so much
Quality playing! You never fail to amaze me with your ability.
Thats not 20 subs... maybe 10
It’s sound very different between them thank you for this compilation 🤘
Nice to include Disharmonic Orchestra!! Classic!
You help me to discover many bands. Thank you🤘
Awesome video as always 🤘
Great play again, was a nice mix 👍
Even though I like my old school stuff I also love brutally and technicality! But to even give credit to DEATHCORE, whether one likes it or not, it's part of our culture, NIIICE!
Klasse Video ma' wieder. Richtig gut, Bruder!
Deathcore even has its own sub-genres now. If it’s metal, it’s gonna have a least a good handful of sub-genres attached to it. There’s something for everyone 🤘🏼
@@prodigy-ke7sl which I always say, just like John Tardy, "to me it's all just METAL!" Sometimes I also just say Extreme Metal. For simplicity..
Hell yeah 💥good stuff 🤘belphegor/necrophagist/decide/suffocation🤘🤘👹
Awesome man! Killer concept. DM got so much to offer. Hail Death Metal! ;)
Out of hand is such a fantastic song ❤
Nice to see Morbus Chron, I was listening to them today
Yo thanks for introducing me to Morbus Chron, this is sick!
I'm 47 and was growing up on Death Metal.
It's funny how people nowadays call it a sub-genre while for me it's all just Death Metal. 😆
Yup 48 and it’s all death to me! From fear factory to Cannibal Corpse it metal asf
Protector is a serious deep cut, respect! Incredible album!
YES I was hoping to see septicflesh on this list, one of my favorite bands of all time🖤
Author, thank you for giving me ideas on what to listen to
Thanks and congrats ! !
I love the sounds you choose, like
You’re really good. 🎸 That’s a good list. There’s also:
•Gothic death metal: Crematory’s Transmigration album
•Avant-garde death metal:
Gorguts’ Obscura album
•Rap death metal:
Necro - Suffocated to Death by God’s Shadow
Tribulation belongs in the Gothic Death category
Gorguts Is Dissonant Death Metal
atheist death metal because it is a unique band
Ouh yeah Necro!:)
Yeah man, killer video again!
always Thank you!
Man these are some great picks - seems like everyone has forgotten Disharmonic
Awesome compilation. Funny, been a fan of Fear Factory big chunk of my life, but never stopped to wonder if it is part death.
pure dope riffs
nice list master
Great video
Great video!
Awesome tones all over this video. Extra thumbs up for the Cynic riffs.
sehr cool geworden... diesmal wieder!!! 😍
Again another great video.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
This is awesome 🤟
Death thrash and death n roll by far my favorite styles here.
I tip my hat to you sir. Well played! 👍
Outstanding 🤘
Brilliant 🤘
Bombastic!!! I only missed "Death- Crust" or Death- D-beat (Disfear, World of ruins, Distrüster,Extreme Noise Terror, Fear Connection, Phantom corporation etc.) ...
As always, I’m totally speechless!
Amazing!!!
I liked everything about that!
Good job ! Only difficult riff 🧨
Great vid, would love to see a top 10 of Suprizingly hard to play songs.
Great to see Morbus Chron! Awesome band.
Amazing Video. I do not know if anyone has told you that you look a hell of a lot like Frank Blackfire.
Que buen video!!! 💪🏼😎🔥🤘🏻
Really cool to see a nod to Disharmonic Orchestra.
Damn what a list!! Kept the best to last as well!!! "Shunned from the light........."
BRUTAL ! 🤘🏼👍🏼🤘🏼
Yeah that soul of a new machine was a lot different than what fear factory did after. I was kinda shocked when I first heard it. I heard it in reverse order because I got demanufacture first, then remanufacture then soul of a new machine. I had always called fear factory the terminator band because it sounded like they were just doing sound tracks for terminator movies.
Man I’ve seen FF over 20 times live and they put on a great show every time
Awesome. 🤘🤘
This is a great video! All the riffs really capture the essence of each genre. Most of these 20 genres are surprisingly real, but come on. Florida and old school are the same genre.
I thought it was cool that you actually included deathcore, because back in the day that subgenre was rejected a lot by metalheads, and it's a lot cooler to see it more accepted now
FEARED! Thanks for that, mate! Instalike
loving the cynic riff 🤘
Sick AF, I wish I had me one of them Ironbirds
Playing Sacrifice Unto Sebek that calmly is WIIILD
Yeahhh, total concentration 😁 greets my friend !
Awesome!!! 💀 👍
I'm a huge Septic Flesh fan, my favorite are their first 3, especially The Ophidian Wheel! It's such a unique album; not sure how to characterize it, maybe "atmospheric melodic doom death metal".
Regardless if these are all actual distinct genres or not, I'm just here for those sweet riffs. 🤘
Nice Job
4:53 Protector!! Fuck yeah dude. One of my favorite albums. Mad it’s not on Spotify.
Alotta gnarly riffage on this video from one of my all-time favorite subgenres in metal music.
