25 Best Carcass Guitar Riffs (1988 - 2021)

- Here’s a compilation of my 25 personal favorite Carcass riffs (in random order).
I hope you'll enjoy this one!
It was very hard to choose because Carcass has a ton of slammin’ riffs (Bill Steer is an absolute legend). Some songs were released on different albums / E.P.’s and sometimes they were re-recorded with slightly different riffs. Some artwork is from re-release editions.
There are no backing tracks used in this video. All guitars are played by myself / drums and bass programmed.

The GREATEST CARCASS guitar cover EVER.
YOU SIR
Are my new CARCASS hero.
The HUNDREDS of hours that went into learning all these riffs
And HRS and hrs into recording for this video..the editing...oyevai.
Bravo sir!
5 out of 5 💀 ☠️ 💀 ☠️ 💀
Thanks man!! 🤘🏻
This is 25 Consecutive Fatalities
That would be a killer name for a death metal band.
Carcass is peak metal, it's just one of those few bands everybody loves no matter which genre you hail from. True Gods of Grind!
Carcass has a sound that is distinctly theirs, and to see these riffs put together like this, it's just awesome. Been a fan from the beginning.
thanks!
Carcass is underrated, imo, like the album Necroticism - Descanting The Insalubrious, is perfection
Bill Steer is absolutely the GOAT of riffage.
The "Black Star" riff has always been one of my Carcass' favourite riffs due to its tasty groove.
All hail Bill Steer, funny that how even after all these years the rhythm section playing in conjunction with the solo in No Love Lost gets the toe tapping, head banging!.
Hard to believe Heartwork came out only 2 years after Metallica released The Black Album. Carcass were so ahead of their time!
Does Heartwork have any correlation to the Black Album?
the best carcass riff is from necroticism, from 00:00 to 48:03. the album is a riff machine with some speeches in between
I love everything that Carcass ever made, but Necroticism always makes me experience the same feelings from when I first listened to it. By far my favourite Carcass album and one of the best metal albums ever \m/
This is incredible. Bill Steer is such an amazing guitarist. He has also played in two hard rock bands (Firebird and Gentlemen's Pistols) and you easily hear his distinctive style of playing. Phenomenal work man!
And early Napalm Death
And Bill is a really nice dude. Met Daniel and Bill the last time Carcass came through. Made my day for sure. Had a record and a CD with me and Bill took it on the tour bus and the whole band signed my record and CD even though they hadn't woken up yet. Effing cool band been a fan since I first heard them around 93ish
Thanks man 🤘🏻
Dude, wake up and smell the Carcass! This is great!
The transition between "this is your life" and "unfit for human consumption" caught me off guard. Well played.
what was cool was hearing a modern sound with some of the older riffs. really made them pop.
This is the best video to introducing to Carcass!!
Bill Steer is fucking Legend!
I can think of a heap more riffs as good, and there are equally as many drum fills that I could call out, which says to me that Carcass are in fact the most amazing and versatile band of all time.
YESSSSSSSS . Carcass is a top 4 all time favorite band. Someone needs to do 25 best Carcass Drum Parts. Ken Owen is massively under appreciated.
Always glad to see Reek Of Putrifaction, Corporal Jigsore Quandary, and 316L Grade Surgical Steel in these lists. Those are my absolute favorites
I don't know what it is but something about the riffs on Black Star never fail to amaze me. Without a doubt one of my favourite Carcass songs 🔥🤘🏻
Great playing and you have chosen the tastiest of riffs! Embodient alone has a number of them!
Thanks!
I could watch this all day
The old Carcass riffs are pure classics, The solos are an art. 🤙
10:10 Best solo of all time
Thanks for including Keep Rotting in the Free World
It's so nice to see Swansong get some love!
DESCANTING back in 1992-93 was a game changer for me. All the way up in Ketchikan, Alaska...I had this playing in my sony cassette walkman. Alo g with Death Human.
Badass video
Amazing cuts, amazing playing.
One of the best bands ever.
You made it easier for those who want to learn these fantastic parts. Great job!!!
Thanks! 👍🏻
Everything on Heartwork kills.
Impressive mate! 👊 Nice edited and an great ode to the kings of Rot 'n' Roll...
Thank you!
Good way to start my morning with some Bill Steer goodness 🤘😸
You bet!
Я рад что Carcass не забывают !!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I just heard my entire childhood thanks!
At 17, in 1989, I was one of 3 people that I knew who loved grindcore.
Carcass was the band for me.
I had to wait until I was 47 before I finally got to see them in El Paso Texas.
Not only did I start that pit, I kept it going through the entire Surgical Steel set.
It was like I was 17 again and not an old man.
There's no other band except maybe Aborted who gets me that pumped up
was this at Tricky Falls? if so I was there! I miss that place RIP
@@calvin6593 yeah bro, it was tricky falls! I was the bald guy going bat shit in the pit all night lol
Awesome bro! Till next mosh pit brother!
That tone is insane!!!
Damn, you nailed that Carcass tone. Well done! I will always have a special place in my heart for Black Star. Incredible song.
Great! Greetings from Russia 🤘
Thank you love Carcass and you killed it hard ....
This Mortal Coil will always get me so damned hype
Killer riffs for sure!
At the gates shirt...cherry on top.
Menzione particolare a " the living dead at the Manchester morgue" : semplicemente Eccezionale ! Maestosa composizione ! Grandissimi Carcass
Great list, and great interpretations! You hit nearly every riff that I felt should be on a 'best of' for Carcass, and a good mix of old and new. Very happy to see "Blind Bleeding the Blind" and "Black Star" on there.
Thanks!
Your tone is awesome, what are you amping your guitars with?
Wow man, this is perfection... technique and sound, the correct feel, it's all there. Great.
Thanks!
Awesome! I've had the fortune of going to several of their concerts. In one of them I got to see the show right from the stage sitting on one of the PA side speakers, I thought at some point security or someone from the band's crew was going to tell me to go down to the floor but nobody said anything to me. Bill Steer the closest to me, like 3 meters away. It was great.
they do not get the credit they deserve, great job man - necroticism is a genre altering album imo.
thanks!
That's my favorite from them.
Wake up and blast all the carcass' songs!
Excellent work! Clean playing, great tone, played correctly. Fantastic!!
Carcass , my favorite band 😁
About to change my guitar to B standard and I cannot wait to learn some Carcass
Awesome tuning! ⚡️
using standard tuning u can use the DigiTech Whammy DT Pedal pitching down to B tuning
Sick playing, savage tone, and an amazing production, mate. All those things made me truly forgive for not having Buried Dreams on the list lol 🤘
Thanks! It's hard to choose only 25 ;)
..is the correct answer! @@stephanbrus 😄
I'm a metal guitarist too, and carcass are my favourite band 🤘 I've always loved thier riffs, but never realised how technical they are until I seen this 👍 excellent guitar work brother 🤘 METAL FOR LIFE 🤘
Thanks man!
@@stephanbrus no, thank you!!! 🤘
This is pure bliss bro, sick job. I was hoping you would play more from the 1st and 2nd album. It would be awesome to hear a remastered version like this from whatever the fuck they were doing on Reek Of Putrefacfion in 1988 lmao
thanks man! Stay tuned ;)
I always wished they'd go back and re record the first 2 albums. Ken was struggling hard to stay in time
Fucking amazing! I tried once to play in B without changing the tension and the strings were like overcooked pasta!
I was waiting on Steer's solo on No Love Lost
That no love lost riff sounded like a DIMEBAG riff🤘
Man, this brings me so much joy. Really great video. I really appreciate this considering the world is going to shit. Thank you so much. More Carcass please!
Thanks!
Brilliant... that was pure bliss...
My favorite band of all time, the band with the most unbeatable riffs ever
the band that came back and just crushed every new metal band whom thought they hade taken Carcass's place =)
Thank you! Carcass is still one my favourites after 30 years of listening. There's always something catchy riffs to take a another look with these amazing guitar playing skills you have! Thanks again and keep the spirit up!

I headbanged so hard! Nice job.
Totally awesome
Very well done. 👍
Good job man! I really like that sound.
Great work! So inspirational. Thanks for sharing!
All awesome riffs Great playing!!!
Brother, this is amazing - I haven't heard anyone else come as close to the tone and feel of the actual recordings. You have a new sub!
One question; are you using pedals and and amp, or straight DI with IRs & distortion etc in DAW, or an effects unit like Axe FX or Quad cortex? Cheers.
I'm curious what the source is as well, amps vs plugins, etc. Tone is great (as is the playing)
Surgical precission! Great job dude!
Thanks 👊🏻
That's such a great sound! And playing of course 🤘
Thanks!
