Fantastic stuff man, you're very cultured and respectful when it comes to choose representative songs for each genre. Also, adding the old school death guitar tune was the best decision. You should do a part two, this is on my playlist everyday 🤘🏻🔥🔥
Praise this man for remembering to include Candlemass! 🤘

Very good work man! The choice of the songs to illustrate each 'subgenre' is just brilliant. THAT'S IT! Differences are clear even without the singing. Even my wife commented: "Ah, now I understand..."
And of course... masterful guitar playing; Even like the guitar models you chose for each illustration.
Masterpiece.
All the best from Leipzig/Germany.
Without any vocals it becomes hard to tell many of these genres apart
I wouldn’t say they’re hard to tell apart, but one could certainly miss the point of some of them
Also not futzing with the amp/pedals in between each one lol

Great selection of bands and riffs, and sounding sweet. Also cool to acknowledge the diverse expressions of metal ♥️🤘🏽
Rap Metal into grindcore into Doom Metal riffage was pretty brilliant! Need a whole song now that combines all those elements!
Pleasantly surprised to see Living Colour in this. They are so much more than the beauty that is "Cult of Personality" and are a very underrated band as a whole.
@Joe dirty71 the least miserable metal head
@Joe dirty71 cry harder
@@joedirty7176funk Metal is still Metal.🤘🏻
@@joedirty7176 Do you wanna elaborate why you think TheSuffocater's wrong and lying to us playing 24 genres of metal and 1 random other song? Because "It doesn't feel like metal" ain't it. Vernon Reid - the singer - has the exact same vocal stylings as Ozzy or any original metal band. So even your argument of the band being 1/3 metal is wrong, and Lars Ulrich counts as a metal drummer so a toddler tossing a stick into the air at a drum kit counts as a metal drum track. So frankly, I'm seeing 3/3
Jinjer-progressive or jazz metal?
Power Metal and Black Metal are just like heaven and hell💥🔥
Well done. I think you hit a lot of those intricacies. Somehow reinforced why I like certain metal genres over the others.
Highly impressive! Such great tone on every riff. Sounds just like the original. Kickstart my heart was great
Bro. Your guitar tone when you played Deftones's My Own Summer fucking cushed me. So good❤️
Never thought anyone could make Mötley Crüe could sound so good
Better guitar tone made all of these sound great. He knows HOW to address the riffs too.
Say what you will about the style and antics of Crüe you gotta respect the fuck outta Mick Mars, man knows how make amazing riffs and leads of all sorts when he's practically a cripple
@@jacktowers7533 bruh, I'm gonna shit over Motley Crüe, but the guitar is immaculate (no I'm not gonna shit on them I quite like them tbh)
Surprising to me how much shit Crüe gets. They lit up the 80s a lot less impressive bands on this list.
Mötley Crüe makes Mötley Crüe sound good
Even that is missing the Melodic Death Metal, Blackened Death Metal and Technical Death Metal, this is a pretty solid list... you really show the diversity in all these genres. Thanks for the playlist man !
You making that shi up. But… why not? 🙏🏼
Wow. Its rare when a video end I just wish it kept going, but you managed it!
Amazing playing!
youtube is full of this kind of video-compilations about metal genres, but i feel like yours are the most complete ones. also, it's a pleasure to hear those riffs. proud subscriber
Thanks ! And welcome to the channel !
Fantastic choices that would make fans of each represented subgenre proud. Nailed the guitar tones for each style as well.
Great presentation and selection, thanks!
You've convinced me to revisit Meshuggah - I think perhaps I've matured just enough to have a chance of "getting" them now, which was not the case when I first heard them in the early oughts.
They will still be boring.
Really nice to see Jerry Cantrell playing some death and dream theater. Awesome guy!
Thought the same😂.
Picking Living Colour Specifically was a tasty choice for Funk Metal we all love them but we never say it out loud enough such a great band
Great profile picture haha
I love how you showed respect for every genre, very good selection of bands
This video was awesome already, but when Ensiferum showed up - this made me smile! Great video!
The song choices were really good. They represented their genre quite well.
deathcore has gone through so many changes since 2012, "you only live once" does not represent how the genre looks nowadays
@@reddbanger420 i'd imagine any of lorna shore's recent songs could be a better fit
@@IceDemonPTLorna and shadow of intent etc are what I consider post deathcore. We have post hardcore so why not. Og deathcore will always be old suicide, whitechapel, all shall perish, etc. there is a distinct difference so I think “post” makes that clear while also paying homage to the roots of the genre.
@@reddbanger420 i would've argued the opposite; if anything one of suicide silence's earlier songs would've fit better
Totally agree. I was even bopping along to the genres I usually hate, cos he picked the ones with the chonkiest riffs.
Some excellent picks, played in flawlessly, great job man!
Man, this scratched my brain in all the right places. Thank you for this 🙏🏻
Bro your professionalism impressed me. You play a lot of guitar, thanks for the list you've made, I didn't knew most of these songs 😅
I don't know if you like all of these songs, but you did respect and played perfectly each one, i can see you love playing guitar.
Congratulations from Brazil 🎉
Awesome song choices! Demiurge is an absolute gem, Walk has to be one of the most iconic, meanest riffs ever, and Black No.1 and My own Summer just burn themselves into your brain immediately.
glad to see you making some good progress on your channel!
I've always loved metal but only recently started to learn the different genres, so this is super helpful thank you!
Really cool! I’m a bit new to metal (I’ve started exploring a few months ago), so this video really helps me to know and explore different genres and bands too. :) 👍
Dude your picking hand is a monster. And love that you busted out the Jeff guitar for the Slayer one :)

Death Metal + Vocaloid= beauty
Wanna ask. Is UtsuP counts as someone who already tried all kind of these genres?

Your dedication to metal is second to none
Core guy here, just wanna say thanks for the inclusion of Killswitch, Suisilence, and meshuggah (I know they're not core, but they brought us a new era) I know that realm of things isn't the usual here, and you did it beautifully :)
Insane that a Metalhead recognizes Core genres in a Metal genre video :D
I also am a core guy, cant get enough of it. I also love different types of melodic metal. Melodic metalcore, melodic deathcore, melodic death metal. Also really love technical and progressive, hehe. And djent as some people call it

Cool video! Although I would say that Ensiferum track isn't a _great_ representation for folk, it has a lot of the general vibe but something with more obvious folky elements would have been cool to hear to clearly differentiate it from other genres :)
As always a great and tasteful selection.

Wow man thank you so much that's such a dope video! I'm pretty new to really heavy stuff even though I raised on some of the mentioned bands so when I've seen all the metal subgenres in wiki I got completely lost. Will there be part 2?
Awesome video 😎🤘🏻🎸 my favorite genres are heavy metal, groove metal, thrash, industrial, goth, doom, power, and I also liked nwothm(new wave of traditional metal).
Death Metal from the 80s to today for me always 🔥
I’d love a video like this but with specific notes on what defines the genre musically/stylistically and a list of popular bands in that genre
So basically a video version of the giant rock music mind map Jack Black writes on the chalkboard in School of Rock!
After seeing so many of our thrash/death metal type videos, seeing you play Crue made me giggle.
Picked some awesome songs to showcase each genre! Killer playing too 🤘🏼
You presented twenty-five genres of Metal, but all I heard was different variations of seriously bad-ass music. Depending on the mood I'm in, I could listen to any of these bands or their counterparts and enjoy every second of it. Thank you for including bands like Living Colour, Type O, and other OGs while introducing me to a couple new bands I hadn't heard of, but now have my interest.
Also, thank you for playing an Incantation song, Diabolical Conquest is an insanely good album
Thanks for this list. I'm starting at the metal world now and i was needing it.
Thanks for showing Suicidal some love! Seems like they rarely get any in these types of videos. Rocky George is my favorite guitarist of all time. \m/
Fantastic job each songs/band is a great pick 🤘
I like how he didn't label Meshuggah as "Djent". Way before the genre, like Devourment before "Slam".
Dark Throne instead of something like Dimmu was respectable AF.
Superb as always!! cheers from El Salvador!
