Got my first job at 14 in '81. Every payday after that, I was at the local record store. Seems like there was a new awesome band every time I went.

It's in no particular order I'm assuming, otherwise Overkill would and should be higher on the list than the majority of bands on here.
I just discovered Coroner for the first time maybe a month ago and I was blown away. What masterpieces of albums to go so underappreciated!
Big time. I'd say possibly the most talented under the radar metal band ever.

@@wallbarr Tommy Vetterli is such an incredible shredder. Intro + Nosferatu is one of the greatest instrumentals ever.
That solo tone!!! Blew me away as a teen. Got me out of playing most riffs in my comfortable 4/4 box and also earned much more respect for trash with just one guitarist. Also love (another) Tommy from Prong too, bad ass riffs as well as textures.
Yeah I bought all the albums as they came out on vinyl. What time man. Bloody awesome.

Saw Dark Angel live this summer. After the show Rienhart came up to me and hugged me because he said I was awesome in the crowd! But the best part was when Gene Hoglan went up to me and gave me his drumstick, i was absoluetly speachless. Was already a fan before but now I'm a die hard fan

The few albums we got of Dark Angel, were very underrated. Tons of killer riffs.
Huge band, in terms of artistic value
Coroner should have been SO MUCH bigger. that record was (and still is) amazing

Try Onslaught 'In Search if Sanity' and my personal favourite Acid Reign 'The Fear'. 2 British thrash bands from the 80s/90s
For British Thrash also try Slammer, Annihilated, Deathwish, Sabbat, Virus, Lawnmower Deth, Hydra Vein to name a few

Metal is not a genre I tend to listen to on a regular basis, but every time I watch your videos, I find something I like. Sadus and Voivod sounded pretty good to me.

Awesome job! Great to see some of the best lesser-know bands but you forgot Heathen! Man those guys have some of the raddest riffs. Also Sabbat and Flostsam & Jetsam are top level bands.

I have seen 19/35...a few here I have never heard of...like Xentrix, Protector and Demo Hammer...going to explore them. I love that you got Voivod in there...such an influence on my drumming and guitar playing...ie Piggy (rip) opened the door for odd chords for me and now Chewy crushing all the new material. It's been 7 yrs. since seeing them but I had the opportunity to open for them in 1997 when they were a 3 piece for a bit. Amazing meeting them then and again 7 yrs ago. Great job on this...I'm sure it was not easy to pic these 35.

I think Invocator's Through the Flesh to the Soul is one of the heaviest riffs ever recorded
I appreciate the nod to Jeff Hanneman with the urban camo ESP. I enjoy watching your videos playing the music of my formative years (I'm 47 now) and will always have a place in my heart for the thrash and death metal bands that (I hope) have influenced today's metal. Up the irons, horns up, and any and all of the old metal sayings that communicated the metal ethos among each other.

I have been a fan of punk (mostly hardcore) since I can remember. I obviously dabbled in metal growing up but just recently started getting really into thrash, crossover thrash, death, black and doom metal... and the amount of awesome bands for each genre (and sub genre) is overwhelming.. in a good way haha. I am loving these lists.
