    You put a smile on my face every day with your sincere way of showing the true and best way to emerge in the balinese life. The best sate ive eaten was from an old lady sitting in the gutter faning the hot coals in sanur to produce sate babi and saucs kecang that was to die for. Keep up the good work mate 😊

    Looked 5 star meal to me haha I'll never understand people that stay in all inclusive resorts to never leave them and stuff their pie holes with what they get. That bird statue was a great find, love to find stuff like that randomly walking around.

      Hey bluefish. Yeah, getting out and wandering around is a much more rewarding experience to have if you ask me. And the statue is almost completely out of site which makes you think few people know it's there which makes it a little more enjoyable. Cheers.

    Your indo vocabul;ary getting pretty good mate, and it looks like you got the numbers as well, they seem to understand you you so you are effectively communicating, despite what some people claim Indo is actually a difficult language for us Australians because they put the emphasis on the end of words rather then Australians who tend to cut off the last bit of our words and the emphasis at the beginning.. And they really appreciate a foreigner who tries the language because most dont and expect them to speak english, so you shouldnt be embarrassed by any means. Anyway, just a couple of tips if I may, the "a" in indonesian is always pronounced "uh", and clearly emphasise the last part of the word. But enjoying your videos, if you like street food then try Java or Sumatra next maybe.

    • @fiascodagama1
      @fiascodagama1  26 днів тому +1

      Appreciate the tips as always, ian - thanks. I fully understand my Indonesian is cumbersome and that I have less than a basic grasp, however, you touch on a really important aspect to it - people really appreciate the effort in the trying and as a consequence warm to you. I started to wonder why my portions of food started increasing. :) Indonesia's a big place with lots to explore. Thanks Ian.

    Really enjoy this video - we are in Bali 4 - 5 times a year and always seeking out authentic warungs to eat at - favourite in sanur is warung odah Perak that has the best nasi campur for about 20000 idr! My friends who also visit Bali talk about eating at large western resorts and wouldn’t dream of eating at a warung in a gang and certainly would never consider street food - well I think they are missing the gold of the people and the authentic food.
    Btw- blackbird is difficult to play you did well 😊

    • @fiascodagama1
      @fiascodagama1  26 днів тому

      Hi Steven. i definitely understand how people who are on their annual holiday want to enjoy nice things and relax in pleasant surrounds and, well, spoil themselves. But there's an atmosphere and engagement you have when eating locally that can't be had when at tourist restaurants - you've obviously discovered this yourself. We'll just have to suffer with it ourselves. :) I'm blaming my poor rendition of Blackbird on the guitar, Steven, not my peerless expertise on the instrument. LOL

    Did it say Petulu at the bird statue? Then it's a heron. I found this: "The Cranes of Petulu Bali
    A strange, natural phenomenon occurs each evening in the village of Petulu. Thousands of white herons arrive here around 6:00 pm to roost for the night before flying off again in the morning. The birds first began coming here after a communist massacre in 1965." That last sentence is very intriguing.
