The thing I love about Tiff is his emotion and also the small Easter eggs like how to shift the SMG smoothly and like a pro! Many YTers who comment on the SMG dont understand the throttle adjustment necessary. Like riding a sportsbike!

The i8 isn't supposed to be a supercar. Its supposed to be a stylish daily driver that has some performance. Instead of buying a mini or funky looking electric or hybrid you buy an i8
Beware ! big end bearings are a ticking time bomb , if you are planning to buy one of these, buy one that has had the bearings replaced , or replace the soon as you purchase the car. clevite and acl sell the replacement bearings , make sure you check bearing crush of the new bearings 006-008" less than .006" and the bearing could spin , more than .008" will distort the bearing.
I have come to the conclusion that this is going to be my next purchase..I currently drive a r53 MINI...however I’m 37 and it’s about time I get a “grown up” car...lolz.
Wished BMW and Mercedes removed their 155 mph speed restrictors. A car that costs around $100k and has potential of Ferrari, Lambo and Pagani top speed should be unrestricted. Driving a Mercedes E55 AMG on track-days and there is no way of going faster than 155 mph. Same for an Audi RS7. Only tuners can remove the speed limiters off the ECU in these cars.
Firstly this has to be one of the greatest cars to grace this planet, and secondly if anyone was a beemer man it’s tiff proper car person and we all know proper car people love BMW

i guess the m4 should be a bit quicker in every day acceleration but the m5 should have a bit advantage in the top speed. lets call it a draw there. handlingwise (in terms of, how quick it goes around a track) the newer car should better the old m5.
@Karanjy to me, its not just the break in period, all finely tuned engines MUST be fully warmed before revving. The warm up lights were/are all wrong as they go by coolant rather than oil. BMW should have just put a 3k rev limit until the oil hit working temps

Have you heard about the parable of the man who spent every penny he made and even went into severe crippling debt buying and keeping up with the maintenance of his e60 m5? Yes he worked 70 hours weeks in a hot factory breaking down his body day by day like a whip with pounding sounds of forklift beeps repetitively embedded into his head. All to keep up paying for the car at the end of the week he had nothing. Even had to spend 20$ a week on food because that’s all he could afford food also never bought a house couldn’t afford that had to sleep in the m5. What a life he lived. I could tell you even more
Yes well you're not actually accelerating between gearshifts in any car so 🤷♂️ the gearbox isn't even slow just seems so because we're spoiled with DCTs and fast autos these days that's just progression tho
Ahhhh no....These regularly get into single digits. I know a guy who had one of these and a 458 and he used to not drive the M5 because of how bad on petrol it was. These are one of the very thirstiest cars ever made. Everyone who owns them admits to that!
Depreciation is the best if you're not the kind of sucker who buys new! I never would have owned the M6 if it'd kept its value! Just sell it before it blows... Hot potato!!
Ian Townsend Because only their engine is good, rest is junk! Clutch problems, transmission problems, suspension problems... and fuel economy is so bad! 18-25l per 100Km on average and you have only 55l tank. 300Km max range... But yeah, it's all worth for that beutiful V10 engine sound :D
Ian Townsend Not exactly, The 2006/07 models run for about 30 grand and they have no warranty! To buy one of these you MUST still remember that you are buying a 100k car without warranty. They may be cheap but maintenance cost makes them expensive, Which is ok considering its a 100k super car with a high revving V10. Here in KC Baron BMW dealer had a 2006 m6 with SMG, Clean looking car with 50 something thousand miles for $46,000 with 1000 mile warranty or 30 days whichever comes first. 50/50 cost split. Sounds cheap but its actually expensive however owning one of these is a dream to come people.

M mode leaves a bit of traction control on. He must have had it off completely. I never turn it off completely because it tries to kill you immediately. It breaks traction up to 4th gear easily. Great car but it is 1.7 ton so you gotta be careful.

When the E60 M5 was designed, the DCT didnt exist. It would not be feasible to put one in for the last model year or two.

BMW SMG gearbox is just plain crap. But because it was built upon a manual transmission, manual gearbox conversion is a possibility.

That has always bothering me. It hurt seeing a new engine below the break-in period revved cold

He revved it only to like 3k rpm without any load on the engine. Its ok. Stop worrying.
Tiff is the man and all, but I cried when he cold revved that S85.
He didnt rev it to 8k.... 2-3 max which is absolutely safe.

my dad bought this e60 in 2008 and he changed the rod bearings every 3 year and the car still lives today with no issue only fuel bcs he eats to much
