when you think about it, the transformation of this car from the nasty photos on craigslist when it was in NC all the way to doing 330 kmh on the German autobahn is just mind-blowing. Goes to show the amount of time, passion and skill Sreten poured into this machine.
Prety big difference. Thank you!
@@M539Restorations How did you remove the Limiter? was it an easy process? I've been told you must flash tune, but I would rather not and leave the ECU standard if possible. Thanks for your help! And keep the vids coming! I'm using them to help me look after my own E39 M5 and E60 M5 SMG! They are the best!!

@@M539Restorations EPIC EVOLUTION! back to the Track Jack..the One, the Only, Da RING!
24 minutes like it was 5 seconds... Man i just love this content.

I say that if que pay for all the speedometer, we should be able to use all the speedometer!!!
Everything has an end .. only a sausage has two ! Dadada
amazing! you should visit us with that thing
Hey, how did no one notice you here💀.
“Slowing down for the corner…” goes from 240kph to 270kph. Epic.
14:27 The difference between Euro drivers and US drivers:
Euro: Doing 270 kph and still moving to the right lane.
US: Doing 60 mph and clogging the left lane.
Too True... North America is filled with left lane Bandits!
@@petepenn1 UK too (although they're right lane bandits here obviously). ~BuT i'M dRiViNg aT tHe SpEeD LiMiT~
Thats beacause in Germany and else where in Europe there are no fast lanes. There are driving lanes and overtake lanes only. We are taught that first overtake its done by the left side, and second we are not allowed to "drive" on the overtake lane.
Yeap, and what boggers me more is that the fkin US dudes buy 3/5/7 litre engines and use them to run with 60 mph, and obeying the law as much as they can. Nothing bad in that tho, But why tf 70% of americans got Mamba engines and cars if they gonna snail in the highway ? Buy some cheap 1.5 or 2 litre car and be efficient.
thay call that simple : driving culture . Germans and Italian has that , in USA a milions of people do not know how to enter the car not to drive at 270 km/h
When you go 270, and still got a gear left to shift into...
Corvette C6 2008 300kmh in 5th and 5500 rpm, you never use the 6th haha
Not just that, but power to accelerate as well.

I was just able to get my hands on one of these manual E60 M5’s 1/1364… rods done 1k miles ago with ACL bearings already, new brakes around, new clutch. It’s the most addictive thing I’ve ever driven. I swore to myself 3000 miles a year max….. you haven’t lived until you have driven this car. This channel gave me the confidence I needed to go for it. I paid a good bit more but also got a very clean example at 119k miles for less than 1/3 original price…. Owner had 17 of the coolest cars including a 2 other SMG E60s and he almost backed out last minute. I honestly can’t believe I got my hands on it. You are one of the very best. Perfect content, I love your style. Keep it classy, OEM…. Except that exhaust… lol had to do it
This car seems to have insane pulling capacity, but the one that seemed most amazing to me was the one between 120 and 240 kph. It just goes!! Must be a joy to drive, indeed.
Yep, they don’t seem quick but are very fast, by that 0-100kph isn’t particularly quick but 120kph / 80mph and up it gets in its stride and rockets. Did 205mph in mine a lot. Great car, miss mine (it was very reliable 👍)

The design of the E60 is timeless, even next to an F10 or G30, the E60 looks contemporary
@@aDaWaN I'm afraid I do not agree: it looks modern not contemporary. This is way much different.
Yeah the bangle e60 is his best design then after that the e61 m6, the e66 7 series is worst while the e90 3 series is just ok

German autobahn; motorist heaven, where your daily commute can become the highlight your day!
And then you run into the infamous "baustelle".. for it seems like forever 😋😋
well ... there is a good chance that next elections in Sep will change that. Speed limit is looming around the corner.
The German Autobahn is a paradise that we Brazilians who love Bimmer and are limited to a maximum of 140 km/h on our roads here in Brazil!
@@sys-administrator No. That's absolutely wrong and a lie. The unlimited section of the autobahn is alot safer than any restricted highway in the neighbour countries.
@@sys-administrator The problem with your data is: the amount of cars are not directly comparable. Also germany is a transit country so that the higher risk of an accident comes from the lack of understanding from foreigner drivers of the german road laws.
Additionally many accidents are on construction parts where only 80km/h are allowed. These accidents will also be included on the autobahn statistics which is totally wrong. I live near the autobahn with a construction side (max.speed is 80km/h) and some people lost their lives or had accidents. So it doesn't have always to with unlimited speed.
Only in Germany can you reach 330km/h in a motorway and be sure that no one slower will suddenly "jump" in your lane. Good place to have such nice cars. Another great vid. Thanks.
its so enjoyable to see cars being driven hard when you actually know that they are healthy inside
When you love a guys channel so much you give it a thumbs up even before it's started.
By far this is my favorite UA-cam Channel...Streten is schooling a lot of the so called youtubers out there..
Thanks Streten for the weekly entertainment and for your mind set of excellence.
Wow! What a stress test! That engine rocks.
Wife has an ‘09 e64 with the manual, 15k miles, and loves it. Hearing it start up in the garage is amazing.
No roads here in the US to push it and hardly ever get out of 3rd gear...
Coooming up.. by far the best and most in depth automotive UA-cam machenic I know!
these are going to sky rocket in value soon i think
Sreten: Why does this car smell like sausages? Brilliant 😂
Watching 4 doors family sedan naturally aspirated V10 with stick rivving up to 9000 RBM and reaching 330 KM is what car enthusiasts need to see. I love the W211 E55 but I got to admit it this is pure BMW stuff.
You know the history of your top speed highway section? -> On January 28, 1938, Rudolf Caracciola reached a record average speed of 432.692 km/h on the Frankfurt-Darmstadt autobahn (a section of today's A5) and back (outbound towards Darmstadt 428.571 km/h, return towards Frankfurt 436.893 km/h). This is the highest speed driven on a public road to date. ... shifting at 270 ... holy Hans! Always have a good & save drive ✌️
Being an owner of a 2008 e60 530i Msport (recently acquired) and finding this channel on UA-cam is the best thing that could have happened for my car!!! Inspiring to watch someone with such passion for real driving machines, getting them back to mint condition! I have a lot to do…. Keep up the good work Sreten, love your channel! 👍🏻😁

Living stateside I haven’t had the opportunity to see 200+ in my 2008 E60 M5 which I’ve owned for over 11 years😬 Excellent video content👍
Dude, that's mental!!! So jealous of you having roads where you can actually drive a car as it was designed to be driven. If I'm ever in Frankfurt you've gotta take me for a burn 😊
This is when you have the right hands, sticking out from you... Best, funny, naturally youtuber ever! I have 3 bmws at home, all diesels, i wish i can do just 5% from what you doing... Amazing...
Thanks for all what you do!!!
I'm so glad at least somebody is able to live their best life. Sreten - you are living my dream, and I'm so happy for you!
Just started watching your channel, now going to go back and watch the beginning of this build. E60 M5 with manual transmission has been my dream car since I was in 3rd grade (15yrs!) I previously owned an E60 530xi (N52) with manual transmission which I adored and miss dearly. Seeing this video makes me want to pursue an M5 and fulfill the childhood dream...what a special car and still an incredible performer!
your probably one of the only channel i clicked on the bell and everything else you ask me to click. keep up the good work mate! love from Hong Kong❤️
Dude! You really cracked the code in life! "Do what you love, and you'll never work a day in your life". Though I'm sure it's not always easy (no one ever said it should be) but man I love watching your stuff and watching you stretch the legs on cars that most people out there wouldn't't come near win a barge pole! Best of all you and everyone watching these know that these beasts of cars have a lot more to give, if taken good care of.
This car has hit the jackpot, think about the story it has had, built in Germany and sent to the US. Only for it to rack up 140K miles and then be brought back to EU specification, registered in Germany and loved again. It's great to see.
The autobahn is a magnificent place to be, I was lucky to drive it often around 2001 2002 .
if you’re not in a fast car that doesn’t matter, it’s a spectacle to see the speed and sounds.. somewhat like driving in a race environment all the same.
Magnificent!!!!!
Officially the first channel that I subscribe too AND press the bell for notifications.
Massive fan here - Keep doing great content Sreten!
I’m an E39 M5 owner. Watching your videos, I have new found respect for the E60 M5. It’s an impressive machine. Great content!
Best sounding M5 for me. Also one of the most beautiful BMW has ever been produced
5 liter naturally aspirated V10 pumping out over 500 bhp back in 2007! Those numbers alone are spectacular, but not as spectacular as seeing you do over 300 kmh on the autobahn with the M5 appearing to be so solidly planted to the ground. Of course, at those speeds, knowing you have 375 mm drilled brake discs up front definitely boosts confidence. Woo hoo!! Awesome car & awesome video!
Great video as always but I have to point out something. When you were pushing brake calipers pistons, you should let brake fluid from caliper to flow out by valve in caliper, which is used for removing air from system. Reason is, the brake fluid working in caliper can get dirty and you don't want to have dirt in abs/esp pump.
Best camera angle I’ve seen for autobahn runs. You see the interior, but also the speedo in the corner. The pulling power of this thing at high speeds is nuts. It’s funny, the E39 M5 has more torque on a daily basis, still pulls hard at high rpms, gets significantly better fuel economy, is definitely more reliable, BUT the sound of this S85 at high rpms beats pretty much anything else. Both incredible cars, but for me it really shows how special this car is. And how much BMW M pushed themselves with the E60 M5. Sure, the F10 and F90 M5 are insanely fast and capable, but they’re massive and have gotten significantly heavier. For me, I love the E39 a little more than the E60 because of its looks and reliability, but the E60 M5 is still so special. Maybe the most special M5 ever. I love your videos!!
"Are you trying to maxout your Kia Picanto, my friend?":D:D:D:D:D (I own one)
Livin my dream! 330 (205mph) in a V10 M5 E60 on the stout German autobahn! Very interesting yet proud to hear the stability at top speed was spectacular.
Sorry to hear about the tragic catastrophe that occurred in western Germany. Wish those folks the best. Great to hear your area was safe.
Renting a M340i hopefully in October when I visit Germany. Looking forward to that Nurburgring date!
All the best mate!

Paul never sell it and keep it garaged. No snow. Almost all old gold is irreplaceable!
Amazing to see. Chuckled seeing the rev counter go one way, the fuel gauge go the other. Naturally, this being a North Carolina car, air conditioning on, all the way!

Man, I was surfing UA-cam looking at lion videos, saw your channel and effectively blew 4 hrs like it was 10 minutes.
Absolutely love the channel my man.
I love that V10 sound! That car is turning out so great.
I can't imagine going 200 mph with slower traffic in the lane next to me. Sad to say I would never trust those other drivers if we had an "Autobahn" in the U.S.. What a gift that is!
It's always crazy how 180kmh feels like walking speed after a high speed run.

Actual, my shift leader on the BMW Plant 6.1 (Regensburg, Bavaria) is named Hans and looks the same. Maybe I should bring him some sausages and see what happens.
Don't forget beer :)
@@M539Restorations Sreten this is Bavaria, we have even in the production a beer vending machine. ;) You know, you need to lubricate the conveyor system, but you also need to take care of the workers. :D
Just don’t TAKE the sausages after that… 😃
So glad you're able to enjoy all your hard work, and on a public road no less. As an American, I am extremely jealous of the last part. Maybe some day I'll get to take a fast car on the Autobahn.
Sadly, the majority of the people that could afford these things in North America when they were new chose to go with the SMG, so seeing you being able to pick up a 6-Speed Manual E60 for a reasonable price, *AND* restore it to a condition it deserves to be in is fantastic.
I lusted after this car when they were new, especially the manual.
If you are ever able to, see if it's possible to get some good audio captures of that V10 getting to redline. For me, the sound of that M5 V10 is only second to a GM R07 found in the Chevy NACAR Cup Cars.
With the way the world's going, I seriously doubt we'll ever see a new V10 in a passenger car ever again, so you've got a great piece of history!
No one steals sausages from Hans!! That M5 goes like a friggin' rocket
Considering the mileage it's done that's an absolutely amazing testament to the engineering.
That it sure is
I don't care about anything that car does, but the way it sounds, and playing the pedals to play those notes... man.
It's so much more exotic than the E39 but the older is still my favourite.
I am in to my 13th year of daily driving my M5 e60, I can honestly say that the amazing noise never gets old. Fuel consumption grates a little tho!

The part about taking away the car is quite interesting. How do they deal with the corner cases, for example if the car was stolen?
@@tonik.5767 To my knowledge, the owner of the car get it back if it has been stolen. There has been such a case already in Denmark :-)

14:28 - Sreten you're so nice to move to the middle lane to let faster traffic go by you! :)
It's not just nice, it's mandatory in most countries. Only the US has the silly "keep-your-lane" system where cars are basically moving roadblocks, causing more congestion and preventing traffic from flowing.

Just discovered you, great video. My dad had an E60 M5 as well many years ago, one of the last produced and delivered to the country, this made me remember it again. What a special car, I miss it and its engine. If only it was more reliable we may still have it to this day!
Always found BMW brakes easy to replace, Discs(Rotors) and pads, all you need is the right tools!
I remember moving to Germany after spending my life till that point in Australia, and I arrived just before winter. It was then that I understood how well engineered German cars are (especially the BMWs) because you actually need the engineering. Unlimited speeds on autobahns, snow and ice..... you can actually push your car legally to the limits. Then I move back to Australia some years later and go back to a nanny state with 110km/h limits, and only extreme heat, where all we really care about is comfort. Boooooo!
Of all places, Australia + Canada could easily have toll roads for autobahn type travel! Sad story there is no glory at 110kph.
Hans and Roger need their own UA-cam channel!
E60 M5 is a monster. I had the opportunity to drive one for half an hour about 12 years ago (of course and sadly the SMG version, but fortunately on an unlimited road, near Karlsruhe) and was absolutely amazed by its sound and ease of acceleration. You drive the same curves just 30km/h faster than in a "normal car" and think "whats the matter, this is easy", and you get the same feeling about the acceleration, the revs ... The only downside in my opinion is not the fuel consumption but the interior, mainly the dashboard. I already stated back in the day that this intentionally modern style would not age well, by far not as good as the E39, and I see myself absolutey confirmed. Admittedly you can live with it, but not with special delight. Anyway - great car, great clip, looking forward to the next ones.
The looks have aged really well considering how people slated it when it came out. And boy does it haul ass. Must feel insane to drive :)
This is the best channel on UA-cam !!!! Cant wait for project Chicago
Sreten talks the talk, and then walks the walk!
I would love to see a drive of one of the 8 Series down the autobahn flying flat out. That's what those cars were build to do, autobahn couriers, flat out between towns as you tour through Germany.
God in heaven I miss that country.

The E60 M5 is a special car, a V10 in a 4 door saloon is crazy, and it's never going to happen again. They are really under valued at the moment.
So my advice is if you want one, get one now. They do cost money to keep going, but what car with 500hp doesn't?
Watching Hoovie’s garage episodes about the e60 M5 made me reticent. If I had the money or a mechanic like stetan, maybe. I’d still probably go for the E39 M5 if I was going for an M5
