I love the design and craftsmanship! I would love to see you make a titanium ring with a wooden burl inlay. I saw one with crushed turquoise in the burl voids that was awesome.
Another good video. Thanks for the "reverse mandrel" idea. It gets old banging up my knuckles on the chuck jaws while finishing the inside of rings. I would wrap them in elec. tape and clamp them loosely in the chuck..... Not any more! lol.
did you consider using some sort of lapidary grinder for this? it might make the process a little quicker and could give a better polish. very nice ring keep up the good work
How well would the strontium aluminate show up if you did mostly meteorite chunks to get the effect of the outside cracking and the glow coming from inside ?
I know for me it would be a little more low key and definitely more to my style. Would love to see you do a trial one out just to get a feel for the look.
Really? I am a blacksmith and I've been interested in turning pommels for swords, so I need a lathe powerful enough to do this. I may have to look into it again. Thank you for your advise, I'll definitely give Harbor Freight another try. Love the channel by the way!
Hi Patrick Thank for sharing your video can you please tell me what that jig holds the ring is called & where can i can buy one from? Thanks in advance
just watched and glowing ring build and now a ring made with meteorite? perhaps perhaps a carbon fiber glow ring but instead of copper you use meteorite? definitely need to save money.
Strontium is a silvery metal found naturally as a non-radioactive element. About 99% of the strontium in the human body is concentrated in the bones.Several different forms of strontium are used as medicine. Scientists are testing strontium ranelate to see if it can be taken by mouth to treat thinning bones (osteoporosis). Radioactive strontium-89 is given intravenously (by IV) for prostate cancer and advanced bone cancer. Strontium chloride hexahydrate is added to toothpaste to reduce pain in sensitive teeth.Strontium chloride is the most common form of strontium found in dietary supplements. People use supplements for building bones. But there isn't much scientific information about the safety or effectiveness of strontium chloride when taken by mouth.
rvgog247 you can make a crystallized iron meteorite ring but I'm sure it'd cost more than the interest is worth. Can't even tell its crystallized unless you're close.
Hi bro I like ur ring makeing class (video) I'm a turner too It would be a guidance if u try to make "NFC" tag ring I am planning to make it would be helpful if u make one and give some help for different designs on the project I was planning to make grove on ring and stick tag and fill with glowing powder.
You should never be cutting the material when pulling the tool back. It can cause some damage to the tool and may affect the over all cut in the material causing some damage.
No talking, no explanation, just the annoying, high pitched sound of the lathe. I’ll have to check the date, I hope this is an old video. I’ve not been watching them in any sort of order.
Dear santa, please, a lathe...
you can make one witha hand drill
I'd like to see a dremel in action. I'd like to give this a try some day, so maybe some pointers on how you used it as a lathe?
+Patrick Adair Designs Ah yes, that's very helpful! Thanks
Two questions; is it possible to make this with out the heavy equipment? How much meteorite did it take to make this?
***** what is the liquid solution used to make the meteorite stick
That's a beautiful ring and I like the simple mandrel you used to polish the inside.
This really is a stunning piece

Nice job man, this is a cool ring!
I've been making coin rings for some time but this has got to be on my bucket list.
Me too! I wish I had room for a lathe.
May e you could makw one. It's basically a rolling stock touching a knife

I recognize those ring blanks and mandrel. I have the same. Made quite a few rings though I use a wood lathe and carbide turning tools.

This has to be the coolest thing I seen on UA-cam in ages, can you do titanium ring with glowing carbon fibre?
+ikybaiiki thanks! I probably could do that, it all depends on the design of it.
great work, can you pleas tell me what kind of liquid/glue exactly do you use? Thanks
really nice, i enjoyed the video
inside polishing jig is ingenious! thanks!:)
OUTSTANDING !! What kind of glue are you useing???
Where did you learn how to do this? Love your Work!!
Ho dang! Just with this you've earned another subscriber! C:
You've definitely got some amazing talent there. You are more than welcome. C:
did you consider using some sort of lapidary grinder for this? it might make the process a little quicker and could give a better polish. very nice ring keep up the good work
i was just kinda seeking in general. which grinder did you get?
Your videos are awesom
Hi Patrick... What is the tool called you are using to hold the ring centered in the Lathe?... Awesome work...
Pat , why are you hand holding a tool bit versus using a diamond file or something else ?
Sooooooo like the meteorite is like what 85% iron sooo
But still awesome 👏

Incredible
Do you have a website where I can look at, and possibly buy one of your rings? BTW, great job! Finished product looks fantastic!
Where did you get the mandrel to hold the ring in the lath jaws?
Nice work, it's a beautiful piece. What lathe are you using?
Thank you for the quick reply. How have you liked it? I have been hesitant to buy something that expensive from Harbor Freight .

Alright, thank you! I'll keep that in mind!
Hi Patrick
Thank for sharing your video can you please tell me what that jig holds the ring is called & where can i can buy one from?
Thanks in advance
What kind of 'glue' did u use on the meteorite and strontium mix?
What kind of glue or resin or epoxy are you using for the inlay process?
What are you using at 45 seconds in to pack in the CA glue and powder? Is it non-stick material?
What do you use to pack in the powder so the glue doesn't stick? And what's the polishing compound brand/type?
I would love to learn how to make rings like those
And now I'm deaf... at least it was a pleasing video :)
what type of hole bit do you use on your drill press for titanium?
nice watch
sounds like the dentist xd
just watched and glowing ring build and now a ring made with meteorite? perhaps perhaps a carbon fiber glow ring but instead of copper you use meteorite? definitely need to save money.
Can you explain what you're doing at 2:52ish?
Where do you get your ring cores from that have the grove in the middle to do the inlays from. I've been looking and I can't find them anywhere.
What glue did you use to attach strontium ?
Where can you get the titanium and stainless steel ring blanks?
patrick your videos are awesome but if added music in time lapse it would be even better
***** thanks for considering my request I love your videos
😁👊
***** hey I would really appreciate if you gave me a shout out . But only if you want i am still OK if you decide not to.😃
What glue use and its good in under water
What was the ring jig called for the lathe what you held the ring on ?
+Patrick Adair Designs i did metereals for the ring and where thay came from
beautiful
Thomas Jones another Thomas i see
How much does it cost to have one of these custom rings made? I was hoping to buy a carbon fiber ring with a glowing red center
+Patrick Adair Designs okay cool thank you! :)
isnt strontium aluminate a bit poisenous on the longterm?

Gooooood😙👍
Where do you get your ring blanks!
Do you make your own core or do you buy them? If you buy them, can you post a link?
Lol you just remove them!?! that's cheating ;) to bad you can just get the blanks for like 2 bucks!
matt anderson where you get these blanks from?
Is it possible to make a full meteorite ring?
I don't think full but if u cover all the metal with meteorite it will look like it's all meteorite
Yea that's what I thought. If a full meteorite ring is possible then I'd pay up lol
rvgog247 you can make a crystallized iron meteorite ring but I'm sure it'd cost more than the interest is worth. Can't even tell its crystallized unless you're close.
Actually the UA-cam "inspire to make" has made a full meteorite ring for his own wedding^^
Great other then my ear drums blown from the high pitch squill but great ring it was worth it lol
Where do you get your ring blanks at?
Yea I've been looking for a while now

Is there a reason for CA glue favoured over say epoxy ?
+Patrick Adair Designs sweet, that's good to know. thanks for the reply. I've watched all your videos so far and thoroughly enjoy them. Keep at it.
