Mason opening the door makes sense because that isn’t reznov opening it, that’s him opening it while bracing against the door.
Mason has so much plot armor he survived his assassination attempt that was implied at the end of the game

A few things...
- Just cause they're getting shot at doesn't mean they'll die. Unless its an MG or something, a couple enemies far away from you with Assault Rifles and SMGs with high recoil are gonna have a hard time hitting their shots. A shot to the chest down won't kill you but injure you to getting either permanently or temporarily discharged. You were pretty valid on most of the ones you talked about... So...
-Also, you would still get injuries or fie if you bust through the window because of all the cuts you would get and just injuries like broken and dislocated shit.
-That grenade one from the Tet Defensive, that wouldn't technically kill you. He was lying, his feet pointed towards the gernade. His feet/legs would be blown to hell, and maybe a few pieces of shrapnel and maybe some damage to the arms, but he'd probably survive unless he bled out.

Bo1: a belt of grenades 4 feet from mason doesn’t affect him at all.
Bo2: Woods throws a single grenade that blows out the wall & roof of a solid building
It’s pretty accurate that Mason and helos don’t go well together. MACV-SOG operators have said that in nearly every single insertion, the helos were always getting shot at from small arms to AA.

13:45 Fun fact, that scene isn’t retconned at all but given further context. IIRC James C. Burns, Woods’ VA, actually has a video acknowledging this, and from my memory what happened is Woods throws the grenade belt onto some of the machinery, shielding both characters from being blown to smithereens and leading to them surviving to Cold War and BO2,
It's wild to think of mason in a legitimate active combat zone. He would be the single most volatile and unpredictable asset in the field.

I feel like the tank that didn't shoot likey would have used it coaxial mg instead of the main gun as it didn't seem too many people were around mason/you .either that means he didn't see him cuase he was lucky, which i doubt because of the muzzle flash of the mg that Mason/you were firing, Mason/you, duck as soon as the tank turns it turret, as the tank dose apear to be firing i think it had more of a delayed reaction. Based on that i think using that main gun was useless, but i pretty sure tanks in the game are supposed to have a dealayed mg firing based on Experience.

Reznov has more plot armor in World at War, but he's not the protagonist. The protagonist Dimitri has a lot of plot armor in that game.

You forgot the injuries that the shattering glass in the beginning car chase would've caused but tbh that would've just been a quick doctors visit and a few bandages so not that costly.
Btw rhe first chief token in vorkuta can be avoided as you dont have to just run out and if you wait a second the turret gets blow up

Ok so the blowing up of krevchanko was not retconned, it was the trope of they didn't physically die on screen so we don't know they're dead
Well, according to the opinion of the game, the death of a character depends on the player himself. Perhaps some moments are certain death, but sometimes players overlook a lot and it seems unrealistic, but rather, it is relative to everything. Some things are different from one player to another player. And yes, before, some weapons were not as powerful as they are today, and some things happen contrary to the course of the game, and we may see them as illogical, but according to the original course of the game and not neglecting other matters, there may be an explanation and some realistic matters that prove that what happened in the game is correct.

it didn't need to be explained, that's the benefit of getting a character to retell a story, you as the writer have a reason to not tell anything that isn't relevant as the chracter inside the book or in this case, game, wouldn't tell either

They got to the boat from the base on foot, so he probably went back to the nazi base and took their vehicles. Also we next see him in Vorkuta, Dragovich's prison. So he probably got picked up by Dragovich on the way back or made it back to Russia on his own (or with Nevski) and like he told Mason "Stalin had no need for heroes"
This mirrors real life where Stalin imprisoned or executed war heroes because they saw what life was like outside of Communism and may have had ideas of a better life in Russia
