  • This video shows how to replace wheels / hardware / adjustment kit on a dishwasher rack. One of the wheels broke off my dishwasher rack. I found out that this was a common occurrence. After searching for parts on-line, I found out that there was an upgraded kit manufactured for this very issue. The following is a link to this kit:

Thrue there wasn't any instructions in the box. Made for technicians only? Old people who don't know how to find videos like this one would not be able to do it by themselves and need to hire someone else to do it ($$$). Two years only before braking it, but this piece should never have broken in the first place. We call it "obsolescence programmée" in french. Now that hundreds of consumers have needed to replace this part, they finally use proper material to replace it (with metal). Bande de crosseurs!

How many times did I have to watch the official Sears video in order to get this task accomplished? Many, many times. The Sears people want you to think this is a 30 minute OR LESS !! Job. So now I have a dishwasher rack with a new $50 height adjuster part…but that part was installed toward the front, not the back. Yes, the speedy instructions leave out a lot of details that this guy Phil is careful to articulate and emphasize. So I’m going to be taking everything off, then reinstalling it, using this excellent guide. Thank you Phil. Sears and the the other appliance manufacturers need to put you on the payroll. 👋🏻

Interestingly, my washer and his washer was a bit different. His was older (mine has no handle bar) but all of the components were identical. Even the box and what the box said with the label “adjuster” was identical. Probably one of the best tutorials and I was able to replace both sides within 20 minutes. If I had to do it all over again, it would’ve been a five minute job due to this tutorial. I just like to go over my steps and repeat the video over and over again to make sure I don’t make mistakes. It’s a super helpful video.

I wish I would have found your video first! I was helping my dad replace the adjuster kit based on some other videos, including the video Sears had on their replacement parts website. We got confused because none of the shots were close up. Then I found your video! The close-up shots were so helpful, and you were the only one who mentioned what the torque bit was. Needless to say, we were able to complete the first side and the second side was assembled quickly! I think Sears/Whirlpool should use your video as the tutorial to use! Thank you!

I got this dishwasher thinking Kenmore has been around for a long time from Sears and they aren't going anywhere, I wanted to keep the kitchen on the same brand. Well, after talking to the offshore DIY support team 3 times, I finally got the right parts to fix the dishwasher thanks to this "onshore" tutorial video. Tutorial was great and exactly fits these types of top rack dishwashers manufactured by these companies. Sears was great, but now it's time to move on, especially because they have a support which is as cheap as possible for them which translates to hoping that you will get the right part eventually and then figure out how to install it yourself because Sears now sends customers to another provider to care about their issues. I don't know about you but this has been my experience.

Awesome tutorial! If I could give 2 thumbs up, you'd get them. Clear, concise, and even after I made a mistake it was clear to see where I went wrong. Sears definitely should put a manual in this kit.

You do this with a mind toward the average person. They way you note and show to look at the "anatomy" is very understanding of the "average" mind when doing this kind of thing. You make it easy when "others" assume certain things they don't even realize they are assuming...

Gotta agree with all the rest, this video is the best. Was able to install the new hardware in around 30 minutes but with out this video not sure I ever would have gotten it done. The new parts are completely different so there was no reference taking it apart on how to put on the new ones. Thanks Phil, you saved me probably $200-300 by not have a service call on my out of warranty dw.
