I really appreciate all the work you put into these videos. Honestly I thought I understood pathfinder since I played a campaign with some friends in the tabletop but I've learned more about combinations and builds from watching your videos than in thay entire campaign!

@12:28 That's a strong power from the Succubus aspect, but I think it prevents Inspiring Command. On my last Angel run towards the end whenever Sosiel used it my log said my whole party was immune to compulsion effects so the team got no benefit.
There's a lot of great tips and suggestions in this. It sounds like taking the mythic Polymorph ability would synergize really well with all of this.
You are correct in that Inspiring Command for some reason is blocked my mind-affecting immunity despite being a beneficial effect. I have already reported it as a bug, perhaps it will be fixed soon.
The solution for most cases is to cast it before you get immunity, but in the case of Angel it's not possible because their Halo gives permanent immunity.
And yeah, a Demon Shapeshifter can be very fun with that ability, which is why I have just posted my Build Guide for it here, hope you like it!

Abyssal skin gives a NA enhancement bonus to AC. At least, it does in the beta, I don't know if that's a bug or intended.

This is actually true, it can give up to +7 non stacking Natural AC which does help because it is still +2 over Barkskin.
Unfortunately it can be very easy to miss because it doesn't say anything about it in the spell description!
I would agree demonic charge is great for vital strike, and spellcasters too, but even for full attack action characters, it has its place. It can deal with elevation and barriers easily, and triggers no AoO, and its some extra damage if you would have to move anyway.
Yeah, it's perfect for Vital Strike and can still have some useful when it comes to battle movement, especially hard to reach enemies.
Wait a minute. Aspect of Omox makes all attacks grapple. Grapple is a combat maneuver. So combined with the free attack on every combat maneuver this should be extremely potent, unless it does not work as it should.

By the way, I noticed the level 4 demon mythic spell "teleport" has a move action casting time, instead of the typical standard action for most spells. I still don't think the spell is great, but it it does have some utility, as you can move basically anywhere on the screen as a move action. It would actually synergize reasonably well with abyssal storm. You could teleport away from your party and then unleash the storm.

If you build a Sohei / Fighter (ideally Mutation Warrior) you can get up to 18 attacks in marilith form (12 + 2 Flurry of Blows + 2 Hammer of Masterpiece + 1 Pazuzu + 1 Haste.) You can also take Pummeling Style + Pummeling Bully, which will work with your chosen weapon and attempt a Trip maneuver for free every time you land an attack. Very good with the aspect of Kalavakus.

So I'm seeing a lot of potential for a Skald Demon build here. Just have a more melee focused party, and share the rage with them.
Yeah, Skald is such a solid class that you really can't go wrong with it no matter your Mythic, but I would prefer either Trickster or Demon indeed!
I'm thinking of releasing another Skald Guide but this time with both a ranged and 2H build instead of just dual wielding to show how capable and versatile they can truly be.

Hehe, it can be fun to play a Demon like that, but I believe the maximum you can be as far as good aligned demon is Chaotic Good.
Anything Lawful (or out of the Demon alignment range which is Neutral and any Chaotic) will block you from progressing the character's Mythic Quests, I believe, until you get back to the required alignments, and respeccing will always put your character into the alignment range.

I tried a demon run with vanila barbarian. I gotta say it was a blast. I rolled through hard difficulty until act V and at the beginning of act V, I switched to unfair because it was too easy. For those who don't know barbarian rage stacks with demonic rage. This is really funny since barb rae is +4 dmg atk and reckless stance / inspire ferocity is +6 to all companions. I was surprised how broken this combo is. I beated the entire Enigma + Areshkagal fight on unfair WITHOUT domain support!!! No guarded hearth, no visions of madness no nobility domain, none of that stuff. Just pure savegry haha
Yeah, Barb Boosts + Demon Rage can really be powerful later on!
@@cRPGBro It is also the aspect of nocticula given to my Camellia. With nature spirit and elemental barrage dual wielding rapiers she is doing like 700-900 damage per round and criticals happen a lot which unleashes the seize the moment stuff. Nature spirit gives thundering property which is very rare bonus. Sonic damage is rare and getting it on both weapons + her elemental enchants is just too much

@@cRPGBro What I love about your builds is that you are not obsessed with dipping and you consistently show single class can work on Hard/Unfair instead of dipping multiple times.
Small thing you overlooked: if you have both Aspect of Omox and of Kalavakus... every attack of yours becomes a Battle Maneuver, so if you pump the dc high enough, and the enemy fails the save, you gain a free attack which will be? Correct... another attempt at grappling. Mix it on a sprinted charge with pounce, add Transformation with a BFT, multiple buffs, and you potentially have infinite attacks at the same extent of a trip demon kineticist

I take it your opinion of the demon mythic path has improved? I think its actually one of the more fun mythic paths. I wouldnt generally say its the best option, but its competitive even if limited by demonic rage charges. Up to 5 full fights per rest really isnt that bad though, and with the right aspects its extremely powerful. Some of the effects are very powerful and rare like incorporeal and standard actions converted to move actions, and blanket enchantment and fear immunity.
It has indeed! Although personally I'm still somewhat turned off by the Rage/Day limits when most other mythics don't have to suffer through this.
But frankly, Aspect of Kalavakus alone is so powerful that it can completely shift everything in your favor.
And the extra +DC or melee boosts you can get are also very neat.

I think it is worth mentioning that if you have barbarian rage powers they also activate with your demonic rage, so you can use fiend totem and the bite rage power for 2 extra attacks

I often leave Rage Powers for my Skald, but that can certainly be fun with class that has actual Rage as well.
Unfortunately, the baseline hit and damage bonuses dont stack, and demonic rage deactivates the rage/bloodrage and causes fatigue. Its definitely not a good combo.
@@notalefty999 Bloodrage and Demon Rage have been patched to stack with each other for a long time now
@@nirvaanchowdhury5414 No I tried it a few weeks ago, neither barbarian nor bloodrage stacks. The secondary effects of rage might trigger, but the actual hit and damage bonus doesnt, and you do cancel the rage and fatigue yourself. This was with the endless rage mythic ability. If the most recent patch fixed it, great, but it definitely was fixed a long time ago.

Hey, random thought: if you share your Demonic Rage and all the aspects with your party members through the Aspect of Nocticula, do the various aspect from different companions stack?
Aspect of Nocticula is a free action, right? So at the beginning of combat you should be able to give it to every party member and even pets. If the effects stack, something like Aspect of Succubus would give enemies a massive penalty up to -18 just from companions without pets.
Aspect of Nocticula is a Free Action but we are limited to one cast per rage, so we can only affect one ally.
I tried to see if this could result in twice the debuff aura from some of the Aspects, but was not able to get it working, Succubus for example applied only once.
I'm envisioning a demonslayer shield bashing ranger with the demon mythic path now. Definitely a contrast to my typical Aeon builds, but it'll be a breath of fresh air for me.

Of the Mythic Paths you have played so far, which has been your favourite? Also it seems you have done Trickster, Angel, Azata, Demon and Lich guides so it is probably safe to assume Aeon is next? Would be good timing too with the new visual changes.
Gameplay wise, I really favor casters, so Lich & Angel have been my favorite, but mostly Angel because it was my third run as opposed to Lich who was my first, so I really knew a lot more about the game with Angel which led to more interesting and smooth gameplay, I think. I really want to revisit Lich later on for this reason.
I think as far as an enjoyment: Angel = Lich > Trickster > Azata > Demon.
I do think Demon has the highest potential of them all as far as DC & melee damage, but I really don't like the limitation of Rages/Day issue it has.
For most of the game, you'll only have 3/day Rage.
Aeon is certainly coming next, but I am waiting for patch 1.2 to come out first as to enjoy the improvements before I get into my Aeon run.
In the end, I also believe Angel has probably the smoothest gameplay and progression of them all, because you get extremely powerful defensive buffs AND your AoE spells are also more powerful than Lich. So the best for new players too.

Question. Aspect of Amox causes all attacks and abilities to grapple. Isn't grapple a combat maneuver? Wouldn't this work with Aspect of Kalavakus to trigger a free attack?

Brimorak and colloxus I would imagine are amazing for kineticist, havent had the chance to test if it works as intended.
Unfortunately from what I have tested, the move action from Colloxus doesn't work for blasts, and I was also not able to notice any difference in Blast damage from Brimorak.
@@cRPGBro Well that's disappointing. Doesnt work for vital strike either, which I think I have mentioned. Its a bit odd given the description, whereas both of these work with Zippy magic, and its description specifically mentions spells.
@@notalefty999 Yeah, I imagine it's one of those things they have to either fix or change the description.
I would have preferred if Zippy Magic for example was updated to work with spell like abilities like Kineticist Blast which makes sense, and only removed for physical abilities like Vital Strike.

I did really keep both Sosiel and Seelah, they're too useful party members haha.
I would say aspect of the succubus is the most generally useful lesser aspect. It debuffs will saves (and AC contrary to description), buffs the entire party's saves and AB, and blanket immunity to a huge range of annoying CC. I dont really see why you would ever take schir over this one.
Aspect of the Succubus is indeed very powerful because of the compulsion immunity to all party members.
Schir is just something to consider if you want more Charge damage, because it does give you the Powerful Charge feature, but considering Succubus can even debuff AC too, then it's indeed always a solid choice besides Kalavakus for never ending free attacks.
@@cRPGBro True, I personally dont use mercs, and wouldnt want to play a skald, and without pounce, and with the clunkiness of charge once in combat (you cannot activate rage outside combat), I personally dont like the playstyle, but charge mechanics can certainly produce massive damage.
Does Aspect of the Shadow Demon make your melee attacks "touch attacks"? Meaning they hit touch AC instead of normal AC? Because that would be crazy OP. 15:40
Unfortunately, it does not, same for Angel spell Sun Form.
I have tested it and even when Unarmed, your melee hits were still not hitting as Touch Attacks.
This might be a dumb question, but is it possible to storywise go with the demon mythic path without being evil? What I'm thinking of is some sort of situation where you have a character that decides to use the powers available to them in a pragmatic sense to fight their enemies, even though the powers come from a questionable source. But then not going full murderhobo and gleefully bathing in rivers of blood.
I just think it would be cool storywise if there was an option to willingly choose to use these demonic powers, but in a way where you're actively trying to harness them for the greater good and not turning into a chaotic and inhumane rage monster that's just as bad as the demons you're fighting. Probably asking too much for such a niche path to be included like a good or neutral demon, I assume you will sooner or later have to do some really evil shit in order to keep progressing down the demon path.
Demon can actually be both Chaotic Good and also Chaotic Neutral Alignment.
However, picking the Demon options in dialogue all change your alignment to Evil by some amounts.
But in most cases, you don't have to pick the Demon options to progress, you can just go with Good or Neutral Options.

Just a couple of things regarding demon stuff i gathered durring my runs and in beta 1.2 patch:
1.Demonic rage will increase caster level for 2/3/4 and 5 if you wear demon mythic cloak, this is solid for blaster demon as demon spells don't have limit on cl and scale past cl 20.
2. Abyssal skin gives a natural armor enhancement bonus to AC and unlike stoneskin, the dmg absortion goes past 150. Best way to use this spell is with demonic rage, as you can get up to 9 NA enhancement bonus with demonic cloak and it will persist after dmg gets absorved, so best way is to use a quicken rod for free ac.
3.Demon mythic cloak in beta works now past limit, so it will give you +1 bonus to all demonic rage buff as well as minor aspect buffs, the major aspect will only gain +1 to stat so it isn't good for them.
4. Devour spell is best used with vrock minor aspect, as it makes it ranged touch attack and with Brimorak aspect you can deal big dmg as long as they fail the save. With grandmaster rod, i've dealt 1k dmg with it when they fail the save and that spell will crit for 3x if you roll 20, so you can deal 3k dmg with it on lucky rolls.

I've yet to try beta patch 1.2 because it really killed performance for me, so I'm waiting for the full release.
It is good to hear that Demon Rage powers can be increased even further with the Cloak now, as it was rather useless before since we easily reached the cap of 10 by the time we could get it at Chapter 5.
I just realized Abyssal Skin CAN indeed give you a big boost to normal Natural AC, which I forgot about as it's not stated on the description for such an important part of the spell!
I really enjoyed the guide. I appreciate you talking about every spell and hovering over them for a while so we could read it.
It's very disappointing the developers haven't done anything to address potentially abusive charge mechanics. There's a whole bunch of ways to augment charge attacks through items, feats, mythic powers, etc. And for the most part all of them are balanced....... until you throw "pounce" into the equation.
I think it's safe to say the developers didn't intend for spirited charge, mythic charge, kalavakus charge, etc to trigger with every attack on a pounce charge. All of that stuff should trigger only for the first attack, it's just common sense. Unfortunately it's a mechanical bug/exploit so it probably won't get fixed anytime soon.
For the record, I'm not trying to call anyone out from cheesing the various charge abilities, it looks like a great way too even the odds against unfair difficulty.
If anyone is interested, there is a fantastic mod called tabletop tweaks, which adds a lot of missing content from the PnP game and original module. Most importantly though, there are dozens of bug/exploit fixes to the base game. One of these fixes limits all of the various charge features to a single activation per round. They also fixed the covenant of the inheritor belt item from act 1 to stay activated permanently; so you no longer need to reactivate it every time there's a load screen. If owlcat had even one programmer that was of the same caliber as the table top tweaks mod team, the game would be bug free by now.

Yeah, I understand that Pounce when combined with all of the Charge enhancing abilities probably should not work on ALL of your attacks, considering how insane it can be!
I believe at the moment we also have some sources of damage that are added multiple times on every hit even as far as secondary sources of damage.
@@cRPGBro Secondary damage sources are a complete mess. You get secondary damage sources stacking on top of other secondary damage sources which are stacked on other secondary damage sources, ad infinitum.
It's just so happens one of my favorite mods fixes a lot of the secondary damage stacking. When it comes to broken game mechanics, the table top tweaks mod bug fixes are more impactful than every official patch combined.
What would you suggest for a demon character focused on a lot of & strong natural attacks?🤔
I'm actually planning on releasing a Demon Build with a Natural Attack (Bite) Focus!
This one won't be a Shapeshiter, but rather focused on the natural attacks while in human form.
I can give you some tips but it does actually require lots of multiclassing for once:
Motherless TIefling for +1 Bite
1 Level into Oracle with Wolf Scarred Curse +1 Bite
1 Level into Bloodrager with Serpent Bloodline for +1 Bite
Most levels into Mutation Warrior for +1 Bite, Weapon Training Natural Attack and +STR from Mutagen.
A Skald ally for another +1 Bite through Animal Fury!

My main and probably only gripe with demon mythic path is the lack of tools to handle conceilment. We don't get thoughtsense, we don't get echolocation, we don't get blindsight in any form... If we play a character that doesn't have those things we might be in trouble!
Yeah, that can be a bit annoying, but the good thing is it's also something that can be achieved through other party members like Skald, Brown Fur, or if you just want True Seeing, any Cleric/Oracle!
@@cRPGBro That's what I thought, until I realized the difference between blindsense and blindsight. Blindsense (scent power from skald) is almsot worthless. It just bypasses perception check and helps you localize which square is the monster in, however you still get the concealment miss chance. Blindsight however bypasses all types of conc. It is easily the strongest property in the game and by far the rarest. Echolocation thoughtsense instinctual barbarian level 18. These are about the only ways you have access to blindsight. True seeing bypasses only illusion based conc. like displacement. Natural darkness and other sources of total concealment are unaffected by true seeing. And even if you waste 3 feats to get the greater blind fight, you still roll twice on 20%, which is still a significant miss chance... I guess greater blindfight with fortune hex is the way to go, but that still costs 3 feats :( This is one of the reasons why eldritch knight is so strong. You get access to echolocation and the prestige class itself is full BaB. Not to mention the spell critical :) But all those fighters and barbarians are up for a miserable experience lategame :D
Do you know if vrock's reach effect works on kinetic blade?
I don't think so.
I just tried it and while Enlarged, I only attacked from the reach I gained from the size increase.

Doesn't the mythic ability 'limitless rage' seem like an obvious choice here, Sounds like it was made for the demon path?
Limitless Rage will only work with the normal Rage ability that you can get from certain classes like Barbarian.
It won't work for Demonic Rage, unfortunately!
is it possible to make a demon with two-handed great axe?
It sure is!
Most Greataxes don't have the best criticals, but they have high damage and some got pretty nice effects too!
Does the demon spellbook have arcane failure?
I have done some testings and I don't believe it has, unlike Trickster.
I tried with a full plate clad Cavalier and was still casting the Demon Spells just fine.
Does Demonic Rage stack with Bloodrager rage?
It stacks as far as the benefits, but the uses/day counter is different.

And best part is even if it's nerfed to the ground we still have enough damage to kill anything on Unfair 10 times over haha.
Even if you reduce it by 1/10 it's still more than enough to one shot even Demon Lords!

Funny that Seelah will leave you on Lich, but still stay on Demon, unless you choose a certain Mythic option later on as I show here:
