    You can do some really fun things with Elemental Specialist if you combine that with a Sorcerer, namely the Crossblooded. If you pick both Red and Gold dragon, you get a total of +2 damage for every dice on all spells with the Fire descriptor. Then for a Mythic ability you can go with a additional bloodline, and then pick the Brass dragon. Viola! You now get +3 damage on every single dice roll for fire spells. That means that a single Fireball at CL 10 will deal a whole 30 damage on top of the regular. But wait, there's more!
    If you go with the Demon path you can pick the Brimorak Aspect, which gives a additional +2 damage on all dice rolls, which means that Fireball we just mentioned now deals extra 50 damage. And for shits and giggles, let's add Bolster Spell into the mix, which adds another two, which gives us in total a whooping +7 damage for every single dice. And with Focused Element from the class all damage is converted into Fire damage, so like you mentioned in the video it can be combined with Ascended Element for some really fun shenanigans. What makes this even better still is that there are many items in the game that boost Fire damage, like Ring of Pyromania or Mallander's Insult.
    Shit's bonkers.

    Personally, I like Demonslayer the most. Given how 90 percent of the enemies in the game are demons and only 10 percent are cultists, investing time into this build are worth it. Arusheale is good too with Espionage Expert, but she doesn't get an animal companion unlike Demonslayer.

      Give her the Triceratops Statuette, and problem solved. That item can summon you a Triceratops companion, if you doesn't have any - and it's level always the same as it's summoner's. Except it's a pre-built pet, so you cannot control it's level up improvements...

    Cavalier of the paw dex build is my favorite, it takes a couple of levels before it’s amazing as you have to do all the dex combat feats, but when paired with mounted combat your animal companion is never hit as your mobility score is insane. Paired with all the tactician feats and if you use a mythic feat to have dex apply to weapon rolls redgardless of your other hand is holding then you can dual weild on top of a mounts attacks.

    Elemental Specialists do have a something they give up, and it's actually pretty big -- they get 3 opposition schools instead of 2. If you're 100% focused into blasting and have zero intention to do anything else, it's no big deal. But if you want even a sliver of fexibility, 3 opposition schools is a big problem.

    I used a SS mercenary playing through as a trickster. It was just utterly insane with all the extra crit feats, especially with the trickster spell that makes all rolls 20s for 3 turns. (But even without it...) It was also amazing each time an enemy triggered an attack of opportunity, got killed, then triggered the great cleave eliminating every enemy in melee range.

  • @jamesf2811

    -Hunters are great! I typically go divine hunter because I like making my pet celestial. One thing I don't think you mentioned is that Hunters are spontaneous casters so you don't have to worry about whether you used a spell slot for a heal, buff or restoration.
    -I get kineticists now. I wanted to love them so much but they seemed bland up until maybe a month ago. I didn't quite get the gather power and infusions until now and wow, are they amazing!
    -My other favorite is a Half Orc great axe rowdy. At level 6, I sneak attacked something for 99 damage! For comparison, my other high damage classes do: 30-40 for kineticist, and the same rowdy with a crossbow does 40-50
    -I rerolled my cleric to a wildland shaman and it seems cool enough to have and orc riding a boar. It is early and while it is better than a cleric, it doesn't seem like I wouldn't have been better off with another hunter.
    -2 dip witch of the veil is great for concealment. I may try that again with a mutation warrior or just go straight mutation warrior.
    -Sword Saint is another of those classes I need to revisit since I have never gotten why they are so powerful. Although, if I 2 dip into witch of the veil, that might be interesting.
    -I am so glad they finally released the rogue like DLC. It really is the way I've wanted to play the game since launch.

    If you want something like the Elemental Wizard but as a spontaneous caster, Sorcerer with any of the Elemental bloodlines would be the way to go as their bloodline arcana grants that energy substitution ability at-will. Plus this can be combined with Overwhelming Mage for the spell penetration benefits.

    • @TheElduin

      Is sorcerer a beginner friendly class in WotR? I’m interested in playing a spontaneous caster but I’m unsure which archetype to pick. Some context, I’ve played Baldur’s Gate and Pillars of Eternity, but both games as a Paladin. I wanted to try something different and make a gish character this time around

    • @MrValvoja
      @MrValvoja 2 роки тому +4

      @@TheElduin Arguably more beginner friendly than the wizard, as you just pick what spells you know on level up and can then cast them as you wish. Since the wizard needs to say "1 casting of mage armor, two magic missiles, and one grease" every morning, you can't just spontaneously spend all your resources on grease if the need comes up. The sorc also gets more spells per day at the cost of 1 level slower spell progression.

    • @jackakimbo5718
      @jackakimbo5718 2 роки тому +2

      @@TheElduin you do need to know a bit of what spells are good and what to avoid as a sorcerer, since unlike a wizard you can only ever get the spells you get to select on level up. But as long as you don't end up picking a spellbook full of poor spells, the rest of the package is probably more beginner friendly and less to manage than wizards once you get blasting.
      Though if you want a gish, one of the magus subclasses would basically give you that right out of the gate. Eldritch Scion would also be a spontaneous caster

      There is a mod in Kingmaker and Wotr that put every weapon in a type group. Meaning if you take weapon focus on Elven Curved Blade (as excample) it instead let you pick the type group that in this excample would be Heavy Blades. Meaning you are specialised in all weapons for that type. Longsword, Two Handed Weapon, Scimitar, etc.
      It's called Weapon Focus Plus. Available on Nexus.

      Kingmaker seemed to like bunching all of the gear for certain classes at different parts of the game. There was a ton of great magus scimitars, but almost all of them were in Pitax. I played a Wizard, and I only found robes and staffs that I could use in Vordekai's tomb, and then it gave me 3 sets of robes and 4 staffs. Hoping WoTR doesn't do this too once it comes out on consoles.

    Another thing to consider with Brown Fur (and all Arcanists) is that with DLC3, any Arcanist PC or Companion who can get at least 17 (but 20 is better) caster levels can cast 24 hour round/level spells, regardless of Mythic Path. It's practical value is not very high, but people go nuts over making things like that "technically" work.
    You get 3 caster levels for the new robes, and another 2 to ANY Arcanist Spell by using the Arcanist Exploit to increase CL. Which is enough on its own at level 20 to 24 hour any spell cast from your Arcanist Spellbook. There's a headband that add +1 CL and you can take Spell Specialization in a specific spell for another +2 CL -- but then you're limited to only that one spell and you need Spell Focus in the corresponding school to take Specialization.

    Having played a hunter in a pathfinder campaign it definitely is limited in wrath of the righteous. One of the animal focuses in the ttrpg is mouse which gives evasion and at 12th level improved evasion. Which in the ttrpg is pretty good and if it were implemented in wrath would've made base hunter a bit more appealing. Another thing I'm not sure if it's the same in wrath as I haven't played ranger or druid in it yet but in the tabletop a hunter has access to both ranger and druid spells and if a spell is shared it takes it at the lower level. Rangers tend to get some spells at lower spell levels than druids I believe to compensate how late they have access to spells. The teamwork feats automatically being shared between you and your animal companion as well as acting as bonus feats provides a wide range for customization possibilities.
    I know this post is a bit long but I just really like the class. Although I wish they'd add the other 3 elemental races (sylph, Undine, and ifreet) as well as at least the Undine's watersinger bard subclass.

  • @swordarmstudios6052
    @swordarmstudios6052 2 роки тому +2

    The Sacred Hunter is one I really should have looked at. I play a Sacred Huntsmaster, mostly because I'm playing an Azata with the Friendship super power, and beaming all your teamwork feats to your team is really strong. When I critical something my entire team will just dumpster it - then I focus my entire team into critical buffs, and stuff that increases attacks of opportunity - and they do hilarious amounts of damage very quickly. Still relies a bit on crit RNG, but that isn't terrible when you got lots of attacks near the end game.
    I do back her up with a Swordsaint, with a unique Estoc that with feats gets her crit range to like 14 to 20. With Haste your almost guaranteed at least one critical a turn - a crit that also triggers attacks of opportunies from everyone else via team work feats. It's a build I'm very happy with haha.
    So I'm pretty much locked into something with lots of teamwork feats.
    That being said - I really like Bane as well - But judgement might be better because you can hotswap your bonuses based on need ... I'll need to think about this.

If you take a rage power before going into demon dancer you can apply an additional totem and get 2 addtional bite attacks for your entire party, including your mounts and summons, as soon as level 4. Just don't pick up Ivu. Since a round out of combat takes only a second he will get something like 20d6 damage every second.

    Divine Hunter can be insanely fun. I recommend taking domain zealot for swift domain powers, with madness and luck domains, and say one other domain that has a decent buff (such as community or good). If you can't hit the enemies (such as for bosses), you can put your celestial-template infinitely-smiting pet on them, while you cast two domain buffs per round on your pet, for anything up to +18 to hit (madness + good domain), and/or a luck effect. The pet smite is already raising the damage of every attack by +20 by level 20, and that also applies to damage from various proc effects like acid maw and claws of the sacred beast gloves. Because you also get the domain spells as full class spells (which even most clerics don't get, since they can only put their domain spells in their domain slots), you can gain access to some oddly useful things not normally available to a hunter, such as divine power (via war or glory) or true strike (via luck or destruction). If there's still a spell you want but can't take through a domain, you are a caster so can dip loremaster for a level to pick it up. Extremely versatile class, can be a decent damage dealer, good support via spells and the domain powers, and totally competent tank (via its pet). If it wasn't for the fact you only get to caster L6, I'd say you could solo the game with it.

Magus specialty must be melee. Via shared spell books, it is possible to prepare shock touch into warpriest book. It makes spell quickened if it has any other metamagic added, but it will be delivered with full attack, then you can cast magus version and make another full attack. In vanilla it need legend to be viable , too low of a level on base classes on any other MP. Like 4 magus and 4 warpriest with some number of mystical theurge to get shared spell books. Of course it needs to get two mental stats pretty high. But still it’s incredibly cool. Like magic blender making about 13 attacks per round with some spells weaved in.
    My fav is sword saint with if I recall correctly faith protector , warpriest spec with smite. Holy hell it transforms enemy into pile of red goo. Probably a bug on how fervour is used with touch spells but still. BTW used without other metamagic, it will target your own character.

    Just put 4 levels into it and you get better intimidation (can cause terror and shaken), 2 sneak attacks, Debilitating injury, 2 Rogue Talents, Finesse Training, Weapon Finesse, Brutal Beating, Evasion, and Uncanny Dodge. Also, you get a lot of skill points.

    I wish every Sword Saint build would mention the key method for making spell combat work - if you wield a weapon with one hand you have to also turn on the “Use One Handed” ability or spell combat is not going to work like you think it will.
    Also, never underestimate the hilarious(?) amount of fun that Zippy Magic + Brown Fur Transmuter is. Your target + one other random friendly gets whatever buff you use so it can be a fun bit of roulette to see who gets to be Dragons today.

    Divine Hunter (Hunter Archetype) gets my vote. It's the only spontaneous casting class that gets to add Cleric Domain spells to its spellbook.
    So if you combine this with Trickster and Religion tier 3 you can add up to 5 additional spells to your spellbook without having to pick up impossible domain ❤ + you get to use the domain abilities like Guarded Heath and Aura of Heroism AND cast the 7-8-9 level spells as spell-like abilities.
    Other classes that get my vote:
    - Deliverer (Slayer) (a really good class for Seelah to dip into imo)
    - Divine Scion (Paladin) (really strong with reach weapons)
    - Emphyreal Sorcerer (Sorc) (can channel energy to heal allies)
    - Leyline Guardian (Witch) (probably the best class for a Winter Witch)

      Really not worth imho. Level 20 ability is too powerfull to loose(for a class that specializes in crits). Plus you get slower main class progression that cuts your damage progression(and slower ac scale from canny defense early). Plus your selfbuffs will have lower duration. Considering you can tank playfull darkness(with ice body scroll) without monk splash and defensive stance on hard its simply unneeded on anything lower than unfair(and on unfair its simply better to summon swarm him).

    I recommend playing a draconic sorcerer into dragon disciple. Not because it's good, or because it's fun, but because I am very biased.
    (More seriously, I do like sorcerer/dragon disciples a lot, but switch-hitter Alchemists - high strength, grenadier archetype and infusions, just do everything in the class - have been one of the most fun for me for about as long as it's existed. Also the Battle Oracle. You might notice a theme.)

    • @jonasfree2
      @jonasfree2 2 роки тому

      May I recommend for you my MUSCLE WIZARD build? You start an Orc as a Hagbound Witch, and give him 20 strength at start. Hagbound starts with permanent claws and you can get a bite attack from a feat as an orc, so you start the game with 3 attacks at +5, then you are gonna want a dip in a spontaneous caster class (I went with Steelheart Bloodrager, cuz it gets you free heavy armor feat) so that once you have the stats you can grab 4 levels of dragon disciple. Rest of the levels you just keep going Hagbound. Oh and make sure you take the demon option for your first mythic, that gets you a gore attack.
      What all this means is you have 5 natural attacks (2 claws, the orc bite, the dragon bite, and the gore...you might be able to go for 6 if your dip was a sorceror and you spent a mythic to get serpentine and took the mythic that gets you the level 20 perk of that? Though at that point you're burning two mythic abilities for a extra attack.) and a MASSIVE strength bonus. Every like, 3 levels of Hagbound gives +2 strength, the four levels of DD gives +4, and eventually you can get spells like Transformation.
      Plus you can throw on the mythic that gives natural attacks (i.e. all of your attacks) DR ignoring as well as the one that lets you always do your strength bonus in damage. You can easily get to a point of doing AT MINIMUM 50 damage per round.
      It would probably sync up best with the Demon mythic, but I went Azata with him and HOLY SHIT is it broken when you take the Superhuman Endurance or whatever power. You turn into a ridiculous, regenerating punch wizard, and it is GLORIOUS.

    • @jonasfree2
      @jonasfree2 2 роки тому

      I forgot that it also gets pretty radical Natural Armor buffs, you take a lizard familiar and the icebrand hex thing and that gives you +3, that ring at the starting tavern can boost that further, then you add on the DD natural armor and you can become VERY hard to kill.

      The question is - do you really need that many spells? What are you going to do with them? Isn`t it easier to ocassionally use a scroll if you want a spell from unavailable school? If your party doesn't have a domain user and you're deciding on whether to make Lann a Divine Hound or Sacred Huntsmaster then Sacred Huntsmaster is the way to go, but if you're using Sosiel or have another character with Domains then yeah Divine Hound is better for the reasons you said in the video.

      @@kvothefan5106 Main Character- Crowd Control Arcanist/Arcane Trickster, Monster Tactician Inquistior, Hunter 3/Cavalier, Sensei Monk, Ember going hard into evocation, Lann as Zen Archer 3/Freebooter Ranger.
      The concept behind my build was to capitalize on how things scale based on the number of characters. In the tabletop teamwork feats were in theory really strong, but no one ever took them in my experience because you had to convince your friend to take them unless you were an inquisitor and could use them by yourself. The summoner was really strong because they could use summon monster as a spell like ability and the summons could act on the same turn. The monster tactician just gets the spell like ability of the summoner and grants their teamwork feats to their summons which is really strong when it comes to outflank and seize the moment. The more attacks that happen the more chance someone will crit and the more attacks of opportunity come as a result. Throw in the destruction domain 8th level power and you auto confirm crits. There are also a lot of good summoning items in the game, the brazen whip gives all summons an extra attack but slows the wearer, but that can be counteracted with the freedom of movement boots, there is a spear that gives all summons sonic damage, a glaive that summons a demon when you kill someone which for some reason eventually started summoning the big demons with a bunch of arms and scimitars, ring that summons minotaurs, usable items that summon level draining demons, another that summons some really strong angels. In the prebuff phase getting all the summons out then casting haste on the whole party from my arcane caster makes things a little nutty. Summons are also really useful for 2 big things, being meat shields and casting spells. At higher levels the spells the get cast by them are really great and synergize with my arcanist ill talk about later.
      The Hunter/Cavalier works on the same concept, since while mounted you are always adjacent most teamwork feats work. So 3 levels of hunter grant your teamwork feats to your mount. So 3 levels isn't that big of a dip, but cavaliers get teamwork feats on while leveling so you never need your mount to take them. Pair that with a scimitar and go hard into crit. Also makes the summons get attacks of opportunity as I said before.
      Lann went freebooter ranger for freebooters bane and freebooters bond to buff all allies attack and damage rolls.
      Sensei monk for the Bardic songs and Mass True Strike. Which i'm not sure there is a way to get as a spellcaster unless widen spell works but i'm not sure. In addition to the combat stance mytic power (cant remember the name) but their job is just to stand there and buff everyone.
      Ember is there for fortune and protective luck spam during prebuff for boss fights, other than that uses the lighting gauntlets from blackwater to get all damage to be lightning then use Ascendant Element and nuke with her.
      Then there is my main character that I built to support the group through crowd control and the trickster mythic stuff. I went with Eldrich font Arcanist that specialized into conjuration early for stuff like selective webs/grease/pits, used the mythic thing that lets you use all your feats that apply to one school to another and went enchantment because they kind of cover each other. Most enemies that immune to mind effecting stuff probably can fall in a pit or get knocked prone and vise versa. Mind Fog is a ridiculous debuff spell that i always heighten to my highest spell slot because it lowers the enemies will saves against mind affecting effects by 10, that and best jokes and hideous laughter can disable an entire encounter to get swept by your damage dealers. Mind fog works amazingly with high level summons like the Bogeyman spamming their mind effecting spells. Hold monster/constricting coils synergizes well as well and if they have a pit next to them they fall in and then have to make 2 checks to do anything. I'm an arcane trickster just because I was already getting sneak attack from trickster so might as well get more since arcanist wouldn't give me a whole lot more until much later. If you use hold monster on an enemy and they fall in a hungry pit they take sneak attack damage each round when you get to level 10 arcane trickster, which is hilarious. Eventually I once again use the mytic ability to make all my illusion spells use my conjuration feats. The combo I have been doing lately impromptu sneak attack, then use Weird on enemies in mind fog, if they make their save and don't instantly die they take half damage plus sneak attack from the phantasmal killer. Trickster mythic stuff is great for getting more bonuses on items from the arcane lore stuff, but level 2 lore world makes all 1s that are rolled into 20s making more crits happen, but also making auto fails into auto hits is super useful in harder fights, especially because I roll a disproportionate amount of 1s for some reason.
      I know that was long and I'm sure I still missed some thing, but you get the idea.
