2024 Mazda CX-90 Touchscreen with Apple CarPlay on iOS 17

- One of the most exciting features of recent years is the Touchscreen availability on the Mazda 7th generation infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It really was announced with the 2024 Mazda CX-90, but was also available on the some previous crossovers including the CX-50.
This defaults as standard when you pair your phone to wireless CarPlay. This adds a more comfortable and tradition use of smartphone connectivity on the Mazda vehicles. You can of course still use the commander control.
I also am using the Public Beta of iOS 17, there are a few new CarPlay features available with this software update.

i’ve put 1600 miles on my CX90 and have not touched the screen once. The dial is less distracting and doesn’t leave fingerprints all over the screen.
Touch screen is only on the 12” screen. The 10” screen on Preferred Plus does not have touch.
What a crock of s*$t. I have kids and intentionally picked the premium trim. I don't need napa leather. I'm fine not having 3D camera system, but this is absurd. Do we know if this is just software related or is the smaller screen not touch capable?
Most misleading video ever! The only trim that has touchscreen is the premium PLUS trim. He says it is available on trims with wireless which the premium trim has. I literally bought a CX-90 with premium trim because of this video saying I would have touchscreen in Apple car play. Now I’m stuck with it!
I am sorry. I originally thought it was will all wireless CarPlay vehicles, but now know it is just the 12.3” screens that allow touch.

Hi Jonathan, great video. I find on my 2023 CX-50 Preferred Plus that sometimes I have to try two or three times to get Android Auto to connect with my phone. I'll get the blue triangle and the message that my phone is connected through Android Auto, but when I engage it the screen goes back to showing is available to link, but not linked at the moment.
A bit-no actually *very*-misleading to say “the CX 90 has touchscreen!” when actually it’s only the top 1 or 2 models that have it.
Do the Apple Maps integrate with the heads up display?
I have the premium trim of the cx-90. How do I do touchscreen?
Does the basic model have wireless apple carplay or touch screen
Is this the turbo premium or premium plus? I tried doing this on premium and it wasn’t touch. But I also haven’t updated to ios17. Can this be why?
The touchscreen function is also available on the wired connection trims for 2024 as my new 2024 CX-5 Carbon Edition works as a touchscreen using Apple CarPlay, but I actually still prefer using the dial remote as I don’t get the screen all full of fingerprints and I prefer the dial remote for speed and accuracy while driving.

Nope! I have a 2024 CX 90 and just tried to follow steps in this video and I do not have wireless OR touchscreen apple play
I have put 2,000 miles on my new Cx-50 in the past month and a half. Though I turned on the touch screen option, I really don't use it.. The Dial is much better while keeping my eyes where they need to be.
That’s awesome! I still use the knob more also. Maybe use the touch if I’m at a stop, but more convenient to use the knob
I have the preferred plus 2024 Cx90 and I don’t mind not having touch screen I hardly ever used ts in my Lexus es350 but usually every car has ts so idk Mazda lol🤷♀️
So question now becomes what after market part can you buy to replace the 10inch screen to enable touchscreen capabilities? So silly that Mazda doesn’t have touchscreen in all its trims in 2024!!!!

Does CarPlay stay touchscreen when shifting the CX-90 into drive and driving? I lose all CarPlay touchscreen functionality on my CX-50 when I’m driving, even when stopped at a traffic light.

@@BrianDIYChannelonly the premium plus PHEV with the 12.3” screen supports touch. Very subtle gotcha on these CX-90’s!
All apple maps are pre-programmed to go to Chick-fil-A when you open app😂

So this means I need a mobile phone and even a smartphone in order to access the functionality. well I told my wife and she said: then let's buy something else. They cannot force you to have a mobile or bein handicapped.
