@@stephenbay9564 That's really interesting. It would be impossible for me to test every car from every model year..so I'm glad you gave these a shot. My next videos really need to be a lot better researched!
This is to be expected. The CX5 rides on Mazda's older platform, similar to the CX9 and Mazda6. They likely don't have many of these niche features. The newer stuff is only found on newer models, notably CX-30, CX-50, Mazda3s and CX-90 and further on.
@@mikescardiaries For the record, I DID now try the "button on the shifter" (automatic) to see if it would stay in access mode, and it does. One thing you did not mention is the "proximity" unlock door handles. My 2007 Lexus ES350 had them on all four doors.....fast forward to 2021, and the best Mazda could do is give me a button to press on the door handle. I "heard" the newer (than '21's) have the proximity thing. If what that is is not clear, it means if the door is locked, you do NOTHING except bring your hand to, and through the handle....and the mere act of being that close to the handle triggers the unlock. Do you have that?
Just one more hidden feature. I’ve test drove the new 2024 CX-5, and all who have found the steering to be heavily weighted to steer. I have the perfect solution, Turn OFF the traction control. Now you can use 1 finger to drive your car in tight places. This is also true for my 2019 CX-3.

Some people on "CX70Forum" have the CX-60, and they're saying this does not work :( I'm sorry about that! Mazda should be adding this feature to this car, especially since it's so expensive - more expensive than my car!
I have the 2021 cx5. Can the car lock with the key fob inside the car. Just thinking what if I accidentally left key fob in car and manually locked the doors and got out.
I don't believe that's possible. If you have both key fobs on you, and you leave one in the car, you can still lock it from the outside, but it'll beep at you to let you know, "hey, your OTHER key fob is in the car" lol. Otherwise, if you only have one key fob with you, the car will NOT let you lock it inside the car.
Yes you can based off of information I read in my 2021 CX-9 manual. It said it depends on where you sit the key. I had no idea and literally read this today. I was looking for something in my book about my back doors locking from the inside where my passenger can’t get out until I unlock it.
I honestly couldn't tell you. Seems like there's a lot of variance, depending on the car, where it's from, the model year, etc. etc. etc. It would be impossible for me to know every combination
@@mikescardiaries oh no worries man, I actually got it figured out, need just the right timing like what you advised. haha I needed a little practice at first, thanks!!
I have a 2 year old manual Miata and none of these tips apply. By the way, drives me crazy when people lock cars and the indicators flash which is great, but do you need to have the horn sound as well?
No offence - but I really hope there is no way to do this. Please don't do this, it's dangerous. Unless you're doing it while not driving (in which case, just watch them on your phone instead). Have a good day!
A lot of those things don't work on models 2019-2022. I have a CX-30 2021 and it does not roll down the windows via key fob, it does not have touchscreen and so on.. But the key fob battery saving mode works fine, did this right after buying the car. Also, the mirror tilting works depending on a trim level, also a lot of thing are region dependant..
That's what I kind of realized after making this video..this seems to be specific to the Mazda 3 and some other vehicles..but as you said, it's also trim and year/model dependent.
@@mikescardiaries it‘s look like that. My old one of 2007 had this feature and it was perfect in summer to get the heat out of the car before getting in.
I don't know what car you have, and I really don't think this is possible either way. You can try to Google your specific vehicle, or check your owner's manual. If you figure it out, come back and leave a comment to help others out :)
Hey thanks for watching! It theoretically should work... What country are you in? I've been getting some reports that some functions don't work in some regions. Try it again..or try hold on the 3rd click (instead of the 4th like I mentioned in the video).
The 2021 US version of the Mazda 3 doesn't have the option to roll the windows down with your first tip. Trying to do that disabled my remote and the car was saying no key to even start the car.
Hey!! I'm so happy you found the video useful. I was really worried that the community would hate this content. At any rate, welcome to the manual 3 club! I'm sure you'll love the car :)
The turbo version is exactly like that, AWD 6 SPD automatic. Unfortunately many with the turbo would have wanted it to be manual. But it's pretty convenient to have it automatic, so I don't complain much as I have a manual car in which I can't be lazy when driving or do something else besides drive
Hey, thanks for your comment! You would have to give it a try as I wasn't able to test every Mazda model. Some people have commented that it doesn't work on theirs - so give it a shot :)
If you have a Mazda 3, I would try again. You have to get the timing just right (press the button quickly 4 times, then HOLD on the 4th press). Once the windows begin rolling down, you can also release anytime to open them half way, for example.
Honestly, I couldn't tell you. There are so many different models from different countries/segments that it would be impossible for anyone to know for sure. You'd have to try these out on your specific car to find out :)
I hope you like the lane assist popping back on everytime, the warnings when you exceed speeds etc. I find the whole thing sucks. It looks good parked.

I’ve had my 2024 CX5 Signature for a month now but there a few “ safety “ features I DON’T like : - the rear lift door cannot be opened when the vehicle is running. - if I turn off the engine , then open the rear hatch but then I want to open a rear passenger door I can’t. Why ? I would need to unlock ALL doors first. - and WHY is the sub woofer bolted to the spare tire ?!? In my 2018 Mazda 3 it was in the dash behind the screen display. The sound was truly amazing. ( 9 speakers ) The seat padding closest to each door is noticeably HARDER then the padding next to the hump. This is significant . I wish I had known this before. I know it’s because it’s on the enter / exit side of the seat BUT I need to sit myself PERFECTLY centre or my left hip feels like it’s sitting on a rock.
This is the same car I have. What region are you in? Maybe it's not available there? Select the left or right side, then just put your car in reverse. It should work this way 🙂
@@sanjibandas8718 It may also only be the higher trims..which one do you have? I'm not certain if it works for the GX or GS trims...let me know and report back!
On my 2023 Mazda3 manual transmission hatchback, you just press the start button twice without your foot on the brake pedal to turn on accessory mode for all controls without the motor running.
Yes, but you can't do this while the engine is running like you can with an automatic. In the automatic, you can go from having the engine on to accessory mode without having everything turned off in between, if that makes sense.
@@mikescardiariesIt makes perfect sense and I'm looking for this too. I sometimes like to fish listening to a podcast or whatever when I arrive at my destination and would be nice to be able to do it without keeping the engine on. Do let know if you find the solution.
You can, but you can't go from "engine on" to "accessory mode" directly. You have to first turn the engine off, then press the start button twice again to go in to accessory mode. In automatics, all you have to do is put the car into park, then simply turn the car off while holding down the gear selection button on the shift knob to keep accessory mode on.
I thought center screen auto dimming was broken. Apparently. Had to click buttons near dash cluster to highest brightness and then click one lower. It was “locked” in bright mode. weird unlabeled button would override the infotainment settings.
That's very interesting. Thanks for sharing that! If you check your owner's manual, I'm fairly certain it still does offer that, but check to make sure.
My wife wants to know how to remote start the car using the key fob. Right now it seems the only way to do it is with a paid subscription to Mazda connect and a smartphone. My daughter is 2012 Mazda could be started with the key fob.

@mikescardiaries España, Unión Europea. Imagino que con el paso de los años habrán ido añadiendo opciones. O según la región tendrán unas opciones y otras.
There is no need to click the button. Put it in your pocket and walk to the car and the side mirror with unfold, then hold the handle and the door will open. Also turn the car of when leaving with key fob in pocket and walk away the mirror will fold and the door is locked automatically.
Thanks for your comment, but I think you didn't listen to the video. I live here in Canada, and we don't have automatically folding side mirrors. They're manual only. For other people in other markets, yes this could work.
Regarding i-stop, or also known as engine shutdown at full stops, you can use a light pressure on brake pedal when stopped which will keep engine running. Press harder on the pedal when stopped and engine will shut down. You do not need to use the dash button to use this feature.
Despite the assertion on the still title screen “All 2019-2024 Mazdas”, my 2021 CX-5 Grand Touring has NONE of these functions. I think you ought to be specific to the model you have and any models you have actually verified these functions on. One more thing: the ONLY thing that is true on my car is the power save function on my fob -that worked. But NOW it won’t allow me to use the door unlock buttons. My other key fob works fine on the buttons, so I believe turning on this power save on a fob disables the proximity detection, disabling the door lock buttons. And I can’t seem to turn that back on. Hopefully removing and replacing the battery will do it. Thanks a lot dude. Stop giving bad advice.

I like it tho. You don’t need to be near the car to use it. With key fob remote start that I have used you kinda have to be in a distance where the car can detect the keys and you can’t have too many objects in between.
