Wife has been researching new SUVs to replace her odyssey that we couldn’t trust ever since a dealership fried some of the cameras and electronics… looked at Toyota, Honda pilot, another Toyota dealership and their grand Highlander. Didn’t like the prices nor being lowballed on our van. She watched over my shoulder watching this video must have done a little crash test ratings research and we went to just see what they were about not ever being on our radar…drove away with a mid tier 24 cx-90 pre owned with 600 miles and an additional 6 grand more in our trade then anyone else offered. Amazing driver. Love your Chanel Scotty.
I just got a great deal when trading my CRV. Interesting to see another person move from Honda to Mazda. The new Hondas are getting too expensive. The CRV EXL is close to the same price as a CX-90 base model (which has similar features but is bigger and better in my opinion).I’ve only driven 100 miles but no problems so far. I think they’ve fixed some prior issues with software updates by now.
WENT FROM A 2007 4RUNNER sport to a 2017 cx5, i dont think i can switch to another car company. Mazda is just an awesome car to drive, waiting for the 2025 cx5 to come out
I never considered buying Mazda before but my 20 yr old daughter was in the market for a new car and the CX-30 was just head and shoulders above anything else available in the price range. The build quality, paint, stunning interior, handling, safety ratings, insurance rates. It couldn't be beat. She absolutely loves it and I would consider buying the CX-90 for my next car.
‘It’s made in Japan, by Japanese people… that’s what you want.’ Totally agree. That’s why I bought a CX-5 three years ago. I can just see the young men showing up on time, doing a good job, with a good attitude, proud to make a great product. That concept is eroding away in this part of the world.
My wife has a 2019 Mazda cx5 we purchased new. Has been a great car and fun to drive.Mazda is so underrated. They still build their cars in Japan like other brands use to like Toyota, Nissan. They know how to build cars. The old Japanese built cars and trucks lasted forever. I’m definitely sold on Mazda.
I researched for a year on Honda and Toyota cars. Then one evening test drove a Mazda 3 2022, enjoyed it so much that I signed the docs and drove it home same evening.
Was never a Mazda fan until I drove a Miata. Now I have a 2020 Miata and almost 50K miles later the car hasn't needed anything besides the usual oil changes, tires, and brakes. My next one will be a CX-5 or CX-30. These are some of the most reliable and pleasurable cars to drive and they've really stepped it up with the aesthetics.
I was so impressed with my wife’s 2020 CX-9 driving dynamics, for a 3 row SUV it actually drives amazing and doesn’t make you feel dead inside, that I got myself a 2021 Mazda 6 as a daily driver and I am super happy. Every Mazda is the most fun car to drive in its class.
Very happy with my 2023 CX-5 in the Premium trim level. Above that is Premium Plus and then the three turbo trims. $35k was the sticker price and supply of the 2023's was very constrained back in Oct. 2022 so I paid it. No heads-up display until you get to Premium Plus. No regrets or problems as I am approaching 10,000 miles.
My first Mazda was a 1988 RX-7. Worst car I owned, but fun as hell. I went from BMW back to Mazda and bought a 2019 Mazda3 hatchback AWD. Love driving the thing. It's compact, handles great, and easy to drive on these awful layout New England roads. Could use a little more power, but it's still fun since I can use all the power often without endangering myself and everyone else.
Reviewers have raved about CX-90 ever since it’s launch because of its beautiful styling, excellent build quality and performance that punches into the class above while undercutting the competition by well over 10k usd. It’s quite simply a phenomenal car and now it seems like it’s getting a clean bill of health from Scotty in terms of reliability. It’s quite possibly the best 3 row SUV on the market today and I’d pick one up if I was in the market for one!
@@miketerry6036 well ofc that’s true. But usually he’s right about these things. Only time will tell with stuff like this but it has an under stressed engine and an 8 speed automatic. I’m sure mechanically it seems it would be pretty reliable. At least more reliable than German rivals.
My wife and I purchased this vehicle… beautiful, spacious, very fun to drive, and simply reliable. If your in the market, you will not be disappointed!
@@abdullasaad6517 The vehicle is a Mazda, it is designed with some sportiness in mind, which is the biggest draw to this vehicle for a lot of people. A sportier ride will ALWAYS be more stiff, it's a trade-off. The only option to have both a comfortable mode, and a sportier mode, utilizes an air ride or magnetic suspension, which significantly increases the cost (see BMW and Mercedes premium SUV's). This Mazda provides a lot of the characteristics of the sportier premium SUV's, but with some trade-offs for cost purposes. If someone wants the fanciest most capable and complex SUV they will have to pay for it at another brand. I've also heard that the larger 21" wheels on the higher trims is the largest thing causing roughness over bumps. It sucks, but that is something a long-term owner can swap out, or get a lower trim, if it's a deal breaker.
I've owned mazdas since 2008. Never been disappointed. 1st 3 had 100k before I upgraded to 2016 cx5 now at 138kmi and she still runs like a gem. Only had to replace the belt last year, and regular wear/tear of shocks/brakes. Mazdas are so underated
Big ups Scotty, I’ve been saying for years Mazda been underrated. IMO Mazda probably is the best kept secret in the car industry especially when it comes to getting more bang for your buck. Toyota and Mazda are in the same ballpark when it comes to reliability. Honda in the club also. But only if it’s made overseas as Scotty would say. So far so good the wife’s CX 5 is churning along. I think what’s going to happen is that I’ll inherit hers and she’ll get the 90 maybe a year or two down the line, and of course when the price goes down a little. I must be old but I never thought I would never see the day when just a average nice vehicle you would be paying over a thousand dollars a month for something that will depreciate the moment you drive it off the lot. But at the end of the day everybody likes nice things and to have nice things you have to pay for it.
Agreed been saying this for years, Got a Friend of Mine He's a devout Toyota fan his wife wrecked their last Toyota he talked to me cuz I'm a mechanic of over 40 years did all the work on his vehicles and I highly recommended the CX-5 he bought one on my recommendation and absolutely loves it.
We have owned four new Mazdas. That was after trying US, German, the other Japanese brands. The Mazdas are very reliable, economical, solid, safe, and fun to drive. The only downside is the infotainment system and now the automatic transmission in our 2016 CX5.
I had a Mazda 626.. 86 model. I tried hard to kill it in college. It refused to die.. These guys know how to build a car.... Fast forward to now. IM 54 yrs old.. just bought a 2021 cx9 signature... this is an amazing vehicle.. especially for the $... give em a look.. you won't be dissappointes
Love my 2018 CX5 and my wife's 2020 CX-30. Zero problems with either car and fun to drive. The new inline-6 looks like it would be a blast. Thanks, Scotty.
I have a 2016 CX-5 I bought 2 years ago. I was influenced by my daughter who drives a '17 Mazda 6. I'll just say I'm a convert after years of domestic vehicles...
These cars like most newer cars are not much thicker then a beer can.And the paint on the 2018 models is nices but not very durable. But my wife does like the car. Its getting too small with the grand kids but with the crazy winters its better and safer for her to drive.
I have a 2015 Mazda CX-5 Sport. 135K miles and still running strong! I maintain my vehicle and keep it running smooth. Love Mazda. I won't ever change car models.
Never was a fan of Mazda. Till back in 2018. Needed something with good gas mileage. Got a Mazda 6. Was very impressed with the quality and amount of features. Then I got a 2023 cx9 and now 24 cx90. For the money you spend you get the most features great quality. Any other manufacturer you would be over 90k for to get all the features Mazda offers. Not saying the cx90 is cheap by any means. But you get a lot more for your money with a Mazda vs any other manufacturer.
The car in the video is mine...My wife and I are having a blast with it. It's as nice as any Mercedes or BMW we've owned. We love the updated features too.😊
@@1953MMike Wow, thanks for letting Scotty do a review on it!! I was very impressed as I've always loved a straight 6 engine! Had one on the 1986 Supra and it was SO smooth! We have a 2014 Sequoia now and love it, but of course it's 'a tremendous gas hog'!! Maybe someday we'll get the new CX-90!!
@joelmurray1275 I own a PHEV PP, and I am loving it. Got it over Turbo S because I wanted 7 seats and the PHEV is just as fast as the Turbo S. Looking forward to many worry free miles with high gas mileage and lots of fun when you step on it!
I just got my 3rd Mazda. 2018 3 hatchback touring manual 6 speed. Absolute pleasure to drive. It will do almost anything my 944s did with way less maintenance.
I’ve had the CX90 for a little over 3 months now. The auto hold button, never thought I’d use it but I actually look forward to it now when I’m in traffic, drive thru’s. Power on the go, comfortable drive, good visibility, great looking vehicle inside and out. My wife has a CX7, it runs great, no issues and over 1/4 mil miles, that had heavy weight factoring into buying another Mazda,Toyo and Honda were in consideration. Her dealership gives a loaner car w every service so if there are any issues, w new platform it’s likely, the loaner will cover that issue. Have driven it on 300 mile trips, comfortable and fun on the road. We got the 2nd highest package just before S class. If all goes well, good luck trying to find a 3 row SUV at this price w the features, you’d have to go luxury class to beat it.
I have a stock 2010 Mazda 3 sedan, still solid and tight, looks great, has crazy torque and is powerful and fast. Other than a faulty oxygen censor, it’s never had any issues. Seats, interior, etc, still in great shape ,barely showing any wear. Best car I’ve ever owned, by far.
I’ve had two Mazdas, a 6 that was totaled😢😢😢, and I just bought a used 5 for my kid in college. I’m seriously thinking of buying the CX-90 as my next new (or new to me) car. I absolutely love how Mazdas drive…and no maintenance issues. 🎉
@@fakebrakekind of, i think it showed mazda used parts better. The other thing is mazda would replace ford parts like suspension arms and such they did not like. Plus mazda was fords small car program.
I rented 1 CX-5 2020 and just a few miles away I noticed that the oil light came on 😮, I call Avis rent car and they told me that if I want to buy the oil or return the car, I ended getting the oil in autozone , it was just 49,000 miles in that engine and took 2 quart of oil , I don’t know 🤷♂️ what happened there because was not supposed to be that low
My 2005 Miata is still going strong. It's my daily driver here in Colorado. I enjoy waving to the Jeeps that have skidded off the road and are stuck in the ditch when it snows.
Was considering the Subaru Ascent, Toyota Grand Highlander, VW Atlas and Mazda CX90. Placed my order for the CX90 today. Hopefully it was the right call! It's on the boat right now, so I have to wait a few weeks, but I'm excited to see how it does!
It's a good thing you didn't buy the Subaru their money pets, he'll be pleased this punch with your Mazda purchase, good riding comfortable reliable vehicle.
It's a good thing you did not buy the Subaru they are money pits, you will be pleased as punch with the Mazda, comfortable good looking reliable vehicle
Same here. Wanted the Grand Highlander at first, and even though it was the better car imo, markups killed it for me. Wasn’t worth it, even for the XLE. Dealerships were asking $50k for the base trim GH. No thanks. CX-90 was cheaper when considering base model, and no markup!
Scotty, wanted to respond to your comment about speed limit recognition in this model vs. others. In some models the front cameras are used for traffic sign recognition including speed limits, and some are GPS based. I think Mazda may use cameras so it wouldn't have limits for the coverage area.
We had a 2013 CX-5 Touring at 90k miles, had only 1 issue with the map sensor. We are very happy with the car. We beat it up, it's our work horse. I like the CX-90, but I am a little worry about complicated drivetrain battery/hybrid plus the turbo seem to look for problems down the road. I would wish they just make a pure Inline 6 model...
I can remember when Scotty used to break people’s balls about buying Mazdas, because of the turbo engine’s “lack of reliability.” I responded to that narrative by buying a CX-9 Signature. It’s the best vehicle I ever owned.
I've been a Mazda lover since my old 1985 RX7. Our CX5 was bought in 2016 and I have, quite literally, had to do absolutely nothing to that car over almost eight years. Routine maintenance, tires, brake pads and rotors (which I did myself) and the car car has performed flawlessly. We are seriously thinking about upgrading either to the new CX5 or the CX90 since my wife likes the idea of the extra space. I drove a CX9 and loved it, this looks even better.
You're the best Scotty. I have had 2 Mazda 6 and currently a CX5. I think they are great cars and fit my price point. I also have a weekend 2002 Miata that runs like a dream and so much fun. Mazda is an exceptional company that most surveys don't give it enough credit.
Not sure about this new cx90, but I own a cx9 and it "reads" the speed limit signs. Doesn't need a signal. Confirmed, it works in death valley or anywhere remote.
We just bought a 2024 CX-5, coming from an E500 & G500 Benz, it is very nice. Interior is high quality, drives very well and it gets good MPG. We are always chatting about how nice it is. The G500 sits in the Garage. 0% for 5 years was a nice gift.
I'd say it was from a combination of feature creep and gasket anxiety, @@Hallowsaw . I say that because the Subaru price advantage seems to be gone now.
I got my first Mazda 3 in 2009. The 1st gen. My cars were VWs but I was curious about this new brand in Mexico at the time. I just got my 3rd Mazda 3. I just love them. I'm glad I decided to take the chance and try that 1st Mazda 3 in 2009 because they are really great cars.
I always thought the inline 4 cylinder sky active engine from Mazda sounded pretty good for a 4 cylinder so I'm glad to hear their inline 6 sounds amazing too! Maybe we can get it in the Mazda 3 lol
The cx90 inline 6 those has quite a few design issues that will make maintenance very difficult down the road. For starters for such a big car there is absolutely no room to work inside that engine bay it is absolutely stacked inside. As well, they chose to do a rear timing belt which requires engine pulled to service. From what ive heard, it was a nice first try but this thing will be a nightmare to work on. Honda pilot for me
@@bchowmein1711 It seems that a lot of the worry about the timing chain (yes, it's a chain versus a belt) is supposed to last the lifetime of the vehicle, so most people won't be paying to replace it. Or, at least the vast majority of initial buyers that won't be taking the vehicle beyond 150k miles or so. Only time will tell, though, and almost all manufacturers are getting more complicated in the engine department while almost every single UA-cam comment is trashing the long-term reliability, especially with the oh so commonly incorrect complaint that all turbo engines are unreliable.
@@Brian-og4uurecommended timing chain replacement is only 100,000 miles. It's not that long. But that's only one unfortunate design feature. There are many others. Sadly, this engine was designed to be leased, then dumped, not to last like Mazda 3s do.
@@Boababa-fn3mr Out of curiosity, what else is unfortunate design wise? Genuinely curious. My current vehicle is 10 years old and I'm at 65k miles, so a 100k mile routine service isn't something that will happen too often for me. It's also a Tacoma with the long-lasting 4.0 v6 so reliability is a conern for my vehicle stable. The wife is replacing her car, but she thought the CX-90 wasn't very exciting or unique looking in the sea of crossover choices today.
@@Brian-og4uu Direct injection only, no port injectors, so long-term carbon build-up is a distinct possibility; weird mild hybrid motor/generator setup likely to cost a fortune if anything goes wrong with it; electronic controlled clutch pack mated to automatic transmission instead of torque converter, VVT motor and high pressure fuel injection pump also at rear of engine, difficult to access, replacement of pump also requires engine out, general lack of space for accessing anything under the hood. None of the above matters so much if you're only keeping it for a lease period, but if you like to run your cars into the ground, it might.
@ there’s a few recalls but I haven’t had any issues and haven’t brought it in yet. Still drives really smoothly and the sport mode actually feels like a real sport mode. This thing is deceptively fast for a car this size.
I live in Mexico and my first car was a new Mazda 2 back in 2016. Never had an issue with it and after +70k km I sold it in 2022 and buying a Mazda 3 . Same thing, no issues so far.
It's a beautiful vehicle. I saw one on the road a few weeks ago and it really caught my eye. I liked the Toyota Highlander best until I saw the Mazda CX-90. I've owned a few Toyotas but never a Mazda.
Great review on this vehicle. I love seeing the CXs on the road. They are lovely to see on the road. If I had my druthers, I would get the CX-5, but my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee is making me happy.
FYI that heads-up display isn't reliant on a data connection. It's using a forward camera by the mirror to read speed signs. Sounds like your previous Toyota experience is a different operation.
I miss my 2015 Mazda3! You don’t see that many Mazdas on the roads but they sure are excellent vehicles and are so much fun to drive! Excellent reliability!
The only thing I don't like about these new vehicles is that I can't do my own maintenance, like every other new vehicle in the 21st century. I love my 2021 Mazda CX-5 CE Turbo w/ AWD, and it still feels new to me. I got it before the car prices got crazy. Zoom Zoom!
Thanks, Scotty for telling us about your CX90 experience! I've been lusting after this vehicle since before it was released, and you've confirmed my thoughts. There's a strong chance one will end up in my driveway at some point in the next year or so to replace my ancient '07 GMC Yukon XL Denali (still runs GREAT). The CX90 is drop dead gorgeous, and Mazda does the BEST red colors I've ever seen - that Artisan Red with the white Napa Leather interior is stunning indeed! Hey what happened with the camera on this one? I got a little motion-sick with all the fast panning LOL! 🤢Great video anyway, sir.
These vehicles are quickly convincing me plugin hybrids will eventually be a spoil sport to EVs: as PHEVs get closer to 100+ miles on electric, that will easily meet daily needs. While hybrid mode likely works fine on road trips or places with bad charging infrastructure. Maybe I'm overestimating how many people want that.
I bought my new 2024 Mazda CX-90 3.3 Turbo S Premium inline 6 back in late July after spending over a year searching for a replacement SUV. It is a stunning, head turner of a vehicle with exterior color Platinum Quartz Metallic and interior color Black Nappa Leather. I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase, and I know you will be as well. Best of luck!
Scotty, love your reviews, but you fail to mention you need to pull front clip and entire motor to change a simple timing chain! Kinda of a big deal wouldn’t you say? Might be a deal breaker for some down the road!
Good to see Mazda getting some long due notice. They were the silent option behind Toyota & Honda. Though i am concerned at the attempt to go "upscale". 2011 Mazda 3 2.5L. 200,914 miles.
I get why they're going upscale though, to separate themselves from Honda and Toyota. They can't compete with them in terms of sales, so in order to attract sales, their selling point would have to a one tier higher luxury. My 2019 Mazda3 HB AWD, feels a lot more premium than my friends 2021 Camry SE and both cars are basically the same price. The interior isn't scratchy plastic, all the buttons and control feels more expensive, and the infotainment looks a lot cleaner. Toyota and Honda interiors will not age well because it's too flamboyant. I do like the new Civic's interior, but not sure about the quality in person. It's looks very similar to the BP Mazda3.
I just bought the preferred package and for the price/discounts and no markups, it’s hard to beat. It is a vehicle that will surprise you! Smooth, feels luxurious. So far, I’m very impressed, especially I can’t believe it was high 30’s brand new!
I think there is a camera in front of vehicle that takes a picture of certain road signs and then it shows up on your display to see. My camry does this.
We bought the CX-30 and only paid 32K. Doesn't get the best mileage at around 22 mpg but we don't drive a lot. Drives really great. May look at the hybrid for our next car.
I love this guy! Also if one buys the "normal" version of the motor, JB4 has the tune for less than $600 and it gets right up to the S, doesn't void warranty
I just picked up my CX-90 two weeks ago. I love it! It replaced my 2017 Highlander which I also loved. My two Highlanders gave me over 400k trouble free miles. When my brother in laws boasted about their Mazdas, I had to take a look and I'm so glad I did. Mine was $53k out the door due to having the Preferred rather than PHEW, "S" and Premium. Thanks Scotty for the review and I too hope it does not fall apart at 60k miles!
Great purchase. We love my wife’s CX-90 PHEV. Don’t worry, the Grand Highlander is overpriced and hyped. Plus it’s boring. Mazda still makes a car that is fun to drive while hauling all of your kids/pets/things.
Make sure you get your recalls done ! I work at a Mazda dealership and there are a few reprogramming recalls on the 90’s. Nothing scary so don’t be worried but definitely something you want to do while they tweak out all the little bugs
I can say I’ve had my CX90 from June, drove from Texas to Florida in it. I can say I really enjoyed every moment driving it. And I didn’t have to stop as often as I thought. Now I have over 5,000miles on it. Great car for my family of 5.
I'm still driving my 2018 touring edition in all black have 76k miles on it and so far so good. I agree with you wish they made more I would totally upgrade
Out of all the cars in it's class, the Accord, Camry, whatever over saturated cars the Koreans have on sale in the segment, the Mazda6 was the best looking of them all. It reminds me of the Jaguar XJ.
@@mrsfranny2020 I just bought a 21 Mazda 6 Carbon Edition last week, beautiful car! Got it for $28,700, only 29,500 miles on it. Mazda Certified. Hope you can get one too:)
@@mrsfranny2020 the ventilated seats are so awesome in GA heat. Haven’t tried the heated steering wheel yet. Oh funny thing, while I was buying this car, some guy tried to buy it out from under me. But he was demanding $5,000 off the price and they told him no of course but it was funny he only wanted the carbon edition Mazda 6 and nothing else. Too bad I got there first😀
Getting our 1st Mazda on Saturday. A 2024 CX-5 GS trim model in Mazda red. Looked at Honda CRV’s, Toyota Rav 4’s, GMC Terrain Denali, Chev Trialblazer, and Equinox, VW Tiguan, Subaru Forester. Decided on Mazda due to cheaper price for comparable quality, imo. Wanted to stay under the cost of our 1st house in 79’, lol. Hearing nothing but great things about Mazda. Also have a neighbour with the same car, although older, and they love it. Looking forward to a road trip.
Mazda really has become king of the road. We have had three in the last 20 years. Our current 2018 CX-9 has 102000 mi and it's barely broken in. Outside of routine oil, tires, brakes, spark plugs at 100,000 and transmission oil change (which we've done all ourselves) it's never seen a mechanic. Hope it lasts another 100,000 miles. Most impressive is how well the interior has worn. Cream/Ivory leather seats that still look new. Take care of it and it will take care of you.
I have been buying NEW Mazdas since 1985 !! Loved them ALL. Not ONE failed me or ever let me down , EVER . All my Mazdas I bought brand new .. B200 pickup , Van, Mazda 3, Tribute, CX5 Carbon Edition, YES 5 models through the years all outstanding … my brand new CX5 is just amazing !!
Great video! I literally just bought this exact model coming from a Mazda cx9 carbon. I got the crystal red color and white interior. My wife was so excited when I told her I got her a new one. I also got 2.1% which is almost impossible w any other car brand right now. We pick it up in three days. Can’t wait!
I was into german cars till 2021 when I drove the cx-5... now I'm a happy Mazda owner with more than 60k km made in the snow, soft offroad, long roads and family trips. Owesome cars! The new cx-60/90 are even better!
Mine is being built in Hiroshima as I write this. I opted for the PHEV. I thoroughly test drove both. Preferred the PHEV. Thanks Scotty, Your report directly refutes some of these social media clowns who know nothing about cars. Some of them reported the trans being jerky in low gears. My test drives were like yours, these CX 90's are monsters. The PHEV is even quicker on the low end than the Turbo S, (big electric motor).

@3535msj wow I never drove any Mazda, but I would be happy. What's the difference bw the cx-9 and the cx 90?
@@MrAlvarez23 CX-90 is the new completely redesigned version of the CX-9
Reviewers have raved about CX-90 ever since it’s launch because of its beautiful styling, excellent build quality and performance that punches into the class above while undercutting the competition by well over 10k usd. It’s quite simply a phenomenal car and now it seems like it’s getting a clean bill of health from Scotty in terms of reliability. My wife and I purchased this vehicle… beautiful, spacious, very fun to drive, and simply reliable. If your in the market, you will not be disappointed!
May i ask you do you complain of ride quality issues as I’m reading online of some owners complaining about the suspension being too stiff

Out of price range but I love my 2023 CX 5 Carbon Edition and I dont feel like Im missing out on anything.
Just brought today. Picking up tomorrow!! Beautiful car and has Bose.
I love this guy!
Also if one buys the "normal" version of the motor, JB4 has the tune for less than $600 and it gets right up to the S, doesn't void warranty
This is a Very Popular SUV. Seems like the price doesn’t bother people if they Make Good Cars! 👍
That burgundy must be their hot new color, saw one just like it yesterday at Costco. One darned good looking vehicle.
You should have gotten grand Highlander
Great purchase. We love my wife’s CX-90 PHEV. Don’t worry, the Grand Highlander is overpriced and hyped. Plus it’s boring. Mazda still makes a car that is fun to drive while hauling all of your kids/pets/things.
@@JJustinXuI personally was going to until dealerships marked up the cheapest grand highlanders to $50k. Wasn’t worth it sadly imo.
Make sure you get your recalls done ! I work at a Mazda dealership and there are a few reprogramming recalls on the 90’s. Nothing scary so don’t be worried but definitely something you want to do while they tweak out all the little bugs
How are the cx90’s reliability so far?
I can say I’ve had my CX90 from June, drove from Texas to Florida in it. I can say I really enjoyed every moment driving it. And I didn’t have to stop as often as I thought. Now I have over 5,000miles on it. Great car for my family of 5.
Which one do you have? Inline 6 or PHEV?
@@blissfuljoy6049 It was the base inline6
Now if they brought the Mazda 6 back with that engine, I would buy it in a minute.
I just had a remote start installed yesterday so that will help too:) good luck, hope you can get one, the CX 5 is nice too. Saw some nice ones at the dealership I went to. Oh funny thing, while I was buying this car, some guy tried to buy it out from under me. But he was demanding $5,000 off the price and they told him no of course but it was funny he only wanted the carbon edition Mazda 6 and nothing else. Too bad I got there first😀
Agreed, although this powertrain is unnecessarily complicated, which will become expensive as it gets older.
I 100% agree with you I'm currently drive a 2011 mazda speed 3 with 210.000 miles still running without issues Mazda's are well build.
You sir made an excellent decision to pick up this car! One of my current dream cars for sure
Mazda recommends Spark plugs on that your turbo cx-9 every 40k miles
@@tooltime4640 correct but they weren't needed until 100,000 and even then they had lost marginal integrity.
The CX-9, CX-5, 3, 6 etc. are very reliable. Sadly, it seems the complicated inline 6 won't last as long.
We love our CX-90, fantastic vehicle.
Beautiful review, Scotty.
Great video! I literally just bought this exact model coming from a Mazda cx9 carbon. I got the crystal red color and white interior. My wife was so excited when I told her I got her a new one. I also got 2.1% which is almost impossible w any other car brand right now. We pick it up in three days. Can’t wait!
I test drove a 2021 CX-9 and buying it tomorrow. Very smooth ride.
That engine sounds really, really good. I bet with a little exhaust system on there you'd be turning heads from people looking for an M3.
We already have 90s coming in with those issues. It’s a Mazda thing to have bad transmissions lol
In 5,000 my cx90 transmission is perfect! No issues.😊
