Teddy Long's unbelievable Randy Savage cocaine story
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 лис 2024
- Teddy Long tells a story about going to buy weed with Randy Savage long before he became Macho Man in WWE. The WWE Hall of Famer recalls the terrifying events that happened when a bag of cocaine came out. Also, he discusses why Jinder Mahal is in a better spot now as a manager than when he was an active wrestler. Mahal will be a big part of Superstar Spectacle in India next month with SONY SPORTS Network, the official broadcast partner, presenting him in a big way.
Gear up for story time with host Mac Davis in this edition of The Wrestling Time Machine.

Damn, they burned TL's weed connection😡
Plenty more out there, randy savage was genius, (no lanny) calculated risk
My father was on a flight, from NY to Chicago - Randy was from the suburbs of Chicago. He walked on to the plane, sat down in first class. My dad noticed him. A couple mins later, after the flight attendants completed the pre-takeoff checklist procedure, Randy unbuckled himself, stood up in the middle of the walkway - put his arms up and did his flexing move.
The entire plane went wild.
A true showman. Through and through.
Great story, thanks for sharing. I can imagine Randy wondering, "Eh, I'm tired, ...but I probably should give them something, ...Sh**, Here it Goes!" Lol. Showman indeed.
"I've been to the danger zone" - Macho Man
The danger zone was actually a 6 foot radius around Randy Savage.
Yeauh!
I love old wrestling stories. Almost every one of 'em are wild
The number of insane wrestling stories from the old days makes me feel like there was never a time that 2 or more wrestlers got in a car together and arrived at their destination without incident.
@@BATM_Media Tougher/wilder business back then. I guess you could compare it to the wild west of the 1800s to now
Back in 80 and 90 people were more wild and rebellious. Also no smartphones and cancel culture
This still hapenns all the time, people just get caught more, thats all

Thank you.

Not only that, but the first two minutes leading up to that are cringey and awkward.
Those guys were real OGs
Robbing a drug dealer is crazy 🤣
I have never in my life seen a drug dealer get rubbed.
Imagine having to go back to your boss and tell him you got robbed by the Macho man ... unbelievable 😂
It was less dangerous back in the 70s and 80s. Drug dealers used to carry on with a switch blade back then.
Drug dealers get robbed a LOT😂

Theodore R. Long Bonafide Legend, I remember him as a Ref then Managing The Skyscrapers and then when he Managed DOOM the rest is history
Manager of 2 cold and Bagwell also
@@gregjones6785 No doubt, but Skyscrapers put him on, then with Doom he was Manager of the year he was a BIG thing in WCW, then he goes to WWF start from ground up as a Ref, started managing again got a lot of HEAT especially with Rodney Mack then became a General Manager, he also managed Jazz as Womens Champion
I remember all that.
I thought Teddy was going to join the Skyscrapers and hit that jobber, who refused to sell. Sid looked reluctant in teaching the guy a lesson, but Spivey had no hesitation at all. Teddy yelling "Kick his *ss!", made me realize how the jobber F'd up big.@@kingdwight9796
How'd he manage a video game?
Macho man never did cocaine, cocaine did macho man.

I see Teddy Long or Macho Man Randy Savage I watch!
I just came across this while scrolling. Keep up the good work

"Ginger" Mahal sounds like an Irish pub brawler 😂
Sounds like something we would have made in SvR back in the day, like The Great Khaki or Reymond Stereo.

He's describing a strong arm robbery, and the da could add conspiracy and intimidating a witness, here in RI, that's a mando dime piece...shhh
Dirty Dick and Randy Savage funny asl they done robbed Teddy plug 💀 got his name bad out here in these WWE streets 🤣
Dick was a bad ass. Even Jake the snake was scared of him and even talks about it
Teddy needs to tell all the stories before he passes away lmao

It's called reminiscing 😂@@raymondtipton7243
"It looked like a robbery to me!" Yes, Teddy. When you attack someone from behind, render them unconscious and take all their shit..........that could possibly be misconstrued as a strong armed robbery, and ya may wanna reconsider ever showing your face in that neighborhood again.(Back then, at least)
Randy already had the name Macho Man when he played Minor league baseball. He later used the name in the late 70s in his father's Promotion ICW in Lexington Ky.
Yep
Randy Savage was what cocaine wanted to be when it grew up
“Are you gonna pay for this coke?”
“Oooooh yeah!!!”
“Really?”
“No”

Imagine going back to your plug, and telling them Macho Man took your yayo
Hope he wasn't working on consignment or he might have ended up at the bottom of Lake Lanier.

Teddy Works out in my gym everyday! Great Guy!!
Immediately clicked upon seeing the title.
Lots of things happen during “after hours “ or (in litas case) “before hours” that will surprise you about the WWE .
???
This would have been in maybe 1977 or 1978 if it actually happened.
I was born in 77
Fun fact, the year 1977 came right after the year 1976. And leading scientists predict that the year 1978 is fast approaching. Obey the science!
i fucking love teddy long dude

Jinder Mahal is actually Canadian
Canadians suck!
Yes but his background is indian

Hearing about Randy Savage using cocaine is literally as surprising as hearing Michael Jackson had plastic surgery. The question isn't DID Mach' use coke, the question is when he DIDN'T use it.
Did he share with Liz and Stephanie?
@@curthennig9448 Stewie Griffin voice: POSSIBLY! (As well as Queen Sherri)
@@VeryStupid4547 Forgot about Sherri Martel. She was quite the bad girl in the AWA!
@@curthennig9448Stephanie per a Hannibal interview tried claiming Randy was allergic to coke. I couldn't stop laughing when I heard that
@@curthennig9448 To quote the lads on OSW Review, "she had ginormo tits". Apparently she fancied Hogan, so that takes her down a few pegs in my book.
thats for putting what i needed in the first few seconds
I'm not saying Mach didn't dabble in, probably everything, but that being said, this dude has thrown around so many disproven stories over the years. How can you decipher true from false? There's also a lot of wrestlers we can say the same about Hogan ect, but that always bugs me about these "stories" no one else has seen.
Teddy was underrated he was great GM he could go toe to toe with Heyman
"He put the Shoot Sleeper on him" Teddy Long is 5 Managers or top 10 if men in suits in all of wrestling l😂

dealer takes his kids in toys r us, and sees randy doll on shelf, has flashbacks, savage ptsd from the chokehold, kids tuggin at him askin him whats wrong daddy. the frightening power of the macho man still haunts him to this day no doubt,a true savage in the game
I’m 51 I remember dick slater this is an incredible story
I think Jinder could also work as a midcard *face*, actually. He has genuine likeability in person and in interviews, and he had some fun moments with 3MB. I'd like to at least give it a chance.
Teddy is looking great!
I could only hope that Macho Man proclaimed oOhhhhh YeAaaah after snorting a fat rail
i love these old stories
I've always heard of guys having to buy their own hotels and rental cars and food. I'm surprised none of them went in on a van and made it into a sleeper
Teddy Long said, and we got in the van and we left. I thought they were already in the van. How do you get in the van if you're already in the van?
RIGHT and how was he and slater in the back and savage was in front 🤔 ? who rode in the front passenger seat to buy weed …. If savage was front passenger then who drove 🤔
I'm getting the feeling we got the "light" version of the events. Lol
I was thinking the same
@@upfrontsourcethey got in the drug dealers car

Thst holla famer was smooth
Teddy a real one
You know randy yelled "OHhhh YEAaaah" after he found the guys Coke !
Funny that Teddy says Randy Savage worked in the old NWA. Considering his dad's ICW Promotion was an outlaw Promotion and wasn't affiliated with the NWA and didn't want to be. Never heard Randy mention working in the NWA. He went to Memphis in 84 then to WWF in 85. I guess if you count his time in TNA in the mid 2000s that's NWA Lol.
Randy Savage was in n.w.a. on TBS and 76 and 77
You start with Memphis in 84…he wrestled for a decade before that.
OHhhhhhh YeAAaaaah!! One more snort Brotha!! R.I.P. Macho man
Damn Randy really lived up to his name 😂😂😂 SAVAGE LIFE LIKE WEBBIE NEM 😂
I have serious doubts about this story.
Firstly, why would you rob one of your own contacts, or one of your contact's affiliates? Not only is it bad business, but it doesn't make sense, you're essentially double crossing said person(s) over what? Were these guys really about that life or that world?
Why would they take such a risk? It's not as if these wrestlers aren't exactly easily recognisable. They're on regular TV and their whereabouts can easily be tracked by gig dates and arenas.
It just sounds like a really implausible suggestion "I know, let's rob a dealer of his cocaine and everything he has, it's not like anyone is ever going to recognise us or anything, it can't come back to us".
Sorry, ain't buying it, the story is kayfabe, not a shoot.
🤔 I was thinking, "Did they plan on buying from that guy again?"😅
I have doubts about it as well. It could have happened in Georgia in 1977 or 1978. The right people were there at the time. And Dick Slater was crazy enough to do something like that.
But
- The stuff about putting him out with a sleeper hold doesn't make any sense.
- At that time, Teddy Long was a nobody fan who hung around Abdualla the Butcher. I kind of doubt he hung out with Dick Slater.
- You might get away with robbing someone like that once. But if the guy doesn't come after you, the story is going to get around to everyone else. And if you go looking for anything after that, you could get into serious trouble. People drawing on you kind of trouble.
- Dick Slater would do that, but I don't think Randy Savage would be that crazy.
If it happened at all, it was probably some really small-time guy in some small town that they took a very small amount from. If its true at all, its way exaggerated.
Only he knows
@Rondondemarco Yeah. Its a good point about potential charges against Teddy Long. marty jannetty told a BS story about killing someone when he was young and the story triggered a full police investigation.
And if the police start looking, there is always a chance that they may find a bunch of random evidence that turns a fake story into a crime they can bring charges on.
@Rondondemarco I doubt very much the story is even true, as the circumstances in it and surrounding it, seem totally implausible, so I wouldn't worry about it.
When was macho man in WCW in the 80s
I don't think he was. He was working for his father's "outlaw" ICW promotion, or doing programs for CWA/memphis.
@@1973scotta my question is when did he get with teddy long
