I see no link whatsoever between the Jam/Style council and Oasis/NGHFB. To compare Weller who composed Going underground with Gallagher who wrote Whatever is simply marking the decline of UK singer/songwriting.

What music do you like they ask me, Angry young men with electric guitars is always my reply. Wellar was so special, as I grew up, we just thought it was music back then. The Jam, The Specials, Elvis Costello and many many more. What a time to grow up in.
I feel sorry for the kids nowadays not having the choice we did. Will the angry young men with electric guitars ever return?
You'd have to pull them away from Instagram . And they couldn't hope to match The Jam , Clash , Stranglers , Pistols , Damned etc . Music was so exciting for a while .

One of the best English songwriters ever. All his songs had a point , a story . Unlike noels. The tunes carried oasis ( great tunes mind) the lyrics were nonsense.

He does have a standard white Strat as I've seen him playing it, it appears in the 'Ballad Of The Mighty I' video too. But that looks more like a Strat Tele hybrid with three Humbuckers. Someone else may know better than me as I'm no expert, just looks like that from what I can see. ;-)
