The Punk and the Modfather. Is saw The Who perform Quadrophenia Live before John Entwistle passed away. Zack Starky on drums, Billy idol playing Ace and PJ Proby performed the Godfather and the Punk.. I went with my Mum, on my Vespa P200E. One of the best days of my life.. R.I.P Mum ❤
2023 now but Roger still has it, his brilliant voice that delivered so many anthems of my teen years, I'm now in my 50s and it's fantastic to see our idols still performing and what does that say? I'll tell you should I, it says these guys prove the faith and worship we gave was so so justified, they never let us down and still don't!
'That's Entertainment' .Excellent what a performance love to have been there bouncing around enjoying this one-off. You can feel the fantastic atmosphere.
I remember Paul Weller in an interview on BBC Radio shortly after The Jam split up. In the interview Paul Weller said, and I quote.. "I'd like to give a massive Thank you to all the confused Modz who bought our records in the early days, The Jam set out as a Punk band"
I heard Weller say after releasing In the City and Modern World that he had a block writing songs so before All Mod Cons was released he returned to Croydon and said he started listening to The Kinks.
I've always been a rocker but so what? Its the music that matters and this is so good - wish I had been there! By the way I had a friend who was a mod - me in my leather jacket and him in his parka - we got along great! That is how it should be
Even if I don't get to see Daltrey live, at least I can see him performing for the web digitally, just like the rest of the old guys who are still with us today...
Being a Who fan at the time (August 1977) I first heard The Jam and those other punk bands and I was hooked and they were great live back then too. Two wonderful bands I still enjoying listening to today.
The Who only came back with the Mod thing when people like Weller,Oasis Ocean Colour Scene did the revival in the 90s have a look at them on the front of Who’s Next some mods they are with long hair beards flared trousers big collared shirts don’t get me wrong it’s their best album but “Mods” really.
Great respect for Roger and his work with Teenage Cancer Trust, but maybe he should have got PW to sing this as well as play. Roger's voice ain't what it was ...... PW's 'angry young man' take on the vocal would have been something special to hear.
Two absolute legends it doesn't get any better than this ,we are the mods we are the mods we are the mods.
Three legends...Craddock too
The Punk and the Modfather.

@@TherealAlanFreeman what a fantastic memory to have to remember your mother.
Entwhistle and daltery your absolutely correct
Surely...we are the Mods, we are the Mods, we are we are we are the Mods.
Amazing performance. It should be noted just how good Steve Pilgrim is on Drums to attempt this as authentic and Rowdy as Moon, and he does. Bravo

Moments like this make life worth living brilliant

Roger daltrey was always my favorite lead singer in rock'n'roll he's also a good man!
Pure Joy in Wellers face! Beautiful!
Fantastic. Daltrey can still belt em out.. Weller having fun!... Has to be said Pete Townsend one of the master songwriters of the British Rock scene
So damn cool. The Who influence is so evident throughout the magnificent Jam catalogue.

Great clip - Paul & Roger belting out one of the top songs from the Oo.

I saw the Jam play 2x. I was up close both times and I don't think Paul smiled once. He's is beaming here.
Fucking Roger Daltrey! 71 years old, but Stills bad ass

As soon as the song starts Weller keeps his distance as he knows how Daltrey is notorious for swinging that microphone.

Great audiencia.. known all The words.
We were there....... a brilliant night
Substitute is great
The who’s most jam like song!
THE BEST
Legends
Zak Starkey, who got his first drum kit from Keith Moon.
Fuck yes. Long live Rock n Roll.

The guy with the 12 string looks like Crispian Mills from kula shaker

ROGER IL CAPOSTIPITE ..INSIEME PETE .....👍👍👍👍👍
Absolute restraint, the need to do arm windmills, ala Townshend was overcome by all. Think if it was me I couldn't help but sneak at least one in.
Who Heaven 2.

LOVE IT .. DO U LOOK IN MY EYE?? IM A SUBSTITUTE,,,,X
Zach those original m.m.t drums
Mod for it
Mod Godfather & Mod father
It must really humble Roger to be playing with the legend that is Paul Weller 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You can't be that stupid...
@@theflatulentfreddy1 You must be . The Who copied everything the Jam did 14 years earlier 😂
Mod overload
As British as music gets.
The second false ending had 'em fooled. Won't get fooled again.

Zak Starkey.
Is it bollox its Steve Pilgrim !
@@andywalton2249 Yup, and he's shite.
oddly it sounds like Tom Jones singing - fucking great though
Did you want to throw your knickers?
I look all white ,but my dad was black
Roger Daltrey looks like my elderly doddering aunt, that's cool though.

You're 100% right, mate!
Weller doesn't sing like an angry young man anymore...he's gotten older and mellowed...
Weller hasn't been "angry sounding" since the early 80s. Now he is just boring as fuck.
Weller should have been lead vocal
Nope...
shit in his younger days, really ??????u must b a train spotter,
If he's milking the nostalgia trip why not do it with Bruce & Rick ?
You are not wrong....
Like an embarrassing birthday party karaoke.. Or minutos wasted down the pub!
Smash up the karaoke machine and play live at Leeds instead who you get to mime it for you is your business.
Daltry canna sing he was the weak link in the band.
You cant spell?..
And u must be deaf! Daltrey 1 of the greatest vocalists of all time.
daltrey cant sing for toffee
yes and
+brucedickinson12 calm down calm down as the scousers would say!
+brucedickinson12 make yer mind up. you either sing for iron maiden, or fly for easyjet, haha
i do both
I wouldn't call that singing tbh
